The author is a very passionate speaker and writer. His love, his fervor, his heart is for God and relationship with God. Much of that relationship involves prayer, which is much more than just talking and making requests of God.
"If all I have said has only led you to feel obligated to fulfill a religious duty, I have not accomplished what the burden of my heart has called me to do. My desire has been to paint such a lovely picture of the secret place that you would be filled with desire to go there-- to live from there."
For mature Christians, much of what the author is sharing is not necessarily a new revelation but a gentle reminder of what we may be missing out on in our daily lives when we do not include God in every aspect. I think if we could really implement and live out what prayer really could be, continual relationship and interaction with God, we would never want to leave this place.
