Paranormal private investigator and witch Ruby Hart needs a man—specifically, a man with a unique tattoo. Finding him for her anonymous client will put her fledgling business in the supernatural haven town of Nocturne Falls, Georgia in the black for months.
Maximilian Cornelius Vandervere the Fourth was a privileged and respected member of one of Alpha-Prime’s most elite families before the Incident made him a social pariah. An uncomplicated life as Max Vander in the secret alien colony on Earth is the perfect solution. The double whammy of a love spell and a truth spell is definitely a complication he doesn’t need.
Ruby can’t help but notice the tall, gorgeous blond alien. It’s hard to ignore a man who keeps declaring his love and proposing marriage to a woman he’s just met. And it’s clear he needs help.
Fiona Roarke is a multi-published author who lives a quiet life with the exception of the characters and stories roaming around in her head. She writes about sexy alpha heroes and used them to launch her very first series, Bad Boys in Big Trouble.
Next up, a new Sci-Fi contemporary romance series set in Arkansas. When she's not curled on the sofa reading a great book or at the movie theater watching the latest action film, Fiona spends her time writing about the next bad boy (or bad boy alien) who needs his story told.
A hearty dose of laughter, each and every day, is required along with lots of coffee first thing in the morning as important parts of her routine.
An alien story with a spark of mystery in the paranormal Universe of Nocturne Falls. A town that celebrates Halloween every day so the paranormal residents can live openly. 7th book by this author with an alien theme in the paranormal world. Max is under a witch’s spell and tells Ruby that he loves her the first time they meet. Witches, mayhem and trickery twist through this story compellingly along with “I love you and want to marry you” stated continuously from Max to Ruby.
Max is adorable and sweet while slightly out of his element. Ruby is smart and enamored while foiling the bad guy. Sheriff Marlow, Birdie and Howlers are the key elements from Nocturne Falls.
"Ruby didn’t know what was with this guy. Sure, he was gorgeous, but after five seconds of acquaintance he’d already told her he loved her and wanted to marry her."
Yep, that's the plot right there. Lol.
Ruby's an paranormal investigator who was hired to find someone. Fortunately, Max is the one she's looking for and he was also cursed by a love potion and a truth serum. Their lives got entangled in more ways than one.
So fun, so quirky and just a good time.
Perfect thing I read it in the mood I was in because in any other circumstance, this might be over-the-top for me.
I don't really have a lot of things to say about this book, just that it's short and very straight-forward. Cozy mystery set in small town with great characters.
The Witch’s Enchanted Alien was a lighthearted and fast paced read. The characters were quirky but maybe not completely fleshed out. The romance was insta-love but not annoying. The mystery was fun, and had me guessing a bit. There was little too much exposition at times for me.
I feel like in these types of book series I might be missing foundational things that would help me connect with side characters more (like the brothers and the sheriff) if I actually read the other books.
The biggest compliment I can give this book was that I didn’t miss the spice at all. It would have honestly felt rushed (even though it was insta-love we would have gone into consent issues since he was enchanted or whatever). Every now and then a sweet book is nice to get my mind out of the gutter I suppose lol!
