I really enjoyed reading this novel. It is a clean and YA appropriate romance about a girl that is a celestial divisa, and the arrogant 'bad boy' that enters her life when he shows up at a place where she volunteers regularly to work off his community service. If you are a fan of paranormal reads, you will probably enjoy reading this book.

The Blogger vs the Bad Boy by Kellie McAllen a five-star read that will make you fall for both. This is the second book in the Celestia Divisa Collection and what a great story, this was written so well, each character tells their own story and each story interacts the two main characters in this they book are Charisse Arella and Jake Henley both are characters that on the surface both seem to have the perfect life Risse has her blog that she gives kindness and beauty tips and Jake is Handsome, rich and popular and has a following of his own, but underneath there is so much more. This was a heart-wrenching story that you won’t be able to put down. This story has so much running under the surface as well as lessons to learn and I know I learnt something, just as much as Risse and Jake did if not more. What a great story, Thank you Kellie McAllen for being a great writer.

This is the second story in the Date with Destiny series, each book can be read as a standalone.
This second book is about Risse, Zeph from book 1's little sister, and Jake.
I loved their story.

I didn't like this book as much as the first. It was still nice in it's own way, and still enjoyable, but the first had an element that this one lacked. Maybe it's because of the time gap between the first book and this one. Maybe it's because the writing was lacking in this one. Or maybe it's because the characters were different. Regardless of the reason why, something didn't sit the same way. It was still an easy fluffy read, but more of this one rang false than the first. I wasn't really a story that I could completely dive into. I felt like a spectator the entire time, rather than a reader being welcomed into the story. So while it was still a nice story, it was less enjoyable than I had hoped.

The second book in the series surpasses the first which is a huge feat. Kellie McAllen writes of the good things in life and the sometimes bad things that we must go through to grow and come out the other end a better person. The characters are so real that you feel you are there with them sharing their laughter, their tears and their fears. You feel a part of the happy family of Risse and the loneliness of Jake.
Watching Jake grow and feel needed and accepted for the first time in his life gives a warm feeling inside.
A must read for lovers of romance without the need for raunchiness.

Great read. Well written with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish. Charisse has her own blog and she posts some unkind things about Jake. Jake is rich but was not given love or attention very much. Soon Charisse realises that Jake isn't as bad as she once thought. Jake learns love and kindness from the elderly at the nursing home and Charisse. And Jake gets his HEA. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Another fine story from Ms McAllen.
Charisse or Risse is a Celestia Divisa, half angel, half human with the gift of kindness. Her soul mate turns out to be a young man who is rude and cocky and an individual she doesn't much like. Read this story to find out how they come to get together - you won't be disappointed! This book can be read as a standalone.

So, going into this book, I had no idea it was a 'sweet, clean romance.' I usually tend to read dirty/erotic romances.
But this was good, actually. I liked Jake a lot, and I was actually blown away by the revelation of who Rebecca really was.
I'm not entirely sure I'm going to keep reading this series, purely for financial reasons. If books 3 and 4 are ever free, I will happily pick them up!

Disappointed

I do not watch or read anything partaining to supernatural beings unless it is related to my Christian beliefs. This novel was not what I thought it would be, I was disappointed.

what a lovely series. This novel has such a range of emotions, from hate, misunderstandings, love and many more. I don't want to give anything away, as you should experience the author's style of writing yourself. I feel there is always a hidden meaning in these book, this one is definitely Don't judge a book by its cover' (if you will excuse the pun) or maybe it's just me that judges my own downfalls, either way, read this book and find a beautiful written story waiting for you

I have fallen in love with the Celestia Divisa series. In this second installment, Charisse Arella, younger sister of Zephaniah, is volunteering at a nursing home where the old congregation leader, Dominion Connan, is living. One day while she is is working, a new volunteer, Jake, arrives. He is serving community service for a traumatic prank he pulled on the Homecoming Queen at his prep screens. He comes across arrogant and and rude, and Risse takes an instant dislike to him. As they get to know each other better, she realizes that down deep he is a good young man, and tries to fight her growing attraction for him, as he is trying to figure out how to get closer to her. After an incident at the nursing home lands him back in court and Risse does everything she can to help him, she realizes that he needs a miracle. The only problem is that among the Celestia Divisa, performing a miracle causes the miracle worker and the recipient to fall in love forever. Will she be able to give Jake the miracle he needs?

This book is so well written, and the author addresses many of the issues facing teens today. In this book, the issue is anger, being unable to meet parental expectations, and growing up in a single parent family. All of these are handled with such sensitivity, but also in a realistic way. I love to way that this book shows the moral way for teens to be in a relationship. There is no sex or bad language, and I value that in a book meant for teens. Unfortunately, so many teens won't be interested in learning the proper way to begin a relationship.

I was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Loving Kindness by Kellie McAllen is the second book in the Celestia Divisa Collection and happens around 2 years after the end of Discerning Spirits.

Risse is half angel, half human, and her talent is Kindness. She's been volunteering at the local Retirement Community home when a new volunteer joins.

The new volunteer is Jake with a bad boy image. He's at the Retirement home due to a community service sentence. The first impression he gave Risse was so bad that Risse blogged about it later that day.

