Luca
To protect a brother, I took a hit for my MC club.
I did the time for a crime I didn’t commit.
Now my freedom is here and I come home to find my own brother hiding a secret.
But that’s not the only secret out there.
I find out I have a daughter and I’m sure she’s mine.
Her mother deceived me.
Kept her a secret from me.
And now my daughter is in danger because of a feud with an old adversary.
This war is going to leave someone dead,
And I swear it won't be Grace.
I will protect what is mine...

Author Note: Raining Hell is an MC Novel set in the Steel Veins that's chock full of steamy sex, nail-biting violence and heart-racing adventure in a way that Jackson Kane is notorious for. This can be read as a standalone but is recommended you begin from Break Hard.

Luca comes out of jail and walks into a mess after mess. This is such an awesome read that kept me glued from page to page. When Luca gets out of jail he is graced with a daughter in the beginning but it's not just that easy. I totally loved this book. It had the grit of the MC and the love story of a romance. Must read for sure.

Dahlen has become one of my favorite MC story tellers since I have gotten into my MC mode. It never fails that no matter who Dahlen writes with I still get an awesome story with great characters that make me want to read them in one sitting. And some I do...lol

Title: Raining Hell
Author: K.J. Dahlen and Jackson Kane
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
I was thrilled to read this book because I like K.J. Dahlen.
The book started out pretty good. Luca, our H, was in the process of getting out of jail. Shortly after we meet Grace the h.
One thing I liked was there was no insta-love or connection. Both characters have other things going on that are more important. Dahlen is known in her books for insta-love. I also love that the characters are flawed but Grace seems to not be too flawed. Also they didn't do very well with her back story.
The storyline wasn't bad. It moved quickly with enough "action" to keep the reader from growing bored. My biggest issue was the editing. Constantly having misspelled words, missing words, juxtaposed words...this made it difficult at times because you have to stop and reread a sentence to get the gist.
Another big issue is at times, all through the book, they changed characters paragraph to paragraph. One second reading as Luca then Grace. I had issue with this but others may not.
If you are looking for a steamy romance this isn't it. Only one scene where characters have sex. This book was more about the storyline.
Truthfully, I wasn't thrilled with this book. Sure it was about the story but characters are very one dimensional. You just don't feel invested in them. With the exception of one little character.
I technically give the book 2.5 stars but when rating the book you have to choose 2 or 3 stars. I will give it 3 stars since it was a decent read.

Carla's Five Star Review

To protect a brother, Luca went to prison. Now, he is free, but there are surprises in store for him. One is his brother's secret-a secret that could destroy him. The other is an even bigger shocker-a daughter didn't know even existed. As if that's not enough to deal with, his old nemesis won't stop until he destroys him, his club, and everyone he loves.

Grace is the sassy and beautiful social worker that showed up at the club with his daughter, Bella. At first, Grace is a real ball buster, but as she begins to see how great Luca is with Bella, she lightens up. As these three spend more and more time together, they grow into somewhat of a family unit. The only question is this-Can Luca protect them from the danger that is out to destroy them?

I really loved this book! I loved Luca and Grace together, and I really loved the way they both put Bella first. And the MC guys and their old ladies? Well, they were great as well. They doted on Bella even more! After what she had been through, that little girl sure hit the lottery with guys. She not only got a great dad, she got a ton of uncles and aunts to love and protect her!

Amazing book! Amazing author!

Raining Hell by Jackson Kane and K.J. Dahlen was an amazing read. This is the story of Luca and Grace. Luca is a member of the Stein Veins MC who just got out of prison for a crime he did not commit. He went to prison protecting one of his own. Grace is a social worker who shows up at the club looking for Luca to tell him he has a daughter who is now his responsibility. There is an immediate attraction between Luca and Grace when they first meet and it gets stronger by the day. Luca is trying to stay on the straight and narrow so that he does not go back to prison or lose his daughter to the system but there are forces working against him and his club. Will these forces come between him and Grace? Will he lose custoday of his daughter? Will the club survive the forces coming after them? You will need to read the book to get the answer to these questions. This book has suspense, highs and lows, corruption. I definitely recommend this book.

The next installment of the Steel Veins series. Luca has just been released from prison and is looking to go on the straight and narrow. When a daughter is thrown in his lap on his first day out, his determination to leave that life behind only intensifies. This is along with wanting to have sex with Grace, the social worker who places Bella in his care and who will be checking up on him to make sure he is taking proper care of her, and send her on her way, out of their lives forever.

This was the first book I've ever read by K.J. Dahlen and the eleventy billionth (or maybe about the dozenth) book I've read by Jackson Kane. I was excited to read about what the next Steel Vein had going on in his life and I was not disappointed. Definitely a recommended read but, if you have not already, you should start your reading with Break Hard so that you can get a more complete picture of the situation.

Although I enjoyed this book a lot, I did find that I wasn't as invested in the characters in the same way that I was in the previous books in the series. I felt that as a reader, we didn't get enough depth to the characters to feel for them the same way. That being said, this story was excellent and kept my attention throughout. I don't think this would work as a standalone - it is billed as part of a series, and I feel that there is a lot you, as a reader would be expected to know.
This is the first book by these authors that I have not given a 5* rating to, which, I guess means that the style of this novel perhaps, wasn't for me.
As always, I eagerly await their next offering - one in however many, means they are still on my one-click list.

