I'm always on the lookout for healthy lunch options and I love salad so this seemed a good choice of book for me.
I loved this book, way more than I expected. It's well written and laid out, it gives clear instructions and the recipes are followed by a picture so you can see exactly what it will/should look like.
I found this worked a lot better on my iPad than my kindle for one thing the pictures were in colour.
It starts as you'd expect with an introduction explaining why jars are a good idea, it lists the equipment you will need and explains how to go about designing your own, which layer goes first etc.
There's then a small section on grains, fruit and vegetables.
Dressing are next and we're given a picture of the ingredients, a list of ingredients, a picture of the completed dressing and then the instructions for each one.
Balsamic Vinaigrette
Lemon Vinaigrette
Tahini Zinger
French Vinaigrette
Thai Pick-Me-Up Caesar Dressing
Green Goddess
Red Wine Vinaigrette
Apple Cider Vinaigrette Creamy Dressing
Almond Miso Dressing
The dressings look gorgeous, I'm quite fussy when it comes to dressing my salads but I'm going to try every one of these.
The next section covers raw food.
'A raw food diet promises a wide array of health benefits, from weight loss to lower blood pressure. In this chapter you will find salads that are raw and vegan while also being nutrient-dense, colorful, and delicious. All of the recipes in this chapter are made in pint (2-cup) jars.'
And again we're given a picture of the ingredients, a picture of the completed salad in the jar and then the assembly instructions with the time it takes to make.
