The Vitucci Mafiosos #4

Her Mafioso King

Rate this book
Anya Volkov was everything I wanted and nothing I could have.

I was never supposed to love her.
My future has been set in stone since birth, down to who I am expected to marry.
With our inner circle now compromised from my bastard of an uncle, it looked like my future had arrived earlier than expected.

Cristiano Vitucci walked away from me without a backwards glance, deciding power was more important than me.

I accepted that and moved on.
Now he was back, ready to take over for his sick father, and no longer someone else’s husband.
He says he wants me back. He tells me he still loves me, that he never stopped.

But how could I trust him when there is so much more at stake this time?

1.5 stars so rounded off to 2. One of my favorite tropes; second chance romance. Mafia. Badass ladies. Cute plot moppet. All the great ingredients were there. Add in a fast paced story. But it contains plot holes and I just didn't relate to the main characters.
The review contains spoilers from this point forth.
The MC's were in a relationship when the H leaves the h. She assumes there was some reason but doesn't think it could be another woman. Within a week H is married. Apparently his long dead mother (whom he loved but someone whom the h said gave her chills - H's sister insinuates that the lady didn't have much of a soul - whatever that means) wanted him to marry her best friend's daughter. This OW is the daughter of an Irish mobster so H basically marries this woman because he wants to gain control over another territory.
He and OW are not close but apparently his wife pokes holes in his condom supply and gets pregnant. He stays away from his son most of the time as he doesn't like his wife. His wife proceeds to physically ill-treat his son. H remains unaware until he sees her strangling the little boy and he kills her.
In the meantime, h comes back after 5 years and from the beginning, when she sees her friends daughter, the reader becomes aware that she probably has a miscarriage or a dead child in her past.
H's son is terrified of women but connects to the h who comes to H's house to read stories to the little boy who starts to trust her. H is there to cast her lingering looks, wait for her each evening and eventually they fall in bed. From there, he proposes marriage, she resists and he suspects something buried in her past.
H proceeds to spill his professions of love in front of a teenager whom h is close to and who likely knows the truth. The teenager shouts at him but eventually spills the truth as she feels that h has not recovered and likely needs H's love and care to do so. h had lost her baby when she was 5 months pregnant and had a breakdown after that as she was alone.
H finds out and comes crying to h and she sees him; a big mafia boss crying and on his knees in front on her and forgives him instantly.
In between there are scenes of h being badass and everything.
Why does H marry someone his mother picks out esp. when there is no pressure from his father and sisters to do so? Apparently his family is not even present at his wedding
Why does his wife ill-treat the child? Was she mentally ill?
Why was H hungry for territory? Esp. when he came from a powerful family anyway
Why doesn't h ask H the reasons he never told her he was going to marry someone his mother had picked out for him?
Why was the reasonably intelligent H willing to give h, whom he loved, up to marry someone he had not got along with the few times they had met as children?
These are some plot holes.
h was a good character; an assassin and she makes a believable one. I also admired that she was a loving and giving woman who, even after her own tragedy, connected to H's son; she becomes his hero which I loved. H's little boy is a sweet character and the scenes with him and h are great and touching.
The weak point is H who is portrayed as a mafia boss but comes across as a beta character. Perhaps his best quality is his love and guilt towards his son for not knowing how OW treated him.
For me, this could have been better; the plot holes were small and should have been easily explained while the H could have been a better character. IMHO the h forgave him too quickly and never asked him to explain why he abandoned her. Also, her supposed bestie was very happy to spill all in front of the H; this scene, I think, was what killed the book for me. I felt H got absolution very easily. It would have been better if H would have worked for h's trust and perhaps the ultimate test of trust would have been for her to drop her mask and share about their baby's tragedy herself. I just needed one good scene between the MC's where they dropped everything and really talked

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.

Wow!
Where's that badass full of attitude from the previous books?
She became a doormat and entirely without personality. Takes back the guy who dumped her like yesterday's trash too easily.
He deserved an hour in the torture room to learn to respect our Zeroine.

