Keto Fat Bombs, Sweets & Treats: Over 100 Recipes and Ideas for Low-Carb Breads, Cakes, Cookies and More – High-Fat Ketogenic Desserts for Quick Weight Loss
From the bestselling author of The Keto Instant Pot Cookbook, Indian Instant Pot Cookbook, and Instant Pot Fast & Easy
Delicious low-carb desserts, baked goods, and other treats for people following the incredibly popular keto diet The ketogenic diet has taken America by storm, and bestselling author Urvashi Pitre can attest to its effectiveness firsthand. Following this high-fat, low-carb way of eating helped her lose (and keep off) 80 pounds. Best known for the high-quality and impeccably tested recipes on her blog, TwoSleevers.com, Urvashi here turns her expertise to the snacks and treats that people miss most when they're eating the keto way—quick breads, muffins, pancakes, cookies, cakes, pies, ice cream, and more. Urvashi offers recipes for many classic, high-carb favorites that have been reworked to be “fat bombs,” which help keep your macros in balance, as well as prevent you from craving all the things you usually can’t eat when you're trying to lose weight. Many of the more than 100 recipes require no more than 10 to 15 minutes of prep time, and they taste as delicious and indulgent as they sound—how about Chocolate Peanut Butter Pops, Mocha Cheesecake, or Almond Butter Bombs? She also includes recipes for tasty smoothies, savory dressings, and sauces to round out the collection.
Author Urvashi Pitre writes so winsomely that I sometimes forgot that what I was reading was a cookbook, not a memoir. She’s someone I really wish I knew in real life. Pitre gives readers the most accessible explanation of keto dieting that I’ve ever seen, and she reassures her followers — both in this book and on her blog — about setbacks and plateaus.
Pitre’s cookbook is as billed: yummy desserts and snacks of all descriptions that fit within a ketogenic diet. As a further plus, she doesn’t include the usual raft of weird and difficult-to-find ingredients that so often characterize keto cooking. Guar gum, almond flour and coconut flour are as weird as it gets. Good news! I devoured — pardon the pun — this slender cookbook in one sitting, and I plan to use plenty of the recipes this summer.
I saw this on the shelf and grabbed it, since Keto-friendly eating is cane sugar -free, which is one of the things I need.
The first section on basics of the Keto diet seems easy to understand but gives a good understanding. Someone thinking about this diet would probably need to consult other sources, but the author includes three title suggestions in the text to start.
I was unfortunately not able to try any of these recipes-- they are all sugar- and gluten-free, but they also rely heavily on high-fat dairy (sour cream, whipping cream) which I also can't really tolerate right now. A few use coconut milk or coconut oil instead, but just for kicks, that makes my asthma take off and I'm really worried about encroaching into anaphylaxis territory.
Even though I couldn't try any of them, these recipes look great-- very simple, most have only a few ingredients, and easy to make. Recommended for regular readers/eaters, too, simply because these recipes all look delicious and easy-peasy. I will definitely check this out again if I can add more dairy back into my diet.
I am in love with this cook book! One of my favorite people to follow and learn recipe techniques from. The book has so much more than recipes. Information for the Keto diet, great pictures and easy to follow instructions make this a welcome addition to my kitchen. Urvashi Pitre has so much information to share. I follow her group and have had such success with all of her recipes. Cannot wait to try more!
I am still making recipes on this book but so far I’ve made the 5 ingredient flourless brownies and they’re really good! They were super quick to make and instructions are very clear.
I'm thrilled my public library had this to borrow as I am buying a copy. Keto Fat Bomb, Sweets Treat is a Godsend to anyone on Keto with a sweet tooth.
There is a sumptuous array of recipes for breads, brownies, cakes, chocolates, cookies, drinks, ice cream, ice pops, pies and puddings. All Keto friendly and delicious looking (thanks to pictures for every recipe) recipes made with regular Keto ingredients already in your kitchen.
