Welcome to Nortown, where the men are bearded, the shirts are plaid, and where wood is found in more places than the forest.
In this box set, you’ll get to know some of Nortown’s inhabitants and follow them on their journey to love.
Once in a Snowstorm: Aiden & Tristan Aiden gets trapped in a snowstorm in the middle of nowhere and is saved by a real-life lumberjack. Tristan doesn’t want his tranquillity disturbed, but he can’t leave the poor man to freeze to death, and there are more ways than one to warm a person.
Once in a Forest: Tom & Jason Jason has one rule when it comes to holidays—find a willing body to distract himself with—and this Easter that body will be Tom. Tom doesn’t do relationships, and he doesn’t do flings, but his house grows terribly quiet this Easter, and say what you want about Jason, but he isn’t quiet.
The Empty Egg: Aiden & Tristan Aiden plans on surprising Tristan with an Easter egg filled with sweet toffees and silky fun, but he grows more and more nervous as the egg gets emptier and emptier.
Once in May: Zachary & John John is hiding from his ghosts. He has found the perfect little place, far away from people, to do so. Then one day, a huge, bearded man knocks on his door. Zach knows he should leave the skittish man alone, but for some reason, he can’t.
Happy Endings: Aiden & Tristan Aiden is working hard to get his massage studio off the ground. Tristan thinks he’s working too hard, so when Aiden’s back is giving up on him, he tries to hide it. Tristan, on the other hand, decides it’s time for Aiden to be on the receiving end of a massage. * * * Content advisory: stories include scenes of explicit intimacy between consenting male adults.
Ofelia Gränd is Swedish, which often shines through in her stories. She likes to write about everyday people ending up in not-so-everyday situations, and hopefully also getting out of them. She writes contemporary, paranormal, romance, horror, Sci-Fi and whatever else catches her fancy.
Her books are written for readers who want to take a break from their everyday life for an hour or two.
When Ofelia manages to tear herself from the screen and sneak away from husband and children, she likes to take walks in the woods. She’s recently discovered the miracle of podcasts and spends her strolls listening to wise people talk.
I only recently discovered Nortown, so I was happy for the opportunity to read this box set. The set includes three full-length books and two short stories about the lovable, often quirky, and sometimes annoying (to each other) men of Nortown. There is plenty of angst, emotional baggage, stereotypes, misconception, and miscommunication. And lumberjacks…although that is apparently not a PC term in Nortown.^^ The stories are humorous as well, and at times the presentation seems almost tongue-in-cheek and over-the-top. It was great fun to watch the newcomers to Nortown learn to cope with no lattes, no McDonald’s, and no take-out. I enjoyed watching them fall in love, and watching all the men overcome their past drama and insecurities. I love the character of Jen, too. She is a facilitator in many ways to the romances in these stories. She is sweet, caring, kind, hard-working, and a great friend. It would be really nice to see her get an HEA and a new partner, too.

The small town setting for these stories helps make them. It was touching how they found their partners especially with some of the tough circumstances they had. Holidays are hard for alot of reasons for some and it is nice that Tom didn'the have to be alone. Tristan and John both really needed someone to bring them out of their isolation.

In the forward of the book, the author mentions that she started writing this series mocking some of the commonly used tropes and so I was expecting an overwhelming sense of dry humor, but found a few touching stories about a small town in the woods with a quaint cafe, some lumberjacks and a couple of old gossipy knitters.
Once in a Snowstorm: Aiden & Tristan
Aiden has a chip on his shoulder. He feels he's been wrongly stereotyped his entire life for being short and thin and stylish. Oh, and he loves yoga. And lattes. When he finds himself with nowhere to go, literally carried from his death in the snow by a lumberjack named Tristan, he finds himself not knowing what to think about his future. Trust doesn't come easily to Tristan after his divorce and he's not looking for anything, but when Aiden adds life to his dull cabin, he can't help but wonder what a little color would look like.
Once in a Forest: Tom & Jason
Jason is in town visiting Aiden for the holiday and wants to have a bit of fun. When Tom is guilted into letting Jason stay with him, he worries what everyone will think and say. But he can't hide his feelings for long.
The Empty Egg: Aiden & Tristan
When Aiden wants to surprise Tristan with an Easter Egg filled with fudge, he has to think on his feet after he eats it all. This one was more of a bonus scene.
Once in May: Zachary & John
John has lived in town for 3 years and has barely spoken to anyone. He's had a dark past and is unable to forget. When Zachary comes back to town after 8 years and sees John, he makes it his mission to befriend him and hopes for more.
Happy Endings: Aiden & Tristan
This was another bonus where Aiden is feeling overworked as he is trying to be an equal parter to Tristan financially.
There were three separate relationships at play all in the same small forest town and they were all very sweet, if not completely gooey inside. Each story had the Insta-Love cliche which I took in stride because of the forewarning up front. I don't anticipate I would have enjoyed the stories as much if I hadn't been aware that the intent was to overdramatise the situations. Given that information, it softened the nature of the quick turn around relationships and miscommunication.
I did enjoy the superfluous characters of the market owner, the cafe owner and her son, and the two knitters. Theirs stories were interwoven into each of the books in such a way that added a depth of character to Aiden, Tom and John that I appreciated.
If you are looking for a collection of steamy lumberjack stories, this is a great set with happy endings.
The incredibly hot and sexy lumberjack men of Nortown are a sight to behold. I wish they were real as I want to meet them. I loved all the stories and how they each found their missing half. I have to say John touched my heart the most as I cried while reading about his horrible past and how he just accepted that as what was to be. When he said that Gregor only forgot to chain him back up the once I had tears in my eyes. Zachary with his patience and intuition of how to take care of John. All the stories were awesome and you want to read this set.

This was a bloody brilliant box set, I was originally introduced to Nortown through book 5 which was amazing. I had it on my list to go back to the start, but this box set bet me to it and I couldn't be happier. This is an amazing series all built around this small town called you guessed it Nortown. This box set includes 3 short stories and 2 mini in middle stories. This set includes three couples and the mini side stories are extra bits in between about the first couple from book one. These are all amazing beautiful stories that I couldn't get enough of. So much so I had to go read book 4 and book 4.5 straight after and even before I typed my review. But that may tell you just how good these books are I to complete the series. This is a brilliant author I am a massive fan of, I love the writing style and the tallented journey I am always taken on whenever reading this amazing author. So go out amd grab this box set immediately and while you are there grab the other three books, book 4, 4.5 and 5. Because if you are anything like me you will need to see how it all goes. As it is as soon as I have a spare minute from my arc reading list I will be reading book 5 again it was that good the first time and I am feeling the need to complete the series and rereading book 5 will help me feel I have. Grab this asap, its too good to pass.

This box set includes 5 wonderful stories. 1. Once in a snow storm: Aiden and Tristan, 2. Once in a forest: Tom and Jason, 3. The empty egg: Aiden and Tristan, 4. Once in May: Zachary and John and 5. Happy endings: Aiden and Tristan. I must say I loved not only the characters but all five books as well. I like the transition between each story as it flowed nicely and was done with thought. The author didn’t just take each individual book and slapped it together, so you don’t have to hear all the excessive repeat of the copy write along with each individual chapter over an over. I loved this box set and hopefully you will to.
