Desert Sheikhs #3

The Sheikh’s American Fiancée

Rate this book
Christina is in the tiny country of Kattahar for one reason and one reason only—she’s looking for a potential donor for her adorable niece who’s desperate for a kidney. While cleaning out her parents’ attic, Christina stumbles upon a family secret: her sister, Kasha, is adopted and her birth mother, Sabrina, a potential kidney donor, is living in Kattahar. With her world thrown into a tailspin, Christina heads to Kattahar to seek Sabrina out. What’s not in her plans is becoming involved with anyone, including the sinfully hot man she can’t keep her eyes off. But when he asks her to be his fiancée, she’s more than a little intrigued.

As desperate as Christina is to find her sister’s birth mother, Dakaric, King of Al Qalb, is just as desperate to keep power-hungry, crown-seeking women from distracting him from his goal of making his country prosperous. Christina just happens to be the perfect woman at the perfect time. She’s only in Kattahar for one week, just long enough to pose for some PR photos and prove his “fiancée” exists. If she agrees to the ruse to keep the gold diggers away, he’ll help her find Kasha’s mother. The only hitch in his plan is his growing attraction to Christina, who is beginning to look more and more perfect in every way.

But desert sand isn’t all that swirls around them. Secrets and lies threaten their blossoming attraction before it can take root. Now Christina and Dakaric must decide if they want their temporary engagement to become an everlasting one.

If you enjoy a quick, romantic read featuring a sweet, compassionate heroine and a royally good guy in more ways than one, you might want to consider this new release by Leslie North, which is book 3 of her Desert Sheikh’s series. It is a stand-alone that isn’t bogged down with more steam than substance, folks. In fact, there is only one graphic, smexy scene towards the heart melting conclusion.

You really feel the instant attraction, chemistry, and sweet, genuine, romantic connection between these two destined to be together lovebirds. You will have to put up with one knucklehead, hot head reaction that causes a tad bit of relationship angst drama. But not to worry. Dakaric, the hero, does exactly what is needed to make things right.

Though I haven’t read the previous books, I sure hope to in the near future.

Title: The Sheikh’s American Fiance, Series: Desert Sheikh’s (Book 3), Author: Leslie North, Pages: 141, stand-alone but part of a series, respectable/good guy hero who is not a manho, sweet/kind heroine who has been celibate awhile, two week time frame, only one very steamy scene near the end, HEA, no cheating, no love triangle, no OM drama, OW wants him and tries to cause trouble.

Book 1 - The Sheikh’s Royal Seduction
Book 2 - The Sheikh’s Unexpected Protector
Book 3 - The Sheikh’s American Fiancee

Christina and her sister Kasha had been meaning to clean under the slated roof of the attic for months. Every since their moms death two years ago. But Kasha was now about twenty weeks pregnant and if it didn’t happen now it was never going to happen. Hope was three years old and Sasha’s daughter and Christina’s niece. Hope was very sick and needed a kidney donor to save her life yesterday. Sasha and Christina were going to sell their childhood home as Hope’s medical bills were piling up with no donor in sight. Christina nor Hope’s dad were a match for Hope. Hope’s energy [eve[ has dropped in recent weeks, her kidneys were failing. Christina sent Sasha down to the air conditioning with
Hope and Christina would keep working on the attic. Then she finds a tin that shows Sasha was probably adopted and their parents had never said a word. But that meant maybe they could find different people to try ro match Hope with. She lied to Sasha which she wasn’t good at. She told Sasha she was going to a librarian’s convention and since Christina was a librarian…..But actually Christina was planning on going to Katihar to look for Sabrina - Sasha’s biological mother. Dakaric’s best friend and confidant was his childhood friend King Zatar - a modern king in the neighboring kingdom of Katihar. Dakaric was King of Al Qalb. The Press pounded Dakaric daily for updates on his marital situation. He had invented a fiance. As the people demanded a queen. Dakaric had only been king for two months. He was not raised to be royal but his uncle gave up the throne. Dakaric looked at the work-in- progress patio. The inn had consumed the majority of his life - first as his childhood home then a never ending project once his parents passed away and left the peaceful and popular inn to him. Dakaric had been raised a commoner but had to step up. Stepping up brought with it a heavy learning curb and a lot of frustration. Zatar told Dakaric to be out with a woman as though she was his fiance then that would give him some time at least. Leak a little something to the tabloid. At least daily someone came to take a look at the famous Kattahan Inn. After being the feature in a variety of widely circulated international magazines he was used to the curiosity and wonder. A woman speaking English said she had heard of the inn and hoped she could stay for two weeks. Dakuric had dated an international model. The CEO of a hair care product company start, even a politician’s daughter. But this woman- he might as well be trembling at the foot of God. This stranger, this foreigner two minutes in and he was ready to cast aside his long held rule that stated no fraternity with the guests. He was the boss, maybe he could make an exception. Christina thought about how hot this man was who was leading her to her room. Then he mentioned he was the owner. Christina told the man of her discovery of her sister’s adoption and Hope’s need of a kidney. He said he may be able to fight. Christina said she would help Dakaric anyway she could. As he was willing to help her. Christina goes down to find about lunch and Dakaric tells her he needs the favor now and introduces Christina to a woman named Tersa as his fiance.
Excellent book and I loved it. But Mrs North always puts out excellent books. I loved Christina and Dakaric together and how they interacted. I loved the plot and pace. I didn’t want to put this down. I loved how close Zatar and Dakaric were. And also both kings. I loved how Christina was willing to do anything to try to help her beloved Hope. I also loved that Christina was willing to help Dakaric’s people in any way she could at the village that had been damaged by a sand storm. I could find nothing to criticize in this book happily. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