I always get angry when I read a novel and the male lead screws up and the woman forgives him. Not so in this novel. Christiano has to grovel to win his way back into Anya's heart. Yes! An enjoyable read for lovers of this genre.

wtf...? i will start this review just like this.
the first 10% is confusing for me because i didn't remember all the details about the previews books
i wouldn't minded if she actually put a little of reminding of how they began to be toghether.

He loved her so much but still marryed another one because of his mother wish WHAT THE HELL?????? then Anya didn't even know nothing about why he is leaving her, finds out after...heck...where is the LOVE HERE? nope nope nope!!!!!!!! and thennnnnnn 5 years later he come back in the same city as hers with his child (his wife died) and again wtf????????
i mean if you leaved anya for this shit he could at least told her the situation (wich doesnt' seem forced at all he just didn't give a s**t about Anya ) and then we find out his deceased wife maked holes in the condoms to get pregnant, really? come on if he hated her etc why the f**k he goed with her, expecially if he said in the mafia you can't get divorced why the hell did he do it anyway..
.and that child ,i know he dosn't have any fault but i can't never accept to see a relationship with a child from another marriage involved i simply CAN'T, i'm sorry but i can't. not in this situation.

i'm actually reviewing this book while i'm still reading it because i don't want to forget some steps.
i'm starting with 1 star and i will see while reading it if the story some how gets me involved or make me change my mind but i don't think so.

omg now you tell me a 4 year old can read? AHAHAHHAHA omg. NOPE :))))
how can he also don't be afraid of anya imediatly, and not with his family only with his father?

ok at 35% i fell literally in love with the kid and his relationship with Anya ,but gosh i really wished she had another relationship when she was without Cristiano, i wished she maked him madly jealous !!!!she got with him to soon , i wished she maked him work for it a lot damn :( he don't deserve her after all , and pour Anya it's heartbreaking that she lose the baby :S ahh why all have to happen to her, i wish he would have more reasons for the leaving but seemn not, yeah he is sorry but...not with valid reasons i give this story 3 stars because i really love Anya. she deserved a diferent man, a man who fights for her..she don't deserve to be the second choice also see everyday Ryan, a reminder of his mystake. Damn, i wished this book was different, a few changes here and there and would be perfect :(

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel and even how to express it. To say I'm not happy with this story, seem too harsh. And it's kinda feels unfair. But... I wasn't happy with Cristiano and his stupid fuck up. I wanted to strangle him for it. I wasn't happy how still much power he had some years later over Anya and her resolve to keep him at distance. I wasn't happy she didn't made him bleed, the same bloody tears she cried after he left her behind. For me forgiveness came too easily. I guess, I'm holding grudges.
And then....
And then that scene came. I already guessed it but it still wasn't less powerful. And yes, I cried. I needed to stop reading for a bit to calm myself down. Did this changed my outlook on this story? Yes, a bit it did. Like I said, it was powerful moment. But there still is 'but'.
I was happy that Anya got her HEA, but even at the end of the story I couldn't forget Cristiano mistakes, so he didn't win me completely. So, I guess that's where my issue is with this story.

Amazing series

This book was heart breaking and not just for the main characters Anya and Cristiano. His little boy broke my heart. Not gonna lie, i cried.

Cristiano and Anya should have been together from the beginning and just been happy, but nope. Cristiano married someone else, for his dead mother. Idiot wasted 5 years of his life, hes just lucky Anya was the amazing person she is and eventually forgave his stupid ass.

You should read this series, they are all amaazing books, this was my favorite. Love Terri Anne Browning!

I really liked this book, after the disaster with the previous book i read, i needed something that i will be captivated. I read the previous books in series and i liked them, definitely, Adrian and Victoria's story is my favorite but Anya and Christiano's story is definitely more emotional. I loved Anya, she is such a great heroine, strong, brave and independent. She made Christian sweat to bring her back and she did not give up easily. The writing style is good. All in all great book i really enjoyed reading.

