True Crime Stories Volume 11: 12 Shocking True Crime Murder Cases

Rate this book
In this true crime anthology you’ll learn about some of the most shocking true crime cases that have happened in the last forty years. You will find yourself thrust into a world that is often depraved but always intriguing and fascinating, leaving you wanting to read more. These twelve cases, which span the globe, are a true testament to the idea that crime comes in all shapes and sizes.

There are a number of themes in this volume, including missing persons, road trips gone wrong, and family annihilations. You will read about a case in New Zealand where two young people celebrating the New Year vanished without a trace never to be seen again, yet a man was still put on trial for their murders. The tragic case of Denise Pikka Thiem—a woman who went on a world trip to find spiritual meaning but ended up murdered—is also profiled in this book. The unfortunate phenomenon of mass murder, particularly family annihilation, is covered in two uniquely bizarre cases in this book. In one case, a man claimed a voodoo demon drove him to murder his family, while in another a man dressed as Santa Claus attempted to murder an entire family during the holiday season. Along with those cases are several others that highlight the strange and dangerous world of the modern criminal.

After reading all of the murder mysteries in this volume you will be left wanting to read more.
So sit back, relax, and open the pages of this engaging true crime book to learn the secrets of some of the worst criminals to walk the earth over the last forty years!

I live in one of the most beautiful places in Florida, Jupiter, with my wife, two kids and our golden retriever, Vincent. I've been a full time author for the last 15 years and I wouldn't trade it against anything in the world!

My father was a journalist and wrote about some of the worst crimes you could ever imagine, and that's where my big interest from serial killers and other horrible crimes comes from. Just to hear my father talk about the evil acts of Ted Bundy as we were out fishing as a kid are some of my best memories.

Grisly goings-on.

Here's another interesting collection of true crime stories from Jack Rosewood. These are fairly short books of about 160 pages where Rosewood examines 12 different murder cases. These range from shocking, to totally bizarre, to terrible beyond belief. As well as the actual cases, Rosewood provides historical details about the murderers, and their victims.

As in all the previous volumes, again there are a great variety of cases and scenarios covered-eg. a killing on the Camino de Santiago, a murder on a cruise, and many more.

Great quick reads-I read this and volume 12 back to back in the last couple of days.

ANOTHER GREAT READ

I have read quite a few books by this author. A lot of the cases he writes about I am not familiar with. Mr. Rosewood takes you through it all, from the person's childhood, crimes, capture, and the trial and punishment. If you enjoy true crime, this author is for you.

Not disappointed

I must admit that I am always pleasantly surprised by this authors amazing talent. So I know when I see a new title that I am going to buy it no matter what. That being said this book was no different. As always I am pleasantly surprised and just wish it didn't seem to be over so quick, lol.......
As always, Mr. Rosewood know just what to do to keep us his readers beyond satified. But with this book I think it's one of the first and only times that I have actually read a book about killers, where NONE I had heard of!!! So it was almost like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!!! So if you are looking for a great read and a beyond talented author look no further!! I am positive you will love and enjoy this book just as much as me!!! Now I am more then ready for his next book it could not come out soon enough, LMAO!!!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This is the first time I've listened to one of Rosewood's True Crime Stories and not known any of the people discussed in the book. This book was really interesting, covering a range of countries (I particularly liked the one discussed where the person went around pretty much the entire UK in an attempt to evade capture) and a range of crimes (family annihilators and missing persons and more). I listened to this book in one sitting, and I wasn't disappointed.

True Crime genius

True Crime author Jack Rosewood is quickly becoming one of my favorites. He writes a succinct, well documented book with various murders and murderers highlighted. In this volume he covers 12 more cases from random senseless killings to spousal murder because "she wouldn't stop laughing at me." These cases will shock and surprise you in their brutality as well as intrigue you to want to know why the murder occurred. I highly recommend this book to all true crime readers as Jack Rosewood continues to deliver excellent work.

‘Crime eats at the very fabric of a society in a plethora of different ways.’

Florida author Jack Rosewood inherited his fascination for heinous crimes from his father, a journalist covering major grim crimes such as Ted Bundy. He is fascinated with serial killers – their development psychologically, their preparation for their life of crime, and the details of how they made their bloody black marks on the world. Jack moves away from his intensive studies of serial killers to explore strange crimes most of which are discoveries for the reader – even the Jack Rosewood reader! In addition to his books on individual serial killers he has published four collections. He calls these collections TRUE CRIME STORIES: TRUE CRIME ANTHOLOGY and in this eleventh volume he shares twelve very shocking and strange crimes that have eluded the widespread press.

