“Just because you don't carry a gun, or know how to punch through walls, or hell, punch anything, doesn't mean you're not a badass. I've learned it's not those things that make a woman strong. It’s her loyalty, her personal strength to keep going when the odds are stacked against her. A woman who doesn't back down when fighting for truth or for others. That's you. All you, wrapped up in this spunky-as-hell exterior... Anyone can be a physical badass, but your strength is special. Rare. Captivating.”

“It's why I have zero life. Revenge is my life. I know it’s not the best plan, but at least it’s a plan.”

“The Fate I know climbs out of windows to meet danger head on for a shot at saving the people she loves.”

Nash ou “Snowflake”... eu caí de amores por ele logo de cara. Engraçado, doce, determinado, protetor e leal. Não tem como não amar, sério, não me faltam elogios pra esse mocinho!

“I'm a fighter, always have been, and I'll fight for her with everything I have to make sure she gets out of this unscathed.”

“I am swimming in emotions I've only read about. It's a drug, this feeling. The high of sitting this close, talking and laughing. It all makes sense now, what the fuss is all about.”

“Don't let them break you. You break them," he breathes. "See the you I do.”

A escrita da autora é muito boa e me agradou bastante. Ficarei de olho nos seus próximos lançamentos, pois espero muito que os personagens secundários ganhem seus livros.
Este livro foi uma leitura ótima e bem prazerosa e eu adorei!

“I had no idea what love was until you came along. I thought it was a fading thing where you could step away and never look back, but you, with you, with us, you're my air. You're essential to me living. This isn't love. This is life, and you're it.”

description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
It is no secret that I really enjoyed this author's previous book A COVERT AFFAIR. So I was super excited to find out she was releasing a new book. Furthermore, it will probably come as no surprise that I enjoyed this book just as much as its predecessor. It was quite well written. The pace was very good (for the most part). One of the issues with the previous book was that it was just a bit too long for me. This book was definitely better in that regard, but I still felt that it dragged a little near the beginning. The captivity portion of the book could have been tightened up a bit. I would have preferred maybe a bit more time spent on the aftermath mystery instead. Apart from that little niggle, the plot was quite engaging. There were some good twists and turns (although I DID figure out the baddie from early on *lol*). Some humor, and some good action. Last, it was all wrapped up in an OK HAPPY FOR NOW ending. I would have loved to have seen a future look epilogue for this couple. But maybe this will be a series, and we will see this couple again in future books?? A very sweet epilogue is going to be included in the final version of the book!

~HERO~
NASH...I enjoyed Nash's character a lot. He was sweet. He was possessive. He was funny. He was a great bother and Uncle. He was a good friend, and he was all about Poppy/Fate. What more can you ask for?

~HEROINE~
FATE...I enjoyed Fate's character as well. She was introverted. She was a geek. She was smart (although she did have a few TSTL moments). She was feisty. My heart broke for her on many occasions, but she showed great strength. I loved her relationship with Mac, and she loved Nash with her whole heart.

description

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
This book was actually pretty light on secondary characters but at the same time had a lot of them (if that makes sense). I LOVED Mac and I would love to see him get his own book. I also quite liked a lot of the guys that worked with Nash at the security firm. Again, it has me wondering if this book could potentially be the start of a series. I also really like Nash's sister and his niece. So there were a lot of great background characters and each of them added some extra depth to the overall story.

~HEAT LEVEL~
LOW. This was a SUPER slow burn with only a couple sex scenes fairly late in the book. As I have mentioned before in my reviews, I am just not a fan of slow burn romances. That said, in this particular case the plot was such that slow was the only believable way to go.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
LOW --> relationship wise. MEDIUM --> plot wise.  The subject matter itself was fairly angsty (rape, human trafficking, murder), but the couple themselves were very solid through the majority of the book. Slight pushing away, and a little miscommunication, but other than that there was really no angst. Neither were virgins. Nash didn't appear to be a manwhore, and there was no OW or OM drama.

