Aria is an author of dark erotic romance. Her heroes are not always immediately obvious, and neither are the villains. Her books often have elements of horror, and the characters at the end of a story are forever changed by the events that befell them. But she always makes sure there's a happy ending, even if the characters have to work for it.

Aria also writes the warm fuzzy romance stuff as Katie Douglas.

Found this on my iBooks the other day, not sure when I downloaded this one... and not sure why I even bothered reading it.... lol
The plot could be great, and has great potential... but only if there was more to the book. It was decent, but not for me.

Khloe:
I sold my womb to save my kid sister. Caden owns me. I have to follow his rules and submit to him in the bedroom until I'm pregnant. He's been through hell and its left a black mark on his soul. As my baby grows inside me, I get closer to Caden, and I start to think we might have a future together. Until a dark secret from my past shatters our illusion.

This was a fantastic read. I loved the story. A very quick read. 5*.

For my first Aria Adams book, I have to say I was impressed. It is on the shorter side. But inside of it is a good story about two broken-spirited people who find themselves in a way that is surprising.

Caden sells things (surprising things) and when Khloe comes to save her sister from a horrible future. When Caden offers Khloe a way to save her sister.

This is a dirty, hot, and interesting read.

Well after reading the blurb for this book I must admit I though the storyline was a bit over the top and couldn't quite see how it was going to be a good book......but i'm glad I read it, it was a really good read, and the story line actually does work and draws you in. I'm not going to give anything away, but once you read the blurb, give it a go..... you won't be disappointed, I know I wasn't and can't wait to read more form this Author as I think they are going to come up with some blinding topics, if this one is anything to go by !!!!!

This book is touted as ‘A Dark Mafia’ romance. You don’t really get much of a glimpse into their ‘mafia’ world, other than I suppose what Caden does to earn money, and even that is quite brief. There’s just a tad more toward the end of the book when dealing with his ‘aunt’, but again, not really much.

There is also just a hint at what Khloe has suffered through since the age of seven, and you do get a little more near the end of the book. The story opens with Khloe trying to find her 14-year-old sister, Latifah, in a seedy alleyway, where she’s been offered by her father. Again, you don’t get much detail.

This story had good bones, and I feel the author could have had a really good novel on her hands, but being just a short story, I didn’t get a feel for the characters. There was so much potential when Caden gets Chloe to agree to an agreement between the two about carrying a baby, and he has to put her in her place. But then for love to be mentioned in what feels like a few minutes of knowing each other, I’m afraid that had me shaking my head. Caden may have felt ‘responsible’ about Khloe because of the agreement, but being a dominant, which is what he’s portrayed to be, that doesn’t sit right with me.

I’m pretty sure I would have downloaded this book when it was offered for free. I can’t honestly remember because it’s been on my Kindle for God only know how long. But with it being just 78 pages, I think AUD $4.10 is a bit much. It’s a pity the author didn’t put more time into this story.
What was written, I feel, was pretty good. Because of it only being 78 pages, I read this story in one sitting.

This novelette had the makings of a very good & intriguing full length novel.

PROS:
I very much liked the premise: dark, edgy, a refreshingly different take other than the usual drugs, sex traffiking.
I liked the overall writing, a couple of places seemed stilted and/or slightly juvenile but otherwise I felt it was very well done.
The characters were both HEAVILY damaged but both had risen above this (in their own twisted ways) to survive.
I was interested in both characters & had my fingers crossed for them & a potential HEA together.

CONS:
This story moved at warp speed & I do mean WARP SPEED.
InstaEVERYTHING.
Although the story's ending was definitive, because of the speed at which 'everything' progressed I felt as though A LOT of the story was just plain missing. This is why I feel this should have been, & had the plot to be, a full length novel. If we had been able to travel a slower path & build up to how things moved forward I would have been on pins & needles greedily reading to the next chapter & the next. As it was, I felt as though this was a fleshed out outline of a novel.
The villians were there & gone so fast if you blinked you'd miss them. They felt tacked on & in a full length novel they could have been chilling.

OVERALL:
If you want a warp speed short read with an intriguing plot, good writing & interesting characters this just may be for you.

A great premise, lots of stuff happening, I loved that my attention got grabbed right from the start. The characters were all so damaged and broken, but they kind of fit together like puzzle pieces. I think there was a lot going on and it could have totally been longer than 8 chapters, so it was rushed and reads fast but would have been even better if there was more detail or resolution. Some loose ends that bothered me, Khloe went to extreme measures to save her sister, but then there is nothing about her sister at all. Like if her father the scumbag would do what he did once, who's to say he wouldn't do something worse next time. Her mom was an enabler, obviously, so she just basically added her sister to the catch and release program. At the beginning she said she worked at McDonalds, but then she is an assistant chef who does all the cooking while the real chef is strung out on drugs in the alley? I don't even have a problem with the instalove thing, it's a thing I guess in some books, but the little facts bugged me. Then we get to the aunt, who just happens to show up and take Caden away just when Khloe's nemesis shows up? Pacing, it's missing some pacing and developmental edits, but the core story is strong and the character development is also there, I just got stuck on the details. I received this book for free in advance and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. It's worth the time I took to read it, it had more good things going for it than negative things.

