I remember enjoying children's books with my two children, of course, but I don't remember enjoying them this much! One Spotted Giraffe is wonderfully engaging. The eight pandas pop-up counts as one of the most adorable I have seen. Thank you to my daughter and granddaughter for bringing my love of children's books back to me!
-Tenemos una copia staff para storytime -Sencillo, brillante, -Adjetivos un poco dificiles para los mas jovenes- seria una oportunidad hablar de las caracteristicas de los animales ?
This book has been such a delightful bedtime favorite in our household. The vibrant illustrations (& even 3D pop-up Pages that still survived!) and engaging text make it perfect for winding down before sleep. Each page introduces new animals and counting fun, which keeps my little ones captivated and entertained. It's a heartwarming and educational read that we cherish every night. Highly recommended for any child's bedtime routine! 🛌📚🎶✨
This cute animal counting book goes from 1-10 with different wild animals. The part of this book that sets it apart is that each number includes a pop-up aspect - the animal featured on that page also makes up the pop-up number. For instance, the number 4 is made out of a snake, since there were 4 snakes on the page. Because of the pop-up parts, this one will need extra supervision with toddlers.
This is one of my all-time favorite storytime books. I just love the number popups, they are so cute and the kids always really enjoy seeing how the animal is made to look like the number.
This is a hardback, big-sized book that takes you through the numbers 1-10. The pop-up element of the book is not your typical type of pop-up. This is because the pop-up doesn't happen when you open the page. Rather the pop-up is hidden under a flap on each page. This is actually good because it makes the pop-ups less rip-able by little hands (although still rip-able), and instead little hands can open the flaps, which obviously gets them more involved than similar number books of the non-pop-up kind.
The double-page spreads contain a picture of some animals, with the number of them being consistent with the corresponding number (1-10). These are painted to make them realistic. Then under the flap at the side of this is the pop-up number which is the animal in cartoon version contorting himself into the shape of the number. The pages also have text, e.g. one spotty giraffe.
My daughter is just learning her numbers now and she likes to lift those flaps so she can touch those pop-up bits, so maybe a bit of supervision will be required if you want the book to remain intact, plus once she has learnt her numbers the book will lose its usefulness.
I just had to include this stunning animal counting book after I shared it to a rapt audience at baby time this week. All little eyes were absolutely glued to the huge, brilliantly-coloured animal illustrations, and lifting each flap to reveal an animal-shaped pop-up letter brought coos of excitement and delight. I like that Horacek has included some more unusual animals in the counting book, which makes a nice departure from the typical cows and dogs and other animals featured in most kids’ counting books. The intended audience on the back of the book is “age 3 and up”, but I would definitely suggest giving this one a try at your next baby time.
A creative and colorful counting book with pop-up number in the shape of animals like giraffes, zebras, fish. The pop-up portion is underneath a flap that is like a page-within-a-page. Elliot really likes flipping open that page flap to reveal the number. I checked this out from the library when Elliot was 12months old, which was fine, but I think he will understand the counting more when he’s closer to two years old, so I’ll check it out again
Update: definitely understood it more a few weeks shy of 3 years old

Counting
I searched high and low and finally found a counting book that fit all the criteria for our project, and that I loved! Counting to 10 doubled as a pop-up book!? PERFECT combination. The book has great illustrations, a pop-up feature, and unique animals just to make it a little more interesting. I don't see how any student learning to found would not LOVE this book as much as I did.
Picture Book 44: This book is a very simple counting book. I chose it because I am obsessed with Giraffes! I have always enjoyed pop-up books because they really catch my attention and I believe it catches childrens attention too. It makes the book more fun and creative! I would definitely recommend this to a parent whose child is learning to count.
This counting book has it all--animals, bright colors, AND lift the flaps. It goes to 10, and each page has a different animal on it (many of which are not typically found in children's books!) Also, under the flaps, the numbers are written and decorated in the colorings of the animals mentioned. I highly recommend this to children learning to count!
Creativity in a counting and pop-up title! Counting thru ten of basically jungle animals. Animals are rendered in vibrant colors which is a trait of Horacek art style. It is the lift the flap on the left or hand side double page spread and up pops the number counted with an illustration of the animal on the number. Loved this title.
Great illustrations. Fold-out flaps depict the animal in the shape of a number; e.g., for two zebras, the number two has a zebra face and black and white stripes. A terrific counting book for very young children.
An unusual pop-up book in the the pop-ups are disguised as lift-the-flaps. The surprise beneath each is the animal in the shape of the number. Nice illustrations, and although the flaps are stong (double folds) but pop-ups are still tearable.
A counting book featuring an array of animals and a fold out pop up number designed to look like the animal mentioned in text. Great read aloud for the toddler crowd.
This is a fun, simple counting book. Amazing illustrations and pop-up numbers. Love that it has the number and the written number word. Great book to give as a gift.
