Warren O’Neil is a single dad constantly juggling two very different lifestyles. While trying to be the best father he can to his young son, he’s also a devoted member of the notorious Savage Kings MC.
War never claimed he was perfect at either role, but he knows that he's a helluva lot better parent than his junkie ex-wife.
Nova McQueen doesn't like being the bad guy who rips kids from their homes. She’s only trying to protect them from neglect and abuse.
And while the big, dirty-talking biker may have once given Nova a wild weekend that she’ll never forget, War is as far from father of the year as you can get. His participation in a motorcycle gang makes Nova certain that his son is in danger.
There's a storm on the horizon; and as tempers flare, a natural disaster may destroy more than just the town the Savage Kings has built.
But it’ll take more than an act of God himself to take War's son away from him.
And Nova can’t decide if she wants to continue to fight the biker’s wrath or succumb to him.
This is the fourth novel in the Savage Kings MC series. While War can be read as a standalone, the preferred reading order is:
Lane Hart is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, D.B. West, and their two children. She loves all things beach related, especially sea turtles, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers.
I love single father romances and I was especially excited to read War’s story. The previous books in this series gave us tidbits of his problems with his wife/ex-wife. Now that she’s been sober for a few months, his son is off to stay for the weekend leaving War feeling lonely and a bit lost. What started out as a depressing weekend, ends up being one hot and steamy event when he hooks up with good girl Nova. Unfortunately, things take a drastic turn and in the process War ends up losing the very thing that is most dear to him.
This story had a lot of veins running through it and I was never sure which direction it was going to take. Nova was dedicated to her job and uncertain of War. He was perfect in bed but not looking for a relationship. Her actions would be considered a conflict of interest and it bothered me a bit that she never gave much thought to the potential outcome. She was also keeping a huge secret from War which added to the angst.
War was a great father and family man. Everything he did was to provide and protect both his son and his sister. However, I did find him a bit off-putting when he turned his anger on Nova so easily. While I might not agree that it was deserved, I understood why Nova would think so. There is a lot of push and pull in this story that kept the tension amped up. But when this couple were together they were great. I loved seeing the easy way War was with her. I would’ve loved to see this couple in an epilogue further out or even just seen more of them as a couple when they weren’t being bombarded by trouble. They were just that perfect together.
This is a fast paced read with a pretty high heat level. Plenty of secondary characters from previous books and a set up for the next story. Yay Maddox! There isn’t much going on with the MC this time around but I suspect that’s all about to change. Eeek!
Picked this book up a second time and was loving it until 62%!!! Why!? Why did the authors have Nova push War to give her the disrespect punishment!? It ruined the book for me. It ruined the first 4 men of the series for me too. In this stupid punishment- If a chick slaps a Savage King in public, he and all the men, whom aren’t in jail, are present in church and she has to bend over their table, bare her ass to them all, while the punisher gives her a spanking for each member- unless ones in jail so his vote doesn’t count. She has to kiss the bearded kings skull on the table and apologize for slapping the offended. So stupid. It was a ritual that they don’t do now but most of the men miss. The last time it’s used is on War’s ex wife when she slapped him 4 yrs prior when he asked for a divorce. She slapped him at the clubhouse bar and she got the punishment. The men used to do it with the their hands but it got out of hand as the women wanted them to do that to them so they decided to use a belt and then the women wanted to be screwed right there on the spot. Dumb dumb dumb. Anyway, when War tells Torin to call a meeting to do it- he’s like hell yes!! And asks if War plans to use a belt which he says yes. Like come on you pervert, you’ve got a woman who’s prego! It just made me dislike Torin even more and makes me feel like he never really loved either of his wives. Makes me ticked at Chase bc I actually liked him and makes me not care even more for Abe. It also makes me feel like War’s son being in CPS for 30 more days is an easy out for the authors to let War experience having sexual encounters with Nova without worrying about his son. When I didn’t feel that way at first. Plus War is awful to her!! He was a great guy until he couldn’t get his kid then worse when the hurricane came. He was awful and when she almost died- which I think that whole scene wasn’t as long or dramatic as I wish- then he decides oh snap, I do want to be with her! Well, I didn’t buy it after he blames her for everything even the hurricane. He’s also a jerk to her after he gets his kid back. One min he’s all in then out then in... its whiplash and I just can’t trust his whole I love you crap for her. He’s so quick to boot her before giving her the benefit of the doubt.

