Not even a witch can keep her secrets safe in the sizzling ninth installment of nationally bestselling author Heather Blake’s Wishcraft series.

Wishcrafter Darcy Merriweather’s enchanted wedding plans are put to the test when murder invites itself to her bridal luncheon …

The Enchanted Village always has a touch of magic about it, but the buzz of excitement over the wedding between wish-granting witch Darcy and police chief Nick Sawyer is positively electric. With every spellbinding detail planned to perfection, all that’s left is to sit back and let wishes come true. But Darcy’s dream wedding is threatened when the Divinitea Cottage, the tea room hosting her bridal luncheon, goes up in flames, revealing the strangled body of the owner, Leyna Noble.

Making vows to solve the crime without delaying the nuptials, Darcy focuses on her prime suspect, and number one nemesis, wicked witch Dorothy Hansel Dewitt, a notorious firebug. But when a psychic vanishes without a trace, Darcy’s investigation shifts to Leyna’s mysteriously bewitching past. Darcy must sort through mystical claims and old, vengeful grudges to find a killer before she is forced to forever hold her peace.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Wedding bells will soon be ringing for wishcrafter Darcy Merriweather and Police Chief Nick Sawyer and almost everyone in the Enchanted Village is excited about it. Someone set fire to the Divinitea Cottage Tea Room minutes before Darcy arrived for her bridal luncheon. Sadly, the owner Leyna Noble did not make it out alive, but it wasn’t the smoke or fire that did her in. She was strangled!

Darcy’s prime suspect is Dorothy Hansel Dewitt, a truly wicked witch and fire is her modus operandi. Of course, Leyna is new to the village, so there may be other suspects. When a psychic who was part of Leyna’s past vanishes Darcy decides to broaden the investigation even though Dorothy’s behavior is not doing her any favors.

Secrets! That is the theme of this story. Secrets that will truly change lives.

Reading this story was truly bittersweet as it is the last book in the series. Author Heather Blake’s very memorable characters take readers on an enchanted final journey. All the characters we have come to love come together to celebrate Darcy and Nick’s wedding, solve a scary mystery, and share a magical moment.

I have enjoyed every book in this series but this one my favorite. The Wishcrafter theme is unique and fun and seeing Darcy’s wishes come true was so heartwarming. We are also treated to a fantastic whodunit. A suspicious death and fire, a missing person, along with what could be some world-ending mayhem.

Knowing this was the last time I would be visiting these characters I had allotted extra reading time so I could savor the time with them. But there was so much happening and the pace was so quick, I was shocked how fast I finished this book. There was a true edge of my seat moment too where the pages moved even faster. I am glad I was reading on my kindle, a paperback copy may have burst into flames 🙂

I am so happy with the way this series has ended and I want to thank Heather Blake for many hours of escaping into these GREAT books! I will never forget these magical characters or their wonderful village.

It is only fitting that this book will be on my Best Reads List for 2019.

A Witch to Remember by Heather Blake is the final book in the Wishcraft series. It was a bittersweet end to this favorite series for me. All the subplots were wrapped up, Darcy and Nick were married and my favorite character that I loved to hate got what they deserved. I will miss this series but I was very pleased with this twisted and complex story.

The ultimate good vs evil is the theme wound throughout the storyline of this installment of the Wishcraft Mystery series. Wonderful things are on the horizon, but evil is lurking to tear it all apart. The gang must work together to overcome and have a future. Excellent character development has you invested in the outcome and the well thought out plot will have you flipping pages to figure out the intrigue!

I can't believe this is the last book in this series. I have loved reading this series and seeing the characters grow. In this book Darcy and Nick are getting married. The tea room where Darcy was having her bridal luncheon catches fire just before Darcy and her sister, Harper, arrive. The owner appears to have dies in the fire but it is later revealed that she was strangled before the fire started. Most of the town thinks it was Dorothy, a truly evil witch that Darcy has had problems with before, that set the fire. But there was a protection spell on the teas room so Dorothy couldn't have set the fire. Darcy works with Dorothy's daughter, Glinda, to find the real culprit.

This book made me sad since its the last one. I really love this town and the characters. I do think the author ended the series very well. This was my favorite in the series by far. I loved how all the characters we have grown to love were there to celebrate Darcy and Nick. I also saw the twist involving the elder right away. I was happy to see that I was right. It was a great ending to a fantastic series.

This series stared as a village with some magic but has become more and more magic with familiars, spells and lots of danger. The wish granting witch and the police chief are finally getting married. This book would be better for someone who is into magic or enjoys reading about witchcraft and spells.

