We left our heroine hailed a hero and on her way home after anhilating the enemy in true Sienna style. Expecting the worst but quietly hoping for the best, she is thrust into an unimaginable situation thanks to the presence of Akiyama.

Back in time to 1999 she is face to face with her mum, grandmother, great grandmother and the younger version of herself trying to thwart a time loop that could change the future, especially her own. On top of that, she is now going against enemies she has previously destroyed.

RJC has utterly smashed it with this one. The level of detail from previous books that goes into this one is unreal. You have to give kudos to his imagination to be able to come up with such a complicated plot for this book. Especially as you realise that the clues and planning were written all along!

I enjoyed the familial aspect to it as it was good to have a different perspective of who they are and what they have had to endure and go through to be the people we eventually get to know. I had always wished we had seen more of Sierra so this ticked the box for me.

Family

This book definitely took on family, four generations no less. I so enjoyed this book. It answered so many questions.

Sierra goes time traveling

In an extended and never fully justified time travel we learn more about why Sienna’s childhood was as difficult as it was and where “the box” came from. She meets her extended family and Wolfe and comes to hard decisions.

Most of the book is an extremely extended fight scene with Miss Sienna showing how tough she is. It all comes down to Sienna proving to herself and others that she is the toughest around. In that sense the book is like watching Mission Impossible - impossible stuff happens as the franchise takes a little too long to wrap up. I have read most of these so far and am committed to going until the end. But, if someone asked me to recommend these I would remind them of how deeply GOT went off the rails in the last season despite fantastic battle scenes. Let’s see if the author manages to spend a bit of time on character development that is nit action driven and not to obviously written as a 45 minute Paramount Plus series.

Flashback

Having got to book 23 of this series is quite a feat but love the characters and this one was slightly different. Not as many characters in it but still packed a punch.
It was great to go back to Sienna’s past before the first book and see what happened like a pre-sequel it all fell into place quite well and so sad about Sierra and what she had to do to keep Sienna safe after this book. You could of cried her sacrifice to work Sienna to be able to get through her years and after her mom died. She had a chance to say she loved her which I think she needed to do. Also she has two new people in her life to help her on the next journey back to being her old self a full turn around.

This was near perfect

In this installment of the Sienna Nealon series Robert Crane takes us on a thrill ride, while giving a lot of background as to how Sienna became the ultimate badass. This series is always very dark and violent, but there is always a lot of humor in how Sienna meets the challenges superheroes have to deal with. This time, however, Mr. Crane gives some very powerful moments that brought a tear to my eye. As stated, there is a lot of violence, some of which is graphic, but no sex, and a little foul language (nothing more salty than you might hear on AMC).

Our poor girl can't seem to catch a break! She is having the most horrendous week from hell with hardly a chance to catch her breath, with a prison escape (Remember #21) immediately followed by a deathly family feud almost resulting in nuclear war (Hero #22) and now, just as she thinks she's about to have a moments peace, she's thrust into another mind-blowing situation.
Another kick-ass episode of the Sienna series, with plenty of Crane's usual pop culture references thrown into the mix, a return of some very familiar faces and some long running mysteries explained. The finale will leave you wondering what could possibly happen next and wishing time would move just a little bit faster.

Just when I think that I know what to expect from an Out of the Box story, Mr Crane goes and produces this.

This is one of those storylines that might just make your jaw hit the floor; that might just make you say "wow". It did for me.

This was such a surprise - in a really, really good way. The author just plays with the reader's emotions like some kind of virtuoso. Over blown praise? I don't know.

All I can say for sure is that for me, this is quite possibly the best in the series. And that is a high bar indeed.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Kind of reworking of the Grandfather PARADOX.

Not only does this book catapult out heroine back in time, it seams to take us, the reader, back to the early girl in the box books.
Old enimies and new threats, with action turned up to 11.
No real spoilers follow but as the name suggests this book involves time travel and wastes no time in piling on on action and adventure.
Rip roaring outing and well worth the wait. Refreshing as well that most of the book is all in one place not 3 plots all joining up at the end of the book. Really enjoyed this one!!!

LOVE - LOVE - LOVE! I am always so amazed at the brilliance of this storyline. The interconnectedness is incredible, and the action is absolutely nonstop (very difficult to put down - thank goodness I'm on break!). Some day, I will go back and read all 33 books again, and I have no doubt I will enjoy each and every one. It is like visiting a ("complicated") family member. I can only imagine Robert's "Sienna" room -- like one of those mastermind's who has names and pictures and yarn thumbtacked all across the walls! So many connections, so subtle, yet so enjoyable and yes, still fresh!