~IN THE END~
Did I enjoy it? Very much so.
Was it perfect? It had a few small issues, but nothing major.
Would I recommend it? Yes, for sure!
Who would enjoy this book? Readers who like a low angst type of read. Readers that enjoy a well written romantic suspense story. Readers who enjoy a sweet hero, and a feisty, yet still shy heroine.description

Tense romantic suspense…

I eagerly await new titles from this author! Every title I’ve read has been romantic suspense that is edgy, surprising and full of characters that immediately grab my attention. I’m happy to add Fate and Nash to that club…

The topic of this story is dark and horrific, not white-washed or softened at all. How Fate deals with it is an exercise in human healing that is painful yet inspiring to watch. She goes through her own personal hell until suddenly Nash is there to make her quest not so solitary. Nash is not an in your face alpha but a man who is capable of doing what he needs to, to protect, to defend and to help the people he loves. Fate is a woman of strength and honor and he has her back…

Twists, turns, darker than dark moments. They are all here in writing that built a world of turmoil but also one of love. Family, friendship, romantic love. It is all here, intertwined with first-rate romantic suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. Another great read by an author who leapt onto my “go to author” shelf where she reserved a permanent spot…

I love Fate's character--her quirky pink hair and choice of junk food to her hacker abilities. Fate Haley only has one thing on her mind--revenge. Her younger sister was lured and kidnapped to an African dictator, where she was abused, neglected, and murdered. Her sister's murder was broadcast online for the world to see.

Fate has been collecting evidence on this African General and those who help him for the past few years with the help of her mentor, Mac. Mac tries to look out for Fate by teaching her more about hacking and how to use her skills to capture criminals. Mac also works for the FBI, where Fate has been doing contract work for in her spare time. Once Fate collects enough evidence on the General--she uses her skills to try to capture him--with the FBI and CIA help. What she doesn't plan on is how difficult it would be...to be surrounded by other women and young girls who are being raped and abused by the General's soldiers. When Mac sends in a team to retrieve Fate, she insists that the girls are released first. Something that was not planned by the contracted private team.

Nash Bartley, one of many private contractors working for Drake. A team the CIA contracted to bring Fate home from Africa. Only nothing went as planned. Instead Nash was captured. Nash and Fate spent days in side by side cells. They spent each night talking about everything from their personal lives to family. Fate kept Nash alive by sharing her food and water. Nash kept her alive by ensuring Fate never loses hope. When the General comes to their camp and a second rescue attempt happens, Fate and Nash do not return together.

Neither of them return to the states without injuries--mentally and physically. Both think the other is dead after the last fire fight at the camp.

It takes Fate four months to return to the states. Mac, Blake, and Nash are trying to keep her safe from the few of the General's men that are still alive. Two of them are in DC--hunting her down to finish what the General and his second-in-command didn't finish in Africa. Nash keeps Fate with him at all times--he even sleeps outside he bedroom door.

Nash and Fate find that their feelings for each other has only intensified since Africa. But how can they be together when men are still trying to kill her and anyone associated with her? How can Nash keep Fate safe and his sisters?

When you are trying to survive and live, can love blossom in the most dangerous situations?

Finding Fate is a action packed and heart pounding journey for revenge for one and love for the other. Fate is a hacker, she's good at what she does. Really good. After a devastating loss she seeks only revenge. Getting this revenge may cost her life, but she'll do anything to make sure these scum get taught a lesson. Fate is one brave chick. The life she's lived has been hard, the life she chooses to live for revenge is harder. After getting set up in her new accommodations, I'm trying to be so vague here so I don't give too much away, we really see the determination and grit Fate has. A failed rescue brings her Nash. Nash is funny and tries to keep their spirits up and before long feelings develop. Feelings you may or may not expect in their situation. Some terrible stuff goes down, like for real. Fate has only Nash, and Nash has only Fate during the hell they face together.

Kennedy L. Mitchell knows how to tell a story. I was completely swept up in the mystery and intrigue and later the romance throughout the entire book. You are constantly kept on the edge of your seat waiting for the other shoe to drop. And when it does you are shocked. So many secrets and lies it was hard to figure out the truth before it was in your face. Fate and Nash have so many obstacles in front of them and yet they persevere. I fell deeply in love with Fate and Nash, both are so brave.

Fate wasn't a victim, she was a survivor.