Series: A Wishcraft Mystery - Book 9
Author: Heather Blake
Genre: Cozy Mystery/Witch/Paranormal
Publisher: Crooked Lane
Page Count: 288

A Witch to Remember, the newest cozy book installment from author Heather Blake in the “A Wishcraft Mystery” series published by Crooked Lane Books is full of fun, fascinating action, and charismatic characters. This book and series are a must read for fans of all types and ages who love magic, witches and the paranormal.

Darcy’s wedding is just around the corner. For some reason she isn’t nervous or obsessed with preparation, most of that worry is being handled by her pregnant sister, Harper, whose own wedding isn’t too far away. Darcy has far more to worry about that a simple wedding. Like will her mother still be around after the renewal ceremony or will wicked witch Dorothy finally get her way?

Characters from this series have become a part of many readers lives. They excitedly wait for each book to come out, and happily settle in for what is sure to be a page-turner. The characters are beloved by readers and in some cases have begun to feel like family. Even Dorothy, the ongoing villainess in all most every way possible, cannot be dismissed. In addition to Darcy and Harper, appearances are made by their devoted quirky Aunt Ve, Pepe and Mrs. P, as well as Archie the squawking menace who loves to play movie quote games and drives everyone crazy., as well as other cherished characters. Each character has a distinct personality, most of them are lovable and readers cheer from the sidelines as they overcome problems and share their joy and love with one another. These are the type of characters a cozy book writer strives to create.

The setting of The Enchanted Village is picturesque. After book one, you feel that the town is as special as those who inhabit the houses and businesses. You feel at home and are filled with the wonder of magic. The shops are adorable and may lead readers to look at small towns they pass through on vacations or outings with an eye towards seeing the unusual and hidden. Book 9 is no exception. Readers of this cozy book will fall in love with The Enchanted Village even if they have never read any of the other books in the series.

The mystery in A Witch to Remember is tantalizingly intriguing and most readers will need to read right up to the end in order to figure out who the killer is. The unmasking of the murderer is easy to accomplish once Darcy starts putting two-and-two together and realizes that not everything is as it may seem. Readers will need to dig a little deeper to come up with the answers but it will be worth the effort.

A Wishcraft Mystery series is one of the best on the market today. If cozy readers want a book that fills them with happiness or gives them a sense of satisfaction they can’t go wrong by choosing these books. It is rumored that this will be the last book in this series, and if the rumors are saying goodbye to these characters will not be easy. But… if you haven’t read these books, grab them and get started for you will not be disappointed. If you have read them, know that characters live on in the hearts and minds of those who not only wrote them but of those who loved them.

If you need to find a new witch based series to read that will keep you interested, you enjoy Amanda M. Lee’s series, “Wicked Witches of the Midwest” or Jennifer David Hesse’s “A Wiccan Wheel Mystery”.

On A Personal Note:
It has been a great pleasure for me to read and review this series. It has brought a smile to my face with each book, a tear and a twinkle to my eyes with each ending, and filled me with a wish, of magic

I’m not sure if this is the last book in the series, but it feels like it could be. So many things were exposed, so many things tied up and we were left with a very happy ending for Darcy and Nick. I liked how things changed with the Elder and the Witch Council, I think things are for the better there. I’m happy that one person who was a pain in the ass for the community is no longer around to cause trouble. I’m also very happy with how a couple characters have changed for the better. But the best was the happy wedding at the end.

I honestly do not have much to say about this book. I just don't think it is the type of book I am interested in. It was very well written, so I didn't dislike it. I just didn't love it.

This is the last installment in this series, and it was a 3.5/3.75 for me, but for review purposes I bumped it up to a 4 SOLELY for the last few paragraphs with the familiars. I'm angry at myself for not catching on earlier in the book the name similarities and true identity of the mysterious Hildie, who appears to Darcy early on in the story to give her a magical talisman. Side note, a name I wish would make a come back. As far as the mystery went, it was predictable. The murderer was pretty obvious after Darcy idly wondered why they looked familiar to her, so clearly they were connected to someone I'm the Enchanted Village. The mystery seemed secondary to wrapping up loose ends with the village characters, and making sure those who deserves it got theirs in the end. There wasn't as much loose end wrapping up as I would have liked, particularly with Missy/Melina, who in previous books alluded to the fact that she would move on once the family was settled. Does it make me a horrible person that I wanted the dog to die? Also, the caffeine cutting down being forced down our throats made the "surprise" at the end glaringly obvious, along with Godfrey's snide comments during dress fitting. I don't appreciate it when the reader is taken for a fool, even when it is done tongue in cheek. I will miss this series for the light hearted witchiness though, even if this wasn't the most satisfying of endings.