Risse and Jake are complete opposites and yet they cannot stop thinking about each other. While working together at the Retirement home, they got to know each other really well and things went on from there. Due to Jake's reckless actions at the Retirement home, he couldn't finish his 100 hours of community service and had to appear in front of the Judge. Risse found several character witnesses for Jake and he was able to continue volunteering at the Retirement home, but then a twist in the plot happens around then. Risse was able to help Jake get through that and in the end they fell in love with each other.

Loving Kindness is yet another short and sweet read and Kellie McAllen is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors!

4.5 stars. With all the 5 star reviews, had to use 4 so you would believe it really is this good & not just all family reviewers that are not to be trusted. That said, I have read all Kellie’s books and very much enjoy this author.

The second book in Celestia Divisa series follows Zeph’s little sister Risse. Jake is not like any of the people she knows. Although he is quite full of himself and she decides he is a total jerk, even going so far as to use him as a bad example on her blog post, she continues to be surprised by getting glimpses into a sweeter nature beneath his tough guy exterior. And he begins to question his assumptions about what is important and how the world works. It is a delight to follow their budding friendship and the changes each is bringing about in the other. Supporting character Dominion is amusing and insightful; very interesting how he connects with Jake and encourages reflection with understated and soft-sell methods.

This series, while billed as YA Romance, is appropriate for all ages. And the angel angle (type that 3 times fast without messing up. Tongue twister for the fingers!) is not preachy or overly religious, so should not offend anyone regardless of their personal beliefs. A beautiful sweet story (and probably 4.8 stars).

Beauty Isn't Only Skin Deep!

This book begins a couple of years after the events of Discerning Spirits. It is Charisse's story and follows her exploration into her own talent of 'kindness' and what that means. This is once again a sweet, clean teen romance that could be told around many a high schools.

Seemingly bad boy Jake is carrying out his community service at Sunnybrook, a nursing home Charisse also volunteers at and it soon becomes clear that first impressions aren't always correct as Charisse realizes over the course of the book. Once again the Dominion is present and it was nice to see more of his humor come across while he was guiding his angel and her love. It was also nice to catch up with Zeph, Eve, Cheydan and Maddock.

Once again Kellie has written a nice romance that is thought-provoking and has a simple message.
There are a few more religious references in this one than the previous book but actually it didn't put me off as some books with religious messages can but, they were actually added in the right places to the story and the lessons learnt. I can't wait to see Cheydan and Maddock's story in Double Blessing, the next installment of the Celestia Divisa Series.

This series about half human/half angels is so inspiring. The author shows that the angels are not perfect. Their human side makes them more real, with their flaws and imperfections, but their angel side means they always aspire to be kind, gentle, and loving, and to do good. Charisse is supposed to always be kind, but bad boy Jake initially brings out the not so nice. She has unkind thoughts about him, and says unkind things on her blog.(She doesn't mention his name though because remember she is part angel). In working with him she learns that even though he comes from a rich background, he is poor in having been given love and attention. Jake also learns kindness and love from not only Charisse, but the sick, and elderly patients at the nursing home. Revelations about Jake's past mean miracles and divine intervention are needed to heal old wounds and heartache. This story is inspirational, and a must read. After reading it you will feel so happy and it will remind you that the power of love and goodness, not only exists, but can heal, and do great things. Be kind to your neighbor, friend or someone you meet who needs a helping hand. The good you do will come back to you tenfold.

Risse is part of the Celestia Divisa ,a group of half humans/half angels who have special gifts. Risse's gift is loving kindness and currently she is practicing this at the Sunnybrook Retirement Community, where she volunteers in her spare time. Her loving kindness is tested when Jake, a boy about her age, begins his community service at the nursing home. Jake does not have a good family life and this manifests itself in his rude behavior. The more time Risse spends around him she discovers that there is a decent person underneath it all. In her quest to help him will she give him the miracle he needs, which will cause her to fall in love with him?

The second book in the Celestia Divisa Collection, this story may be read as a stand-alone book. I enjoyed this book even more than I did the first one Discerning Spirits. Charisse is forced to work with the biggest jerk on the planet but her gift of kindness helps her deal with him. This book is well written and edited with engaging characters dealing with interesting challenges. I find this world of half-angels uniquely delightful. I couldn’t put the book down until the very last page. I look forward to reading more by this author. I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Risse is beautiful, kind and loving. In addition to all of her other activities, she volunteers at a nursing home. Jake got into some trouble and had to do community service at the nursing home. When Risse first met Jake, she thought he was rude, arrogant and not a very good person. Jake has spent his whole life not being good enough in his dad's eyes, so he isn't surprised when the pretty girl looked down her nose at him. Usually pretty girls chased him and now there was one he would have to chase. He realizes that Risse is so different than anyone else and it makes him want to be a better person. Can Risse help him give up a lifetime of bad behavior?

I couldn't put this book down before finishing it.
At the beginning, I think we all have the same impression as Risse about Risse. But when we get to know him a little better, we can understand that his erratic behavior is his defense mechanism for all he suffered in his life.
And when Risse decides to give a chance to the new boy and shows all her kindness, things eventually get better for them.
I loved all the characters and plot twists.
This is an amazing and well written story.

I really like Mrs. McAllen's books and this one is no different. This one is a bad boy turned good with the help of is angel. My heart broke for this bad boy and was glad to see him get his HEA. It was also nice to revisit other characters from previous books. If you like clean, sweet romances with a paranormal twist, I would recommend Mrs. Mcalen's books.
