This is the seventh book in the Reed Security series and it is recommended that they are read in order.
“Here’s the deal. The Blood Devils and the Night Kings have declared war on us. They attacked our homes and they tortured our women. Now, this all started with Chris’s woman and we’ve talked about how we want to deal with them.” Cap looked around the room at the men and women that were standing with us. “No mercy. By the time we’re through with them, there won’t be a single one of them still standing. What we’re going to do isn’t legal and it could land us in jail if we’re caught. If you don’t want any part of this, you can walk away. Some of you have families to think about and you won’t be thought less of for wanting to protect them. OPS can go back home and the gangs will never know that you were tied to this if something goes wrong. If you’re with Reed Security, you can stay here and be on protection detail while we’re gone. The choice is yours.” I looked around the room and saw that no one was backing down. No one even looked hesitant. “After what they did to Vanessa, you can bet your a$$ I want in,” Cazzo growled. “They didn’t get Claire or Lucy, but they shot up my house,” Derek said. “No one gets away with that.” One by one, everyone from Reed Security put in their two cents on the matter. “They shot my dog,” Jackson glowered. “I’m in.” “My pillows are destroyed,” Chance sneered. “You can bet I want to mess them up.” The room went silent as everyone stared at Chance. “What?” He looked around the room at the raised eyebrows and confused faces. “That bed cost me $3000. It was the most comfortable room in the house, and the pillows were $200 a piece. They were hypoallergenic.” Still, everyone just stared at him. He rolled his eyes. “Hey, I don’t have a family or a dog, but I do have creature comforts and it pisses me off that someone destroyed that.”
Chris "Jack" McKay left behind the love of his life seventeen years ago. Now, when she needs him most, he'll give anything to help the woman he loves and her son. But not everyone at Reed Security trusts Alison and her intentions for their teammate. Especially when two gangs come after Reed Security and their families.

The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: ❤️💜💙💚 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘📙 World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌎 Character development: 😟😣🙃🙂🥰
The heroine:Alison (a.k.a. Ali) - she was in love with Chris McKay when they were kids. He left her to join the Blood Devils to try to get his brother Will out of the gang. 17 years later, Ali and her son Axel are captives of Slasher, the president of the Blood Devils who took her the day after Chris left. He regularly beats both of them and Ali knows she needs to escape or die trying.
The Hero(es):Chris McKay (a.k.a. Jack) - when he was 17 he left his hometown for the Marines after seeing his brother get murdered by the biker gang that he had joined in order to take care Chris after their father died. Their mother was a junky and a waste of space. Chris left his girlfriend Ali behind thinking she would be better off without him.
The Story: Ali escapes the Blood Devils and goes to Chris at Reed Security for help. The blood devils come after her and get the local Motorcycle gang involved. So Reed Security now has two of the most dangerous Motorcycle gangs out for them.
All the men of Reed Security and their families are involved in this and it is a legit crazy situation with all these bikers after them. They have no value for human life and don’t mind using women and children to get what they want. This was definitely the darkest book in the series so far.
Meanwhile Chris is happy to be reunited with Ali. They have never lost the love they had for each other. The romance doesn’t come into play as much until the last half of the book, but like all the Reed Security books this one is steamy as well as suspenseful.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
Had to review so I could see how booksprout worked!
Loved this book. It was full of action and kept me on my toes. Couldn’t put it down! I also loved that it was written from many different perspectives. We got to read what was going through many of the different ‘Reeders’ and it really added to the story. Definitely recommend!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, kidnapping, murder, abuse, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Sinner (A Reed Security, #1) Cap (A Reed Security, #2) Cazzo (Reed Security, #3) Knight (Reed Security, #4) Irish (Reed Security, #5) Hunter (Reed Security #6)
This is Alison and Chris (Jack)’s story. Alison and Jack were in love back when they were teenagers. But when Jack’s brother was killed in a gang he left Alison behind. Little did he know that he left her to the gang life. Now years later she shows up broken and beaten and asking for help. When his team realizes what kind of trouble she brings looking for her they go to war. With not only one gang but two. Now they have to protect all their family’s and keep everyone safe. Can Alison trust these men to help her or are they just playing her? Will they ever have a safe life, or will the gangs make sure to take out a few of their own along the way?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
This is the 7th book in the Reed Security series, and y'all READ all of the books before, I HIGHLY recommend it because they all build on each other. There are a lot of characters mentioned in the book and it will help keep everything straight - and also they are really good too!
