I want the perfect man, and Ace Knight isn’t him. He’s a foul-mouthed, pothead, tattooed bastard. He may have saved my life, but he also cost me my nursing career with one smug kiss. Now I’m broke, homeless, and jobless.
I wanted a man in a suit. Tall, dark, and handsome. Not broken, cursing, and cynical.
Knight thinks I’m the perfect woman for him.Perfect to help him keep his ex-wife from inheriting his millions. I can’t refuse his offer. I need the money.
But what if he expects me to…sleep with him. I can’t…I won’t…until he smirks and then I’m toast. I think I need a new plan.
Bad boy + flawed girl does not equal perfect.
From USA Today Bestselling Author Ella Miles comes a steamy standalone romance!
Ella Miles writes sexy romance with strong females that could kick your butt if you piss them off, which they often do to the men that fall for them. She's currently living her own fairy tale near the Rocky Mountains with her high school sweetheart husband. Her heart is also taken by her goofy two year old black lab that is scared of everything, including her own shadow. Ella is the author of the Aligned series. Mila has a damaged, traumatic past. Knight has a horrible, bent on revenge ex (almost) wife. When these two come together, sparks are flying all over the place. Lust and love and hate and pain are in their futures, just as they were in their pasts.
Mila has a plan for her future, and Ace Knight most definitely does not belong in her plan. But when he proposes a new plan to her, will she accept? Of course, because thanks to him she's jobless and homeless.
God, these two had such a twisted, angsty path to their HEA. Honestly, sometimes I felt a bit crazed because I wasn't sure they'd ever get there. Knight was a serious ass throughout most of this story that I wanted Mila to kick him to the curb. He managed to redeem himself, barely, thank God. And Mila was able to finally see her way through the horrible pain she'd been enduring for far too long.
Although this isn't as dark as some of Ella's past writing, it's still pretty twisty and angsty, with her signature sexy style. I like the way their story weaved in and out, and it's plotted impeccably. The only reason I took off a star is because I wanted a much harsher resolution for someone in Knight's life. Trust me, that person deserved much worse than they actually got! Aside from that, though, I really liked Finding Perfect.
Oh I loveeee this full of angst enemies to lovers romance read. He's the opposite of what she wants, she's what he needs to get what he wants. Both knew it'll all end up with brokenhearts, but the chemistry too strong to just let it go, they desperately need each other. Yup this one has complicated written all over it and surely there's a lot of frustrations and emotional moments. And I love how Ella Miles keeps me intrigued with what actually happened in the past throughout the book, it made me can't put it down. As for characters, Mila and Knight, both are such a strong characters, both struggles to find their freedom from the past and both determined to get what they want, even though they really frustrating, I can't not root for them. This two broken people are a perfect couple for me with all those flawless.
If you love enemies to lovers romance read packed with angst and emotions, this one is a MUST-READ for you.
**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**
I was really looking forward to this but I ended up disappointed.
This whole story felt disjointed. At first, I thought it was just the first few chapters but it continued throughout. I liked the various parts but I didn't think they worked well together. The chemistry between the two was lacking; the timelines were a little off; and some plot points just didn't seem logical. Of course, you have that classic Ella Miles twist in there (where the story takes a turn you've never anticipate) but even that felt underdeveloped.
On the surface, I like both characters. Mila has drive and strives for independence so I enjoy that in my heroines. Ace has that bad boy exterior but sweetheart interior that is irresistible. However, I wasn't impressed by them when it was all said and done; and I think the quick, chemistry-less romance was the reason for that.
I just didn't see the draw between these two besides contention and proximity. It started so promising too because they really had some conflict at the start and I love a good "hate to love you" romance. But the shift from hate to love just didn't work for me.
This isn't my favourite Ella Miles novel and that's a shame because I think all the right ingredients were there.