This book was good up until the 60ish percent where Nova decides to participate in the "ritual" spanking. Booooo, did not care for that part. Also, War cuts her off so quickly several times that I just got annoyed with him. Yes, I get that he is going to do whatever for his son but he doesn't even consider what Nova is saying. I didn't like this back and forth between them in the last part of the book and it definitely made me knock this one down a star. I'm still going to continue the series though.
This MC series is everything! I'm loving the Savage Kings! War was just so hot and awesome as the men before him. And Nova was the perfect match for him! Man did those 2 click. 🔥 All the things that led them to each other is exactly what makes you believe in fate! This story was a bit calmer than the others in the series, which was a nice change of pace. But it also eluded to drama on the horizon! I am so exited to treat about Maddox and if he finally gets patched in!
Can you see the smoke coming out of my eReader? This series started solid but now it's rock hard awesome!
So, War has tried to lead two separate lives for as long as he can remember; in one he's the loving caretaker of both his sister and son, in the other he's the sergeant-at-arms of Savage Kings MC. He's been doing his best to keep each life as separate as possible but now his association to the MC may cost him custody of his beloved son, or worse. Nova and him meet in the most random circumstances and what starts as fun sexy times becomes a fight to stop War's live(s) from crumbling down. These two were fire from the beginning. Their relationship was explosive in and outside the bedroom. Nova was smart, witty, and caring. She knew what she was getting into and owned her decisions. I love heroines that may make mistakes but own up to them so I definitely liked Nova's character. War had some anger issues that made him look terribly menacing but given the circumstances I guess his reactions were somewhat understable. In fact, I think it was that attitude that also made those around him feel protected (I'm not saying anger is ever ok, I'm only stating how I saw this character portrayed). In the end they make everything work out for them, too bad the MC seems to be in even more hot water than ever.
If you like explosive romance stories full of action, drama and funny, not to mention delightful sexy moments, then this is a story you will definitely want to read!

War was the fourth book in the Savage Kings MC series by the authors Lane Hart and DB West.
War was a single father as well as the guardian to his younger sister. He was also a patched member and the Sergeant At Arms for the Savage Kings MC. But he compartmentalized his life and kept the two worlds separate, until he couldn’t any longer.
Nova had recently moved to the small coastal town that housed the Savage Kings MC for her new job as a social worker for Child Services. She was totally committed to ensuring children were well cared for and in the best environment - not to mention the mountains of debt she had - that she rarely got out much. But luck would have it that her wild once in a life time one night, oops weekend, stand was her next case.
Although War and Nova hit it off, they immediately became enemies once Nova’s job was in full force. The authors took us through the conflict between the two while opening a new conflict within the MC. Within War his problems were concluded but the MC challenges were just beginning and will continue throughout the series. Next up is Maddox and has promise to be both entertaining and suspenseful.