Intriguing....

This is a fast paced, gripping MC romance... with all the thrills and spills that this genre can offer...

The authors have written a group of interesting characters...with Luka, a man of integrity and loyal to his brothers, and Grace, a smart, strong female as the leads.... I do love the brotherhood of an MC and this book has a diverse biker family whose interactions are a great mix of love and humour..

This suspenseful story has an intriguing plot with the bad-boys of the MC versus some very badmen.....But at its heart is a story of love, which is found in the most unlikely of places and times.....I received an advanced copy of this book.

Luca is newly released from jail from a crime that he did not commit, and walks into total chaos. Grace is a feisty social worker, who goes to see Luca to inform him of a daughter he never knew existed. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This extremely talented duo of author’ have done an amazing job in penning this story, which is filled with suspense, emotion, unconditional love, and is a steamy read. I was totally intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from these authors’. I highly recommend for all MC lovers!

Interesting storyline, which is what caught my attention, two well known authors in the MC world was another factor, and when I started to read it I thought ...... YES. This is gritty, gripping, edge of your seat, nail biting, turning page after page. I liked the characters they were great together.
Luca has just got out of jail after going down for a crime he didn't commit, he was protecting a brother, he finds out he has a daughter, Bella. Grace is the social worker who brings Bella to Luca. Trouble is brewing for Luca when a rival comes gunning for not only him but all he holds dear.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion

“Truth was the big, bad biker was one of those overly-attached parents who needed reassuring that their kid was going to be all right.”

If you have never read an MC novel, this is a damn fine place to start. I don’t know about anyone else, but for me, more than anything else this was a story about a father’s unconditional love for his little girl. Everything else was secondary. From the moment he laid eyes on her, every breath, every decision, was all about loving her and keeping her safe. This he achieved in spades. An exceptionally well written book. Congratulations!

What another amazing book from these author. This story it's about the Steel Veins MC and about the brother Luca. Luca has just got out of prison and finds out he is a dad to six year old Bella. Social worker Grace doesn't trust Luca first of all but end up having to team up to keep Bella safe. They fall for each other but with trouble brewing can they stay together. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more in this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed a advanced copy arc.

Luca is not long out of jail when he finds out he has a young daughter Bella. He decides to step up and be a good father to the little girl who doesn't talk and has obviously been through some hard times, only thing is he is falling for the stuck up social worker Grace who is watching his every move waiting for Luca to mess up.
Another of his problems is the police cheif who is running to be govener and wants Luca gone. It's up to Luca with help from Grace to bring down the cheif in the best legal way possible.
Great read really enjoyed this story.

Fast action!

After sitting in prison for six years after taking the fall for another member 's action Luca is out, freedom. But reality hits him hard, six years is a long time to be away, his house is about empty, all his things gone. Oh and by the way, you're a daddy! No job, house lacking in everything and a social worker breathing down his neck, Luca has things to do and a corrupt sheriff department is not helping find a normal life for him and his little girl. Great action, very fast paced.

Things aren't easy for Luca when he is released from prison. First learning he has a daughter then his younger brother being an addict adds to the stress of a corrupted sheriff with his own secrets to hide. Grace is a social worker tired of how those who know the sheriff are able to get away with things. When his daughter is in danger these two join forces with his brother to keep her safe and those of their city

Wild ride, buckle up

This book is awesome. Luca has been in prison to help his MC club out. His welcome home present is in the form of a little girl he knew nothing about. He steps up and take on the responsibility of caring for her. Her social worker watches over the new family and is soon ingrained with the family. Can Luca protect his daughter and the lady he is falling for, can they make this work. I loved this book so much.

Great

Grace is a social worker. Luca is fresh out of prison and has learned he has a daugther named Bella. Grace meet Luca cause she's Bella's case worker. Grace and Luca have a spark but Grace knows the dangers of MC's and she's to protect Bella. Things happen and put both Grace and Bella in danger. Can Luca and his MC keep them safe? Will they get a HEA?

Luca has done his time and is going to stay out of trouble, however trouble comes looking for him.

Grace shows up at his place hours after his release with Bella, his daughter. To be blindsided by a couple of family issues so soon after his release and the added frustration of not being able to find a job due to the meddling of a politician makes for an intriguing story with lots of action!

So good! It grips you from the very beginning. All the tension, all the sexiness, the action. You definitely don't want to put it down. Luca is all kinds of hero. Wrongfully imprisoned, a daughter he didn't know about. And now the danger she may be in. I found myself rooting for Luca immediately and getting invested in Luca and Grace's journey through the story.

After 6 years in prison Luca is finally out! He comes home to find he has a daughter but he doesn't know what to do!! With the social worker keeping tabs on him and his daughter, he finds he is attracted to her, then all heck breaks lose!!
Will Luca and the social worker make it to the end? Or will they have a happily ever after?

If you are just reading book 5 of the series, I will tell you to stop and go back to book 1 and read them in order so you know what is going on with the MC. You could probably read 5 as a standalone some of the references might not make sense but the majority of the book can stand by itself. What can I say but Jackson Kane has done it again..

When your world gets turned upside down what do you do? Being in charge of a child he didn't know existed is new without the new hell that awaits them. Definitely read the stories in order fora bigger picture.
