I've said it before and I'll say it again, Leann Asher rocks a MC story! The fact that she can get a great MC story going and keep it as something I would read is great. I appreciate that not only is the current story free of all the cheating/ ow/om drama but she keeps them well behaved in other books.
HERO~ Smiley was awesome. Older, alpha silver fox. Yes, please. He, at almost 50 had never loved before. However, he wasn't a manwhore. Never saw him with another woman throughout the series and he was celibate for years prior to meeting the heroine. That is a hero in my eyes.
HEROINE~ Adeline broke my heart. She had been through the worst of the worst. It may cause triggers for some the extent of the torture she endured. The fact she came out on the other side as sweet as she was is a testament to her strength. She was so kind, loving and motherly. Not in your face alpha, kicking everyone ass (not an fan of that)
SEXUAL HISTORY~ Smiley had been married but she took off and he hadn't been with anyone. Adeline had been married and was tortured and pimped out by her dead ex.
OM/OW DRAMA ~ None!
STEAMThere was some steam but not a lot.
VIOLENCE club violence. Recollection of her previous torture/rape that was not excessively detailed.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS Loved seeing the whole gang. Again I will say I love that Leann does not have the secondary characters (future heroes and heroines) being skanky. I have stopped so many series because of their actions in previous books
SAFETY Safe - neither are with anyone else the minute they see each other
ENDING~ A fantastic epilogue! Leann knocks it out of the part with her epilogues! Definitely leaves me wanting the next book!

This author writes something rare, in my opinion...an MC series I adore. While I love the idea behind them, there are certain reasons (safety) I won't read the majority of them. I know I never have to worry about that with LeAnn.
Smiley is an older man, one of the original Grim Sinners, their former president actually, as the series title implies, and while he does have kids, those we've been introduced to in earlier books, he's never loved a woman before and in fact has been celibate for a long time. When he meets Adeline, courtesy of the Devil Souls, he knows his life is forever changed.
Adeline has suffered, and suffered even more on top of that. But instead of letting that change who she was at her core, she overcame it and maintained the sweetness that was an innate part of who she is. Though she survived, she can't help but wonder what her future holds...she just had no idea it would end up revolving around a man.
Both Smiley and Adeline have been married before, though they ended for different reasons. Smiley's wife abandoned him and their kids. Adeline's was literally tortured in hers, her husband deciding she had to do whatever, and whoever, he commanded. Adeline has missed so many years with her daughter, Alisha, who is now happy and in love with Techy. They're both trying to make up for lost time, but the past is still between them.
As Smiley and Adeline get to know one another, both instantly knowing they've found what they've always wanted, she begins to heal from what happened and they fall deeper in love every day. Smiley was the first book in the Grim Sinners MC originals series by LeAnn Ashers. It was an extension of the Grim Sinners MC and Devils Souls MC series and should be read after Wilder and Liam respectively.
Smiley was the retired President of the Grim Sinners MC, and the father to Lane (Grim Sinners, book one) and Shayla (Devils Souls, book three). He was known for being fierce and feared but he always smiled regardless of his words or actions, thus his name. The moment he spotted Adeline in the Devil’s Souls clubhouse he knew she was his.
Adeline was the mother to Alisha (Devil’s Souls, book two). Adeline had a terrible life where her former husband drugged her and kept her drugged for years, never coming down off the high until after he was killed. She found her daughter and was starting over but the demons still found her in her dreams.
In true Ashers form, it was totally insta-love alpha and over the top MC drama mixed in with a badass sweetness shown only to family. The MC bond and loyalty remained strong with fun bantering. As the relationship was building, Ashers simultaneously took us through an action filled MC plot that will continue as a common theme as each series progresses.
Although I’m not sure where Ashers will take us next, it was obvious there will be a story soon for Derek/Brittany, Travis/Bailey and a spin-off for the MC children. Where she leads, I can’t wait!

I loved this one! Smiley is just amazing. The only problem I had with this book is that it wasn't long enough. But there are more books to read.

This book was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! LeAnn Ashers is one of my go-to authors because all of her books are great. Smiley and Adeline's story was perfect. Smiley is a complete badass and was super sweet to Adeline. Adeline was a very strong heroine I liked her character a lot. I cannot wait for the next book. Fingers crossed that it will be TRAVIS's book!!!!!!!!!!!

