He text dumped me, now I have to pretend to be in love with him or lose my job

I never thought I’d see Jacob again after he texted those seven I’m leaving, we can’t be together anymore.
I’ve spent the last two years staring at that message, hearing his gravelly voice loud and clear in my head as I read the words over and over.
We were supposed to be forever, instead he’s forever frozen my heart.
It’s been rough but at least my career is going great.
Or at least it was until I accidentally posted a vibrator video to my company’s Instagram account.
They failed to see the funny side.
Now I have one shot to smooth things over with my boss - pretend to be in a relationship with a stranger for the weekend to impress a potential new client.
Except it turns out it isn’t a stranger after all, it’s Jacob.

***no cliffhangers, no cheating, and guaranteed happily-ever-afters.***

DNF

Dunno... Beginning was all over the place. I also dislike then the cover models look nothing like the characters described. She is a blond bombshell with "pageant curls".

maybe i will get back to it?

"What can I say? You bring out the husband in me."

Let me start by saying I totally loved it. I haven't read any other books by Lulu Pratt but I'll be reading them soon for sure.

There weren't any incidents which might be of surprise but pleasant all the same. Though there was this one time were I was like "oh shit" 😂.

Sierra was the head of marketing at Pillers, a construction company. She recently made some very minor mistake and is now trying her best to prove herself and not to loose her job.

Jacob owns Got Wood Inc and also works for Pillers. He was sooo sweet. I know that's not something to use for male prataganist but that's true.

"Don’t get mad,” I told her, before swiftly scooping Sierra into my arms, her feet leaving the ground and sailing into the air. Her arms intertwined, as though by instinct, around my neck.

See what I mean.😂

Since they haven't talked to each other for 2 years AND there job is based out of different cities they didn't know both worked for same company. Until now that is, when they come face to face for a big project (that encounter was awesome 😆).

In playing fake couple their true feelings start to surface (not that they actually went away in the first place).

And that's where I love Sierra. She didn't fight it and made too much fuss but gave him the second chance. That's very rare to see in a second chance plots. Both characters were built perfectly.

"When and where did you have your first kiss?”

She blushed, but obliged him by writing something down.

I answered before Charles could call on me. “Summer night, in a park, after a long day’s picnic."

Making up can be so...tearful

Sweetly romantic, sizzling heat, sometimes funny and a little painful but always the making up is utterly beautiful. A lovely read of two lovers Sierra and Jacob 2yrs separated, one wondering what went wrong and the other thinking he didn't deserve her. They're set up by the company they're employed by to fake a relationship. Read the fun, laughter, sexual exploits, their past frolics. Read how lies can destroy too and the truth can repair.

GOD BLESS SECOND CHANCES

As humans, we are in constant need of second chances, and blessed are those who recognize the opportunity of a second chance and for those wise enough and open enough to accept them. Life is not without angst, but that only makes the Happily Ever After all that much better.

Want You Back

This book was a good read. Sierra worked for a company that was trying to get a big contract and she was the marketing person. When the time came to go meet the client her boss asked her to go. The only problem was they asked her to bring her boyfriend. She wasn't dating anyone and her boss knew this. He suggested that he would find someone for her for the weekend and they could pretend to boyfriend and girlfriend for the weekend. Little did she know that her ex would be that so called pretend boyfriend. What happened when she got there and found her ex was the boyfriend for the weekend? Was she able to go through the whole weekend with him or would things explode and they lose the client?

Want You Back by Lulu Pratt Want You Back By: Lulu Pratt
He's Compelled BY This Thought... "Want You Back!," But, Can He Make It Happen!!
He's made the BIGGEST mistake of his life...
Since then, he's regretted it, lamented it, & Wished with Everything in his Heart for a DO OVER...
Why... Because, frequently, he quite simply thinks I "Want You Back!"
He knows she was the one & he'll NEVER find another!
Then, an opportunity arises for a Second Chance...
The mantra, "Want You Back," is like a drum beating through his veins... the Echo is URGING him ON~ "Want You Back," "Want You Back," "Want You Back,""Want You Back!"
Unfortunately, he's an IDIOT, & Screws UP his Second Chance, BREAKING not only HER HEART but HIS OWN as well!!!
Now, he's not just dealing with an Echo, NO... there's outright Screaming, Shouting, & BULLHORN BLASTING that Refrain... "Want You Back," "Want You Back,""WANT. YOU. Back!!"
When You've Screwed UP Not once BUT Twice, can you DARE to ask for another CHANCE or Even DREAM of one!!
I was granted an ARC of Lulu Pratt's "Want You Back," I happily recommend this book to others based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given!
Until next time... Happy Reading!