Oh my lord... How can I keep my sanity? I can't... I can't... And let's face it I don't want to be sane...i want to be wild. Lol These two authors have made my days a bit brighter. Each new book gave me the opportunity to get out of my own mind. It's amazing the way D.B. West and Lane Hart melted my heart and... War is their latest release and it's the fourth book from the Savage Kings MC series. And I advise you to read all books in order to understand the stories better. Go for it and prepare to be amazed. This new book explores the lifes of Warren aka War and Nova. War is a single dad that has his life goal to keep raising his son and help his brothers from his MC. Being the Sargent-At-Arms his job is to be always alert and to protect his president at all costs. It's not easy to juggle these two lifestyles but he must do the best for his kid. Nova's life is to help kids. She's a social worker and her goal is to keep kids safe and put in lovely environments. She had her fare share of problems and a bunch of student loans to pay but living her life day by day is her mojo. When her path crosses with War... Jesus... I'm dying here. This series is getting better by the book. I'm so in love with this MC that I want more. Superb plot, super engaging and detailed with do much feelings and emotions in between. The interaction between the characters is intense, hot and spicy... Oh boy... What once started as a fling... This book give us a great example of how a parent should fight for his kid. How a parent needs to take care of the child even if the other part is useless. It was a joy to read this story and I really advise you to read all books. You will love them as much as I do. And.... Hot scenes alert... Jesus... Guys you nailed it. This book is fantastic and I can't wait for the next one... Oh Jesus... Just the new blurb put me on edge… I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Nova McQueen and we get Warren "War" O’Neil's story. In this book war wasn't looking to be father of the year but he does want his son safe. So when Nova a woman he had a hot weekend that he still remembers shows up he is ready to fight. Nova isn't looking for trouble but it sure seems to find her. So when she is sent out to the home of the one man she can't seem to forget she just figures it is more of case of bad luck. However when things go from bad to worse for War will he find the break he needs with this woman's help or will it all come crashing down around them both?
This is such an amazing story in this series. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you bout. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you on the edge of your seat from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Warren and Nova ...so good for each other. War has been out of the dating scene for years . He has his family to care for and no time for relationships. Sargent of Arms for the Savage MC and taking care of his son and providing for his sister has been his work and life. Until a woman in need on the side of the road stirs a feeling in him that he thought was long gone. Nova we can certainly say that she works hard for her money and yes her life has been a bit a bumpy ride. She has her Masters in social work , moved to the shore for a job , is buried under a mountain of medical bills and now her jalopy of a car has left her strained on the side of the highway. A lone stranger on a bike stops and oh my word he is certainly a site for sore eyes in more ways than one. This is the beginning of their journey that by no means will be a easy one! Get ready for a ride filled with immediate attraction, off the charts chemistry, angst, drama and a great story!!! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
This is definitely my favourite so far in the Savage Kings MC series. I love a single dad romance so I’ve been impatiently waiting for Wars story.
Having read the previous books in this series I went into Wars story already knowing the basics about War. He’s a single dad, with a junkie ex wife, who’ll do anything for his son. As Nova is about to find out when she’s called in following an incident and is tasked with the job of removing Wars son while an investigation is launched. To further complicate an already volatile situation Nova realised that she’s met War before and the chemistry between them is still as strong now as it was previously.
I loved this book. I loved War, Nova is the perfect woman for him and I found her really easy to like. I loved the story, even though it’s not MC based as the other books, it does include the rest of the MC and sets up for the next story in this series nicely.
Each book in the Savage Kings MC series that I read has me so intrigued and immersed in the story I'm unable and unwilling to put it down. War's story was definitely an emotional read, especially being a parent and putting myself in his shoes, knowing that like him I would tear the town down looking for my kiddos. War goes through hell being away from his son but finds the one person he shouldn't want willing to help take his mind off the situation until he can get his son back. War and Nova are an unlikely pair but in the end the only thing that matters is what the heart wants! This read was emotional, heart-wrenching and yet heartwarming at the same time! I highly recommend the Savage Kings MC series so start reading today.
I started this book, then stopped for a considerable amount of time before going back. I knew what was going to happen with Nova a part of CPS, and I knew I didn't really want to read that book. Still, I wanted to read more of the series, so I finally convinced myself to go back to the book.
I was okay. I didn't really care for Nova, and her character seemed really inconsistent to me. One second she was being bitchy and sanctimonious; the next she was asking for sex and offering for War to spank her in front of the club. He was angry and frightened for the safety of his kid but let himself get sidetracked with constant sex with the social worker who could totally destroy his life.