Whiskey is Chris and Ali's story and it is a second chance romance that will hit you with ALL of the feels while still having a majorly dangerous feel to it. It was action packed with emotional situations that will have you anticipating what will happen next. These two clearly belong with each other and it was a great book to read- 4.5 outta 5 stars from me!!
PS: I received a free copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.
This is the seventh book of the Reed Security series and this read is about Chris (Whiskey) and Alison. The characters are enjoyable and the storyline flows well with humor, action, violence, family and love. This book is very emotional and please be advised the violence is rape, abuse and murder.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Fun, sexy mexy, plenty of action and yes at times tears.
This is by far the best series and the offspring series I have read this year.
The complex threads that Giulia weaves her stories, and her characters keeps you coming back for more. You will be riveted to the pages and find that hours have passed by the time you manage to pull yourself away.
You will laugh your arse off when you are not sweating through the action.
The previous books in this series have captured my attention and kept me engaged from start to finish but that is nothing compared to how engrossed I became in the 7th instalment. Whiskey is unlike the ones that have come before, the stakes are higher, there is more action, there is more violence, and the midst of it all a second chance at love.
Chris is a man that exudes strength and protectiveness. His commanding presence stands out and his actions are something to be revered when it comes to his loved ones. He has this really sweet side when it comes to his family and it brings his character to life. Alison is kind, forgiving, and has a strength to her you wouldn’t believe. She is without a doubt one of the strongest women we meet in the series. These two met when they were kids and have known they met ‘the one’ from very early on. Circumstances tore them apart but they’re together again and with that comes the divulgence that neither of them stopped loving the other. It’s clear these two belong together and it’s finally going to happen, their story is a heartfelt one which bring out a variety of emotions but is so enjoyable at the same time.
The arrival of Alison and Axel (who is a protective, brave, and determined teenager) into Chris’ life brings with it trouble from two gangs and a lot more bloody and brutal violence. This is where the stakes are raised. These chapters were so intense with the entire Reed Security family under threat and everyone is in need of protection as attacks come from all sides. With this storyline comes the first chapter of Reed Security perspectives in the series. In these chapters we see events unfold from multi point of views that are not of the current main characters and it elevates the book to new heights and brings out a variety of emotions. This storyline isn’t for the faint of heart and does comes with a few potential triggers which show the danger of the situation the characters are in, but Giulia doesn’t use these lightly they are used to develop the narrative for multi characters and move the plot forward in a well thought out and respected way.
To break up the intensity of this book Giulia weaves in scenes of humour that provide a bit of normalcy in a highly stressful situation. The relief provided in these scenes gives the reader a chance to relax alongside the characters and are highly humours. The scenes with Sinner and his uncontainable excitement about wanting to use a new weapon go to show why he is my favourite character.
Whiskey is undoubtedly more than a five-star read and it’s my favourite of the series so far.
I really enjoyed this book. Spoilers will be coming. I feel like all these books at this point are hit or miss. With the majority so far be misses.
I loved Knight's story and then Sinner's story. The rest have been either meh or just bad.
Then this story came along and the writing was good, the characters were good, and story itself was good. I loved so that they had all the characters. So it wasn't just truly Chris and Ali's story, but rather a story of them all pulling together.
In addition to the main characters from Reed security, they also brought in Cash's company from California to take out the gang. So to see everyone pulling together to wipe out two gangs was pretty awesome.
I was also glad that no one blamed Ali or Chris for bringing this issue to them. Because it really was Ali who brought it to their doorstep. But because she was Chris's girl, she was automatic family. Except for Gabe. He was disappointing for a long while with the way he treated her. In the end, he became awesome. But he definitely had some rough moments that were less than desirable. But, made for an interesting book so I will give them that.
I did think the fingers and back were a bit much. And to the extreme. And while Maggie ended up spilling the beans on the safe house, she also did it in a manner to help those inside. So that was cool.
