Mia never had a chance to tell the hybrid Tycho how she felt before he died. Now, she clings to thoughts of escape and rescuing her sister from the clutches of a vicious criminal who sees her as little more than a doll. With a forced marriage on the horizon, it’s hard to hold onto her few slivers of hope.
Tycho has been beaten, drugged, and separated from his destined mate Mia, but his captors have underestimated his intelligence and his determination. It isn’t his first time as a prisoner, but he’s ready to ensure it’s his last.
Breaking free is only half the battle. A desperate gambit to rescue Mia’s sister will force Tycho and Mia to put aside their passion and trust dangerous allies. They’ll be forced to ask themselves what price they’re willing to pay for freedom.
Madison currently lives with her husband and two children in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, Arizona. After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, Madison was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she had stated on more than one occasion how much she hated the heat, it was an odd move. But it seemed her hatred for sub-zero temps and ice, or really the things that ice could do, won out in the end. When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle. Luckily he is also an author and able to share in all the activities (and chores) special needs kids require. Madison has a full schedule of releases planned for 2014 listed and updated on her blog: http://madisonstevens.blogspot.com/ Newsletter Sign-up: http://eepurl.com/OX9r5
Tycho has just been getting by for a while, treading the water of life as he was trying to figure out how to get what he really wanted... freedom.
Mia, faced with only bad choices and options has been doing the best she can, but things are coming to a head, and if something doesn't change, she'll be trapped forever.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read builds on characters we first met in Rollo, and moves the overarching arc forward.
Tycho and Mia's story seems to pick up right after Nikon's but I think how we were thrown 'too much' into the story, if that makes any sense. It's a lot of background that was just implied/told to the reader rather than us discovering it through reading. It's almost as if we're missing out on a book between Nikon and Tycho.
I would have enjoyed this a lot more if we could have seen any of the relationship/story before where the book began. To put it simply, it seemed rushed and too short.
I have been following this series from the beginning, eagerly awaiting each new book. The stories are so engaging, they pull you in and don't let you go until the very last page. These are not your typical shifters but it doesn't distract from the engrossing story that Madison Stevens spins. Tycho and Mia have really been through it to be together but the book brings the win home. Great job Madison.
He was helping another hybrid when he was shoot with some kind of drug that dropped him very quick. Now that he has come to he has been playing like he is still out of it till he can plan his escape. He has to get back to Mia and save her from the monster that’s holding her captive. The mister has her sister and is going to make her marry him. So enjoy another great read and see how it all turns out !!
That was a great ending to the evil Horatius Group. I really liked lone wolf Tycho and his vestal Mia. I'm wondering if her sister Mya will get a story. Maybe in the spin offs? Maybe with Maximus?