I think this is my first book by Aria Adams *goes to make sure* Yes, it's the first time I read something from this author.

As main characters go, Khloe and Caden are pretty good. They are people with a harsh past that left them scared in ways that some other could never understand, but they complement each other.

It's a very fast paced story. Not very long but the flow is good so you keep on reading until the end because you want to know what happens.

I do have to point out the predictability of the plot. I know is a short story, is fiction, is dark romance, all of the things but still, it felt a little too predictable at times, at least for me personally.

The romance is there, is good and is done as best as it can be done in such a short amount of time. I can't complain and won't do it, because I enjoyed the story.

I would recommend this book to anyone that likes dark romances but I'll give a few warnings when it comes to the pace of the story and how predictable it was for me.

Bred: A Bad Boy Alpha Dark Romance, by Aria Adams is a modern day BDSM Romance Novella. Chloe goes to rescue her fourteen year old sister who was sold by her step-father to a black market organ harvester, Caden. Chloe strikes a deal with Caden. She will loan him her uterus for a pregnancy so he can have a child in exchange for here sister's release. She agrees.
The come together with extensive emotional, physical, and sexual childhood abuse. They are working thru and using BDSM methods and equipment. During this time to pivotal issues arrive at their penthouse door...both from their past and both must be resolved.
I recommend this novella and if you can get past the BDSM scenes and see how they have sublimated their anger it makes sense. There is a nice HEA that ties up this portion of their romance. I could see this extended either into a full length book or a series. I am volunteering to leave a review.

Oh My God what a book! This is an extraordinarily well written story. It is so completely thought through and such a joy to read. It had this wonderful flow to it and I had a hard time putting it down. Now this a short novella so my review will be short to.
This is Caden and Khloe's story. She is out to save her sister after her step father gives latifah up for his debts. But Khloe makes a different bargain for her womb. To stay with him till she gets pregnant and has his baby. But as things go they fall for each other. Who knew what she ended was a strong domanite hand. To take control for her. And set her free. But when the past comes and takes her will care be able to save her in time?
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too.

Khloe makes a deal with Caden; he lets her sister out of a contract and she will have his baby. Simple, until he stipulates that he will be putting the baby there the old fashioned way, that takes Khloe a minute to process, but for her sister she agrees. Now, she will belong to Caden until she has his baby. Will she be able to last long with someone that needs control as bad as Caden does?

This was a novella, and I finished it in about thirty minutes, so a good lunch time read. This has a very good plot, I just felt that the follow through was a bit lacking. I think the fact that everything happened so fast could be the reason that I feel like stuff was missing. Before you have a chance to process what's going on, it was the next chapter and whatever happened was forgotten. I give this 3 stars.

To save her sister from a bad situation, our heroine agrees to be used as a birth surrogate.

Let's get the warning over first. This is a dark and dirty story. There is real bondage, punishment (spanking and caning) as well as some dirty sex between two people with troubled pasts. If any of this bothers you, don't read this story.

On the other hand, if this is your thing, than I can honestly say you should really enjoy this story. While the characters are messed up, they are solid and real with some very real (and intense) emotions. And the story is well written and works quite well. It even comes with a nice HEA to tie it up (pun intended).

It is a nice short read, but very enjoyable for purveyors of a bit dark sexual encounters.

Highly recommended.

NOTE :
this novella is full of triggers so if you are sensitive and easily insulted I recommend you dont read it.
This is certainly the darkest book I've ever read, it mentions emotional and sexual child abuse, torture & black market organ harvesting....

The main characters khloe and Caden have both been broken as children both emotionally and physically but have managed to overcome their fears, Caden through BDSM and control and Khloe by creating a strong willed and sassy persona.

Khloe is determined to save her younger sister from the clutches of organ harvester Caden and get her back home. Her price to pay for her sisters safety and release is giving control of herself and becoming a baby vessel to the dark and dominant alpha Caden.

Love the opening! It starts with Khloe headbutting a bodyguard and trying to break a door down to get to her kidnapped 14-year-old sister. From the first two pages, you know this is a kick butt heroine who isn’t going to cower. She’s a fighter and not afraid to use her fists and go toe to toe with a bigger opponent, especially when it’s about her brother. I was cheering her on like she was on Pay Per View.

Khloe’s smart. That doesn't mean she doesn't do stupid stuff, though. She does--and she knows it. But, It's stupid, not Too Stupid To Live (TSTL). There's a difference.

Khloe has a sharp tongue and she's funny. She's also not afraid of conflict. Her cracks and snarks and comments are some of the best parts of the book. Not just her, though. Caden and Khloe go at it verbally, and their exchanges and back and forths are entertaining.

Khloe just wanted to save her sister. She knew it may be a long shot but had to try. Caden has always helped people. Letty was sold to him by her father to pay of a drug dealer but the beauty that stormed him home to save her would change things. He wanted to womb, a child. Things seems to be moving along well till someone take Khloe. Big mistake.