I just really hated the whole CPS aspect of this story--which is kind of the whole framework. If it hadn't been part of the series, I wouldn't have read the book because of it. I'm glad to move on to more of the series.
Not the kid, man. Don't mess with the kid. It's been a while that I've read a romance novel with pretty serious high stakes. I was so worried about little Ren. At least these books all have a HEA or I would riot. Really good book. I just didn't like some of the ahole decisions War made or how Nova is pretty judgy about the MC. So it's getting four stars from me.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a joy to see this big burly gruff biker fight for the one thing he loves more than his club. His son. Recommended read.
This is the fourth book in the Savage Kings series. I was excited to read War’s book from seeing him around in the previous stories. I will say he was a bit different from what I expected. He almost had this split personality. One minute was sweet, caring, affectionate….then he became almost cruel and calloused. I loved when he was being vulnerable and showing his softer side. When his uglier side came out….I wasn’t a fan. To give you some backstory, War (aka Warren O’Neil Sr.) had a son named Ren (Warren O’Neil Jr.). Ren’s mother was an addict and was never really involved in his life. War became closed off and completely gave up on finding love because he thought they were all like Ren’s mother, Marcie. This gave War major trust issues that we see throughout the book. While I understood why he was this way, it was quite hard seeing him take his problems out on Nova.
Nova McQueen is War’s love interest in this book. She’s fairly new to town and currently works as a social worker. This comes into play during the book but I won’t give away how. I felt quite bad for Nova’s character during the story. She seemed to always have the worst luck. Nova just couldn’t catch a break. I admire her determination with so many hardships in her life.
The romance in this was a bit of a let down. Once again, like in Torin’s book, it got a little kinkier than I enjoy reading. Nothing major but it still wasn’t my cup of tea. I honestly don’t know how Nova put up with War sometimes. He was frustrating me and I wasn’t even having to deal with him personally lol. I’m downing War a bit but he honestly took care of his family. He was always there for his son and even took care of his little sister as her guardian when they were younger. I think over time War will let that guard down and these trust/attitude issues will go away.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and love seeing this world through each club member’s eyes. I also like the updates we have on previous couples running in the background. It’s nice checking in on them to see how their relationships are progressing.
War/Nova. At first I thought the story was gonna be pretty good but than………Not sure I liked Nova too much. You don’t need to tell someone your medical history right when you meet them and you don’t have to pay someone back on your knees just because they do something nice for you. War was just to nice of a guy and too good to be true with his generosity. The story got weird with the “ritual” and the way that War saved everyone in the storm was too corny. Not much club business. Not one of my favorites in the series.
For adults only (18+ years) Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including adult language, steamy adult intimate scenes and violence (drug and alcohol dependency, Children's Services involved, fighting, etc.). If any of these types of situations are a trigger, or offensive to you, then this may not be the book or series for you.
I have read and enjoyed this series since the beginning. Somehow I seem to expect the quality of the writing to decline as can be the lot in life with a series. I am happy to say that I just keep getting more engaged and find myself looking forward to the next one.
This is the story of Warren, aka War, who has kept his personal life and MC life totally separate. Only a couple of people in the MC anything about what happened, or who are the people that are truly important to him, like his son.
Then he decided to lower his guard enough to trust that his ex-wife meant what she said since she had achieved 90 days clean and sober. She also passed the surprise inspection and tests War gave her ... so their son Ren would get his wish to spend more time with his mother.
War didn't trust her, or any women anymore, but he had a secret weapon, a smart watch that Ren wears all the time. So he reluctantly allows Ren to go with his Mom, leave War with nothing to do. So he calls and checks in with everybody, but nobody needs him to take care of them now, so he decides to go on a ride to clear his head.
Nora is the lowest on the list and always gets the cases that they don't want. She knows this and freely accepts it, but she just wished it came with more money. Had a major medical issue at 20 that has left her sterile and deeply in debt, plus the additional costs of college while earning her PhD. Plus it seems like there is a rain cloud right over her ... things keep going wrong.