Even with the knowledge that this writer writes romances with a twist, the twist in this book was way too generous and glorious for Abri, Ace's villainous wife who took EVERYTHING from him. The loss of her child was HER fault, yet she's so insane she blames everyone else for her mistakes and actions that don't turn out. She tried to kill her own husband. She coldbloodedly set out to trap him into falling in love with her so she'd have access to all he had. In spite of his potential to still earn millions, it doesn't sit well with me that they let her get away with attempted murder and ill-gotten divorce proceeds. She'll probably hurt more people before too long - sociopathic people do. Very unsatisfying ending. Half star.
What an interesting book and a plot. Knight and Mila are two entwined souls who did not realize that they had a connection until it was too late for at least one of them. I so wished that the evil person got their just reward but that didn't happen which made the story even better in some ways. Everything Knight did was for Mila but she did not realize it until it was too late. You think you know why Knight is going what he's doing, but you don't really, and Mila, she is really the innocent one in this even though she is guilty. Wow, just wow how the story unflolds, it was really a page turner. I highly enjoyed it.
I received this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
I wanted to like this more but unfortunately the ending was not the best. They got a HEa. However, Abri or whatever her name is got nothing bad in return for the horrible things she did. In fact she got all his money, his house, his company, and even got engaged. She needed to be taken down. I did like finding out the about the past that Knight and Mila shared though.
OMG! Best Ella Miles book I've read yet! Mila and Knight are imperfectly perfect for each other, but both are too broken to realize it. Mila is much stronger than she realizes and I seriously want to throat punch her brother and sister. Knight is officially my favorite book boyfriend. He is alpha without being too much of a jerk, he's strong yet vulnerable. You just can't help but love him. Great story line, steamy scenes and totally likable characters. A definite must read!
I liked it. I think it was my first read by this author and won't be my last. I liked the layers and was quite impatient to figure out Abri. I like the ending. I find that stuff doesn't matter but people....good people do matter.
I found this book a bit hard to get into but once I got over that little hump I couldn’t stop reading. There are so many secrets that need to be opened up that you can’t help but get totally addicted to this story. Mila and Ace’s story was unique and funny. And you just can’t help but fall in love with them.

I'm not even sure if I want to give this two stars... The struggle was real with this one. Literally made me grunt in frustration. I get that this is a fictional book but I'm supposed to forget that and just be invested in the story. Too many situations were unrealistic. The story line did nothing for me and what the hell happened with the climax?? What I REALLY want an explanation on is how 405 people gave this an average rating of 3.92 stars!
This was a great book with an interesting storyline of love, tragedy, and heartbreak and plenty of chemistry. The characters are well developed and engaging and held my attention throughout the book.

WOW!!! What a poignant and suspenseful book. This gives you a ride up and down, back and forth with twists and turns. When reading about Mila Burns she recounts the sadness and misery that has surrounded her in the past. In order to exist in a world full of chaos, she plans every step of her life. This way she is prepared and knows exactly what to do and exactly when to do it. This preparation makes her feel she knows what to expect. As a twenty-two-year-old nursing student with only months to graduate, she works in the ER. She meets Ace Knight, twenty-four, on a hiking trail he kinda sorta forced her onto to. She finds him dangerous, threatening and mysterious. She likes what she sees, but she is also aware he is totally not what she thinks she longs for. Her sister Ren has the life she wishes for. A wealthy husband, a successful practice, she is a pediatrician and she has two gorgeous kids, a boy and a girl. Her brother Henry shows up at the hospital she works at. Her boss Felicity thinks Henry is a boyfriend or some such thing. But he is there about "the anniversary" and to make sure Mila does not do anything stupid. She meets Cole Traver. He came into the ER because of a car accident. From his clothes and his Rolex watch he screams money. He is enamored with Mila and wants her number to set up a date. He is exactly what she is looking for. On her rounds she checks in on a patient and is shocked to see Knight. One thing leads to another and Knight