Ok, first off it is really interesting. But the story rolls by fast. These two both had a screwed up life. He is extremely dominate and he does have anger issues but he never hits her. It’s more that he needs the control and will not put up with any disrespect from her. For Khloe, she seems to feel something from the start but always remembers this is a contract and nothing more. She too needs to control her temper. Their relationship is explosive. You feel like you are running a marathon with the way these two act.

Khloe and Caden were both emotionally and physically damaged as children by the ones who were supposed to protect them. They meet, connect, and fall in love in a twisted situation with dark undertones.

The author does a great job humanizing both Caden and Khloe. Their past defined them, but did not break them. The BDSM scenes were graphic and edgy, but stopped just short of being a turnoff. They were intense and uncomfortable to read though.

I did like the romance between them and the way Caden seeks Khloe out as soon as he finds her missing. I loved that she gets a chance to avenge her abuser with Caden there to support her.

I have no idea why I picked up this book. I'm assuming that the idea of a "dark" romance appealed to me, but by page 3 I realized there was no backstory, no plot to this, and in the first few pages, no explanation of who was who. In fact, no explanation at all. The first sentence starts out with four letter words - and if anyone knows me, I can't be offended, until an author decides to abdicate good writing in favor of what they *think* is "dark" writing. Nope. Dark writing is emotional, it is internal, it is subjective and it is personal. The first ten pages of this book were nothing at all emotional, internal or personal. They were just poor writing. Needless to say, that's all the farther I got on this before I threw it in the DNF pile.

This author has real potential but the story was just too loosely woven. If there had been reasons why Khloe and Caden fell in love it would have been more believable. His aunt's summons felt contrived as it really had no influence on the story other than to remove him from the apartment. If we got to see that the aunt and Khloe's father were in on it together that would have worked. How did he manage to get to her? Who gave him the information? There was just too much left out. That said; Khloe's confession in chapter four had to be one of the most honest and heartbreaking. Every word she said rang true. It proved that this author could write and do it well.

This is a short novella with a plot that holds potential. Caden is a human organ trafficker and he gets Khloe's sister as payment for a debt. Khloe wants to save her and agrees to be bred by him.
It looks promising but is too short to develop any real suspense or characters. Everything is very instant and clutched together. Puff she agrees and they are in love at once, puff and she is pregnant, puff she is kidnapped and he saves her, the end.
The writing is ok, the plot could be great if there were some more writing, character development, real suspense, unpredictable twists, some real romance...
So it was just an ok for me.

This book is about two broken people. They both have a goal- an agenda. Khloe wants, needs to get her teen step-sister to safety. Caden needs a womb to breed his baby. For a novella, Ms. Adams managed to develop both characters. I felt their desires, their needs, motivation, and pain. This book was angsty, dirty, sexy.... just really good. My only complaint is that it was too short. Ms. Adams is such an awesome writer and I would have loved to see the story and connections between Khloe and Caden have a little longer to play out. Otherwise, amazing!

This is an amazing story, you won’t want to put this book down once you start. Both Khloe and Caden has been through hell and throughout their childhood. It’s amazing that these two can recognize the love they have for each other so early on and a blessing that they find a balance. They probe that family as much as you love them or tolerate them their is a limit and thank the heavens they see and decide other wise.

She takes his offer for giving him a baby to rescue her little sister.
But when he takes her home with him and shows her he will be making a baby the old fashion way with her, showing he needs to be in control.
She finds out she likes it that way.
They get feelings for each other, but how will that turn out with both having a bad past and having trust issues?

For that you have to read the book, which is a very hot read.
Couldn't stop reading.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was really good. It was fast paced and a quick read, making it great for a lazy afternoon. The story of Chloe and Kaden was dark, steamy, and emotional. It held my interest. I would definitely be interested in reading more by this author.

Khloe just wants to save her sister, and to do that she has to surrender herself to Caden. Caden wants something from Khloe and he is not afraid to play a little dirty. This book was short, but it was still a really great read. If you want a quick and dirty book with a few twists and turns this is a great book.

I love reading dark romances as they tend to be more believable to me as I am not a believer in hearts and flowers. I feel you have to go through drama and unhappiness to get to the happy place you want to be. This hot and steamy story is between two people who have had some hard childhoods. Can he save her when she ends up in a bad situation. Great read.

This story felt rushed. The premise was captivating, it had the perfect level of dark, and the characters were interesting. All of those are things that would normally get a five star review from me. I wanted to give this one a five star rating, I really did. I just couldn't because the whole book moved at a pace that I found lacking. I wanted more development in all of it. I wanted more detail and build-up. If you are in the mood for a quick, dirty read than this one is perfect.

4 1/2 stars for this exciting story!!

Khloe meets Caden under some very unusual circumstances. He then proposes the most preposterous idea to clear up a problem between the two of them. They both have anger issues and what Caden wants might be impossible if they can't stand to be around each other. Grab this exciting book today to find out what happens with these two very similar people. Great read!!!!