Wow! What a story, action, nail biting tension, revenge and love.
Fate is a great hacker. She decides to seek revenge after a devastating loss changes her life, it will be dangerous, but she will do anything to make the slime responsible pay and stop it happening again.
I don’t want to give too much away here, but Fate took too much on, but she’s much tougher than she’s thought she’d needed to be. She then meets Nash, their meetings for him were everything he needs to continue and something he’d hold dear for always.
Fate and Nash now have a connection that can never be compromised or broken.
Nash is badly injured after his experience, he now wants only one thing, find Fate, but found himself falling for the empty bliss at the bottom of a bottle. And Fate wants nothing more than to protect everyone in her confusion.
An emotional, intense and extremely exciting story, a definite must read

finding Fate was an intense read that really explored some sensitive issues. I really enjoyed the way that author integrated the suspense throughout the story and still managed to make it into a romance. The story and a lot of drama and angst throughout it that had me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen next.

Fate is a brave female character that has experienced a lot of hard times and is out for revenge.Throughout the story int is shown how much strength and determination that Fate possess.

Nash I really enjoyed reading about because of the way he tried to keep Fates spirits up when they are in an unfortunate situation. He was a great hero for the story.

This author knows how to write a story that was really engaging all the way through. I could not stop reading this story from start to finish. This is definite must read,

Fate Haley, a master hacker with nothing else to loose, sets out on a vengeance mission and finds herself in the African jungle where Nash Bartley is sent in to save her. Long nights in the African jungle and immediate attraction lead to longing, but will it be enough for them? Will they be able to save each other?

Finding Fate was my first Kennedy Mitchell read and it did not disappoint. I found myself engrossed in the storyline and deep in suspense regarding what would happen next. Overall, excellent read.

[ I received a digital arc for an honest review]

Finding Fate was an intense story that hooks you right from the start. It was well written and Kennedy L. Mitchell does a perfect job transitioning between the past and present tense, Wwich I have decided can make or break a book. It flowed smoothly and kept me completely immersed in the story line.

Fate is shy and reserved and spends her down time tracking down bad men on the internet. There's nowhere to hide from her on the internet and to avenge her sister she puts everything on the line to take down the man responsible. When she finds herself in a shack surrounded by despair she second guesses her actions but it's too late.

Nash "snowflake" was honorable discharged by standing up for whats right. His new job takes him on a rescue mission to extract Fate. When the mission doesn't go quite as planned he finds himself across from Fate in the shack and hanging on to his life. Nash and Fate find peace and the will to keep surviving in each other. They slowly build an emotional bond. Then one day they are separated and Fate finds herself on her own and running to stay alive. Nash finds himself back home and through physically alive, inside he's dying not knowing where Fate is. When they are finally reunited the danger is far from over, and they will find out if the bond they had was as real as they remember.

Finding Fate is a slow burn suspense romance. The passion between Fate and Nash grew until there was no holding it back. I loved Nash's alpha male protectiveness and care for Fate. He was exactly how I like my leading men. I look forward to reading more of Kennedy L. Mitchell's books in the future.

This book was such a fantastic surprise! Kennedy L. Mitchell is a new author to me, and I absolutely loved her writing. This story was non-stop suspense from the Prologue, and I stayed up way past my bedtime in order to devour it.

One thing I loved about this book is the setting. The majority of the story takes place in the jungles of Africa. It is raw, emotional, suspenseful, and the hero - Nash - will sweep you off your feet with his sexy smirk and smart mouth. Although the situation that Nash and Fate, the professional hacker who fled to Africa to catch her sister's killer, find themselves in is not pleasant, their flirty banter and chemistry somehow keep the story light and fresh. The author does a fantastic job of describing gut-wrenching and painful scenes and leaving the characters' emotions all out on the table.

Nash is a strong alpha hero who is overly confident, determined, and passionate about Fate; however, he has a sensitive side that comes out every once in a while and it is so swoon-worthy. They are both fighters, and their loyalty to the other one will have you gripping the arms of your chair hoping and praying that they can both find their way out of the terror they are living.

Fate is my hero - she is unique with her pink hair, she never graduated from HS - but is a brilliant hacker, and although she is not confident in herself, she is stronger and braver than most men. She will take on just about anything and kick anyone's ass to get her vengeance. I loved her and her sweet innocence when it came to her & Nash's relationship. The slow-burn of their relationship, along with their chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS. It felt so natural and real, and I fell for them hard.