Adeline was kicked out of her home at 18 with nowhere to go she moved in with a man who destroyed her, the only bright light in her life was her daughter who she tried to protect but failed as a mother. Forgiveness is a powerful thing though and Adeline has worked hard to do right by her daughter earning a place in her daughters husband MC as the MC's faux mom.
When Smiley arrives after an attempt to kidnap his granddaughter he meets Adeline and he is hooked. He sees something fragile about the woman and knows he needs to gain her trust before he can claim her as his. Will Adeline take a chance on happiness or live in fear?
This was wonderful. Loved Smiley he is gruff but so sweet with Adeline, he treats her as his Queen. I look forward to the next book and am thrilled to see this author has a new series I can look forward to.

II received this ARC for an honest review. It's due out on Oct. 4th. It's a great read and a great addition to the series. I do recommend reading the Devil Souls MC series and the other ones in this series first, or at least Techy, Butcher and Lane. I love Leann Ashers writing. Safety gang: There is talk of the h being raped, but it's not descriptive, but it's still hard to read. Great read.

I really don't know where to start with this review other than to say the minute Smiley looked up from his phone and into Adeline's eyes and said "You are having dinner with me tonight." I fell head over heels in love with him.
Warning-This story touches a lot on subjects such as abuse, rape, torture, prostitution, vengeance, pain suffering, and trauma all these things that happened in Adeline's past that lead her to have PTSD and nightmares.
Before reading this story you need to read the other stories in which Adeline was introduced to get the full background of the horrendous life she had lived prior to this book.
(Recommend reading Techy at least first)
I love a book like this all about second chances especially when you think that it is not possibility and that you're never going heal from your past but, it is possible when you have the love of a large mc family named the Devil Souls.
Most MCs do not co-habitat unless it's with their affiliate chapters but, Adeline's daughter is the old Lady of one of the Devil Souls members and Smiley's daughter is married to a member also so the MC family for Adeline is a combined one. That's one lucky Gal!
This time around it's hard to pick a favorite but, I have no choice but to pick Smiley hands down!
What made the choice for me to pick him was that Smiley at every turn surprised me not only with his deeds but, with his overwhelming protectiveness and kindness and love that he showed his woman as well as his children and grandchildren. I loved how patient and kind and gentle he could be but, he had a whole other dangerous side to him where he put fear in god in most people.
Omg! Just thinking about the pain, suffering, and torture Adeline endured her entire life broke my heart each and every time her past was brought up. She became a woman to be admired for her strength kindness and courage and determination to survive the horrors she endured and still walk away with a mind intact, this alone was a milestone in her recovery of taking her own life back.
I loved the nicknames they had for Adeline but, most of all I loved how the entire club of children called her Gigi and they all loved her as much as she did them.
I loved the romance between Smiley and Adeline and how it slowly developed just by Smiley giving her experiences she had never thought she would have and making some of the little things she wanted to enjoy out of life come true we watched a small miracle of this woman being re-born. I loved being on her journey of healing and finding herself once again. A character that you could not help but love as she was nothing but goodness personified.
For me, the most heartbreaking moment and a turning point in the story for me was the moment Adeline aka Gigi stepped out on that beach with all those children in a two-piece bathing suit. These children all saw her as their grandmother and vice versa but, for me, I saw a moment in time that Adeline had finally let go of her past once and for all.
All in all, we loved the story from cover to cover.I loved the little miracles that occurred throughout the story as well as god interventions and his little gifts as some would say this just made the story more endearing and more lovable.
P.S. My final thoughts would be I would want a guy like Smiley to have my back each and every time. Adeline was full of so much kindness and goodness that she not only had Smiley at her back but each and every member of both The Devil Souls and The Grim Sinners...