Sierra has been trying to repair her work reputation since she made a mistake on their Instagram page. When her boss' want to talk to her she worries its the worst thing like being fired. However when they start talking about an upcoming presentation the other thing factoring her is her lack of a male companion. To show this new business guy that they are family oriented they want to show a united front so they want to set Sierra up with a fake date. Sierra will agree to anything as long as she isn't fired. What she never counted on was the man she's being set up with is her ex that broke up with her via text message. Jacob never forgot Sierra and always regretted ending things but he didn't see a way to fix his mistake so he tried to move on. He wasn't interested in dating or hooking up so he focused on saving his family's construction company. When he showed up for the business weekend no one was more shocked by who he was set up with than himself. He convinces Sierra to a truce just for the weekend but no one could've predicted how much game playing the guy they were trying to win would be into. Can Jacob and Sierra survive a weekend together? Will their feelings tempt them into giving it another chance?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Jacob and Sierra is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this to any book lover.

Want You Back is the latest release from Ms. Lulu Pratt and having been a fan of hers for years, I truly appreciated the unique spin on Sierra's broken heart. Jacob broke up with her years prior through text! I have not read a book with this being the case prior and I really enjoyed this one. Realism in spades because you can envision this happening. Now, Sierra has a new problem after making a huge mistake at work and there's only one clear way to try to fix it. Unbelievably, her plan involves Jacob... How did this happen? Can she go through with it? Will she get the closure she needs or will they continue on together as a couple? All of these questions will be answered as you read her latest publication. I couldn't devour it fast enough and I am positive you are going to love it too.

I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Want You Back in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend reading this book or anything crafted by Ms. Pratt, she is one of my favorites for so many reasons and if you've never had the pleasure to read her work, why not start here and see for yourself just how talented she is.

LULU NOT ONLY NAILED IT, SHE BROKE THE MOLD!!!
OMG! Wow! I love it, love it, love it. This is one electrifying, nerve racking, emotionally charged, pulse racing, page turning bombshell of a read you can sink your teeth into. All the ups and downs, twists and turns, false starts and heart breaks just to name a few of the triumphants they sealed. This is an exciting adventure with a strong storyline that flows with a realism that's easy to see each scenario as it plays out. The characters and their personalities are so realistic and believable they draw you in and you feel like apart of the storyline instead of an outsider. The scenes are descriptive and detailed it really adds all the spice that brings this little jewel together. The main characters chemistry was white hot, off the charts, explosive so much so your could feel it flow through the pages. Lulu did an excellentjob bringing this read to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Lulu, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Author, Lulu Pratt has written a great second chance romance. Sierra and Jacob have moved on not having seen each other for a few years when they have been thrown together unexpectedly. They are surprised they have the same boss over a weekend presentation while pretending to be a couple. Well things don't go as planned and once again people's lives are negatively impacted. Is redemption possible?
I like this story so am recommending this book. The author has such a great writing skill and it shines through here. Her characters are always well developed and fun to follow along. A must read for your evening diversion I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book.

Sierra is expecting to lose her job after a instagram mistake so when her boss tells her they need to present a family front for the company and they are setting her up with a fake date she is just happy she isn't losing her job. Imagine her horror when the fake date turns out to be Jacob the man that broke up with her by text. Jacob knew he had made a mistake breaking up with Sierra and has been a manwhore ever since now he has a chance with her again but will she give him that chance when he broke her heart the last time . Will this be a final closure for Sierra or will she give him a chance and will they get a HEA you will need to read to see

I’ll admit, there was a split second while reading the blurb on this book that my mind said “a break up by text couldn’t happen”. Then reality hit and I knew that was wrong. I Want You Back plays into that narrative well and though it was a db move, and I’m not saying it’s ok to do it, there is an explanation. Jacob and Sierra have amazing chemistry and their unexpected journey together is a catalyst for an exciting experience. I would recommend this book to those who love second chances, drama, passion and even comedy. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.

