After our survivors realized that Safe Haven was not all it was cracked up to be, they managed a hasty retreat by the narrowest of margins. Based upon the recollection of one of the members, our group heads for a secluded farm. The farm turns out to be more than they could have hoped for and they quickly settle in. After all the trials, tribulations, and self-imposed guilt that Isaac has gone through it’s a heart-warming turn that he is blessed with a mate in Indigo. In an ironic twist of fate, a weaponized retro-virus sent the Chinese packing. The embattled east coast sat as a wasteland waiting for the next landlord. Over the years, the community in the secluded valley grew and prospered. The population grew from 80 to 300 to 800 plus. Babies were conceived and it seemed like paradise to the survivors. Of course, as we all know, this paradise will not last forever. Considering the community growth rate perhaps it’s time to look for greener, more defensible pastures. Book five heads down a different path. It chronicles Luke’s solo journey through the territory after a personal tragedy. Crossing paths with a group of religious zealots calling themselves The Brotherhood are the main attraction in this volume. Luke’s encounter with them and a reunion with Isaac are the highlights. Book six introduces us to Aidan Riley, son of the President of the United States. We’re given a brief account of his early experience as a teenager with the invasion forces. Later, as a young man he will attain prominence as the ambitious leader of New America; the newly formed renegade government in Rochester, NY. The Battle for Concord commanded the closing of this volume. The volumes were exciting and the characters were wonderful. Highly recommended, especially if you can get the box sets. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Amazing series

Can't wait for the next one!! There are some issues with grammar but they don't detract from the story. I have read all 6 books in 48 hours and will definitely re-read them.

Just ok

The story was decent.
It was hard to swallow the lack of foreign intervention into the decimated U.S. east coast from UN or another agency.
On top of that, the frequent bad punctuation and misspelled words was distracting.

I enjoyed books 1-3, but Scott really stepped it up in books 4-6. I enjoyed the story and I was drawn more into the characters. The tension rose nicely to the final battle. Well done.

I loved this series! I don’t usually buy kindle books but my library didn’t have books 4-6 and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.

Read (heard?) single novels already: most are cliffhangers but #6 is a proper wrap-up. Exciting plots (all) well performed by Adam Barr.