For instance, got home to a very tiny shack that is all she can afford, has an AC unit that is not working. She has been after the landlord to fix it, but a month later and it is still not fixed. Then when she is on her way to at least buy a fan, her car stops running. She can't wait in the car, or sit on the trunk, etc. as the metal is too hot and now the cell phone service is not working! Then a handsome and rugged member of the Savage Kings MC stops to help. One thing leads to another and he ends up at her place, then they end up together all weekend ... until a phone call from his son reinforced his belief about women ...
I am going to stop there so I don't accidentally provide a spoiler or twist.
Just a few thoughts for you though:
War is a very good man, so can he leave her after their one-time escape from reality weekend when he figures out that times are hard for Nora? What about when their paths cross again since she is his son's case worker and they need to be professional, but their attraction to each other is as hot as ever?
WAR is the fourth instalment in the contemporary, adult SAVAGE KINGS MC erotic, romance MC series co-authored by Lane Hart and DB West. This is single father/ Sargeant at Arms Warren ‘War’ O’Neil, and social worker Nova McQueen’s story line. WAR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion as there is an on-going premise throughout.
NOTE: WAR contains scenes of spanking and discipline that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person points of view (Nova and War) WAR follows the quick building relationship between single father/ Sargeant at Arms Warren ‘War’ O’Neil, and social worker Nova McQueen. When her car breaks down on the side of the road Nova will come face to face with her future in the guise of the Savage Kings Sargeant At Arms Warren O’Neil. Broke and struggling to pay her bills, Nova offers herself up as payment in the only way she knows how. What ensues is the highly sexual, quick building relationship between Nova and War, and the potential fall-out as Nova is caught in the middle between the man with whom she is falling in love, and Child Protective Services.
The relationship between War and Nova is hot and heavy from the start. War is appalled at Nova’s living condition, and offers to help any way he can but our hero keeps secret the fact that he is a single father, and has issues of trust with any woman as it concerns his life and that of his son’s. Nova has battled her own demons but none more so than her health, and her current struggle to make ends meet. A relationship with War proves to be a battle between head and heart when Nova discovers some information regarding the potential future for the Savage Kings MC. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense including scenes of spanking and discipline that may not be suitable for all readers.
The colorful secondary and supporting characters include Club president Torin Fury; MC prospect Maddox; War’s five year old son Warren ‘Ren’ Jr, War’s sister Audrey O’Neil, and his ex-wife Marcie. Maddox and Audrey’s story is next in Maddox.
WAR is a story of family and blood; forgiveness and trust. Our hero will do anything to protect the son that calls to his heart, doing whatever he can to prove he is a reliable and loving parent. The premise is emotional, heart breaking and real; the romance is erotic, raw and intense; the characters are charismatic and abrasive. WAR is a tense, and provocative addition to the Savage Kings MC.
This series is absolutely everything! I love single father romances and mix that with a sexy, protective giant and my ovaries just exploded. Previously in the other books of the series we learn that Warren (War) O'Neil has complications with his ex wife Marcie. After having problems with addiction, War is hesitant to let their 4 year old son, Ren stay with her, but after being clean for the past few months he allows it. What started off as being a depressing weekend without his son made a turn for a better filled with hot and steamy sex when he stumbles upon Nova McQueen on the side of the highway when her car breaks down. After a storm starts to stir he gives her a ride home and does her the favor of fixing up her car despite the fact that they just met that day, and boy does she ever repay him. Nova is a strong woman that survived cervix cancer and is unfortunately unable to bare her own children and War underneath his tough exterior is a giant teddy bear that can't help but want to help people.
Unfortunately, their weekend is cut short when War receives a call from his son that his ex wife won't wake up and he had to call the cops. After leaving in a rush to Marcie's house, he find that his she was rush to the hospital for an OD and his son was put into child services. Not being able to find out where his son is, War is in a rampage with no other choice than to wait for the court hearing in a few days. Just so happens to be that Nova is the social worker on his case.