This is one of my favorite series by TAB and Anya has been one of my favorite secondary characters I have been waiting to read about.

Sadly this book was boring!.....sorry but I just could not like this book and I did try!.

There was too much inconsistencies that nothing about this book felt real to me

How could Cristiano who is in love with Anya, just leave her and marry someone else without talking to her about it?. Anya knew he was breaking up with her but she also does not say anything? Come ON!!!!

Cristiano then marries a woman we never heard about because of a promise to his mother so he can become BOSS. He must have liked this woman plenty to have sex with her so she could not of been all that bad. Not even his family was at his wedding, we are supposed to believe that Cristiano who is the heir to the New York mob just leaves and marries a girl and becomes the boss in Chicago! He then leaves Chicago to come back to New York to take over as his dad is ill, so what happened to Chicago?

When Anya comes back we immediately know that she was pregnant & lost the baby, there where too many clues. I just could not see past the fact that here is a grown woman( an assissin and total badass) confiding in a teenager about her issues!!!

Oh and said teenager shouts and screams at a Mob Boss and like a girl he takes her disrespect!!! Really!!!!

Cristiano's son Ryan who is scared of woman because of this mom, suddenly sees Anya and becomes close to her where she can now read to him, and within a week tuck him into bed !!!!

I just never saw Cristiano as an alpha bad ass hero in this book, I liked his grovelling and felt that Anya gave in way too easily and quickly. The whole been on his knees bit outside was poorly done, no self respecting alpha would do that, his alpha card would be revoked!!. Scarlet had bigger balls than Cristiano

Anya I liked how badass she can be one moment and then sweet and caring the next, pity we did not get to see her in action.

Over all an okay read for me. With the many plot holes I could not enjoy this book, pity as this could of been a great book as the main characters have been so well developed from past books.

This book... GAH! I Just. Can't. Even. It drove me bananas a lot of the time but I couldn't put it down!!

I loved Cristiano & Anya together but am incredibly sad at how things went down between them for seemingly no good reason.

So, so disappointed in Cristiano. He turned out to be as big of an idiot as Victoria was in her book. Why the f*ck they couldn't take after Scarlett, I'll never know. His reason for leaving Anya made absolutely no sense. It felt so random. Like he mentioned later on, "I never should have left her. My loyalty should have been with her back then, not with a mother who had been dead the majority of my life." Damn straight you should've been here, you a**hole. Even if you thought you had to go through with the marriage for some screwed up mafia/loyalty reason, you in no way had to have sex with your only-real-on-paper wife! It's grr & eww all at the same time!!

Oh, Anya... I had a mess of feels for this woman; Happiness (that she's still as kick-butt as ever), sadness (at her loss & at having to see the adorable product of Cristiano's union with the demon on a daily basis), anger (that she let Cristiano in again because frankly, I wanted her to cut ties with the d*ck altogether) & aww (because she's so darn cute with Ryan).

And the stuff with Scarlett's & Victoria's health... Why did that even have to be added to this book? It was all made out to be this mysterious, big thing & then no real answers were given in the main part of the story. Instead, we got a quick little wrap-up in the epilogue as to what happened with them. It felt like just another #random plot line.

So yeah... Overall, it's not my favorite book in the series. (Ciro & Scarlett reign supreme in my heart!) I liked seeing all of the characters make appearances but just didn't understand why a lot of things went down the way they did. I felt like I was missing information or something & that's a crappy feeling to experience as a reader.