As usual Jack opens with an introduction explaining the decision to place these gruesome stories before us: ‘When you open the pages of this book you’ll be transferred into a world where criminals think they rule, but where they also usually get their just rewards. The nature of some of these crimes is hard for most normal people to understand and most are truly disturbing, yet you will no doubt keep reading. These are twelve of the most perplexing and bizarre crime cases from around the world that have happened in the last forty years. Although none of these crimes are directly connected to each other, there are some common threads that make some of these cases eerily similar. Vacation travel and going on road trips is a favorite pastime for millions of people around the world. Although there are inherent dangers associated with travel, for most, especially in industrialized countries, road tripping is as safe as it is enjoyable. In this volume, you will learn about two cases where road tripping went terribly wrong. First there is the case of the retired couple, Lyle and Marie McCann, who spent their golden years in a recreational vehicle traveling across Canada and the United States. They never had any problems until a chance encounter with a career criminal. Across the Atlantic Ocean in Spain, an American hiker met with a similar demise along a path that is used by religious pilgrims, but also by violent criminals from time to time. The case of Lyle and Marie McCann is also significant in the annals of crime history because someone was charged with their murders even though their bodies have yet to be discovered. Thousands of miles away and about fifteen years earlier, a similar case played out in New Zealand. You will read about how two young New Year’s revelers accepted a ride from a stranger and were never seen again. You will read about two examples of mass murder that share some disturbing similarities. The perpetrators of both cases attempted to wipe out an entire family, but the details of each were extremely bizarre. You will have to read it to believe it. Similar to all the volumes in this series, some cases can only be classified as strange and creepy. You will read about the possible existence of a cult in Australia comprised of well-connected men that operated during the 1970s and 1980s. Instead of going out in the woods and conducting arcane rituals, this cult is alleged to have abducted, raped, and murdered at least five young men, with many more victims suspected. Finally, you will learn about a case where social media helped catch an unlikely killer. Like many young people today, the killer was a social media junky, who tried to use social media as an alibi. The scheme worked for a while, but the more investigators looked at this suspect the killer’s own social media pages helped lead to an arrest.

The heinous crimes included in this collection are The Abduction and Murder of Samantha Knight, The Murder of Zoe Hastings, Mayhem on the Camino Santiago, The Unicorn Killer, The Lyle and Marie McCann Murder Case, Mesac Damas, the Voodoo Family Annihilator, he Disappearance of Ben Smart and Olivia Hope, The Murder of Susan Morris, Cheyenne Rose Antoine, the Social Media Murderess, Bevan Spencer von Einem and “the Family” Murders, The Covina Massacre, and The Murder of Kirsty Manzanares.

Some of these crimes we know, most we do not know. Jack explains in fine detail the facts leading up to the crime and the personalities of the perpetrators. This is yet another extremely fine anthology by Jack Rosewood.

Regardless of what genre of books you might love to read, for that there are always a handful of authors for whom you can’t wait to read their next endeavor. For this reviewer, who’s a Top Contributor for True Crime books Jack Rosewood is that kind of author for me for this genre.

In each of his anthologies of True Crime Stories, he’s selected specific theme[s] in which to write about murderers throughout the world who for some reasons have been able to exist below radar of practically all sorts of news media.

For this installment, Mr. Rosewood has chosen a number of themes, including that of vacations which have gone astray, disappearing individuals, and most unfortunately the extinction of families.

For each of the twelve stories this book contains, the author gives his readers a brief bio of the murderer which includes a reason for their depravity, the murder[s] itself, and the aftermath.

Crimes of murder exist throughout the world; and the perpetrators of them are so varied that you might have one standing next to you at any time, for you can’t tell by their outward appearance of what they’ve done or are capable of doing.

For giving me and the rest of his readers another dozen true crime stories which are as always captivating and riveting, I’ve given Mr. Rosewood the 5 STARS he’s gotten from me.

12 Shocking True Crime Murder Cases...

This is another great read that was really hard to put down. It's an insightful and graphically detailed account of some of the most horrific crimes. In fact, while reading yet another of Jack Rosewoods books I had to keep turning the pages yet again. Not necessarily because it's all that enjoyable in any way, shape or form, to delve a little too deeply into the malefic minds of such murderous men, but because I sincerely believe that most people are fascinated in one way or another by serial killers. Perhaps it’s the human morbid fascination with death. I’m not exactly sure. However, maybe it just astounds the average person as to how depraved other individuals can be.

Even if you are a seasoned campaigner of true crime, True Crime Stories Volume 11 will surely raise more than a few hairs on the back of your neck. It was a first-class read and the author gave a perspective to these horrific crimes that was both fascinating and intriguing. This was one of the better true crime books that I have read recently.

I would highly recommend this read to all fans of the true-crime genre. I’m also a big fan of Jack Rosewood so it’s another 5 Stars from me. Well done again!

Interesting book!

This book gives chilling accounts of murderers and their crimes from all over the world. I did notice a few errors i.e. a surname of a Saskatoon murderer was spelled two different ways and had went missing was used in a sentence about Neil Muir in Australia ( it should have been had gone missing). Otherwise, Mr. Rosewood did a good job with this book.

A true crime fan's delight

Here's a mixed bag of true crime stories, each one shocking to the senses. The cruelty and inhumanity displayed by these murderers is horrifying to contemplate and is enough to make the reader distrustful of even family and best friends.

Loved it

Jack Rosewood this is definitely one of the best books i have read on a long time. These stories are all new to me. Sometimes unfortunately I'll read books by other author only to read the same stories in too many other true crime books. So this is great 👍