forces a kiss on Mila. Right at that moment her supervisor, Felicity, walks in and tells her she is fired for the indiscretion. Mila is devastated. Cole is released from the hospital and goes to Mila's campus to find her. They cross paths and she unburdens herself and tells him what happened. Cole tells her to meet him later for a job opportunity. Then Knight shows up on his motorcycle. Mila cannot believe he dare show his face. So, she kisses Cole to make Knight go away. All Knight does is punch Cole in the eye and leaves. He never did say why he was there. Mila has nowhere to live, no job, suspended from school for a semester and only has twenty bucks to her name. She refuses to go to her sister or brother for help. So, she follows up on Cole's offer for a job. When she gets to her destination she finds it is a strip club and Cole is with Knight. Instead of turning around and leaving she needs a job more than dealing with Knight. Cole has talked Knight into hiring Mila as his assistant. Knight has ulterior motives for hiring Mila but offers her $250,000 for five months of her doing whatever he says. She rules out sex and anything illegal, other than that she accepts. Mila has perfect memory. If she hears it she will not forget it. She whips Knight's emails, phone calls, appointments, meetings and schedule into shape. Knight is impressed. But Mila still thinks Knight is an arrogant, rude, @sshole. Then Mila meets Abri, Knight's soon to be ex-wife. Abri tries to butter Mila up with the idea of a friendship. But Abri has ulterior motives. She wants to hurt Knight any way she can starting with Mila. Abri endangers Mila's life but Knight appears and saves her. Abri acts like she did not know Mila was in danger and tries to act all contrite. Mila is not buying it. Abri was trying to fill Mila's head with falsehoods about Knight. So, in front of Abri, Mila grabs Knight and passionately kisses him. He kisses her right back. Try as they might, their attraction soon turns hot and they can no longer resist. After Mila falls asleep she starts to have nightmares and screams. Knight comes to her to calm her down. He spends the rest of his night holding her. When they work together Knight turns right back into being a hard@ss and Mila lets him know that. Ren calls Mila and demands she go to Aspen for the weekend to visit her and her family to discuss why she was expelled from school. Mila puts two and two together and remembers that Abri is a close high school friend of Ren. She asks Knight for the weekend off to visit her sister and he invites himself along. He asks Abri to take care of the company for the weekend. But she tells him she has other plans, she plans on going to Aspen. Knight knows Abri is planning something nefarious and is determined to protect Mila from her. When Mila arrives at Ren's home, she is reminded of where she grew up. Ren puts Mila and Knight in her old bedroom. That night Mila has more nightmares than ever before. She reveals that she can't remember anything after an incident that caused extreme suffering on her family. Then Ren chews Mila out when she realizes that Knight is Abri's husband. Knight puts his foot in his mouth and reveals he has met her before. Mila brokenhearted runs away. This is the beginning of the serious trials and tribulations Mila, Knight and Abri live through. A very exciting read and the ending is nothing like I expected. I highly recommend this book. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Knight And Mila's Playful Banter Grabs You And Their Chemistry Keeps You Reading In This Angsty Story!
With carefully crafted schedules and plans, Mila Burns, twenty-two, strives for normal. Safe is good when there is so much heartbreak, tragedy, and loss amidst the chaos. Five years ago was the worst day of her life, though she can't recall much of it. But things are on track now. She plans to finish up her nursing degree at UC Denver next semester and find a nice husband this year. No more bad boys for her. Maybe then she will fit in and be accepted.
Ace Knight, twenty-four, is the founder and CEO of the hugely successful Perfect Match. Tall, dark, handsome, and muscled, he is the vision of a tattooed Greek god. He looks fabulous in his tailored suits, but he likes to ditch them for his leather jacket on occasion, basking in his bad boy ways. His marriage of five years has not faired as well as his business. It is well over; all that remains is for a final agreement. He desperately wants freedom.
When Mila crosses paths with the hugely annoying biker bad boy, she knows he is dangerous to her and works hard to not get caught in his web. But an unshakable connection binds Mila and Knight together and they soon find themselves immersed in one another's lives. They need each other. She needs money. He needs help that only she can provide. They agree to be honest, but both hold secrets in their unspoken words.