Although he is a wonderful father and family man, the judge orders a 30 day hold until War proves himself a fit parent since he knew Marcie was an addict and she was reprimanded by being sent to jail for a number of charges including child neglect. To pass time during the 30 days War fill his time with visiting his son the three days of the week that he is allowed and the rest filling his time with Nova in bed. After a hurricane comes through and puts his son in danger and also Nova, he comes to the conclusion that he actually has feelings for her and wants her in his life. That is until he finds out she was keeping a secret from him about the MC being in danger, then all bets were off.
When all was said and done, War got Ren back and forgave Nova, with the help from Ren. This book was so unpredictable, I never knew what was going to happen next, and I'm glad for it. Sometimes books can get predictable and boring but this was not the case. I loved this story, even if it was a bit fast paced, I cannot wait to read the next one! I am so happy I stumbled upon this series in my recommendations, I have yet to be disappointed with the Savage Kings MC.
War has been leading a dual life for years - by day he is a father to his son and guardian to his sister, by night he is sergeant-at-arms for the notorious Savage Kings motorcycle club. To keep his family safe, he keeps them in the dark. As a result, War leads a very lonely life, not believing that he can fit a romantic relationship into his life while meeting his family and MC responsibilities.
When his ex-wife takes his son home for the weekend for the first time in years, War is at loose ends until he comes across a stranded motorist. Nova feels as though a dark cloud follows her around. Having survived cancer in her twenties and fought to finish college, she's broke and now she's broken down on the side of the road. Her education and medical bills have put her deeply in debt, but she is determined to make her own way in the world. War, a true caretaker at heart, can't help but stop to help the beautiful young woman. When he sees her dire situation, he determines to help her and they spend a torrid weekend together while his son spends time with his ex.
Suddenly, War's carefully built life begins to implode. No longer in control of his circumstances and unable to protect those he loves, War is pulled back to Nova whom he uses as a distraction from his troubles. At some point, what started out as a distraction has become a necessity.
Neither Nova nor War realize how lonely they each have become - Nova due to her fiercely independent streak and War due to his efforts to protect his son and balance two lives. When they find each other, neither can trust that the relationship is true and can develop into something more than a few days together. As War fights through his family troubles, he learns to open himself up and depend on Nova. Nova, in turn, begins to see her luck change for the better and begins to believe in something more.
A good next installment in the Savage Kings MC series, this book moves the story surrounding the MC forward while focusing on the budding romance between War and Nova. I found War to be a mostly mature and strong male character and Nova to be a bit quirky and daring. Both lonely and bit paranoid about their bad luck, they are very similar in some ways and make a good match. It was nice to see Nova pull War out of his own head so that he could see the good things around him and build a relationship that he so badly needs.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in the Savage Kings MC series. IN this book, War (Warren) is a single father to Ren and the Sergeant-at-arms of the MC. War works hard to keep his life separate from his family. He also raised his sister Audrey after their parents died and she doesn't know about him being in the MC. when War allows Ren to spend the weekend with his ex-wife, who was a drug addict after he searched her apartment and gave her a breathalyzer. War was alone for the first time in years and decided to go for a ride. War came across a stranded woman whose car broke down. Nova recently moved here to work as a social worker and she doesn't have extra money to spend on car repairs because of medical bills and student loans. When War takes her home and has her car towed to his garage, their attraction to each other grows. War tells Nova he isn't looking for a relationship and she agrees to spend the weekend with him. They have a great time until Sunday morning when Ren calls in trouble. War's ex-wife overdosed and by the time War got to her place to get Ren, children's services had taken him. War would have to go to court to prove her was fit to have his son. When Nova got to work on Monday, she learned she had a new case. She was in charge of War's case and realized this was why he left her Sunday morning. Nova didn't know War even had a son and when she got to the court house, she met a ADA who told her a bit about the MC war was a part of, making her worry about the man she spent the weekend with. War wanted Ren back and wanted Nova to get him for him. Nova had to follow the rules and spend a month investigating War's home life. Meanwhile, War and Nova continued to be together and when the hurricane was approaching, War demanded to find Ren to make sure he was safe. I loved this book. i loved War and thought he was a good guy and he was lonely, even if he never thought he was. He gave up his own happiness for his family and tried to keep them safe from the MC life. Nova overcame a lot in her life and i think she cared more for War and Ren than she wanted to. Another great one.