Too ridiculous! Awful action scenes! Too sickly sweet with the romance!
I thought I'd enjoy this, finally a book with the older mature biker of fifty goes for the older mature woman of forty and not a child bride of eighteen, like the last couple of biker books I've read but this story is just ridiculous! Their romance is way too sickly sweet and the story is too over the top with all the unbelievable happenings. Like all the constant attacks on her and that ridiculous Batman style military gear, with hidden bikes tucked inside their bullet proof trucks etc. That entire scene at 85% was so Awful! Even all the heroines altruistic nature was too much with stranger's bursting in to tears telling her their lifes woe's and her whisking them off to safety on a private plane!!! Nope! Not good!!!
The writing is very mechamical and robotic, lots of actions strung together of I did this, then I did that, then I packed this and then I walked there etc. Also with the characters speaking unnaturally. In one conversation it says, "I am locking the house down. I am on my way home right now". Instead of I'm going to, or I'm gonna go. What's with the characters laughing so hard they bend over holding their stomachs! Really? That does happen in real life! Then all the guys knees buckling when they see 'the girl' they want for the first time! Or stumbling or nearly falling on their asses because they see ' that one girl' for the first time. Terrible! Just awful stuff!!! A lot of details are missing in the writing that would really have help the reader visualise the scene and the characters better. The formatting had issues with the font size going really small throughout. They shouldn't have missed something like that in editing. There's some problems with the grammar and misplaced and missing punctuation. there are times when it repeats things in the space of a sentence or two.
I'm not even going to go in to detail about the ludicrous ridiculous high secruity of this MC apparently they must be richer than Ironman with the fortified compound filled with houses on large areas of land and every house has electrified fences and gates and bullet proof shutters on widows etc and then they have an extra huge house away from the compound. They also have all that outlandish Batman style gear with hidden bikes inside the bulletproof trucks at 85%! No! Just no! Awful! Terrible! Completely Terrible! Not only was that attack scene ridiculous with all that and how they took out the enemy on this bikes and but also her empathy thoughts were OTT again and the mother comment again that no one hurts my babies! Grrr... annoying! Just awful scene start to finish! But even before this scene I was only going to give this 2 stars because this is not a good good and the writing isnt god either but scene and all the fancy exensive tech gear lowered it to 1 star. So did Randall claiming he was a piece of shit after smiley made him watch the videos of Are. I meqn seriously I'm stunned that none of the reviews for this book mentioned how crap and cheesy this book is. I tried to stick with it but I just can't it's truly terrible!

Smiley is a retired president for the Grim Sinners MC. Even though he's not the president anymore, he's never left the club. Walking into the Devil's Souls MC one day, he's stopped in his tracks when he sees Adeline. He's determined to have a date with her. She's all he's ever wanted, and he'll do anything to win her over.
Adeline has had one hell of a life. With a family who didn't want her, and the only man who was interested in her becoming abusive and making her do unspeakable things, she never thought she'd get the chance to be loved. Now all she wants is to find the kind of love and happiness that her daughter has found. When she sees Smiley for the first time, her heart jumps into her throat, especially when he tells her he's taking her out on a date. Can she truly be getting the chance at the one thing she's always wanted?
I was so happy to read Smiley and Adeline's story for so many reasons. It was nice to see the story told of someone who wasn't officially part of the MC anymore, an older member. Smiley dedicated his life to his son and daughter, and with them grown, it was time for him to find his happy. He was an amazingly sweet man, patient and kind to Adeline. Of course he had his super protective side and wasn't about to let anything happen to her and avenging her from her past.
Adeline held so much guilt and pain over her past and her daughter. She couldn't have been happier that she found the happiness she deserved, the kind she now craves. This woman was probably the strongest I've read in a while. The love she had for all the children at the MC, and her own daughter made me root for her to find a way to have her own.
I have to say that so far, this is my favorite book in the series. While you can read it as a standalone, I think it's beneficial to read the series in order. I encourage anyone to pick this series up and dive in. You'll be happy you did. This book kept me entranced right through the end and made me want to go back and read it again. Job well done!

I was so happy to read Smiley and Adeline's story for so many reasons. It was nice to see the story told of someone who wasn't officially part of the MC anymore, an older member. Smiley dedicated his life to his son and daughter, and with them grown, it was time for him to find his happy. He was an amazingly sweet man, patient and kind to Adeline. Of course he had his super protective side and wasn't about to let anything happen to her and avenging her from her past.

Another one bites the dust! I was really looking forward to reading this one as I love a hot silver fox! Something about the maturity and experience is just very attractive to me. The thrills and action was mostly just at the end. Loved seeing the other MC members again, they are starting to feel like family after reading this many of their books in a row 😅

Smiley is a emotional rolercoaster. The love that he gives to Adeline is the most perfect love. Love that heals. Adeline is such a strong, but wounded warrior and to see her transform under his love is beautiful. I can not wait for more from LeAnn!. If you have never read LeAnn's books, I highly recommend!

I was so excited to start this book! Smiley and Adeline are both characters that were introduced to is in previous books. Smiley is the father of Lane and Shalyn, as well as the retired president of the Grim Sinners MC. Adeline is the mother of Alicia, who is Techy's wife, from the Devil's Souls MC. We were given bits and pieces of Adeline's story in Alicia and Techy's book, and I knew it was bad, but I could never have imagined how bad!
Adeline has got to be one of the strongest characters I've come across in a story in a very long time. The sheer horror that she lived through, the strength that she had to have to not only live through it, but to come out stronger on the other side is nothing short of amazing. And this was all before the story really started! Her absolute joy in the simplest of things brought a smile to my face. We knew from the other books that she and Smiley ended up together, but their story is so much more! Smiley has his own past, one that we really didn't get much of from the other books. But his personality really stood out, even as a peripheral character.
This story filled in a lot of holes that were left from Alicia and Techy's story (not that that one felt incomplete, but this one answered questions I didn't even know I should have asked!) As with the other stories, there was plenty of action, lots of surprises, and enough heat to set a house on fire! While this book could probably be read as a stand alone, there is an ongoing connection between the other series written by this author, and they are best read in order. I'm so glad Adeline finally got her HEA, it is one that she definitely deserved!

