Prepare your children to be world changers in a culture where overcoming racial division and discrimination is critical. One Blood for Kids teaches what the Bible, science, and history say about All humans belong to one race.
"And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth..." (Acts 17:26 KJV)
Racism is a sin issue, not a skin issue. Apologetics powerhouse, Ken Ham starts with the Garden of Eden to offer children, teens, and parents a biblical foundation for relationships with people of varying skin tones and cultures. He reveals racism and prejudice as sin and God as the only solution.
When children understand what makes us all the same, they will no longer see just the differences! One Blood for Kids
the real history of the human race and cultural differences how evolutionary science was misused to promote racial inequality what God expects from us in how we treat each other no matter how different we may look why God's truth is the only real answer to battling racism because it targets the heart of a person - something laws, education, and social rules cannot do. This children's book is a critical teaching resource for every Christian family and children's ministry. Understanding God’s perfect love for all people and the importance He places on unity will ready your child to stand strong against the hatred fueling today’s demonstrations of racism.
One Blood for What the Bible Says About Race is an adaptation of Ken Ham’s One Race One Blood - The Biblical Answer to Racism.
Dr. Ken Ham is the president of Answers in Genesis USA and is a well-known speaker and author on the subject of Young-Earth Creationism. He received a bachelor degree in applied science (emphasis on environmental biology) from the Queensland Institute of Technology, and a Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland. He has also received two honorary doctorates: a Doctor of Divinity from Temple Baptist College, and a Doctor of Literature from Baptist Liberty University.
He was a director of Creation Science Foundation (CSF) in Australia, an organization which he jointly founded with John Mackay. In 1987 he moved to the United States, still maintaining his links with CSF.
From 1987 to 1993, Ham worked for the Institute for Creation Research, and in 1994 set up what in 1995 became Answers in Genesis (AiG), a creation ministry dedicated to "upholding the authority of the Bible from the very first verse."
In 2008 Ham was described by well known atheist and evolutionary biologist PZ Myers as a "Wackaloon" for carrying out a prayer session with members of the Pentagon. Ham responded regarding the validity of that prayer breakfastand that PZ Myers and other critics were intolerant of his position.
I read this during our morning time and had to do some on-the-fly editing while I read( doctrinal issues), but I love Ken Ham’s bold stance on the reliability of the Bible and the reminder of how we all have the same origins and the most important race we can be part of is the “saved race”.
The information in this book is ON POINT. The illustrations are helpful and well done. The gospel is beautifully portrayed. I highly recommend this book!
My only struggle was the way the book was set up. It got a little confusing for the kids. And it was a little advanced for them once in awhile. But the content was so important and totally worth working through even if slowly. We actually used it as our only science for a few weeks.
This is a great conversation-starter about race with kids. It does a good job giving Biblical explanations for many misconceptions about race that have been perpetuated both by evolution and by "Christians" in history. It also has a great framework using "race" to mean either being a part of the saved race or the unsaved race regardless of ethnicity. This gives better reframing and categories for thinking about this issue.
Ken Ham and his Answers in Genesis ministry is a gift to our culture. He says, “Racism cannot be solved by laws, educational programs or secular science. It’s a sin (problem) and only God has the solution.” There is only one race, the human race made in the image of God and bought with a price, the blood of Jesus Christ. This is a lovely book with lots of scientific facts and Biblical insights for children and adults to consider and share with others.
I love the viewpoint this book shares. We all share the same blood. We are all part of one race: the human race. However, I have to give 4/5 stars because even though it is "for kids" a lot of the scientific information is somewhat complicated and challenging for younger children to understand. We still read the whole thing and will read it again in a few years to glean more from it.
I read this to our four youngest (ages 8-13), and it caused much discussion as we read through it. Questions were asked, interesting prejudices emerged as we worked our way through the chapters, and even though it might have still been a little over some of their heads, I think it was a good tool for important, ongoing conversations.
My kids really enjoyed this book given the current climate. We had lots of great conversations about the chaos in the world and how Sun played into that picture. Highly recommend!
Excellent read for my children. Engagement for my eight year was 💯 and piqued curiosity and consciousness for cultural constructs versus original language. Thank you for creating a masterpiece for our children to better understand and love humanity! It was also great hearing you speak in person!
