I just don’t understand why some of Cami’s books are wonderful and some, like this one, are mediocre at best. I know she’s capable of writing great stories but this isn’t one of them. She could have gone into so many directions with these characters but instead chose to have them jump to conclusions through most of the story and then rushed the ending. I’m so disappointed as I purchased this audiobook and it was a total bust.
Creed and Kiera's story was so frustrating at times. The whole compilation of misunderstandings and missed opportunities was so hard to read. Not hard to read like the story is written badly or I didn't like the characters. More like the story was written so well and I became so invested that I wanted to climb into my Kindle, take both of these characters, sit them in a room and make them talk everything out.
Creed goes away to serve our country leaving behind the love of his life. She promises to wait for him and he promises to return home. Then Kiera gets the devastating news that Creed was killed in action along with a note written to her before he died. The note tells her to move on and be happy in the case of his death, but that's one request that Kiera can't accommodate. All of a sudden Creed is back from the dead and wants nothing more than to see the woman of his dreams. However, he happens to find her in the arms of her dance party and hears things that makes him believe she has moved on. Rather than talking to her, because why would you do that?, he takes a job working the most dangerous jobs he can off the grid so that he won't have to see and hear about Kiera's love life. Meanwhile Kiera gets word that Creed is indeed alive and rushes to his parents home to reunite with her long lost love only to find out that he's out of the country again with no way to be contacted. Oh what a tangled web we weave. The couple end up back in each other's company but with all of the misunderstood facts creating a chasm between them.
I enjoyed this book a lot. At times it was a little too predictable but I'm okay with that in the stories that I read.
Creed Hawk has only ever loved one woman: Kiera. And Kiera has only ever loved one man: Creed. But Creed is believed to be dead after a failed Navy SEAL operation. He "comes back from the dead" to find Kiera in another man's arms. And so he goes back undercover, leaving Kiera heartbroken when she realizes that he's alive, but he hasn't come for her.
His undercover operation and her attempt to run away from her pain puts them both on a course to meet under very unexpected circumstances in Cancun.
If you read "The Captivating Warrior" in the first Navy SEALs series, you will get extra satisfaction in this book when the Duke of Gunthry is finally tracked down.
I love the SEAL warriors! Creed and Kiera are perfect for each other. I’m happy for authors who write clean romance. This is a great story about an honorable man and woman and how they overcome life’s trials to come out stronger and better for it.
Have been reading through the Navy SEAL series on KU. This one was definitely one of the better ones. There’s a long history between Creed & Kiera and the story is a good one. The return of the evil duke plays a role too.
The Stealth Warrior: Navy SEALs Romance (Hawk Brothers Romance Book 2) is by Cami Checketts. This series concerns the Hawk brothers and their exploits. The book is filled with action from the first to the last. The clean romance is in the background most of the time. The book is excellent and is quick and easy to read which makes late night reading more tolerable. Creed Hawk and Kiera Richins have been going together and in love since he was a senior and she was a sophomore in high school. They have been together through college and most of his stint in the Navy and while she continued to dance her way to the top of her profession. Now he had only four months left in the Navy and he would be home and all hers. It would be a long four months; but she would be busy with her dancing so the time should go fast. The best of plans sometimes falls through. Kiera was notified through her parents that Creed had been killed. Her world collapsed. Her dance partner, Milo, was there for her and then he tried to take their friendship to a higher plane. She cut him down and told him no. Then she learned Creed was alive! He had been captured and was now coming home. Kiera was elated and went to tell Milo; but he grabbed her and kissed her as a skirmish was going on down the hall. She told him she was leaving immediately for New York since Creed was alive. However, when she got to his house, he had already left with a man with whom he would be working. His Mother knew nothing about how long he would be gone. Her world simply disappeared as did her desire for a dance career. Without Creed, she was lost. Creed had come to see her in Vegas; but security wouldn’t let him in. He was in the skirmish in the hallway. He saw Milo kiss her and she didn’t seem to mind. Then he was told she and Milo had moved in together and shown photos to prove it. Devastated, he took the job with Sutton and asked to be employed overseas with no news from America. Now he was in Cancun following an escaped criminal. All he had to do was find him and Sutton would come in with paperwork and men to arrest him. When Creed actually found his man, he was dancing with Kiera at a program in the resort. Now he has to keep eyes on his criminal and protect Kiera at the same time. Can he do this without upsetting Kiera and ruining any chance of a reconciliation?
The Stealth Warrior: Navy SEAL2.0 - A fallen soldier returns from the dead. Thoughts of a reunion with the love of his life got him through the darkest days of captivity. What should be a joyous time of reconnecting is marred by false perceptions and misunderstandings. His efforts to move on do little to lessen the pain. Taking a job righting humanitarian wrongs seems like a good distraction until he finds his true love in the arms of the evil man he's tracking. They need answers, time, and forgiveness but with danger lurking, they may not get the chance to set things straight.