Knight and Mila are a memorable couple. Their playful banter contasts nicely with the dark, serious tone of the book. There is great depth to the the couple's complicated feelings. They are both broken souls. Knight acts the bad boy, but despite his inner conflict, he often exercises great restraint. He is the perfect combination of a CEO and biker! Mila's difficult past makes her a vulnerable figure, yet she shows courage and strength. Trust is a problem as Mila and Knight get to know one another, but their deep connection holds them together even through all the hate. They eventually dredge through their respective tragic pasts, which causes them to shatter. But their chemistry is insane and cannot be denied, so they eventually pick up the pieces. Mila and Knight's beautiful love story will sit with you long afterward. They absolutely deserve their HEA!
The book is mostly well-written with just a handful of errors. The story is mysterous as the past is unraveled. The plot is complex and sometimes heavy. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

* I was gifted an ARC of this new book in exchange for my honest & heartfelt review of it which follows:
I have always enjoyed Ella Miles' books & have found another good one here. I especially enjoy her darker side, but this is not one of those, but is a worthy read nonetheless.
This book centers around Mila, nursing school student, who has some sort of trauma in her past which is alluded to often, but we can't see what it is yet. Makes a person very curious! In the 1st chapter, we see her almost literally run into a strange, seemingly dangerous man on a motorcycle who almost makes her run off the road. The 1st thing she notices about him when they stop is that he is a handsome, tattooed bad boy type of guy..the kind she has to stay far away from. This type of man can only bring trouble into her well ordered & perfectly planned out life. Seems like someone like this has might have interfered in her life before.
Ace Knight, aka, Knight, has also had some bad moments in his life recently as in a very bitchy & vengeful ALMOST ex-wife. He loved her once, but not at all now, but he is very interested in this spunky & sassy Mila now! Too bad she obviously hates him on 1st site.
Sparks instantly fly, hate, lust are all there in Mila's eyes but what does Knight see & feel? Mila just wants to forget she's met this a$$hole & get back to her perfect plan, finish school, but will Knight be able to forget this attraction he has for her?
This story has some major twists that begin 5 years prior & continue into the present with both MC's. Trauma has kept Mila from remembering things from her past, but Knight has some secrets she might wish she knew about. You will be surprised at the turn of events so keep your eyes wide open to the clues. Read this & enjoy another great story from the mind of Ella Miles. Recommend!
This story is not your typical rich man young woman romance. Mila is a student who will get her nursing degree in one more month. She is driving on a mountain on the anniversary of something that occurred five years before…but she cannot remember! She does not get along with her siblings and she is a mess. A guy on a motorcycle almost causes her to crash and she stops on a side road. He gets off and takes off jogging. She goes for a hike but hurts her ankle, he saves her and promises they will meet again (after she runs over his motorcycle lol). One night at work their paths cross again but this time he is a patient. He ends up getting her fired and suspended from school and work. Now, he gives her an offer she cannot refuse!! But the stakes are much higher than either realize! His going to be ex is crazier than what people know and wants everything he has and then some. His best friend keeps kissing Mila and Knight keeps giving him black eyes! Mila is staying in Knight’s apartment getting closer to him all the time. But, now time has run out…turns out he knew her somewhat and Abri knows her sister and they both know what happened~ Now Abri is out for revenge~ What will happen? What did happen? Will Abri kill them? Will she gain control of everything? Will Mila and Knight end up together? This is the story of two broken people who are trying to find the perfect person for each of them and life! It is an awesome story with a high heat signature! I received this book via Book sprout and am leaving a voluntary review.
This is an interesting book and I found myself all over the place with liking it at times and not liking it in others, which I consider good writing since I was reacting to the characters. We meet Ace Knight when he manipulates Mila into a hiking trail and rescues her when she falls and is injured. When he ends up sometime later as a patient in the hospital where Mila Burns works, he grabs her and kisses her, right in front of her supervisor! She loses her job for inappropriate behavior and the nursing career she was about to attain slips through her fingers!