Wow I really loved Smiley it drew me in from the first page and didn't let go till the very end , this can be read as a standalone characters from past books are mentioned . The heroine is the mother of Alisha her man is Techy and their story is the second book in the Devils souls series , the hero is the father of lane his book is number one in the Grim sinners Mc and also Smileys daughters story is her romance with Butcher and that's book three in the Devils souls series . So if this is the first one that you have read by LeAnn Ashers then you really need to check out her other books you definitely don't want to miss out . I loved the story line the connection between the couple was super intense liked the way they were with one another , Smiley was swoon worthy adored every thing about him and Adeline is such beautiful person her kind soul just drew me in no wonder every one loved her .

Smiley oh Smiley..... he is the man. All bad a$$ when he needs to be and all loving when he needs to be. Smiley meets Adeline when he goes to see his daughter at the club house. As soon as he see Adeline he almost falls on his a$$ because he is so taken by her. He continues to stare at her and then says we are going on a date tomorrow and Adeline is floored because she never thought she would date let alone go on a date with the hottest man she has ever seen.
Adeline is nervous about her first date with Smiley because she has a lot of baggage that comes with her and scars she wants no one to see. But one their first date Adeline knows she is in trouble because Smiley is such a gentleman to her. She is smitten with him and they decide to go on another date the next day. On there second date out the have such a great time that they spend the night together. In the morning when Smiley brings Adeline back to her apartment when she goes to unlock her door she realizes it is open and she gets scared and Smiley puts her behind him and goes to check out what happened to her apartment.
Once the apartment is checked out Smiley decides that Adeline is not staying there until they find out what happened. That is when Adeline tells Smiley about her horrible past and Smiley vows to protect her from those who intend on harming her. This is where the story takes off and Smiley and Adeline will go through some things and Smiley will do anything to protect Adeline. But can he save her from her past? Or will the past come back to kill her? This story was so fast paced and so true to a bikers life I could not put the book down. I needed more when it ended because I could not get enough of these two and especially Smiley. Lord Smiley is a man I need in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been wondering about how to start this new review. I mean, I know what I want to say but I don't want to sound repetitive.
I've been reading non stop these couple of years and each book as been better than the last one. Dayum...
I'm an MC fan, everybody knows that and the more I read, the more I want. I'm addicted.
LeAnn Ashers has been a constant in my reading life and let's just say that I can't get enough. Each book made me see things and feel things... Oh boy. Her writing is intense, wild, hot and breathtaking. Each scene will hook you up.
Smiley is her latest release and tells the stories of Adeline and Smiley.
Adeline had suffered horrors but that made her a strongest person. She never thought of love for a while until...
Smiley isn't new into the MC world since he's the former President from the Grim Sinners MC. He's been alone for a while now but that didn't made him a manwhore.
We had glimpses from these two from previous books and it was amazing to have a book for them.

The plot is magnificent, very well written, super engaging and intense.
We had the answers we were looking for. It was fantastic to be able to fill the blanks.
It was a joy to read this book and once I started it I couldn't put it down.

Adeline has had a really rough life up until she was saved by Techy and his band of MC brothers. She is victim of life's circumstances, fate and evil men. Now she has the chance at a better life and has taken it . She's happy and content, reunited with her daughter and settled in her new life, loved as Gigi yet feeling somewhat unsettled.
Smiley is the retired President of the Grim Sinners MC. He sees/meets Adeline at the Devil Souls clubhouse and immediately it's love at 1st sight for him. Smiley is my new book boyfriend.
The man gave me the feels in all the right places . When that man loves, he loves with everything he has. But when someone tries to hurt one of his own he will drag them to the pits of hell that even satan himself would sit up and then run for cover.
Adeline was traumatized beyond imagination. She went through hell at the hands of a man who was evil personified the atrocious things he and others did to her are unimaginable yet they happened everyday of her adult life. Suffering from PTSD she put one foot in front of the other and tried to hide the demons that would come out to play everytime she closed her eyes to sleep at night.
But smiley took one look at Ade and he lost his heart in an instant. He gave Ade everything she wanted and then some, chipping away the ice she had built around her heart one crack at a time to where he finally owned her heart, her mind ,her body and soul.
When danger comes knocking smiley does what he does best and eliminated everyone who did Adeline wrong. She was finally free of her demons and she owed it all to the love of her life SMILEY.
I wish i could give this story more then five stars its worth more then that and LeAnn Ashers thank you for giving Adeline a happily ever after. You have done your reader's proud and i for one look forward to reading more of your work.

