Short but sweet guide to different breathing techniques. The techniques are described in a very straightforward way with simple illustrations where appropriate. A very nice reference for anyone interested in harnessing the breath for relaxation, energisation, to help them sleep etc.
A beautiful book. Some of it was very helpful. Overall it felt like it lacked substance. I personally struggled with the written instructions—it didn’t seem to translate well. For instance many of the instructions indicated for the reader to close their eyes. This would occur early on in the step by step instructions and threw me off. I struggled to read through the instructions in totality and then follow along, which left me to halfass my way through the techniques.
Wie im Klappentext beschrieben kenne ich das bewusste Atmen vom Yoga und Meditationen. Also wollte ich mich etwas tiefer in diesem Thema einarbeiten und bin dabei über dieses Übungsbuch gestolpert. Neben den vielen Übungen, die man im Sitzen, liegen oder gar beim Laufen machen kann, gibt es auch Zeichnung, die einem die etwas schwierigen Parte erklären. Auch gibt es wunderbare Zitate und Erklärungen, auch die Auswirkung einer tiefen und bewussten Atmung. Die Übungen sind toll erklärt und lassen sich leicht umsetzten und es nicht gerade wenige. Ein paar habe ich schon gemacht und bin ein Fan des Feueratmens. Danach fühle ich mich voller Power und bin wirklich wach und motiviert. Deshalb werde ich diese jetzt viel öfters machen.
Simple and to the point, with great little mindful breathing exercises. I enjoyed that it didn't focus on just one style, but had movements from yoga or qi gong etc. It was relaxing just to read and be quiet with your breath. A great book even if you only have two minutes in your day to read
This book offers great suggestions to start breathing exercises and offers reasons behind why they can be beneficial. I did find that it was hard to complete the exercises while looking at the book, but that's par for the course when using a book for this sort of thing. I don't plan on trying every exercise, but was impressed with the range offered. I would recommend this book to anyone first starting their interest into breathing exercises.
This is a book that cannot be categorised into one single genre, it has become a very useful tool this year. The different breathing styles and mindfulness methods was just fascinating to read about. Granted, I didn't try every single one of them, but the experimenting to see which one helped me the most as a grounding technique was very insightful.
Birthday present from the family - they think I need to find inner peace and calm.... That would be easier if, when I sat down quietly to read this book, the 7YO wasn't howling and the 10YO wasn't raving with a whistle!! No chance of quiet time....

BORING!! Go to a yoga classes, learn the basics, change your class, try different instructors, after a couple of years, just listen to your body and do your thing, breathing in your own pace.