Cute story, and enchanting characters. This is my favorite of the Hart family books. I recommend reading the previous two NFU books by Ms. Roarke before reading this one. While this is her seventh book in the NFU series, the first 4 can be skipped without missing anything major in this story. I rounded my review up from 4.5 stars.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! I loved the book! Ruby was hired to deliver a message to a man w/ a tattoo in his finger. Max left Alpha Prime to escape being a pariah. When Ruby finds the man, she did not anticipate falling him love as well. I loved the storytelling + the characters. It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
This is already the author's seventh story in Nocturne Falls following the three rescue stories Close Encounters Of The Alien Kind, Invasion of the Alien Snatchers and The Alien Who Fell To Earth. There is also a short story Have Yourself a Merry Little Alien from Merry & Bright: A Christmas Anthology (Nocturne Falls Universe), The Dragon's Spellbound Alien, The Vampire's Unintended Alien. The stories are best read in order and complemented by the author's Alienn, Arkansas series, You've Got Aliens, How to Lose an Alien in 10 Days, My Big Fat Alien Wedding, and 10 Things Aliens Hate About You has been announced. This story follows Ruby, a witch and newly found sister of Victor and Warrick who we met in the previous two stories, and Max, an alien from Alpha-Prime who decided to settle on Earth after some heavily trying times he faced at home. The story is incredibly funny, and romantic, and just lovely, brimming with all kinds of positivity. This author is also one of my favourite in this universe, with her incredible skill in incorporating aliens from her other series Alienn, Arkansas, into paranormal universe of Nocturne Falls. The Nocturne Falls is a great series and the reading order is: The Vampire's Mail Order Bride (Nocturne Falls #1), The Werewolf Meets His Match (Nocturne Falls #2), The Gargoyle Gets His Girl (Nocturne Falls, #3), The Professor Woos The Witch (Nocturne Falls, #4), and The Witch’s Halloween Hero (Nocturne Falls #4.5) in Spell of the Ball Anthology, The Werewolf's Christmas Wish (Nocturne Falls #4.6) in Hex the Halls Anthology, The Vampire’s Fake Fiancée (Nocturne Falls #5), A Vampire's Valentine Surprise (Nocturne Falls #5.5), Miss Frost Solves A Cold Case: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #1), The Shifter Romances The Writer (Nocturne Falls #6), Miss Frost Ices The Imp: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #2), The Vampire’s True Love Trials (Nocturne Falls #6.5) in Taming the Vampire collection, Miss Frost Saves The Sandman: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #3), The Dragon Finds Forever (Nocturne Falls #7), The Vampire's Accidental Wife (Nocturne Falls #8), Miss Frost Cracks A Caper: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #4), Miss Frost Braves The Blizzard: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #5), The Reaper Rescues The Genie (Nocturne Falls #9), The Detective Wins The Witch (Nocturne Falls Book 10), Miss Frost Chills The Cheater: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost Book 6), and ever growing series of Nocturne Universe Novels, which surpassed 40 by now. Great world to get yourself immersed in.
Series: Alien, Arkansas #3.6; Nocturne Falls Universe Rating: 3 stars - I liked it
Paranormal private investigator and witch, Rudy Hart, is searching for a man with a unique hand tattoo. Finding him means her fledgling business will have a chance at succeeding in Nocturne Falls. What she doesn’t expect is a gorgeous alien to declare he loves her and wants to marry her.
This was a fun and quick story. Ruby is searching for her target at the Black & Orange Ball and keeps being drawn to an alien dress as the huntsmen. He is drawn to her as well but unfortunately has been spelled and they are both unsure if the feelings are real. I liked both of these characters. Ruby was a great addition to the Hart family. I loved her interactions with her brothers.
Max used to be a rich party man but after an incident he moves to Earth to start a new life. For a man who used to have everything, he was a very kind and caring character. I was expecting snobbery but he was a pretty good hero. Their relationship is an instant love one but at least this one takes place over a few days of them getting to know each other.
Overall, a cute and sweet story with the Hart family. Now I hope the aunt finds a partner and her HEA.
This is a great book; this book is part of the Nocturne Falls Universe and is written by Fiona Roarke. The Nocturne Falls series is written by Kristen Painter and I was so happy that these new books by new authors were asked to write a story in the town. Nocturne Falls is a town that celebrates Halloween every day of the year and also a place that paranormal’s can live and not have to hide what they really are. Ruby Hart is a witch and a paranormal private investigator, she was hired by an anonymous client who wants her to find a man with a unique tattoo. Maximilian Cornelius Vandervere the Fourth was a privileged and respected member of one of Alpha-Prime’s most elite families before the Incident made him a social pariah. An uncomplicated life as Max Vander in the secret alien colony on Earth is the perfect solution. Ruby soon realizes that Max is under a spell and is determined to help him. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author.
