总有主角妄想开后宫 [There Will Always Be Protagonists With Delusions of Starting a Harem]

Rate this book
Suddenly, the unmarried twenty-year-old Ye Zhizhou had many more relatives, yet it was too late for him to clearly understand the circumstances as he nearly died in a car accident. After that, he somehow managed to survive and was even forcibly bound to a Salvation System.

How is it salvation?

Harems destroy worlds! Preventing a harem will save them!

. . . .

Ok, prevent harems. After seeing the entire system introduction, the corners of Ye Zhizhou’s mouth twitched. In order to return home safely, he decisively began his risky journey—he’d just treat it as if he was playing a large-scale strategy game.

Since then, the people the protagonist would rescue, he rescued first. The businesses the protagonist would make, he made first. The little brother the protagonist would take in, he took in first. The cliff the protagonist would jump off of, he jumped off of first. The gay sex the protagonist would have, he’d have. . . . Wait wait, can’t do this one, change it, let me change it.

???: No, you can do this one.

Ye Zhizhou (alarmed): Who’s speaking?

???: Your husband.

Ye Zhizhou: . . . .

every world has a man who insists on dragging me to go have gay sex, what do I do, waiting online for an answer, urgent

(scared) it’s the same guy in every world, how do i get away, waiting online for an answer, hurry hurry hurry!

What an interesting qt novel! I love the twist in each arc. You do have to be really patient and use logic to understand the translations - there are some names that get switched in the translation, a couple misplaced paragraphs, one out of place chapter, and one section that I'm pretty sure was just completely missing. There's 2 arcs that were especially confusing - one because both the protagonist and the Mc had the same name translated into pinyin (why would you do that to us author?! It also had a super complicated plot so the name conflict just added extra knots for my poor brain to try and untangle) ; the other had a matriarchal society where women were the ones in power, but the author or translator then associated the ones in power with masculine terms that confused the story. Also, be prepared for incorrect pronouns and names in general - it makes figuring out who did what especially confusing in some of the arcs with more twisty plots.

All this aside, the translation is still very readable (in my opinion) and the stories are so good. If you want face slapping, you got it. If you want doting lover but an Mc who still uses his brain even after he has (multiple) golden finger(s), you got it as well.

If I were to tie a moral to this story, it is not to take multiple chance friendships/romances with powerful people at face value. Once might be a coincidence, or a fairy tale, but over and over, in all different scenarios, hints at something fishy going on. And someone who just happens to develop ambiguous relationships that benefit them greatly are probably not preserving that relationship with completely pure motives. It's such an interesting perspective - obviously fictionalized, but I think it's a moral that translates well to real life. Nothing is free in life, there are some genuinely nice people, but there are also many who are just marketing themselves as nice.

Another interesting moral is how hard it is to predict knock-on effects. Sometimes, what might seem like a happy ending, or a great outcome, has a dark side or unpredictable side effects. I don't think this is an excuse to overanalyze and become paralyzed with fear of what might happen, but I think it's a good lesson to always be humble and not assume you know what is unequivocally right or wrong. Many things need time to play out. And many times, the conflict and fighting over what is right can cause more damage than if everyone compromised.

The one thing I thought didn't come across very well was when the author tried to push the mc/ml into arguing their way into a "healthy" relationship. I agree with her premise that intense jealousy and shielding one person from all possible dangers is a sign of distrust, and honestly, if it was reality, might be indicative of an overly controlling partner. However, in this story, the argument and reaction regarding this felt a bit forced and out of the blue. I guess it's still a good lesson - a relationship is best as a partnership, and shouldn't have inexplicable jealousy.

Overall, I really like the arcs, the plot twists, the intelligent Mc, and great cast of side characters.

Everything was way to easy, even in the first arc. I know it took sometimes years to destroy the soul flags in a single world but it was one line of description and boom 10 years have gone by and screw the protag.

Thanks to that the ml and the mc fell in love, idk when they just did, and after they found each other on the next worlds they just became a couple. The insta-love in theory is justified since even though the ml doesn't remember anything, just seeing the mc is enough for him to get the feelings of his past self that are a part of his soul(? Something along those lines.

Anyway, some worlds weren't even described thanks to the ml golden thigh and him recovering his memories. I think the writing style and the lack of show not tell ('cause omg if it tells, chapters and chapters of everything that was skipped over in years) are to blame tbh.

Still each world was interesting and the story overall was somewhat entretaining. A book with potential and bad execution.

read the first arc and concluded that i am not going to enjoy the romance. or that the set up is basically engrained to be about repeatedly taking down women. i'll stick with death progress bar instead

A breath of fucking fresh air

Not that other novels with semi-similar-ish plots are bad but seriously, the fact the the MC is literally stopping the protagonists from building harems that would indirectly destroy the world is refreshing!!.

Apart from the Male Lead that transmigrates with the MC, the similar base arcs (entertainment arc, modern arc, etc) and the sheer extremeness of social ethic and norms, it’s not the typical Quick Transmigration/World hopping novel. The Mc isn’t restricted by his “system’’ to act a certain way, neither is his sole reason for transmigrating to counterattack.

So far I’m enjoying reading this, the plot twists are something else; it’s very interesting. I haven’t seen why the rating is so low but still reading soo

ughh. This book was long and it didn't death-hooked my interest. It's still interesting though.

QT about destroying protagonist's harem in different worlds. Lots of fluff between MC and ML (no smut). lots of plotting and minimal action/ fighting.

however, after reading so many arcs... it kinda got repetitive and draggy. Might be also because there doesn't seem to be any challenge because it seem to be quite easy for MC to resolve the issues.

Adding on the not so good quality of translation available at present time... it was really quite hard to read this novel. at least it wasn't fully MTL.

Felt too easy in parts of each world. Then, it became convoluted in others with unnecessary confusing plot twists and time jumps. It was too much lazy writing to get more worlds into 100 chapters. The reader can’t get invested to support the characters before the ML is carted off to the next world. Not recommended.

Dropped after the first act: unoriginal plot, mocking against fat people, flat characters without personality, the ML becomes obsessed with the MC without any kind of romantic development (suddenly he likes him), all the villains are stupid... And to top it all off: an adult "falls in love" with a minor he is taking care as a guardian.

Aku menikmati banget setiap momen faceslapping yg dilakukan sama MC, rasanya puas tiap MC nge bongkar kebusukan protagonis.

If you like lots of plot twist, taking down scum males and females, unfortunate support characters, taking revenge, face slapping, crazy protagonists, brain dead MLs and FLs (who needs lots of help), a MC hugging his hubbies gold thighs and a possessive and OP male lead (MC’s ML), along with a dash of amnesia and multiple world hopping and different combos of couples then ya this is that kind of novel. PS, the plot twist is crazy in this one. However, I feel like the characters are a little bland. One more thing there’s is fluff and humor. Overall it’s pretty good although if you like more layers in character then go read The Husky and His White Cat Shizun.