I've been waiting for Smiley and Adeline's story since reading Butcher and Shaylin's story that I've been jumping up and down since the author, LeAnn Ashers announced that she was going to release Smiley!
When I started to read this, I had an inkling of who was who but I never imagined the rush of emotions I would feel when reading Adeline's point of view. I felt so much! I felt her despair and her sorrow of losing so many years with her daughter, Alisha, who's Techy's aka Jordan's woman and the abuse she suffered of the hands of Alisha's father and then after he got her high on drugs. The recuperation for her was long and still going, especially the mental one but she still had a positive and optimistic outlook out of live and that's what drew Smiley to her, her inner light and this was before he even knew her true story and what's she's been through but when he found out, let's just say, Adeline was avenged, her demons slaughtered and vanquished and living happily ever after with her man, Smiley and quite a few happy and unexpected surprises along the way too :) <3
This author has a way with words and how to express her emotions towards her audience and I've always felt that with each of her books and I can't wait for more from her, especially hoping Derek with his MC princess's story would be next! Fingers crossed!! ;)

This is a book all the fans of this author have been dying to read and it is beautiful absolutely beautiful, I loved every minute of this book. This is an emotionally charged book that sucks you into their world and you fall in love with all the MC members, their women and Children. This author has written a book that you can immerse yourself in and get emotionally involved. There is laughter, love, tears and everything you expect to get from this author. This author has excelled herself yet again.
Smiley is everything you want and more, he fights for his friends and family and he loves them soul deep and hard. Adeline is a beautiful soul that will break your heart and warm your soul, she deserves nothing but the happiness Smiley and their families can bring her. Tissues are a requirement (I used them). I love how all the Charecters interact with each other and are just like one big family.
I would recommend this book and author to anyone who loves getting immersed in an amazing book and epic love between beautiful souls and amazing family. They may not all be blood but they are family. Every time I pick up a book by LeAnn Ashers I know I’m in for a treat! Smiley is no exception. Actually Smiley may be the best one yet! As always this book is filled with the sexy alpha bikers we all love along with their tough as nails sassy women but there were some new twists and turns I did not see coming that took Smiley from just awesome to HOLY COW AMAZING!
First of all, evvvvverybody is going to be fight over Smiley as their newest book boyfriend. He shows you exactly where those younger bikers learned from by being the king of all things swoon. The absolute definition of alpha male, he’s fiercely protective of his woman taking it to a whole new level. Along with being so. freaking. sweet. and not to mention hot AF. I already knew I liked him from previous books, but errrmagerd! I did not know I’d love the man this much!
I *almost* loved Adeline even more than Smiley. After all she’s been through and is still overcoming she has the most beautiful heart of any character I’ve ever read. Endlessly loving and the epitome of a mother figure to everyone around her. She constantly has open arms for all her babies and more love to give than anyone else I’ve ever known. She truly deserves a man as wonderful as Smiley and these two together are what HEA dreams are made of!

I was so excited to see this book pop up on my kindle, and lets just say, Leann did not disappoint with this book. This was the first book in the Grim Sinners Original MC and I cannot wait for more of these alpha Men.

I am sooooo mixed when trying to rate this story.
On one hand the writing is not good...it's choppy, scattered, repetative, and even juvenile at points. Everything that in any other book would make it difficult for me to finish the book.
On the other hand I totally fell in love with Smiley and Adeline. Everything about them made me continue flipping the pages. She lived through hell and came out shining.

Wonderfully sweet read. This is an epic love story. Smiley takes such good care of his woman. He is super protective and so loving, patient and kind. Adeline struggles with her past and Smiley is just the man to take away her pain. If you haven't read LeAnn Asher you are really missing out. I was blessed enough to receive and ARC for an honest review.

I can't resist a sexy alpha silver fox. Smiley is one that I would love to belong to. He is not only a sexy alpha male, he is the sweetest protector for Adeline. Their love story is one that squeezes your heart , and captures it with the love that is given. To see a woman overcome her painful past, and build a new life and family makes for an awesome read.