I really am up and down with a series. Only three books have been five stars. And the rest have been quite disappointing. Batting 50% isn't really that great. I really just wanted to get to Lola and hear her story. So it's pleasantly surprised with this one. The double names though, gets very old. The code names are so rarely used that it is hard to remember who they are for me. And the first couple books had just the key characters. The third book didn't have anyone with them. And then the fourth and on so far has had everybody listened which I don't like because it also gives out future relationships and children. Let me know that when it happens, don't tell me what happens now for the future. Because honestly, I figured Burg would end up with Megan. But I know from reading the cast of characters that's not the case. I read the books without reading the blurbs. I do that for the surprise factor and to be in the moment. But reading what's coming in as far as characters and family growing, does not keep me in the moment. I need the eye roll emoji. Lol
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Another hit from this author for her Reed Security series. Whiskey is slightly different than the others in the series as it deftly juggles not just Chris (Whiskey) & Ali's story but brings in all the Reed Security crew & their women as well as some cameos/mentions of our fave people from For the Love of A Good Woman series. Ali is an immensely strong & driven woman, who is an icon on what a mother will do to protect her child. And while Chris is a strong, lethal & focused man, IMO Ali takes the forefront in their story. It was her planning, grit, determination & love that was the catalyst after a 17 year limbo for her & Chris. Her actions cause not one, but two of the area's worst MC gangs to go after the families & possessions of the crew of Reed Security. NOT a smart move. The Reed Security crew are professional, lethal, highly trained ex-military but ALL bets are off when their loved ones are hurt and/or endangered. What is loosed therefore is HELL on earth. Once the action explodes, the reader is treated to not only Chris & Ali's POV, but almost all of the Reed crew. This could have been chaotic for a reader to follow but the author handled it masterfully: there was never any confusion as to who's POV we were reading or why. Very light brushes of humor offset some of the darker parts but this book had some very grim parts indeed. However, the grim & dark parts IMO fit the plot, the situation & there was well detailed reasoning for it. BUT, overall, this was a story of love: Love of mother for child, a man for his woman, brothers-in-arms for each other & their loved ones. The reader is given glimpses into the hearts of these brave & fierce warriors that hold few soft spots & those are for their loved ones & comrades. Again, I think this was an excellent addition to the series & cannot wait until the next one is released!
This is the story of Chris and Alison (Ali) who were childhood sweethearts, Chris’s brother got mixed up with a Notorious MC which in the end causes Chris to leave town after watching his brother being killed in-front of him.
At the time when Chris left he thought he was doing the right thing by leaving Ali behind, he thought she was destined for a brighter future without him little did he know she was taken by the MC and over the course of the next 17yrs she was raped, beaten and used by the very man responsible for the death of his brother.
Ali however manages to escape from the clutches of the MC finding her way back to Chris who now works at Reed Security however she’s not alone, her 16yr old son is with her, he happens to be Chris’s son, turns out she was pregnant when he left her, but he didn’t know that at the time.
So now Ali is back and she’s brought their son with her, she’s also brought trouble as the MC have followed her, they want her back. With Chris determined to keep both Ali and their son safe his team and the rest of Reed Security have his back, but a storm is brewing and nobody’s safe there’s danger all around, the fight is on to keep all of their families safe.
Can the team at Reed Security keep their own safe whilst they eliminate the enemy? Read this thrilling action packed book to find out, actually don’t read it, live it, that’s how I felt going from page to page.
I didn’t just read this book I lived it and I loved it. Lagomarsino smashed it out the ball park with this one, I can’t wait to see what she brings us next.