A witch and an alien? That is definitely a first for me. Though these Alpha aliens basically looked like humans but taller. But I guess he wasn't supposed to stand out appearance-wise...all the non-humans were supposed to be discreet with their real identities.
I felt that certain thoughts and information were repeated within short intervals. And depending on how convincing the writing is, I don't mind insta-love. But Ruby's feelings were way too sudden. Hmm..well if I were approached by a handsome gentle non-judgemental alien professing his love...I probably would be overly flattered and smitten too.
Overall, this was a fast-paced, simple, inoffensive, and low-angst read. I liked Ruby's relationship with her half brothers. Max was cute, and he had me chuckling when he would blurt out his love for Ruby. I liked Max and Ruby as a couple and wished for more moments of them together. Nocturne Falls seems like an interesting world, but this story wasn't very exciting so continuing the series isn't at the top of my list.
This is a story about Ruby, a witch, and Max, an alien. Max had come to Nocturne Falls by way of Alienn, Arkansas after being found innocent of a crime he had been accused of. Ruby works as a Paranormal Investigator in Nocturne Falls and meets Max at the Black and Orange Ball without realizing that she was meeting the man she was paid to find. While at the Ball, Max gets put under a truth and love spell by two drunk witches and immediately declares his love for Ruby. Their relationship grows as strange things start happening to Max and another incident happens to frame him for arson. This book has romance, mystery, and a twist that will keep the reader on their toes.
Ruby is a private investigator working on a case. Her goal is to find a man with a mysterious finger tattoo. Max is in hiding, hiding from his past, his reputation and his name.
Ruby and Max’s story is one of a past full of pain. They’ve both had family turn their back on them for something they didn’t do. Their story is very insta-love, much like all the stories written in the NFU by Ms Roarke. They are cute together and theirs a mystery needing to be solved. A great read that brings forward the romance aspect along with some mystery to keep you guessing.
I have enjoyed all of Fiona Roarke's contributions to the Nocturne Falls Universe Series, and this new one - the third to centre on one of the Hart siblings - was no exception. I still feel her Alien/Fantasy mash ups are one of the most original ideas in the series, and I find her books fun, easy to read and entertaining. This one is probably best read after the two previous books to feature the Hart family - The Dragon's Spellbound Alien and The Vampire's Unintended Alien - for maximum enjoyment.
If you have already enjoyed "The Vampire's Unintended Alien" (Viktor's story) and "The Dragon's Spellbound Alien" (Warrick's story), then you will enjoy also this story (their sister Ruby's story). I looked forward to each time Max (her hero) said "I love you and I want to marry you." It made me smile each time. Cute story. Be sure to check out her other Alienn books too!
This was one of the best NFU story in this batch. Well, I could say that it’s the best. I don’t usually like the alien story, but this one was very enjoyable. I love Max with his sweetness and awkward moments. I love Ruby with her smartness. I simply love this book.
I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.
A wonderful tale of love at first sight, drunk witches can make it happen. The Ellinghams orange and black ball seems to be the setting for numerous stories in the Nocturne Falls Universe. This time around family is the background thread while a doppleganger courts mischief and mayhem.
This one felt like it was much faster paced. Once again, I'm not the biggest fan of Insta love but for a cute short story, its not bad. Nice to see all of the Hearts get happy endings. Maybe there are a few more stories to tell....aunt Vilma....
I’m beginning to love the Hart family, as well as Fiona’s Alphas, as much as the rest of Nocturne Falls. The Witch’s Enchanted Alien was as much fun as her other stories.
This was my favorite of the aliens in Nocturnal Falls books. The spell that the Witches put Max under is great. I love the family reunions that happened to both of the main characters. Great story.
I loved this book, I was happy to see Ruby get a HEA and Max was perfect for her! I hope that they do get to match make Aunt Vilma and Uncle Milo next!
I love the added 👽 Aliens that are from another world and are starting to settle from Alienn, Arkansas to Nocturne Falls, Georgia. Great characters with a fun story.
