The entire Vampire world is now aware that the Sirens are back. The ages ago attempt by the Vampires to wipe them out failed, and the Sirens have returned in force. The Sirens plans for revenge went awry when they inserted Adrian, and by extension, Helen and Jessica into their plans. An out-of-cycle Vampire Conclave has been called to discuss the Sirens, and the new things that Adrian has brought to light about them. It will be the largest Conclave in recent memory and attended by Vampires from the world over. While the Conclave is about what Adrian has done in many ways, this does not mean that Adrian has fans all across Vampiredom. He is still a male Vampire, and many are afraid of him, and for all the old reasons. As Siren Liaison, he is suddenly the most powerful male Vampire since the fabled King, and he is not trusted by many. When the Conclave is shattered by new threats, Helen, Jessica, Adrian, Rachel, and their human friend, Private Investigator Morgan Olsen have to deal with it head on or have everything they have worked for turn into the Armageddon they fear. The end of the Vampire species.
In 2000, there was a house rule for a while, and every Thursday even, CJ was locked away from the kids and cats and wrote 'Lonely Dancer'. Then did nothing with it. Novel complete, back to life. Cats and kids do not understand writer isolation one tiny bit.
In 2010 the idea came to create Vampires that could exist. Not that were likely to exist, but that at least followed the rules of natures and physics. Reading many Genre romances to calibrate what those stories were about and building the rules to the Hypernatural world, 'Naked Came the Vampire' was written, followed by' Siren Song', 'Conclave', and 'Purity' in rapid succession. The first drafts were put away and another story about a superhero was written along the same lines: trying to come up with a way that a superhero could violate all the laws of physics, as they do. Not counting Batman. Mostly.
Then IT called with a five year, 70 hour a week project and all writing ceased.
That project over led to dusting off the Hypernaturals and getting them out there. Because what Science Fiction geek doesn't like a good Vampire Romance?
That led to pulling out Lonely Dancer, which went out the door after editing, and garnered the first five star review. Encouraged, next came 'The Law of Unintended Consequences' set a few months after the events of 'Lonely Dancer'
I am a Straight Ally and that also influences the topics in the worlds of CJ
This is book 3 of the Hypernaturals, and it the third book I wrote in 2010 in this series. Why three books came out in 2018 near each other: They were already written, more or less.
Conclave is what Vampires do. The get together to talk. They have no written records, so this is where all the communication is done. This conclave is an emergency Conclave, as the Vampire need to get together and talk about the Sirens.
No Vampire Conclave can occur without a hot tub party however, and this is Adrian's first Conclave, so he is not ready for much of anything that happens. He has secret to keep from the Vampires though, so he is also not totally sanguine about needing to go.
Like so many things in his life, he has no choice.