Quite the Unusual Adventure

Wow. Mr. Crane, I had no idea what I was in for when I started this book, but its one of the best yet. Thankful to have so many questions from GITB answered. Ass-kicking and badassery abound as usual, but nothing could prepare me for all the FEELS! Fantastic addition to the OOTB Series. I'm gonna go throw all these Kleenex away. Can't wait for February!

Full Circle

It's amazing how after all this time following Sienna, Mr. Crane can leave me in the feels. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was so happy and sad to learn about the past events that compelled the very beginnings of the first book of Girl in the Box. All of the harsh pain of Siennas life, past and present, are addressed in a way that brings value to the entire series. Looking forward to the future books to come!

Awesome read

This is the best book of the series to date. Learning how Sienna was made into who she becomes is great. The action and situations in this story is heartbreaking and exciting at the same time. I can't wait for the next book. I would recommend this book to any adult reader who enjoys action, humor and emotional storytelling.

This series is amazing! It keeps getting better! Most stories like the one in his particular book are difficult to pull off without being cheesy or vapid. This story is strong and fills in a few questions nicely. Cannot say the ending is my fav because now waiting is harder but it will be nice to read something good and satisfying in the cold month of February!

Less than perfect...

It actually pains me not to give an "Out of the Box" a full 5 stars but I struggled with this story. I missed the camaraderie of Reed and Co, the MPV and banter between characters. For me the time travel was just too much, but I'm hoping this was a gateway novel to a greater plot.

WOW...Just WOW!!

This has been such a ride and I now have a NEW favorite 'Out of the Box' book. Seriously, I cried at the end. Almost as much as I did when Zach died...but I hated THAT book in the series. Going back in time was some trip and the revelations?! Like I said...WOW. I never want this series to end. EVER!!

Exceptional read

Mind blowing stuff from the author, absolutely brilliantly written, we get a look at Sienna’s past and find out so much about it in this book. The author has out done himself yet again and really not ready for this series to end so here’s hoping there’s lots more to come

Good, but needed?

I don't know if this book was even needed in the series, or if Crane needed an extra story as filler for some reason. This book could have changed Sienna's life in more ways than becoming the head of the FBI metahuman taskforce again. The story, to me, just made no difference in the actual series, but into the next.

Answers...Oh My!

One thing I love about this series is that it is so well
planned out. If you have read all of the books up to
now, you will find the answers to things that were
important but not completely understood throughout the series.

Nothing mentioned as a question has been just throw-away lines.
The picture comes together nicely.

What an adventure

Once again a novel full of surprises, emotions, and love. It was a well thought masterpiece, perfectly inserted at the right place within the series. Even though the ending was obvious at the beginning—if you love time travels—the intense action and her growth made sure the novel is human. Perfect!

Definitely another amazing read. Nothing I didn't expect from Robert J Crane. this answered so many questions about Sienna's past, and I didn't even realize these questions needed to be answered until the end of this book. Very satisfied knowing more about her upbringing.

Now we KNOW how she became who and what she is. And why she was raised the way she was. I NEVER expected it to be like it was. Not only intense, it was an emotional book too. I LOVED IT!!! Can't wait til February 2019!!!

Sienna back with a bang.

Best out of the box book since Scotland and Rose. Nice to see four generations coming together and for an added twist some old foes especially Wolfe. Keep up the good work Robert.

Loved loved this book, I was only disappointed to find out that the next book “Cold” won’t be out til March, as I usually wait til I have the next one before I end one so I don’t have to wait. But March isn’t so very far away, but, sigh...

This might be my favorite book of the series so far. I'm a big fan of a well-written flashback/time travel stories anyway. We learn a lot about why Sierra raised Sienna the way she did and I gained a whole new respect for her (I think Sierra did, too)

Sienna goes back in time to help save her younger self. It was good to have her mom in the book again. The mini me version of Sienna was absolutely adorable. It was kind of an emotional read. I see her relationship with her mom in a whole new light now. And so will Sienna…

I think that each book in the series has its own significance to the whole. This was action packed and didn’t disappoint the reader. Thank you for yet another addition to the Girl out of the box series.