Both of the main characters have difficult pasts with secrets they hide inside. They don’t want to have an attraction to each other, but they can’t seem to avoid it either. Knight needs her to help him with his piece-of-work ex-wife, and she needs him because he placed her in a jobless, homeless situation! The multitude of twists and turns are done very well and offer many surprises. The characters are strong but broken, fighting to free themselves from the past yet intertwined. Will they get what they need from each other? Will they turn to each other and find a new beginning? Will they even survive the schemes of his crazy wife?
This was a wild ride with so much going on. But overall, it was worthwhile reading. Grab your copy and follow the crazy happenings, some unbelievable, some upsetting, some satisfying. But the reader will be drawn into the experience – a good one or bad one? But definitely exciting!
This is one of those times when I really wish we could give half stars. My preferred rating for this book is 3.5 stars. There is a buried secret between Knight and Mila. They each know part of it and the full truth might destroy them. This story had a lot of angst and an instant attraction between Knight and Mila that I sometimes didn't understand. He was such a jerk it was hard to see what she saw in him sometimes.
For me, the big reveal was a bit of a let down. So much importance was put on this secret. I don't think it warranted so much drama. Mila's life has been incredibly hard - her family treats her terribly for a five year old mistake. There was so much angst it was sometimes hard to see the hope in the story. I would have preferred more sweetness, more romance and at least a little forgiveness. From everyone including Knight's ex-wife who is over the top.
This story is about two characters who must struggle through buried pain to try to find the brightness in being together. There was steamy lust and interesting characters, with way more darkness than light. Overall, a heavy but satisfying read which would have benefited from a little more humor or light, IMO.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review. No one twisted my arm or stranded me on the side of a cliff until I wrote this.
OMG, I loved this book! I hated for it to end! There was so much steamy action going on! Boy meets wounded girl, girl falls for Knight, Knight in love with another girl, and danger follows them both! It’s not every day that a girl with a perfect memory gets the opportunity to work for a hot blooded millionaire! When the offer is made, destitute Mila can’t turn it down, even though she may have to work100 hours a week for the next six months. The six-figure payout will help Mila get on her own feet. What she doesn’t expect is that Ace Knight will house, feed and clothe her.....in his own high-rise apartment. Mila doesn’t mind that she will probably be required to sleep with him....she wants to. Knight leads her to his own bedroom, but refuses to sleep in the same bed as her. Instead, he decides to sleep in one of his guest bedrooms. That is The beginning of what becomes a love/hate relationship between the two. What is unexpected is that Knight’s business partner and soon-to-be ex wife has a hatred for both Knight and Mila. As secrets begin to unravel, danger creeps into their lives. What doesn’t tear them apart will serve to make them stronger. Couldn’t put this book down!

Mila is definitely a survivor. She has her whole life planned out and a huge spanner is thrown into the mix the day she literally runs into Ace Knight. He is a cocky, arrogant, motorcycle riding bad boy that she knows she should stay far away from. However, things take a turn for the weird and unusual when he kisses her after being in an accident and she ends up losing her job and her scholarship.
Now Mila is homeless, jobless and penniless.. what's a girl to do? Luckily Knight has his own grand designs for Mila. He needs her help to destroy his ex Abri and make sure she gets nothing before their divorce is finalised. There were so many secrets along the way, each more explosive and powerful than the last. Can these two find happiness amongst all the truth and lies? Only time will tell. I really liked the chemistry between Mila and Knight, fighting or not, loving or hating there was always passion. I really enjoyed their story. I recieved an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
This is not my first book by this author and will definitely not be my last. I love her writing and creative stories that she creates. Meet Mila and Ace. Mila is working in the ER and going to college to become a nurse. When Ace and his best friend, Cole show up in the ER as they were in a car accident. Mila's supervisor, Felicity kinda hates her and assigns her to check in Ace and Cole. Mila ends up getting fired as Ace kisses her and her supervisor walks in. Ace crosses paths with Mila once more to offer her a job. He needs someone to help him keep his millions away from his soon to be ex-wife. Of course, she will be paid for her efforts and Mile adds a 'no sex' clause to the business arrangement. This story is full of twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages until the end. Another well written story with amazing characters by this author. Enjoy!