OMG!! If you haven't acquainted yourself with Terri Anne Browning, where have you been?! I cried so much. So emotionally heartwrenching.
This is Cristiano and Anya's story.
It's 5 years later. When Cristiano walked away from Anya to marry someone else that his deceased mother approved of and promised her that he would to unite the families. But finds out later the woman he married (but does not love) is an evil piece of work. And does what he has to do.
Anya was devastated when Cristiano just walked away from her so easily. So she moved away back to St. Petersburg, which isn't a place that she particularly likes. But does it to move on. And deals with some heartbreaking times.
She finally decides that it's time to move back.
Only to find out that Cristiano is also coming back to take over as his Father is unwell.
Anya, not wanting anything to do with Cristiano she avoids him, but develops an attachment to Cristiano's son, who is traumatised by events leading up to them moving back. Anya senses this and confronts Cristiano. He tells her. And she's determined to heal this little boy who is the image of his father.
Cristiano who is still deeply in love with Anya, knows something that Anya is keeping and demands to know what secrets Anya is hiding. He finds out and is heartbroken in what she's had to go through.

Will Anya learn to trust Cristiano with her heart again?
Can they get through all the heartache that's between them?

Holy cow are you ready to be rocked. In this book we get Cristiano Vitucci and Anya Volkov's story. In each of theses books in this series we have found that Cristiano and Anya seem to be inseparable in this book that all changes. Cristiano made a promise to his mother to marry a woman he can't stand. So he leave Anya and goes to Chicago to fulfill his promise. Anya has never been a doormat or a weak woman but Cristiano leaving has affected her in ways she never saw coming. 5 years later Cristiano is back but he is not alone he has a son named Ryan. Things are not as they once were though. Anya want's nothing to do with Cristiano or so she keeps telling herself. Cristiano is home because his father is dying and he needs to take over. However he also has another couple of problems. His son needs to be protected from his own nightmares, and he is still in love with Anya even though she trys to ignore him. Can these two find their HEA or will outside forces make sure that never happens?

Wowza is this story amazing. This is another amazing hit by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will grab hold of you from the first word and not let go till the very end. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Her Mafioso King bows down to her❣️

The story we have all been holding our breath for is here! The conclusion to Anya and Cristiano’s love 💕

Essentially even though both of these characters are bad@sses, they live in a life and culture that isn’t something us “normal” people would understand, unless you’ve been immersed in that life! Cristiano’s unwavering loyalty to his deceased mother puts him on a path, that ultimately creates consequences of magnetic proportions that affect not only him and Anya, but also those around them even if it’s to a slightly lesser degree! Yes, Anya is an assassin and as demonstrated in this book she doesn’t hold grudges, she works them out on those that caused it. The fact that Anya is different after being without Cristiano for a few years, is not surprising but a reconciliation between them is something she’s not going to give into easily without Cristiano working for it😍

Loved this story and how it melted my heart but also brought tears to my eyes at certain times❣️ I hope we get more from this series as I love all these characters😀

I was pulled into this story right from the off, that is wear I stayed until I had read every word that had been written, all the while I was watching it play out in my head.
There are surprises all the way through the book, some you may see coming and others you won't, some are large and some are small, but they all make the book the awesome read that it is.
There are a few twists and turns in the story.
The emotions that the characters go through in the story, can be felt some actually pull on your heart strings, I found I laughed, I got frustrated, I wanted to bang heads together and yer if I am honest I even cried a time or two.
I loved every single thing about this book, this series has gone into my go to file on my kindle as I know I will read it again, I have to get them on audible yet.
Terri Anne Browning is one of my all time favourite authors, no matter what genre the book is I am reading.

Something Different

First I want to say that 99% of Terri Anne Browning's work is awesome, love her books exceptionally well written, which includes all the prerequisite action and drama and awesome love story that most of us reader's anticipates before her book's are even released. On Her Mafioso King, I was really disappointed. First I can see if they went their own way for awhile, but her losing his baby, and he has a child with someone else, that was upside down ,I know a women would have severe problems with that, she would always be reminded of the child she lost , I could see if she had their child and he had the child from his marriage, ect, she would have enough emotional distress from him abandoning her for this women, then being pregnant on top of that,if she lost the baby ,she would never forgive him! And never get back with him, anger, bitterness ect. She should have had their child.

