Rate this book
ALERT - On Sept 30th (until noon) Amazon released a flawed file and there seems to be an error in the MS. A chapter between 28 and 29, is missing, (and misnumbered final chapters) and has been uploaded to my blog for readers who had the initial download (which is now fixed). You can get the missing chapter here - https://ltmarshall.blog/2018/09/30/im.... We await an amazon update to fix all flawed books.

Camilla Walters finds herself on the outside of Alexi Carrero's world after he sets her loose. Following a dramatic end to their roller coaster relationship and is trying to start over again.
She's healing, wounded and low, but with determination to get back on her feet as fast as she can.
Fate takes a turn one awful night, and leads her straight back to the door of the people she swore never to rely on again, pulling her back into the world she had run away from. The Carrero world and the man who broke her.
Like magnets drawn to one another it is obvious their story is not over yet.
Will Camilla ever be able to forget the past and what he did to make her hate him? Can she ever trust Alexi Carrero?

Leanne Marshall is a Scottish-born and bred romance writer with more than average life experience. She has been a torrent of wild things, including a singer in a girl band, animal rights activist, and charity owner, worked on radio, and offered jobs on TV.
A passionate, restless soul who has always found peace in writing, the only way to calm that fiery spirit.
She uses her wit and dark humor to her advantage in her works and has been an avid reader for most of her life. Her influences vary, but from early life and a teen stint in journalism, she applies logic to most of her plot lines, is a confessed research fiend, and likes a lot of psychology behind her character's actions.
She currently resides in Central Scotland with her two children and Fiancee of 13 years, making waves in the book world with her signature 'WTF moments' she likes to apply in each story, hints of humor, and devastating emotional rollercoaster rides.
Quote from L.T. Marshall - 'Writing has always been an escape for me, loving that no matter what you are doing, where you are - you can create ideal fantasy and get lost in someone else's life. I love nothing more than drawing a reader with me on a journey that tortures your every emotion before the grand exhale.'

This is by far my favourite Couple from the Carrero Series, I adore the both of them, their attitudes, the decisions and reactions. But, let me explain..

Every trilogy from this series has gripped me from the start, ripped my heart out a few times. Stomped on it for good measure, and then made me feel like I’m on top of the world with the gold from the end of the rainbow. And then stomped on my heart some more, cut it into itty bitty pieces, and then given a miracle cure. There are no half measure here.

Emotions from these books are hard hitting in the most deliciously torturous ways. Why do I say that? Because every emotion is pulled from the reader whether they want it to be or not, we quickly come to care about the people we are reading about in such huge measures. They’re human in the most real way you can imagine, they make decisions, some that are stupid and make you want to slap some sense into them, but they’re logical. And that is the beauty if it. You may be able to see both sides as the reader, you may be able to understand WHY they act the way they do, but that just makes you more heavily invested in their choices.

The Carrero world is on that grips you quickly, and once you’re in, you’re there to stay. No couple is the same, no story is the same, and no Shock is the same. And trust me, this is very different to the others.

Some writers write romance, and the ending is predictable even though enjoyable, you can see pretty much how all the relationship will pan out. That’s not Carrero, they’re very real people with their own history and beliefs, foibles and quirks. They clash and mess stuff up, quite honestly, by being idiots. By misunderstanding. By being selfish. By being stubborn. In short, they are human.

The first part of Camilla and Alexis story was shocking, wonderful, and a bit dangerous. This, is even more amazing. A wonderful and powerful build on what we have already seen from these people, and after the gut wrenching ending to the previous book, don’t expect this to be any less.

The story flows wonderfully, situations that are entertaining, frustrating, and at times thrilling or steamy. This is not an Author who deals in half measures, you get the full range of emotion in high doses, that will leave you feeling a little bit sucker punched at times, tipsy at others.

