Hi! I’m Corinna. I am an International Makeup Artist, Travel Blogger, former Magazine Beauty Director, and very proudly, a Best Selling Author.
I write books about my greatest passion in life, traveling in Italy. Every day that I’m not in Italy I am daydreaming about being there.
When I was growing up I wanted to be an archaeologist. I dreamed about digs in exotic locales around the world, discovering ancient ruins and celebrating lost cultures. That bubble burst when I realized I didn’t like getting dirty. So I became a Makeup Artist instead, traveling the world, studying history and art and learning languages along the way.
Like the masses before me I completely fell in love with Italy. I love the culture, the history, the art, architecture and music, the food the wine and above all, the people.
Unlike most countries, with Italy the more new places you stumble upon the more you realize you’ve barely skimmed the tip of the iceberg. So I still have a lifetime of discovery ahead of me! I spend as much time as possible in Italy each year. As well as my personal travel, every summer I take small groups of women on boutique, private Glam Italia tours .
I grew up in New Zealand and have lived around the globe on continents and islands and in some of the most exciting cities in the world. At this time I live in the wild beauty that is Arizona, where every sunset seems more spectacular than the one before and 9 months of the year the weather is perfect. (The other 3 months are a little toasty)

I feel like the author has a very balanced approach when combining the words "Italy" and "budget" into one sentence. I liked her perspective on having fun, choosing what is important to you, and saving on the things you can.
She's got chapters on basic trip-building (figuring out what matters most to you), how long to stay, airport tips and tricks, booking your flights for maximum ease-of-travel, navigating train systems (for those of us nowhere near a train in our natural habitat), among many other useful things. Even the chapters on things I wasn't super interested in have been fun to read! I really like the author's writing style.
She wrote about bathrooms being different in Italy versus the US, public transportation, and food to try and things to avoid — so much stuff that I haven't seen talked about in the blogs or YouTube videos I've been watching on Italy. This book made me excited about Italy as a country! If you are looking into going to Italy but have no idea where to start, I would recommend you start with this book. It's not overwhelming, but rather, it is fun and easy to read, while also being informative. If I ever go to Italy, this ebook will be downloaded in offline mode for easy reference.
I will probably be reading her book on Rome as well since this one was so informative!
Content wise, there are a few curse words in the book but I didn't find it to be incredibly vulgar or over the top.
As far as a travel guide to Italy goes ... this will be stored in my carry on. I could easily reference details of this book for future travel! I am ready & excited to tackle Italy... If you are a seasoned traveler there are suggestions you will already know well, but a reminder is always lovely.
This is a really sweet, fun, and helpful book. With some pragmatic tips, some moments of memoir, and some checklists, I feel less intimidated to travel to Italy (alone for the first 5 days, with family for the next 5). I recommend this book if you’re looking for some helpful hints and have not been to Italy before.
