A cute little adventure book about two brothers who try to prevent an earth quake. I only read this because my favourite author David Levithan wrote it, it's one of his first published books, back from 1998.

In The Heart of the Quake is the second in a series but I didn't read book 1, so I think it can be read as a stand-alone, too. The ending hints at a third book but I don't think there were ever published more than two.

I actually learned some things about the history of earthquakes and how they come into being. It was portrayed rather nicely with the help of infographics (kinda felt like homework mixed into fiction).

Also the writing style was really good for a middle grade novel. I could definitely sense David's style there.