Cami Checketts stories suck me right in. This is the first I've read her Navy SEALs Romances, but I am definitely ready for more. I was a bit disappointed in Creed at the beginning of the story for being deceived about Kiera and her intentions. However, his diligence and fierceness in protecting her later made up for his shortcomings at the beginning of the story. Both Creed and Kiera are incredibly talented in their chosen fields. They have to fight to make their relationship and their standards a priority. I love that this is so important to both of them. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the Hawk bothers' stories!
Another great book on love and intrigue. This book as part of the series of Seal warriors was as well written as all of the previous ones. The fact that Creed returned from the dead as a seal to find his girlfriend only to be told she was with another man, made him go off and change his mind as too what he was going to do with his life. He and his girlfriend had vowed to hold everything until they were married and then they could become as one. This was a Free book and a great one to read. This is my review and mine alone. This book has it all. What an adrenaline rush! They are in love. He gets deployed. He is dead; she is devastated. He is still alive; she goes rushing. He thinks she betrayed him. She thinks it's all his fault. And that doesn't get you to the middle of the book!
I bought a copy of this book in a collection boxset from Amazon and voluntarily chose to share my review.
An intense romance. Her seal was captured and held prisoner for several months in a foreign country. She was told he had be killed. As she struggled to move forward, tension between herself and her dance partner increased. Many hurdles had to be overcome before any happiness could be attained.
I love this story about devotion, intensely deep love against all apparent odds, even death. I loved the hero and I loved this story! Dang if he isn't hot. I love the dance in this one too. I was able to visualize it all. The saving her from an underground sex ring was a little fast but it was also a short story. Great job!

This was a fun, quick read. I love getting each SEAL's story. About the time it started to get irritating that they wouldn't just get it all out in the open, they did and the story turned and it ended up coming together. Clean. I liked that it stressed saving themselves for marriage. They had a great relationship. Creed was such a sweet guy. I would read this one again.
so much sorrow and misunderstanding for Creed and Kiera. Such an example of how taking time to talk to work things out is most beneficial. But feelings of hurt and loss of trust get in the way of correcting misconceptions that makes this sooooo difficult. A great read even though sad.
I could not find a good page to truly sink myself into, during the beginning stages of this novel. I like to imagine it in my mind as a movie as the pages turn; however, I never could find footing to actually get that started here with this story. I would possibly like to try again later, hopefully it might be a better fit.
I Found this author's book which was 1 of the hawk brothers read it and wanted to read more so this is my second book. I enjoyed the characters the hate love relationship. The hurt, the missing of the love and the desperation. The author has a way with words and I thoroughly enjoy this story.
The Hawk brothers - each has their own calling for their life. Creed's may be the hardest when it comes to sacrifice. His devotion to his country and to right the wrongs done in the world may have stripped him of the love of his life - Kiera. Read to find out how this love story turns out - you won't regret it!
Fantastic story! I enjoyed reading about Creed and his Navy Seal life. But mostly I enjoyed the fact that Creed and Kiera made a pact about keeping themselves pure until they were married. So much excitement goes before them. You will enjoy reading this book and all of the trials they face.
This is a book about characters that will have you going through all the emotions range as you read this book but journey to true love is always a refreshing beautiful thing to enjoy.
Love this series, love this author, love this storyline, and love these characters. Raw emotion, miscommunication, danger, intrigue, forgiveness, delicious kisses and a happily ever after. Cami hit this one out of the park!
He’s a seal leaving again, she’s a dancer with her big break. He’s reported dead, she’s devasted. He comes back but misconstrues a scene and it starts months of unhappiness for both.
Just meh. I have read other books by this author and thought they were okay, but this was absolutely not. The plot was blah. The characters were dumb, and the the conflicts asinine.
Not one of the author's best. There was way too many explanations, descriptions of thoughts, feelings, not not much action except for kissing. I felt like if I kept plodding it would get better but it didn't. Very disappointing.
It was great :) I liked that Keira wasn't taking any crap from Creed and that they did eventually sit down and talk about all the misunderstandings. I'm glad she didn't hold onto her anger once they cleared the air and forgave him, as opposed to causing unnecessary drama.

Probably one of my least favorite books by Cami. I found myself getting annoyed with her trying to make the guy that she loved jealous. I was also annoyed that it took them so long to resolve their issues. It seems that the who book could have been resolved in a 10 minute conversation.
Great story with wonderful characters even with misunderstandings upon misunderstandings. Creed and Kiera each think the other betrayed them. I really like how Kiera finally stood up to Milo and left. Will Sutton finally be rid of Gunthry? Really enjoyable read.