This series was wonderful. Magical realism. Nothing over the top, great characters, and no sappy romance. Heather BlakeMs. Blake did comment that she had declined the opportunity to add two more insttallments, but she declined. I think it was a good choice. It was a good conclusion, and anything more would feel forced.

This has to be one of my all-time favorite cozy mystery series. I have spent many hours happily devouring each new book in the series as it was released. This one, I put off reading for a bit because I knew it would be the last time I would be visiting Darcy, Nick, Mimi, Archie, Ve, Harper and the rest of the residents of the Enchanted Village as this is the final book in the series. I borrowed this book from the library and started reading it with a bit of sadness. However, once again, Heather Blake wove an amazing story that had me lost and entertained as she wrapped up the series. This was the perfect cap on an amazing series and while I am sad that there will be no more adventures in my future with these characters, I closed the book with a huge sense of satisfaction that this was the ending the author envisioned from the start and it was perfect, just like the entire series had been.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this author does next and I am hoping that her readers will be getting more cozy mystery series from her in the future.

I am so sad to see this series end. I will say that the author did a great job of tying everything up. I even found myself getting choked up on a few spots. This is the first time that I have actually did a good job of actually suspecting the right person of course it was one of three that I thought it might be. All of my favorite characters including Pepe and Mrs. P were present and a few I do not care for, but were necessary for the story. This series has been a source of enjoyment.

2022 bk 90. I both love and hate it when an author puts their foot down and says "this is it!" A Witch to Remember is a satisfying end to what has been a fun paranormal mystery series. It has been filled with a mixture of 3 and 1 dimensional characters - the 3 dimensional being the ones we followed from book to book. The setting was cute, but it was the characters and the multiple book plot lines that made this series. This title wraps up all of the loose ends. Thank you Heather Blake for fun reads on rainy days.

This book is all about secrets. It seems everyone has them in this story. Darcy Merriweather is getting married, Harper is having a very important birthday and their mother has a big event too. Of course there is a death with a very obvious suspect but Darcy isn't sure the suspect is the correct one so she continues asking questions. The book was a quick easy read.

I know this was the final book in the series but I really did not enjoy it. As much as I enjoyed some of the coming together of old stories, in the end, it wasn't enough to keep me interested. I ended up skipping the middle and reading the last five chapters, satisfied with knowing the ending even if I wasn't satisfied with it.

I loved this book! I enjoy when an author plans out a book series and Heather Blake definitely took the time to do that with this series. If this is your first look at these books, I recommend starting with book 1 and reading them in order. This book is about the upcoming wedding of Darcy & Nick and the Elder Renewal ceremony. There is a murder in the Enchanted Village right before Darcy's bridal shower and Nick, Darcy, and Glinda are on the case. I was sad to finish this series, but I loved the way that the story ended. I look forward to the next new books from Heather Blake!

Besides the fact that the author repeats the main Mc's stomach feels bad/is churning/is queasy on every other page because we can guess after the second time that it was a good book. It feels a bit rushed at the end and the bad guy is only half baked and in need of some clarification as to her personality and behaviors, especially at the end of the book. A nice finish to the series.

I wasn't crazy about the last book in this series but I decided to give it another try.

It was okay. The first half was very boring. I realize there has to be some introduction but it wasn't holding my interest at all. The last quarter was better and wrapped up nicely.

With two books in a row I'm not crazy about I don't think I will continue to read this series.

A Witch to Remember by Heather Blake is a bittersweet ending to fantastic series that I wish could continue.
Will Darcy have her happily ever after?
Darcy Merriweather and the gang are back in the final Wishcraft Mystery book. It is a bittersweet ending to leave these fantastic characters behind. I consider them my friends that I help find clues and figure out whatever Darcy is investigating. Darcy and Nick's wedding is getting nearer, but they also have a lot of other things on their plates. The two most important ones are the renewal ceremony and who could have killed Leyna.
A Witch to Remember CRThe Investigation
The murder of Leyna brings to light many other things that have been going on that the town just dismissed. Like Dorothy turning down a dark path that people noticed but couldn't have stopped that from happening. Another being her eventual divorce to Sylar. A lot of things led to another that doesn't seem to be connected until Darcy figures out who the suspect is. I would have never guessed it was the person that did it, but then again, I also knew it couldn't have been Dorothy. She was the biggest red herring ever.
Five Stars
A Witch to Remember by Heather Blake, as I said before, is a bittersweet ending, but I loved how it ended. Ms. Blake did a fantastic job with this series. I felt as if I was apart of the family in this Crafter world. No spoiling from me about this book, but everyone who loves cozy paranormal mysteries should read it. It had me going from the very beginning, and the story is excellent.