I've become attached to Giulia Lagomarsino in a very short time, while devouring every book she's written, but I have to say that Whiskey was the most EPIC to date! Like I mean all the heart pounding moments still have me shaking after reading it hours ago, and I'm not even sure how to word this review because it will be only a drop in the bucket compared to this story! Reviews are rated with 1-5 stars, but if it were possible, I would have rated it a million more! Whiskey is Chris' story, but when all hell breaks loose, not a person on the team won't be impacted. But let me give a bit of the background. Chris grew up very poor with a mother who didn't give a crap about her kids, so his older brother took care of them by joining the Blood Devils, and Chris had to walk away from everything so he wasn't killed. That included the love of his life, Alison, who he thought he was keeping safe by walking away. However, 17 years later, he learns that he was oh so wrong, when Alison calls his company out of the blue, to save her & her son. What follows is straight up chaos as two gangs, the Blood Devils & Night Kings come together to start a vicious war that none of Reed Security is about to lose. So doesn't that sound amazing? Oh it so was, but I'm hear to give warning, it's not the easiest story so be prepared. The twists everywhere had me dropping f-bomb after f-bomb, and just when I didn't think my heart could take anymore, some hysterically funny moments gave me big breathers. So yeah, this is the best story yet, although Lola still has her story coming out, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Chris has to leave Alison, but he won’t leave his brother behind, so he breaks her heart, but things don’t work out and Chris takes Sergeant Mills offer for help before enlisting. Years later Alison and her son, Axel are trapped, Slasher watches her, but she sees an opportunity to get away and take it and head to where Chris is not knowing if he will help her. Chris knows Alison’s voice as soon as he hears it and has to help her, when he finds out that the Blood Devils are involved the team is worried that they will connect her to him, connecting the dots. After talking to Alison, he knows if he had taken her years ago her life would be different now. The realise they have bigger problems now, the Night Kings won’t walk away, and the Blood Devils want Ali and Axel back, which puts everyone on high alert. Alison feels guilty, she’s brought the danger to Chris and his friends and families, the danger becoming real when Kate, Vanessa and Maggie are taken. You hear from all the members of Reed Security when everything explodes at once, the men want their women back and safe and will do anything to get them back and protect them. You see the love that every member of the team has for each other as they band together to fight to protect their families, no matter what has gone on they put it all behind them to work together to save what’s theirs. Sinner wants to play with all the new toys and Knight wants to kill people because he can. Throughout it all Ali and Chris realise that they still love each other and never fallen out of love, but will they make it through everything to have what they always wanted.
What a story! Whiskey is the next installment in the Reed Security series. I highly suggest all the books be read in order to fully enjoy this series. This book has everything I love about this author. There is heat and romance, but there is also action and mystery. I love a mix of both. The plot of this book was good. I liked the whole past lover coming back for assistance. I knew that there would be a lot of history that would add to the dynamics of these characters. I was not wrong. This story really hooked me in and kept me flipping pages until I was done. Alison and Chris are great characters. I really liked getting to see Chris’ protective side. The alpha that came out in him was very flattering. Then you have Alison. She was a great female character. I really liked how relatable she was. The heat in this book was perfect. I really liked how the history between the characters added a layer to the heat in the story. The action and mystery also gave the heat a different twist. The writing style of this story was good. The pace of the story was steady. I really liked how the story was told from multiple points of views. I think that sometimes this might become confusing, but this author did a good job switching between characters and keeping things clear. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend this book and author to others. I have really enjoyed this series and all the characters. Ratings: Plot: 5/5 Characters: 5/5 Heat: 5/5 Writing Style: 5/5 Overall: 5/5
Alison is trying to escape a toxic situation. Our first introduction to her character is very graphic and could be a trigger for some. Chris “Jack” McKay’s past has just caught up to him. We have another character that is very important to their story and his name is Axel.
This is a story that will have you on the edge of your seat. There’s plenty of mystery and suspense to carry this story. I’ve also come to love the business Chris works for. I know that our author suggests that this series be read in order but if you’re a late bloomer like me you can start the series further in and not feel lost. I started four books in and have been hooked ever since. I know that I’ll have to go back to see what I have missed but I’ve already decided that I’m going to continue going forward before I do that.
In the previous book, the author got me to laugh but I was shocked how I had different emotions come out with this one – shows you can’t assume what an author is going to do. There’s a lot of pain with this one so there were points where I could only cringe. With the characters here I got to see what makes Reed Security the best at what they do. I like how they are there for each other. One character that shows that is Florrie – she knows how to kick *ss. Alec shows how this group gets the job done. Happiness came at the end though when I saw that there are at least two more books coming out.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
When it comes to the men of Reed Security, I have not been disappointed!
