Author Alexa Dare, with the oversight of the Jellicle Three (Jasmine, Lightning, and Stormy of feline persuasion), writes time travel and paranormal romance the way she likes to read them: sensual, adventurous, memorable. Along with spending time with her happily-ever-after alpha outdoorsman, Alexa cozies up at home—when not devoting her time to writing and bringing sexy romances to readers—with movies, popcorn, and triple chocolate cupcakes, not necessarily in that order.

This was an interesting book. It started a little slow but didn't take long to pick up. It is suspenseful and keeps you guessing as to what these people were gonna do next. The children have some really neat skills. However, I felt sad for these children and their predicament. I am interested to see what else Vincent can do since his part was kind of understated in this book. I really enjoyed this story and I am definitely curious about what book 2 has in store for readers.

Savage Winds

Darci Lynn was a happy go lucky seven year old, being cared for by her Mawmaw and Pawpaw. She loved to play outside, under her favorite apple tree. She didn't have any friends, but that was OK, because the wind would play with Darci Lynn whenever she wanted. But Darci didn't understand why she couldn't play with the wind whenever she wanted; but she soon found out when the bad men came, and took her away from her Pawpaw and Mawmaw....

A secret government installation, buried in the mountains of Tennessee; a secret city hidden from view... Where unimaginable and horrific experiments are being conducted on children... Children with the power of the elements. Stripped from their homes and their families, they battle to escape.... But will they?

Riveting! Couldn't put this book down! Fast paced and action packed, with complex plot twists and an abundance of characters and unexpected scenarios. Can't wait to see what happens next!

“When nature, put into the hands of children that rule wind, earth, fire, water, and the void, refuses to be controlled, can mankind endure?”

Children are very accepting, some might say gullible. Their innocent play makes adults uncomfortable when elements are involved. 7 year old Darci Lynn’s been taken from her MawMaw and PawPaw and secreted away to a government facility where she, and 4 other kids are being manipulated as weapons. Their responses and attempts to “fight back” make this a real page turner and looking forward to the rest of the series. Original and highly recommended. 5/5

Children with various powers over the elements, have been the results of some power cracy General, trying to use the abilities for weapons. Unfortunately, children are not easily manipulated, so the trails of the children's abilities result in the worst possible outcomes.
Interesting ideas and storyline.

While very intriguing, this book sort of lost me by the end. Worth it nevertheless.