I adored the continuation of their story, they stay true to their individual characters, but we can see logical adaptions and changes as the tale progresses. They make mistakes and learn. These are complex characters with very complex backgrounds and history each, and together that multiplies and the clashes are logical, and understandable. This is far from a fairy tale. And that is what makes them so beautiful in the telling. They are relatable, and all the more intriguing and enjoyable for their brutal honesty.

In true Marshall style, the ending is nothing you will see coming. It’s devastating, beautiful, and FRUSTRATING as hell, because she leaves you, as ever, at the point you NEED to know what happened next. So typical. And yet, so unexpected.

Their relationship is powerful, addictive, dangerous and unpredictable, the perfect match to the people themselves. I can’t wait to see what Book three brings!! No... really... HURRY UP L.T.Marshall!!

Alexi And Cam Book 2

Waiting for this book was like complete torture, wanting to know what happened after the amazing ending in Book 7, the first book featuring Alexi and Camilla.

This book starts off right where the last book ended and answers all those questions we had in the last chapter, thank god! It then continues to weave the web that is Alexi and Camilla. They are both so tortured and untrusting from their past it is almost painful to read but as the book continues you see glimmers of hope that the are breaking down each other barriers.

Marshall yet again weaves an incredible story that makes you feel you are watching a movie not reading a book. Her detailing of each and every scene is superb!

The ending is epic, the signature of a great Carrero novel, leaving us hanging with bated breathe wanting more. I literally can not wait to see the third book in this series to see where Lexi and Cam go!

There is no denying that I am a huge fan of The Carrero Series and that I cannot get enough of them! I am an avid reader from when I was very young and this is the best romance series I have ever read!

I really liked this one.
You will need to read the previous book in the series before this one at least but this couples story is set up in the one before.
Things pick up from book before.
I liked that the Hero has changed but still is an idiot at times and makes loads of mistakes.
The heroine makes him work for it and doesn't just give it, it borders on too much resistance but for me it worked.

During their separation no-one else is mentioned for either of them but you get the impression the Hero was so distraught over loosing her that there wasn't.

Bit of push/pull from heroine.
There are times he flirts with others, they sit on his lap, cosy up to him but there is no mention of anything intimate though on one occasion she assumes he asked a woman upstairs but she is just jumping to conclusions there is no evidence of it and she doesn't realise he's changed.
Ends on a cliffhanger.

Wow. Just wow. I was really hating on the main characters in the first instalment of these guys and yet now totally in love.
Camilla is still hurting and Alexi is making the biggest effort to show her he has changed. Can she ever forgive what he did to her? Can he ever make her see that he can’t survive the world with out her?

I am totally in their corner and hoping above all hope that they can sit and sort this out. I want them to be that happy ever after we all want in our own lives.

Camilla is a fire cracker and takes no prisoners. You can see she’s been brought into a world she doesn’t understand yet is desperate to make it work for her.

Spoilers

Genre: mafia, 2nd chance

We pick up 4 months later with Cam, now known as Meaghan, working at a cheap greasy spoon restaurant and living in squalor. She has also changed her appearance to a mousy brown hair color.
She is robbed and hurt in the break in. All her money is taken leaving her with no options. She calls Mico to ask for help fixing her door as she doesn't feel safe. When she arrives back at her hovel, Alexi is there. She freaks out. Throwing things at him and screaming at him. After Mico calms both of them down, Alexi offers her her job back and a contract to run his club as part owner. Cam thinks it is another one of his tricks but finds herself taking his offer after she is fired from the diner. Alexi and Cam are reunited but things are definitely not settled. Alexi has changed, becoming softer towards her, but Cam cannot get past her suspicion. The book shows the constant push/pull of their relationship. At the end, Alexi goes to a dinner that goes wrong and Cam freaks out thinking he is dead. When he returns to the apartment they have sex and she panics afterward. Her immediate thought is to run as she cannot handle being destroyed by him again. The book ends with Alexi trying to convince her not to leave because in the end he admits to being in love with her. Leading us to book 3...