Chris is freaking awesome and fits in well the alpha males that make up the company. He is independent and totally dominant. But he is also just as deadly and dangerous as any of the others (except for Knight of course!). But what I really liked about him was how quickly he accepted what was being told to him and went about protecting Alison and her son with everything he had.
And Alison, WOW! What her character has had to endure for years shows strength and resilience, and also a willingness to do what she could to protect her son. But now the time has come to do more and it will take all of the men of Reed Security to save them, and everyone else.
The danger ratchets up massively in this book and so does the damage. Vengeance is definitely handed out and punishment is dealt in ways that will leave permanent imprints not to mess with this bad boys, and girls.
The members of Reed Security get their own chance to have a say in this book, not just Alison and Chris. And to me it worked so well to have the different POV’s as each member was targeted in a different way. And I laughed my head off at Chance, but definitely get his irritation about his pillows and bed.
Overall, great story with awesome characters, Danger and drama hit hard and fast in this book and continued to the end. Now I need the next story and I am so happy to see that Lola is going to get her HEA!
I think this is my favourite Reed Security book so far. This story is about Chris (Whiskey) & Ali but we have visits from all the Reed Security crew & their women because when one is threatened, everyone comes together just like a family. There are visits from another series Giulia wrote From the Love of a Good Woman - I have not read that series but I intend to. This book is a tough read. It is gritty and dark, action packed and full of suspense. Chris walked away from the love of his life when he was 17 to join the Blood Devils to help his brother. The Blood Devils kill Chris’ brother right in front of him and tell him to leave. Chris then goes to a military recruitment center. The Marine recruiter tells him he cant join til he’s 18. He advises that Chris needs to work out and beef up. Then he offers Chris a home and help so he can be a marine. Years later Alison finds out her son is going to be forced to kill someone to indoctrinate him into the Blood Devils MC. Alison believes the only way out is to get Slasher to push him so he beats her but Slasher beats and rapes her. After she grabs the money she’s been stashing, grabs her son and runs back to Chris for help. She knows he works at Reed security. Chris is shocked to hear from her but knows he will doe everything to help her. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book

This is another stellar read from Giulia Lagomarsino and it is Chris and Ali’s story. As it brings out all of the characters from Reed Security, I recommend reading the previous books however it can be read as a standalone. Chris and Ali were childhood sweethearts. However, Chris’s brother got involved with a MC. It did not end well for Chris’s brother and forced Chris to leave town leaving Ali to deal with the aftermath. Fast forward seventeen years and Chris and Ali are reunited and Ali has a surprise for Chris but the MC is on her heels as they want her back. This brings about a war with not one but two MCs to attempt to go after the families and holdings of Reed Security. Who will come out on top? Will Chris and the rest of Reed Security be able to protect what is theirs? This is one exceptionally well written storyline that has multiple points of view that the author penned with such artistry to alleviate any confusion as to what was going on. The plot has some darker areas that were handled ingeniously but overall, this is one story of the different kinds of love a person feels for another whether it is the love of a mother to a child or the love of one’s family. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series and cannot wait to read the next book! I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
Ali is abandoned by the love of her life, Chris when she was seventeen. Years later, held a virtual prisoner by Slasher, the man who murdered Chris’s brother, she is repeatedly brutalized, beaten, raped and threatened by him. What a horrible life she endures for the safety of the son she conceived years ago. I really hated the fact that Chris walked away and never once looked back. He put Ali in danger as everyone knew she was his girl. I was really upset reading that part! This Second Chance Romance was intense and deeply satisfying in a totally dark and violent way. Once Chris is reunited with Ali and finds out what he’s missed for seventeen years, there’s no stopping him. When Slasher comes after him and targets Reed Security, the gloves come off and the bloody battle begins. Violent graphic retribution and revenge on each of the members who dared threaten Chris and his family as they are dealt with once and for all. This dark complex and well written dramatic romance was a page turner from start to finish! An emotional and compelling read!!