This book will make you swoon, laugh, and have you turning the pages faster than ever. I was completely captivated, and I loved getting sucked into the "hacker's world". And - any romantic suspense story with the FBI and CIA involved are an added bonus. It's intriguing, and suspenseful, and these alpha men are HOT! The only thing I wanted more of from this book was an Epilogue. I just wanted more of Nash & Fate. But, I can't wait to see what's next from K.L. Mitchell - I am officially a fan! Well done!

In the Minority Here

But I literally hated this book. I’m not exactly sure how to describe Fate other than to say she is an absolute moron. Spoilers ahead.

How in the world can someone who is so booksmart have so little real world sense? I would call her a modern day Christopher McCandless - following her dangerous/idiotic dream while doing absolutely none of the necessary prep work.

She loses all of her senses when an out-of-shape nerd guy corners her for a kiss, and she thinks she’s going to be able to fly over to Africa and calmly wait to be given to this head guy as his virgin bride? She watched video footage of these men sexual assaulting, and then killing her sister, and her bright idea is to roll up in there with ABSOLUTELY NO SELF-DEFENSE TRAINING? And she thinks she’ll be able to kill him? She tells the FBI/CIA to come for her after 4 weeks even though head guys window for arrival is a very broad 2-4... girl, what were you planning on doing if he came early and you were stuck there to be repeatedly assaulted while waiting for help? And then the minute he gets her, she gives up her freaking identity and that she’s being tracked!!!

Utterly ridiculous. I stopped at 66% because she’s back in the US and is still being a trash moron. Both guys deserve better - I don’t want to see her get a happy ending because she’s such a disappointing character.

ALL OF THAT BEING SAID. Other than Fate, the actual writing was very well done and I am 100% willing to try something else by this author. I just hope this one was a flop.

Once again this author has blown me away! I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting and was left wondering what I was going to do with my life now that it was over. The story starts off with a bang and continues on from there, it’s fast paced and full of twists and turns that keep you turning the pages and clinging to the edge of your seat. I loved Nash and Fate, especially Nash. He was alpha when needed to be, adored his sisters and was super sweet to his niece, swoon worthy at times, what more could you want! Fate, although a bit geeky and spent most of her time alone, she was feisty, sassy , loved her family hard and took care of others, she was also a bit quirky, I loved her pink hair!

The story does cover a dark topic but I thought it was handled well, I loved the slow burn between Nash and Fate, I enjoyed seeing their relationship blossom and bloom over the course of the story. Although there was not many background characters, I loved the ones we get to meet, hopefully we get to read more about them down the line. Overall this was another amazing read from this author, i can’t recommend it highly enough, it’s one of my favourite reads so far this year! Wish i could give more than 5*.

I'm admittedly not generally a military or government agency thriller fan. But this one grabbed me by the throat and didn't let go until it was over!

Our unlikely heroine is a hard-luck hacker named Fate who is doing everything she can to keep her small family - herself, her sister Destiny and her mom - together and thriving. She has put off her future so Destiny can have one... but Destiny falls for the wrong guy and ends up part of a trafficking operation in Africa. Fate uses all the tools at her disposal to find her.

Nash is a member of an elite force sent in to help extract Destiny when things go a bit sideways. Things continue that direction, and they don't get to leave with the rest of the team. Without meaning to, he finds himself seeing her as more than the girl he was sent to bring home.

I couldn't stop reading, couldn't wait to see what would happen next to these characters. The whole cast is interesting and I will be seeking out more from this author!

There does need to be a significant trigger warning however. There is graphic sexual abuse depicted because that's what the bad guys are all about. Stay away if this topic is difficult for you!

When Fate suffers a devastating loss the only thing on her mind is vengeance. She may not have graduated high school, but she has managed to hone her skills as a hacker. Armed with the information she needs she has a plan to get the information she needs but when the rescue go sideways she is left behind with Nash.

Nash is one of the men sent in to rescue Fate however he ends up being captured as well. With only each other for comfort they manage to give each other the will to live and share everything about their lives with each other. Separated they don’t know if they will see each other again let alone if they both survived especially when the threat against them is far from over.