This story goes a lot deeper and darker than that blurb suggests. On the surface, there really isn’t anything functional about this group of broken souls. Some are broken by circumstance, while others have chosen for themselves to be and stay broken. And yet, for Mila and Knight, there’s some kind of connection that goes beyond their animosity and allows them to function together as if they were almost whole. There are lots of secrets and lies swirling behind the scenes and any one of them could tear apart the house of cards that’s become their lives. Because of all of this, I spent a lot of the book asking: “what the heck is going on here?” and desperately flipping pages to find out the answer. I devoured this story in record time; needing to see what miracle it would take for everything to come right in the end. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
Enemies to lovers with a deep connection that could make or break our two main characters.
Knight and Mila are two broken souls and their story comes with lots of drama and edge. It was fascinating to read about where they both started out not only in the story but also as a characters to where they finish up. The storyline was different and full of twists which kept me hooked. My only criticism of the book was Abri, I really disliked her as a character and felt Knight gave into her demands far too quickly, I guess that at the same time he had to do this in order to start again with Mila but I still felt it was a bit too easy for Abri, especially when she had been found out and confronted.

Well this is a story that rips you first one way then the next As far as the hero was concerned sometimes I liked Ace Knight other times I hated him but isn't that great story telling
Ace Knight is a manipulator and he has his sights set on Mila Burns first he manipulates her to go hiking where she is injured Then when he reconnects with her in the hospital where he kisses right in front of her supervisor her causing her to lose her job and become homeless and this is all because he needs her help to fight against his psycho ex wife. So begins a twisty and turny read where they both have damaging pasts they both have walls but they are getting knocked down as they spend more time with one another Do they have a future or will she walk away from this pretend engagement when it comes to an end.
Surprising and unpredictable romance I loved this novel whose beginning does not predict the continuation and the end. It's very well written, hot and the characters are excellent, quite complex. I never read this author and loved her story. Once started, it is impossible to let the book down until you know the secrets of Knight and Mila's past. After a meeting with Knight by chance on a mountain road, which is already going badly because she hurt herself, then an action that he does in the hospital, while she is treating him, which made her fired of her nursing clinical rotation and the university because of him, Mila, finds herself working for Knight for obscure reasons, but whose goal seems to be that she hates him at the end, which is already it since the beginning. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Another unique read from this author which doesn't surprise me because her writing is unique to say the least. When we meet the main characters it's obvious that there's something the reader is not privy to which makes this read all the more interesting and mysterious! Knight and Mila are multi-dimensional characters and broken souls who come together with passion, anger and a multitude of emotions. Throw Cole into the mix and you've got the perfect contemporary, but unique, romance novel that will keep you reading into the night! Ella's characters are always well developed and entertaining, steamy and explosive and just downright fascinating. Do yourself a favor and please put this author on your TBR list.
Finding Perfect by Ella Miles is one of those epic romance stories where everything collides. Mila and Knight colliding is just the tip of the iceberg. I loved these characters, both of them strong when faced with challenges, trauma and tragedy. There are also several supporting characters, all well developed and integral to the pieces revealed of the past. Ella Miles threw me for a bit of a loop with one such revelation! It was awesome and neatly set up the rest of Mila and Knight’s story. Nicely done! Overall a very well written book I enjoyed a great deal, including finding the perfect HEA at the end. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
ONE TANTALIZING EXPERIENCE!!! OMG! Ella brought out the big guns on this steamy agreement. A bevy of surprising mishaps and unfortunate circumstances keep you flipping page after page. A rollercoaster ride with a plethora of swirling emotions burst into play front and center. One sizzling storyline and intriguing plot bring this little gem blazing to life flawlessly. The characters are authentic and realistic with personalities and depth that draw you in. All the drama, action, uncertainty, angst and suspense melds all the pieces together for one wild ride. The scenes are so vividly detailed it gives the illusion you were right there with them. Fantastic job Ella, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
