Overall this book does what it sets out to do - provide a basic blueprint for doing yoga in bed. Although the book has many flaws, I'm giving four stars for the following reasons:
(1) A resource useful for disabled people and the chronically ill of us who spend a lot of time in bed. You don't see these often, and it's refreshing and useful, both.
(2) Just the permission in general for everyone of any ability to try yoga without some sort of achievement goal in mind. This isn't about how many or how long or how often, it's just about moving when you can move, and a structure to do that if you want.
(3) Stick figures instead of photos. The use of stick figures showing poses means that there is no temptation to compare myself to that person, nor to say what someone has to look like to do yoga, or to be chronically ill or whatever.
(4) Tons of poses to try. There are A LOT of poses shown here; for me I can do the simple ones on bad days and try more complex poses when I have that energy.
(5) There is a nice section at the end on breathing, and types of breath. Again I love this because it is accessible to many people of varying skill, disability, illness or whatever.
(6) I have OCD, and so getting down on the (dirty, germ ridden) floor to do floor poses is really hard for me. Why had I never considered that I could do almost all of them in my (safe) bed?

Ok, there were things that did not work for me in this book:
(1) Stick figures instead of photos. I know, I just listed that as a plus. But also, using stick figures means that some of these poses just don't make sense. I can't see how my body relates to that figure. I'm plus sized, and the stick figure is ... a stick. Some of the ways it moves are impossible for me. The book should have had a section at the end showing actual people in actual beds of different sizes and disabilities doing the moves.
(2) The descriptions of the poses are too brief, and do not spend enough time exploring the ways in which a person might be challenged, or the times a person should not attempt that pose based on injury or whatever.
(3) Super pet peeve. At the end you can click to get a free copy of "Save Your Life with Stupendous Spices." This made me sad. This yoga book was so good for everyone at any size or ability. Part of Health At Every Size is the understanding that there are no magic cures, especially in food, that will 'fix' us. The idea that 'oh no, if I don't understand how to use spices I'll die' is click-bait and damaging to people trying to see themselves as whole creatures, not just the byproduct of what they eat.

As someone who practices yoga regularly; I skimmed through this pretty quick. I didn't really need to read descriptions of How to Do Poses. Mainly I was curious for what poses were suggested. Was surprised to see Warrior Poses. I would have never thought of doing them lying down. All and all Quick, Kindle Unlimited Free Read that would probably benefit those who are new to Yoga.

As someone who struggles with exercise due to chronic arthritis and mobility issues, this book has introduced me to some techniques that I can complete whilst supported in bed. It's taking time to find the most appropriate for me, but a great little reference moving forward.
