Josie sees ghost. She has been hiding from family and friends ever since an episode in college left her feeling vulnerable and unwilling to endanger those closest to her. However, when her brother comes asking for help, she pulls on reserves to ask his best friend, and her biggest crush, for help.
Josie and Bryce’s relationship was a unique second chance romance! Unique in location and reasoning, at least. The characters were reasonably developed and with their previous history, it provided a foundation for them to pick up and move forward.
I am loving Abigail’s writing! Her characters are interesting, amusing, and find themselves in the weirdest predicaments. While the books are full stories, even the novellas pack a wallop and are quite entertaining!

Josie sees ghosts but she has kept this fact hidden from her crush Bryce. When the ghost of her badly injured brother comes to her and asks her to find his body she has to come clean to Bryce about her gift. Bryce has liked Josie for a while and cannot understand why she pulled away from him. He doubts her claims about seeing ghosts but does agree to help her find her brother. The book is short and if the reader was not aware of Josie and Bryce’s long-standing feelings for on another the development of their romance would have felt rushed. All in all, I liked this story and would have loved for it to be longer. Even though this book is a short story in the Brimstone Inc. series, there is no real connection to the series until the very end. For that reason, this book could be read as a standalone.

I loved this story. the plot was excellent with a rich detailed emotionally tugging wonderfully described cast of characters. a little different romance for me I really loved how the author portrayed Josie who could see and talk to ghosts and also how the spirit world has both nice and negative beings much like our real life spirit world.
I enjoyed how Bryce was able to embrace her gift despite being skeptical at first and how he stood firm behind her trying to protect her even though he couldn't see what he was fighting.
The ending where he could speak to and see his dead parents was the icing on the cake and a fantastic conclusion. I would highly recommend anyone loving the paranormal romance field to give this book a read. Can't wait to read some more Brimstone Inc.

Delightful tale about a ghost whisperer, Josie, in love with her childhood crush, Bryce but haunted by an unknown malevolent spirit. I could feel the emotional pain that Josie was in due to her circumstances. And also that of Bryce. The growth of their relationship is inspiring.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Haunting. Inspirational. Page-turner. Romantic. Scary. Steamy. Tear-jerker. Tragic. Twisted. Wonderful characters.

A second chance love story and a ghost. Josie has a gift she kept secret from her brother's best friend. She can interact with ghosts. When one comes along and threatens her and people she loves, she pushes everyone away. But now she needs Bryce help to find her very ghostly brother.
Entertaining story but I missed chemistry and connection to the characters. Felt more like a prequel to introduce a new series. Still hoping there might be more developed relationships and ready to try another book from this series.

So much happened in this novella. There's a rescue mission, ghosts, and a second chance romance going on. I'm curious to see how this ties into the next book.
Josie and Bryce were great. Their romance is heartwarming. Josie's powers were interesting and hopefully she pops up in later books. I'm curious to see if ghosts are explored more in future books since a potential story line was introduced here.
Definitely recommend to fans of the series.

Omg I loved it! I read the ARC. Don't know if the actual book is different but honestly, my only complaint is that I wish there was more and more! Such a good read!

I thought this was a great little novella. It leverages a past history to give the starring pair second chance at a HEA. This is available to subscribers of the author's newsletter.

A Ghost of a Chance is a quick, entertaining second chance romance. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. It easily held my attention and I liked that it had a lot of funny moments to balance out the more serious drama of the story.

I feel a bit mean giving this book only three stars, I think that it's probably worth a good 3 1/2 but not quite a four, hence the score. This was a very enjoyable, if very short, novella. I actually enjoyed it so much that I stayed up late last night in bed reading it. Sometimes that's the danger of novellas, it tempts you to keep reading, as there's not that much further to go till the end so I might as well finish it.
I think that this is part of a series, although I haven't read any of them. I don't think that it really mattered though. It was still a really enjoyable read.

He soon will be if she doesn't convince his best friend to help her go and find him on a trail that he has gone on a hike on. The only problem is that said best friend hates her, despite the fact that they both had a big thing for one another.
There was a lot to cover in this short novella. Both the background of the couple and Josie's history. It mostly worked out well, but there were perhaps a few unanswered questions towards the end due to the length of the story. I do wonder if these are covered in other books in the series though?
Overall I really enjoyed it and I'm finding that Abigail Owen is fast becoming an author whose work I really enjoy. I'll certainly be checking out more of her work soon.
