As a capstone romance, I am just sort of meh about this, but as a series conclusion I think it works! As a historical artifact, I think this series is absolutely fascinating in its culturally specificity and the reality of the small town it portrays, when so often romance small towns are fictional idylls of cupcake shops and spas. (Which as a fantasy, I get!!) The ambition of this is really something and I'd love to see a set of contemporary authors take on this kind of challenge with an extensive series bible, as opposed to the interconnected in series name only version of this we tend to get today.

What a disappointing ending to the series! Judson's trial is over, but we still don't know who killed Margaret. Luckily, the guy just shows up in town with a slightly different name. Seriously, this was see-able a million miles away. Also, I was looking forward to the culmination of Alyssa's romance with Edward, but that's been building for about 8 books now, all that was left was to admit they loved each other. Unfortunately, Ingalls F & M is failing, and instead of saving the business Edward decides to take it over. That goes over well. But, Alyssa gets over it and they're totally in love. The End.

The final book in the Welcome to Tyler series. This book brings it all together. We find out what happened that night 40 years ago. We find out how she came to be buried by the lake. We find out EVERYTHING.

These books technically can be read as standalones, but you wouldn't be able to follow the background story - the murder of Margaret Ingalls. The romances in present time are the main story, but you'd always be wondering.

Edward has been back in town for some time now, but he and Alyssa just didn't seem to be able to click. With the revelations in this book, everything falls into place.

These books are easy reads. It's not that I read slow, it's just I read when I have time.

I enjoyed this. It was a pretty good wrapup to this series. It was a second chance romance and the love interests were middle aged. The mystery that has been ongoing since the first book in the series was solved, but the outcome was not completely satisfactory in my opinion. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed the series overall and am glad to have completed reading it.

Very soapy .. are all continuities like that ?
BEST book covers of a series .. with all the quilts .. imagine they sold lots of these books.
Alyssa is main figure (and Edward).
Mystery of Margaret’s death is solved.
Nice wrap-up epilogue.

One of the better stories of the series but still very dated. At least I found out who killed Margaret which really was not that difficult once the character was introduced. Glad that is finished and I can get rid of the books.

I tried so hard to like this book. I put it down, I picked it back up, ad infinum. By the time I got halfway through the book, I was bored out of my mind. You know a book just isn’t speaking to you when you get two chapters from the end and almost can’t force yourself to read the last two chapters… the part of the book that’s supposed to be the “happy ending”.

Don’t get me wrong, the writing itself wasn’t bad. The narrative was clean, easy to read, and wasn’t bogged down with an over-abundance of drama or stupid character mistakes… but the storyline just wasn’t for me. The main characters were much older than I’m used to dealing with as a romantic interest—grandparents. As someone in my early thirties. I had trouble identifying with them. Unfortunately, the mystery of Alyssa’s mother’s death just never drew me in. So much time had passed between her death and the story that I couldn’t help but wonder why it mattered at that point. Life had moved on for the characters—an entire lifetime for the main character—and it seemed inconsequential in the end.

The romance itself seemed lukewarm. Sure… Alyssa and Edward loved each other once upon a time, and those feelings were still in play decades later… but it didn’t feel like there was any real passion behind their romance. I didn’t feel as much draw (read: sexual tension) between the two as I’d come to expect from a romance. It made it hard to invest into their relationship, and frankly, the business aspect of their relationship just didn’t interest me.

In all honesty, the entire book felt lukewarm. I don’t know if it’s because my inability to identify with the older characters, the absurd amount of time between the mother’s death and the current setting, or the lack of sexual tension, but I just couldn’t bring myself to care about the story. I was bored. By the time I reached the end of the book I couldn’t bring myself to care what happened to the characters. I’m not saying that the book was badly written… but I wasn’t the appropriate audience for it. The book just wasn’t for me. Overall? Decent book, probably, but I didn’t like it. I think other readers could enjoy this book, particularly of an older age than I am, but this one won’t be going on my keeper shelf.

This final installment of the Welcome to Tyler series wraps up the mystery and love stories nicely. The author did a nice job of moving the book along without rushing the romance to a break neck speed that seems impossible. It was a sweet love story that reunites two high school sweethearts.

The ending is here, and a disappointment it was. After being acquitted of murder in the previous book, Judson has no desire to find out the truth. The actual murderer returns to Tyler and the family lets him get off scott free instead of turning him in. A very predictable ending.

I did not care for this book. The leading lady was a weak person. Did not get into the story at all. Took a long time to finish.