In this 7th book of the series, a young man named Chris leaves the girl he loves (Ali) to join the Marines and escape having to join a vicious gang named the Blood Devils. The Blood Devils leader (Slasher) takes and marries Ali in revenge (lots of revenge in this book), not realizing later that the son she ends up having is Chris's son (Axel), not Slasher's. When Axel turns 16 years old, Ali and Axel run away from Slasher to Chris (now at Reed Security) for protection, but Slasher and the Blood Devils come after them in revenge, along with another vicious gang. When the two gangs viciously torture three of the Reed Security women, Chris and the security members go after the gangs to rescue their women and have some of their own revenge. They know they must completely eliminate the two gangs for everyone to be safe. The war becomes bloody and vicious. Can Reed Security win this war? Can Ali, Chris, and Axel have an HEA? This, like the others in the series, is WELL worth the purchase price if you can stand all the realistic violence.

I got given whiskey as a Arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
I might sound biased where this author is concerned but giulia lagomarsino as yet again delivered another masterpiece.
Whiskey is the 7th book in the reed security and by far the best book of all the series. Chris was an amazing character in this book. The emotion he showed towards Ali was fantastic. Ali was a strong woman and what she went through no woman should ever go through. Ali suffered bad but she stayed for her son axel. Chris and the rest of reed security got put through loads of trails and they did wonderful they really do protect their loved ones. I cant give a way to much about this book. We get to read about all the previous characters from the love of a good woman. I cried for Maggie in this book. I had to stop half way through because I thought no giulia lagomarsino wouldn't do that to me.
Please don't take my word for it. I highly recommend this book you won't be disappointed. I wish I could have rated it more than the 5 star. I never wanted it to end.
This is an action packed suspense filled second chance romance story.Eighteen years ago Chris told the only woman he's ever loved to forget him.He said he had to join the Blood Devils to help his brother. When he watches Slasher murder his brother in front of him they tell him to leave if he Rohrabacher will kill him.As he's walking he sees a military recruitment center. He tries to join the Marines but is told he has to wait six months till he's eighteen. He tells Chris he has two choices one he can come home to his house where his wife will make good food to build him up and then he will train him or hel L give him twenty bucks and he can come back in six months.Chris goes with the Marine. Now he gets a call that shocks him to his core. He's always loved Alison but thought she was probably happily married with kids. When he finds out Slasher took her and she's been repeatedly beaten and raped he feels guilty.Guilty for leaving her behind. The twists and turns Will keep you riveted until the very last page.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.
Chris is an exceptional addition to Reed Security, fitting in seamlessly with his independence and dominance. He quickly accepts the task of protecting Alison and her son with unwavering dedication.
Alison's character showcases remarkable strength and resilience, having endured hardships for years while prioritizing her son's safety.
The stakes escalate significantly in this book, with vengeance and punishment meted out in a manner that leaves a lasting impact. The narrative delves into the perspectives of various Reed Security members, offering a well-rounded view of the unfolding events. Chance's humorous quirks, particularly his obsession with pillows and bed, add a light-hearted touch to the storyline.
Overall, the story features compelling characters and a gripping plot filled with danger and drama. The narrative builds tension effectively, leading to a satisfying conclusion. The anticipation for Lola's upcoming happily ever after adds to the excitement for the future installment.
I think I am starting to sound like a broken record with my reviews of Guilia's books but seriously every book just gets better and better.. this one was intense and an emotional roller coaster. I couldn't put it down, literally, I walked around the house doing normal daily stuff with my phone in my hand and almost walked into my kitchen doorframe at one point because I was so absorbed in this book. Though I was a bit rung out after finishing and had to go read a few chapters of Irish for some comic relief.. what a ride!!!! Can't wait for more books to come and especially looking forward to Lola when it comes out and seriously just getting more and more curious about Gabe story despite wanting to punch him a few times throughout this one by the end totally loved him and the friendship he found with Alison, kind of reminded me of Sinner and Maggie's friendship but without the grenades lol
When they were teenagers Ali and Chris were in love and thought they would be together forever until tragedy struck and Jack left, and Ali was left in the very environment that caused the tragedy. She has endured brutal treatment for the last 17 years of life all to protect her son. She has finally escaped and has come to Chris for help however she has also brought the wrath of the two gangs following her direct to Reed Security’s door.
The men of Reed Security are not about to stand idly by while they are being attached but will they be able to keep Allison as well as everyone else safe when the violence erupts?