This story is both heartbreaking and romantic. The second chance these two deserved gets blown up and third chances are hard to come by. The love between them is undeniable from the beginning, but the hurt their breakup caused is hard to get over...even if he did have a decent reason. I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

This is a great second chance romance. Jacob and Sierra dated, but he dumped her by text! She is getting herself back on track when she make the mistake of posting something to her companies Instagram page. Now she is scrambling to salvage her career and on top of that her new client is her ex! No spoilers, just a great story with a HEA!!

I really liked this second chance romance. Sierra is trying to do some damage control at work and praying she doesn’t get fired. Can she survive pretending to be on a fake date with the man who broke her heart? Jacob knew he made a mistake breaking up with Sierra, will he be able to win her back? This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama and steamy chemistry. A good read.

This is a cool story! Throughout the chapters, the hero & heroine speak to the reader directly, like they're letting you into their thoughts & secrets only for you.

A great love story between Sierra & Jacob that will last forever in their hearts & in our minds. I would recommend this book for reading.

Sierra's boss ask her to go for a weekend meeting with a client, but she needs a boyfriend for that and her boss has a person in mind for her. When she meets him, she is pissed, she has to pretend she is in love with person who broke her heart. Does she give Jacob second chance?

Lulu is really good at capturing the reader. This book I'm a little indifferent with. I did enjoy reading it and I liked the characters and story, but there was something missing for me with this one. Still worth reading though.

A good second chance romance where Jack realizes what a mistake he made by dumping Sierra by text. Can she pretend he's her boyfriend for work when he's hurt her so badly? Well written and enjoyable.

This book couldn’t finish fast enough.

Let me clarify, the author did a good job of making this story humorous in a few parts and it was fleshed out in a clearly thought out way. But the storyline itself was just a bad one.

The male lead was unlikeable. He was immature and careless of others feelings. I also didn’t feel he was a growing character even at the end. The female lead made poor choices multiple times IMO. That made her a dingbat with no impulse control.

While this book did a good HEA, it was still just a stupid storyline that I couldn’t get passed.

2.75*. Started out well enough for a book with a dodgy plot line, and then it got quite good to be fair. Then the last 52% of the book happened - silly plot, eye-rolling moments more often than not, and it just started to annoy me to be honest. Not an awful book, but not an incredible one either.

KU*

I really wanted to love this book but it fell a little flat for me. Sierra came off a little self involved and Jacob seemed to be weak. There were parts of the story I skimmed over because either the information was repetitive or a long description of the scenery or clothing. I think my major issue was that Jacob seemed so meek and cowardly that I couldn’t really enjoy his character. Sierra in my opinion was all over the place, she went from being a super detail oriented employee who follows the rules to engaging in sex in the client’s home in a public area.

I guess I was expecting more from this second chance romance; Jacob should have been more assertive and Sierra less self righteous. I just didn’t connect with any of the characters and I couldn’t get into the back and forth between Sierra and Jacob. Basically it was like they knew how to handle the sex stuff but needed other people to tell them how to function as adults in a relationship. Also not a fan of instant forgiveness when the person keeps making the same mistake repeatedly.

Second Chances

Sierra and Jacob have a history together. Sierra thought it was a forever thing, but Jacob left her heartbroken when he decided to quit the relationship for no apparent reason. Jacob never told her the truth behind his action, and he’s regretted it all this time. For two years, Jacob has never forgotten her.

Sierra works as head of Marketing and PR with a construction company. She agrees to pair up with a fake boyfriend for the meeting of an important client who believes wholeheartedly about family values for the company building his retirement village. Both Sierra and Jacob are surprised when they meet, but don’t reveal they know each other. Jacob works for the company but in another city.

Could this be a second chance for them? Though Sierra feels betrayed she still has feelings for Jacob. They can’t deny the attraction and pull, and soon things get pretty steamy. Want You Back is pretty entertaining and ends in a sigh-worthy resolution. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