Oh here we go again! Emotional roller-coaster of epic proportions that only L.T.Marshall can deliver. I read about 100 books a year and I have never ever been this addicted to any other series. I just can’t get enough of Carrero men and all the drama surrounding them 😂

After Book 7 of The Carrero series I was yet again left hanging and waiting, chewing my nails off daily, for Book 8 to follow. No matter how many times I tell myself to wait for complete trilogy, I always fail. How can I wait for all three books when others already know what is going on in Carrero world? Impossible!

I loved how following the events at the end of the Book 7 and Alexi cutting Camilla out of his world, fate or Camilla’s bad luck brings them back together. Under revised conditions of the new drawn contact they start to co-work and co-live in each other’s company and I absolutely love the shift of dynamics in their relationship. Cam starts rebuilding her wall again and learning to be her old self again knowing she now holds some sort of power in this new situation. Alexi starts on the other hand peeling down his wall bit by bit and showing us there is more to him than just psycho, rough and cold side. We can feel their relationship has changed but is it really enough change for them to start trusting each other?

So here I am again, chewing my nails off waiting for yet another book in this series before I lose my mind. How can author leave us hanging with ending like this? Ah well, I better get used to it as each new book seems to have bigger and more tense cliffhangers.

I can’t recommend this series more and L.T.Marshall’s talent to create this new exciting world is undeniable.

I’ve not read any of the Carrero books before and saw this one pop up on a freebie and thought I’d give it a chance. I did wonder if jumping in out of sequence might be difficult with this being a series but even though I didn’t know all the back story I had no difficulty in following along with the events in this book. I will say that LT Marshall has a great strategy for setting up conflict and suspense, leaving the reader dangling until the very end. This certainly helps make the book a page-turner. I also found the book longer than I had thought it would be, but for me, the dialogue is where this story truly shines. It really gives us the reader a feeling of being a part of the events as the unfold rather than just an observer. Although I found some of the narration easy to flip through, the conversations really sucked me into the characters and made this a very enjoyable read.

Love it, love it, give me more

Absolutely stunning! Another Carrero triumph from Leanne Marshall. This epic saga so wonderfully written drags you through the highs and lows with Alexi and Camilla. So damaged, so hurt, so very alike they can't trust themselves or each other. I love the changes in our duelling pair and their emotional role reversal from their first book.
They have a hell of a long way to go and it's finally looking like there's a chance for them. Who knew the best life lessons in learning to love and be loved would come in the form of scabby old Feral.

The Carrero Contract- amending agreements

LT Marshall does it again! She takes our hearts builds them into loving the characters then rips them out in devastating ways. Both Alexi and Cam are so strong willed determined not to let the other one in until it's too late. Cannot wait for the next instalment. #teamCamilla

Loving it

Two hearts that should come together but are poison when joined is the only way to explain the characters in this book. Emotional rollercoasting and slow change make this a wonderful storyline to follow on from the previous book. I have loved Alexi and Cams story but have also loved the whole series well done to an amazing set of writing L.T.Marshall.

This is the second part of the Carrero Contract trilogy. Alexi & Camilla’s story starts exactly where part 1 finished, phew, because what a cliffhanger that was. After chapter 1 it jumps 4 months and we see Camilla a bit down on her luck and very sick. Cue the return of Alexi.
What follows is an emotional few months where the roles of these two are reversed slightly. Camilla is the standoffish one and keeping her distance, and Alexi is the one trying to make things right and prove to Camilla that she can trust him. Unfortunately Camilla has been burned too many times. She is still a broken kid living in fear of being used once more. I believe it will take a lot more than him just saying sorry for her to fully trust him again.
This was yet another emotionally charged book. I loved how their story evolved and their intentions towards each other completely switched. Both characters are strong willed on the outside, yet are broken souls on the inside. I can’t wait to see where L.T. Marshall takes these characters in order for them to get their HEA. I do hope that in the final instalment they can break down those barriers and learn to love and trust each other