This is a dark and gritty action filled second chance at love for Ali and Chris. Not only do we get to know Ali and Chris better it is always great to catch up with all the characters of Reed Security. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I have read several of these books from this series and I think this is my favorite one. Chris left a life that would have left him for dead if he had stayed but he also left the love of his life behind. He joined the military and moved on with his life. He never dreamed that he would get a second chance with the women he loved. In order to get her back his whole company had to protect her and her son. Ali never dreamed that she would see Chris again but when she had a chance to run with her son she took it. She never thought that she would put Chris and his company in danger. The guilt that she was feeling was over whelming. Could Chris and Ali survive what was happening and would they get there second chance? This book was so go. It's filled with action packed adventures and it just makes you laugh out loud at other times. Don't miss out on reading this book.
What a wonderful book! Ali is kidnapped and forced to live with a brutal gang. Barely a heartbeat after being captured by them she learns she is pregnant with Chris's baby. She survives in an abusive forced marriage for seventeen years during which time the gang leader is believed to be the father of her son. When plans are made to initiate Axel, her son, into the gang Ali is determined that she will finally escape and she risks everything to attempt one more time to get away and run with her son. She calls Chris and begs for his help and protection. Chris never forgot Ali and when he learns he is a father, he and his teams at Reed Security all step up to rescue Ali and Axel. Then the inevitable gang war is declared and things get hot, hot, hot. This book literally has it all: excitement, edge of the seat thrills, danger, distrust and romance. Parts of this book will chill you to the bone and parts will restore your faith in love.
My heart was racing reading this book! I was praying that no one died because I love all the characters in the Reed Security world. Chris and Ali's story is in this book and it was a sad one to read but they get their HEA. And it's much deserved! Chris left Ali when they were 17. He thought he was doing the right thing but it ended up setting Ali up for a new path in her life that tortured her for 17 years. We find a surprise for Chris when Ali returns to his world. He will stop at nothing to keep her safe. This leads to an insane war between Reed Security and two gangs. People we love get hurt and tortured but they make it out alive thankfully. Gabe is one secondary character that I was ready to throttle a few times but he redeemed himself in the end. I'm intrigued to see what becomes of his character. This is an amazing addition to the series and I'm ready for more!
This may just be one of my favorite books in the Reed Series to date. It had action, romance, suspense and just a little bit of intrigue to keep me on my toes for the majority of the book. Since we fully met Chris in Cazzo and Vanessa’s story I knew that I wanted to read a story on him and which would hopefully explain why he was always described as looking like he hated the whole world. When it was revealed just how much of a horrid life he had led before joining the military and then going on to work at Reed Security just blew me away. Insert Alison’s side of the story and how she was left to pick up the pieces after Chris was forced out of town when they were younger.. it was just horrible. I’m so glad we got to hear from a lot of the team in this book and the different point of views really made this story a great one
I don't know how I missed Chris, aka Whiskey and Ali's story, but I'm certainly glad I caught up with it now. This one was a bit different than the previous ones I've read as it not only brought a past love into the story but included the entire Reed Security Team, their ladies, and even characters from "For the Love of a Good Woman", which was rather exciting. Giulia Lagomarsino never lets me down with this series. There's a lot going on in this story. Action, adventure, mistrust, past and future, rivals, humor and we get multiple points of view to the telling. It could've been confusing trying to keep track, believe me when I say I've had to muddle through some trying to make sense out of it, but never with Ms. Lagomarsino. The story flows seamlessly in the telling. All I had to do was sit tight and hang on for the ride.
At seventeen Chris left Ali to save her from a life in a vicious gang. Little did he know he didn't save her at all nor the baby he didn't know about. Now almost as many years later he finds out through a cry for help.
So begins a battle for the company and all of the people and families of Reed Security. There is plenty of action--you don't threaten these guys and get away with it. It won't be easy when the enemy gets reinforcements that far outnumber the teams.
Don't worry there is still humor thrown in but expect some really emotional moments and violence. Never a disappointing read this is no exception. Will the teams come out on top? Will Chris save his brand new family?
While I hated to see the injuries and damage I couldn't put it down and read to the end. Another winning read.