A Witch to Remember is so great that I am giving it five stars.

I love this series. I primarily have paranormal and mystery books on Mt Git'r'Read and the WWBL and this is a combo of the two. Some series get stale the farther in the books go in number. This is book 9 and I honestly think it could go on for quite some time, fresh and fun, but it has the feel of end of series to me. If so, it's ending on a high note as all series should.
Darcy has a lot on her plate in this book. She's always busy since she runs a wish business and she is an investigator and she's a witch. I wish I could be as energetic and forward moving as she, I get exhausted reading everything she does. It's in her to be and do as much as she can, with a big heart.
Plus she has to keep everything secret. Mortals visit the magical village, not realizing that witches live and work there among them. She even has secrets from her friends and family.
There was quite a bit of mystery going on. A death, a fire, all kinds of mayhem. A week that should have been nothing but the last minute business of getting married to her love, but had her all over the place trying to figure out who among the many suspects is the whodunit.
There is one person in the book that I wish there had been more interaction with. This is a truly evil person, but seems to be a bit backburnered due to the other things going on. A bit of relief as this character has caused me to almost flip pages until the scenes they are in are done. *shudder* Truly evil character.
Some cozy/amateur sleuth books can make for eye-rolling. Add in magical abilities and it could stretch the credibility quota more than I care to read. Heather Blake can make it all seem possible, even real. Life is lived and the mystery must be solved for the sake of family and friends and village life. And one can believe in magical abilities for the space of time of reading this wonderful book and series.
I can highly definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author.

We visit the Enchanted Forrest for the last time in the final book of the Wishcraft Mystery series. Darcy always seems to have her hands full and this book offers no exception. With her wedding just a week away, her pregnant sisters' birthday coming up and the elder renewal to boot, how could she possibly have time for anything else? Well let's just add a fire at Divinitea Cottage and see where that brings us. With the sudden death of Leyna Noble in the fire at Divinitea, Darcy has now had to add an investigation to establish who was not only behind the sudden fire, but what their motives were. With the pressure on high, Darcy gets right to work and starts off with her prime suspect, Dorothy Hansell DeWitt, who coincidentally is also the biggest concern with making the elder renewal a hairy situation. With the clock ticking, Darcy is determined to get to the bottom of it all and solve the mystery once and for all so everyone can finally be at peace. Can she catch the culprit before everything falls apart?
Like all the others in this series, I listed to the audio version of this book. I absolutely loved it! It was bittersweet as it was the last of the series, being also the first cozy mystery series I read. I love how everything came together in this last book, and it even had me a little teary eyed (though it doesn't help I'm quite the emotional one lately). There was so much going on I'm this last book and it just made it all the more amazing. I think it was my favorite one of all of them. Coleen Marlow as always did an amazing job narrating. Seriously guys, if you haven't read this series yet, I strongly urge you to do so. I'm quite partial to the audiobooks, but I'm willing to bet that even without the narrator they're just as good. I rate this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫

SECRETS

Darcy Merriweather is concealing so many secrets, from so many people, that it’s no wonder she has a constant headache these days. And she has a lot on her mind. Her wedding is coming up very soon. A mysterious stranger gives her a very mysterious gift. The Elder Renewal is coming up, and there’s a battle going on to try to keep it from happening, which could destroy Darcy’s entire world. And, of course, someone gets murdered! Darcy, as the sole Craft Investigator, has an incredible amount to worry about, and the many details she has to take care of are baffling, almost overwhelming. But Darcy has matured a lot in the two years since she and her sister Harper came to the Enchanted Village; the things she has learned and the friends she has made have given her the solid base of skills and wisdom she needs at this most crucial time of her life.

Heather Blake has crafted another book full of magic, suspense, mystery, and love, and every page has been well worth the wait. This is the final book in the wonderfully enchanting Wishcraft Mysteries, and as sad as it is that there won’t be another sparkling “Darcy Day” coming, this is a satisfying ending to the story. The people of the Enchanted Village seem so real that it feels as if they have now shared with the rest of us all of the story they feel the need to share. At least for now. I can’t help but hope someday they’ll decide to share a bit more! In the meantime, I know I, for one, will be re-reading the entire series a few more times.