I consider this book is one of my favourite books . Sometimes you ask yourself can you be happy again , can you become whole again after your worst ,or can you forgive and start allover again? Those questions hit me like a storm after I finished it. Anya broke my heart twice ,she lost the love of her life because he was ambitious and selfish and second when she faced the worst loss ever alone. I was speechless when I realized this is Anya as a young woman not the assassin . I wish he suffered more or she made him struggle more and more because she gave him an easy pass from my pov . This book was short it should be longer because Anya deswrves more I wish the writer could write another book for this couple because their life won't be easy I recommend this book but you need to know Anya first to get the picture of her life

I wish I could give this more then 5 stars!!! WOW....what a fantastic conclusion to a great series! I have read all of this authors works and I think that this one is in the top 3! Christian and Anya have such a fantastic chemistry and love for each other. The unparalleled love Anya had for Christian's son Ryan was beyond words. This book had so much raw emotion throughout the entire book that I could not put it down. This book tied things up but still left you aching for more. I am not an audible fan but I think I might just reread this book in audible version because I felt while reading it I was living the scene and can only imagine how hearing the angst brought to life would be.

This was my favorite book in the series!

I loved that Anya walked the walk and talked the talk! She didn’t just roll over for Cristiano and she sure didn’t take anyone’s shit!

I wish Cristiano would have used his brain for a minute and not just run off a married a stranger. He deserved all the crap he got for doing that!

My favorite part of this book was Ryan! Without him Anya would have walked away. He was such a sweet little boy and I can’t wait to see more of his future!

While I don’t like mafia, this was my favorite in the series!

The 4th book in the Vitucci Mafioso's really had a strong effect on me.
I truly loved this series Mafia is always exciting and a bit scary to read, but beyond the blood and gore the men truly know how to love their families and those they consider family.
Cristiano won my heart after he explained how his marriage, I really thought the man is a hero, blood on his hands or not. And Anya I would never want her angry at me

Cristiano is coming home to take over the family business – he’s bringing with him his son Ryan – Anya is coming home too, only she has no idea that Cristiano is going to be there. What happens when she falls in love with Ryan and she’s the only one that he wants, when he as nightmares because of what his mother did to him. Will they be able to work out their differences and make a life together or will what Cristiano did to Anya years ago keep them apart.

Finally

Anya and Christiano’s story completes the mafioso books and it was awesome! When Christiano leaves Anya five years ago he broke her. Now with his father being ill and him having to take over he is back. Not only does he need to make sure he can lead but he wants Anya by his side. But they both have secrets and Anya has a wall up around her heart that he will need to break.

I enjoyed this series so much.

The H & h were fuck buddies and then he drops her suddenly & marries ow.
The H kills his evil wife coz he catches her abusing their son. 5yrs later H & h meet.
So... if the ow wasn't evil and his son wasn't so accepting of the heroine, would he have gone back to her?!? Nope! absolutely NOT.
And while the H was shacking up with the ow playing house, the h went through a miscarriage and remained celibate. Yeeeahh... so much for love, pfft 🙄!

Loved Christiano and Anya's story. Especially after all the build up to it. We definitely got to see a softer side to Anya here and I loved it. All the side stories with Christiano's sister and father broke my heart. Anya and his relationship was complicated and there was history there but I am glad they found their happy ending!! Great read I cannot wait for what is next!

Loved

I think this is my new favorite by this author. I knew Anya's story was going to be interesting, but I fell in love with it. She's so independent and strong, yet feminine and caring. She doesn't need a hero to save her because she can take someone out on her own. Her story was amazing and I loved the entire thing! Check out this mafia series if you haven't read it yet!

I don’t know if this is the end of the books about this amazing family, I hope not but if it is, Christian and Anya was the perfect way to end it. Their love was brutal, fierce, imperfect and perfect all wrapped into one, just as each of them are. Add in the perfect little man named Ryan and this story was meant to leap off the page at you and capture your heart and leave you begging for more.