The strength that Fate showed through all that she went through is inspiring and the way that Nash refused to give up on her is enough to melt your heart. Full of suspense and mystery this story has you wondering what twist is coming up next and the relationship between them is more about romance than steam. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I do not know what it is about stories like this that catch my attention but this one did. The danger and romance is thrilling with it taking you along I guess. In this one Fate is out for her own agenda with her also being one computer wiz. That will also take her down a road that will lead to darkness and some madness but hope lives there too.
Nash is the one that will melt your insides as they meet with danger at every turn waiting to eat them. Pins and needles is just half of what happens as you read this. The stuff this author throws at them is alot but it doesn't stop there it keeps on through out the whole thing. The zingers that will come at them you are left in awe at times that hope doesn't die. The surprise at the end is the clincher that left me like a dear in headlights look and feeling.
From start to finish this one will take you into their world with you becoming part of it but when you are finished you will actually sigh thinking I did at least wanting more of them.

Finding Fate by Kennedy L. Mitchell
Narrated by Amelie Griffin and Mason Lloyd
4.25 stars
affiliate links

Wow, what a story! There was a lot of action and suspense in this one that had me biting my nails into the night. It’s a pretty intense story that explored the sensitive issue of human trafficking in living color.

Fate is a hacker, and after suffering a tragedy, she only wants revenge. She tracks down her target and ends up captured in the African jungle. Nash…gosh I loved Nash. He’s sent in to rescue her and they both end up in a horrific situation.

Finding Fate had twists and turns that kept me biting my nails and listening all night. It was a much darker book than what I usually read, but it was so exciting, I loved the change.

The Narration: Mason Lloyd talks very slow. I had to speed this up a lot more than usual, and whether slow or fast, his voice is a bit too mechanical sounding for me. Amelie Griffin did a great job as Fate aka Poppy.

Rating: 4.25 Stars, 3.5 Heat, 4 narration

Till this time when I grab Finding Fate in my hand, I have no idea about Kennedy L. Mitchell.
Since day when I started to read Finding Fate, Kennedy L. Mitchell didn't have no idea about her new stalker - ME.
I can't remeber why I decide to start my journey with this author, but for sure this decision was RIGHT. Almost every time I don't read blurb - I like to be suprised what book has inside. When I open this story on page no 1, I was sure that I have another steamy book in my hands. How can I be so stupid? I said not once and more that twice don't judge the book by it's cover, right?

Finding Fate was for me like huge earthquake below my feet.... I would never have thought that I'll be so much suprised by this story, in every possible way.

When I think of this book I have only ONE on my mind - REVENGE.
Main female character Fate is tough girl who have THIS one goal in her life, she's ready for everthing, even if this will cost her life. Because of that, problems won't avoid her... she will need to manage very hard times in her life. That's why in this journey Fate will find companion - Nash. I love how they react on each other form the very first sight. I love how they survived every tough moment in this book. How they want to show bad people, that they doesn't have to sleep calm in the night.
Maybe this book was all about revenge but for sure there's also place for love.
Love to family, love between woman and man... and just love for life.

I highly recomend this book for everyone who likes to reading romances with mistery and actions in the background. Finding Fate can sucks in compeletly.

Kennedy L. Mitchell definitely knocked it out of the park with Finding Fate, and I'm still reeling from all the excitement. I'm not going to go into too many details, as this was romantic suspense at it's best, and I want no spoiler douchery tainting the heart pounding goodness that I experienced for anyone else. Basically there's genius hacker Fate, who would do anything for her family, which is the reason she goes on a quest for revenge that lands her in some serious danger. Nash is part of the Contract Special Operations team that has him trying to rescue her, and through some very harsh circumstances they get to know each other, which leads to a strong connection. And that's all that I'm going to give away because this journey is filled with twists & turns around every corner, which had me dropping f-bombs like a boss. Luckily between all the heart pounding moments, their connection leads to some sexy times that light the sheets on fire, while a cast of secondaries provide more suspense as I was suspicious of so many of them since they were full of the good, bad, and dangerously ugly. However, there was a tiny human, and four legged baby that really stole the show with their humorous moments, which was needed because of the high angst factor that threatened to bring me to my knees. This story ticked off all my boxes for a perfectly EPIC read, and I really hope that Ms. Mitchell writes more about these people of Contract Special Operations in the near future (hint hint)! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Nash "Snowfalke" Bartley is on a special Operations team and is sent in to rescue a girl who has been captured but when the mission goes wrong he forms a close bond with the girl.