Would I read again?: Not sure I could handle it but yeah Would I read this author again?: Yes
Compelling, Gritty and heart-wrenching at times, this MC romance is a MUST-Buy “WAR” is another amazing MC novel by the phenomenal writing team, Lane Hart and D.B. West. Individually they write outstanding and award-winning romances, but together these New York Times Bestselling authors have written a series of books about the Savage Kings MC that continues to curl my toes with outstanding page-turners that once begun hold my complete attention until the last word is read. “WAR” like the other novels in this series tells the story of Warren and Nova two amazing characters that crawled into my heart within the first chapter and remain on my mind long after finishing their story. The Savage Kings together make a gritty MC that is focused on making the lives of those who live in their community safer. Even their Sargent-at-Arms, War, is a gentleman who stops to help a stranded motorist with a broken-down ride. From the moment they meet, Nova and Warren feel the electricity their instant attraction generates, and the readers are taken along for the crazy ride. Authors Hart and West pen a compelling tale about family, trust and unconditional love. Their prose is easily read, descriptive and allows readers to focus on the amazing characters and complex plot that will hold readers spellbound for hours. While both the hero and heroine of “WAR” have learned that nothing in life that is worth anything comes easy, but it is worth fighting for is a theme beautifully illustrated with its pages. While I voluntarily read a copy of “WAR” and this is my honest, voluntary 5+STAR review, this is one novel that is going into the Favorites collection on my Kindle, so I can read it again and again. I STRONGLY suggest that anyone who likes to read romance, especially romance style, purchase a copy of “WAR” today! Happy pages! 😉

But he still has to deal with the ex drug addicted mother of this son. While controlling what and where he allows his ex to take his son for the weekend. While trying to clear his head out for a ride he finds the most beautiful woman stranded on the side of the rode. He has never been involved with or needed a woman since the burn his ex gave him but he can’t fight this attraction. Nova McQuenn is a caseworker for Child Protective Services and takes her job very seriously, not only for the children but herself. When she was younger Nova had cervical cancer which has taken the option of family away from her so she fights for the voiceless child. But when this man that picks her up on the side of the rode and spends the entire weekend with him suddenly gets called away sooner than anticipated, their worlds will collide with both of them on different sides of CPS. One the case worker for his son and a man out to get his son back. How will this tragedy effect not only War but his son Ren. And what will happen when it’s revealed that War is a member of the Savage Kings MC . Will he be able to get his son back and keep the woman he has always wanted. Well enjoy this ride to get your answers.
War has spent years keeping his MC life separate from his private life. Raising his younger sister and then being a single dad, he tries to be on top of everything. His ex-wife convinces him to let her keep their son for the weekend. So with nothing to do, he goes for a ride on his bike. That is how he meets Nova, stranded by her broken down car. He gives her a ride and before he knows it, she is in his bed for the weekend. Then a phone call that he hoped would never come blows up his whole world. Suddenly, Nova is in a position to help him. But will these two people with so much baggage be able to trust each other?
I am always surprised at how talented this husband and wife team are at keeping the focus of the Savage Kings MC books strictly on the couple. Nova is in a bad spot in life and has been for quite some time. Her luck is so bad, I don't think she trusts in War really being the guy he appears to be. The same goes for War. His ex-wife screwed him royally and he doesn't fully trust Nova. So they both make mistakes, a few times throughout their tale. There was one scene that made me uncomfortable as I am not a fan of humiliation so I had to walk away for a little while. Which goes to show how well written these characters are. As always, I enjoyed my time with the Savage Kings and I am over the moon that the next book will be about Maddox!