Fate Haley is a computer programmer/hacker and is hell-bent on destroying the men who tore apart her family and took her sister, Destiny, away from her. Fate goes in undercover hoping to find answers but when her rescue falls apart she begins a friendship with the man who tried to save her.

Now in the present Nash discovers that Fate is alive and will do whatever he can to protect her from whomever took her. Can they discover who is behind everything in time?

This was a great read that I really enjoyed.

My heart broke for Fate with what she lost and then what she was trying to accomplish. She was trying to discover what happened to her sister and then ended up in such a bad situation and then her heart caused her escape to fail.

Nash was a strong character and he wanted to protect Fate but his mission failed and he ended up in a very bad situation. He hung on for as long as he could to keep her safe and he was completely torn up when he had no clue where she was.

I guessed one of the bad guys early on but I needed to see if I was right and how everything was going to turn out!

I loved Fate's relationship with Mac and how he worked so well with Nash at keeping Fate as safe as they could.

There were a few twists and turns that I was not expecting and I had a great ride with this book!

Finding Fate is full of twist and turns with underlying dark and dangerous situations, Fate and Nash are thrown into the worst of the worst falling in love was not part of the plan.

Fate was doing her best, she was a hacker doing contract work for the FBI and CIA, her life was destroyed in one moment. Finding vengeance was the only thing keeping her going, when she came up with a plan no one could say no to her. Fate has 4 weeks to execute her plan, when the cavalry arrives ahead of schedule her selfless actions effect more than just herself. Nash had found his calling, being part of a Special Operations team, he was given a mission to get in and get out with ‘Poppy’ when a split decision changes his course he is left fighting for survival. Just when you think they are safe you are left trying to figure out who is good or bad.

This my first Mitchell novel and I enjoyed the plot, while there were some aspects that were pushing the boundaries the outline structure was solid. Finding Fate took me on a journey that kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Finding Fate was a fast-paced, exciting, engaging and sizzling hot read! I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but I was excited to read it because the synopsis instantly interested me. And I really feel like I got everything I hoped for and more with it! The characters are wonderful, the story well written and the romance was spiked with plenty of action and suspense.

This book wasn't slow in the slightest. Everything moved at a nice pace. There was some twists and lots of heat that kept me sitting on the edge. I really liked Nash and Fate. They were both such strong characters and so full of life and passion. You couldn't deny the desire brewing between in the slightest and that made things feel so steamy. I could read this again in a heartbeat happily, and still get the same enjoyment out of it that I had the first time. A VERY good read!

Finding Fate gets a THRILLING FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

I really enjoyed this story. Kennedy Mitchell wrote an amazing story. I'm pretty new to her, but this book was one that can't be missed. I loved the fast pace, action-packed adventure that is Finding Fate.

I loved Fate's character. She's smart, I mean off the charts smart. She's a little introverted, but who isn't. She wants revenge. Plotting and hacking is her way to get back at those who have hurt her and her family. I loved how she wasn't afraid to do what was needed to get the peace she was looking for. Nash...where to even begin with this man. He's sweet, intelligent, strong, and wants to bring Fate home. These two survive off each other and live to keep the other safe.

I don't want to give anything away about this amazing book. Please check it out. Kennedy Mitchell really outdid herself with this one. I can't wait to see what's next.

I swooned, I gasped, I cringed and I loved every minute of this terrific romance suspense. Terrific writing in this story full of action, adventure, danger and sensitive love with fantastic characters. Fate/Poppy stole my heart with her smarts, her awkward social skills and her endurance through the tragic events. Fate's revenge plan goes awry and she is about to give up hope until reinforcements arrive. Her savior, Nash/Snowflake (love the nickname) is one funny hot hunk set to rescue her but it goes wrong. He's tortured at his failure until she's found. But all is not well. Their road to recovery and finding their way back to each other is wonderful. Lots of emotion with the traumatic subject matter and this wonderful couple. Great secondary characters, hopefully for future stories. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC. 4.5 stars