This was a decent romance. It was quick, lite, and simple to read. There were some editing errors, and the story was missing the fillers, details and polish to make this a really good book. But the writing was decent if simple and the story was cute if you don't try to pick it apart. For example, all of the Middle Easterners in this story sounded very Americanized. I didn't feel this story was in any way authentic. We were told these people were Middle Easterners but that was as much as I felt was given to make me believe it. Otherwise, I feel these people could be from anywhere USA. So, if you don't scrutinize too hard and just go with the flow, this was a decent, quick read romance.

Her niece needs a donor desperately otherwise she has no chance of survival. But when she is checked to be a donor they find out that her sister is not really her sister but adopted. Whilst going through their dead parents loft Christina, a librarian, finds a photo of a woman just looking like her 'sister' and a name plus the name of the country of Kattahar. She's never been there and to try to find a possible donor she goes there without her sister's knowledge as she has enough to worry about. There at her hotel she meets the most gorgeous man, Dakaric, King of Al Qalb [but he doesn't let her know who he really is]. The hotel, like the man is amazing and he makes out that he's the manager! But Dakarik knows he needs to marry and have an heir but he is doing his best to dissuade women from throwing themselves at him. In this we must include his personal assistant whom I detested lol He persuades Cjhristina to act as his girlfriend but very quickly girlfriend becomes fiancée! How are they going to get out of this mess and can Dakarik really help her find family to help her niece? He's a man of his word and absolutely gorgeous so Christina agrees to help him. I did not like the 'tricks' that were played on her by a so called official and I thought that the ending was superb. A first class storyline by the best selling author Leslie North. With such depth of details to make the characters both believable and 3-dimensional as if they were real. Wonderful dialogue and I thought Dakarik and Christina were perfect for each other. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Definitely recommended

This is the kind of book I like to read when I am tired and I do not have all day. It is a fast read with a happy ending. This kind of romances are often completely unrealistic and this is one of them. I mean imagine an Arabic country with champagne and gala like in a Sisi movie? But if you forget about that the story is not that unlogical. The female heroine travels to a far away country when she finds out her sister is adopted and originally hails from that country hoping a family member will be alive to be a kidney transplant for her niece. In the meantime in that country the king has hinted he has a girlfriend. While making up the story he describes that girlfriend as American. When the heroine and the king meet he offers his help finding the grandmother of her niece but asks her to pretend she is that American woman for two weeks.. While most of this kind of stories are overdoing the bedscenes this one has a story and hardly any sex.
So if you like some light reading and a happy ending this is one for you.

I was given a Free ARC by Netgalley and this is an honest review

3 stars out of 5

I think these kind of romances could improve with a little bit of real world cultural input. Drinking champagne, walking around in a tanktop being culturally sensitive because she is not in shorts, covering shoulders (but not head)?

Christina and her sister are cleaning out their parent's house to sell when Christina stumbles upon a diary indicating her sister is adopted. Christina's niece is in desperate need of a kidney transplant and there could potentially be more donors. The only problem is Kasha's birth mother was in Kattahar.

Christina heads to Kattahar to find Sabrina. When she checks into the inn, she finds a sinfully hot man running the in who asks her to be his fake fiancee. Dakarick, King of Al Quaib is desperate to bring his country into the modern age and make it prosperous. Everybody is more concerned with when is he going to get married so he creates a fake fiancee. Christina is a perfect solution. A beautiful woman to pose for photos and prove his fiancee exists.

As secrets and half-truths threaten their blossoming attraction, can Christina and Dakaric discover they want a real engagement with an everlasting love?

This was a great ending to the series. I liked the fast-paced, interesting read. My only wish was that the book was longer and we knew what happened to Christina and Dakarick.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you!

***ARC was provided to me for a fair and honest review***

Overall rating: 4/5 A great ending to the series!

Heroine (Christina): 4/5 She is a loving sister who will do anything to find her sister’s birth mother, even play the part of fiance to the king

Hero (Dakarick): 4/5 He is King of Al Quaib and is desperate to bring his country into modern times as well as ensuring its prosperity.

Plot: 4/5 Christina need to find her sister’s birth mother due to her sister needing a kidney transplant and people of her familial tree would be a likely match. Once at the inn, she finds an insanely hot guy who asks her to pretend to be his fiance for the press in exchange for helping her on her mission. Can the king and his fake fiance complete their mission in time to save her sister? Can they keep up their relationship purely for the press or will real feelings find their way into their hearts?

Personal Review: I loved Christina’s commitment to her sister and the gradual love she feels for Dakarick. It was an excellent end to the series and if you haven’t already I would read the other two stories first but this can be read as a stand alone.

Just as all of Leslie's series are, the third book is just as good as the first of that series. You will love reading the story of Christina and Dakaric. Christina has to travel to Kattahar after learning that her sister was adopted. She is in desperate need of a kidney donor for her niece. Now that she has found secrets of the family when cleaning the attic. Now she is in search of Sabrina, her sister Kasha's birth mother for a potential kidney donor for her niece. Dakaric offers to help find Sabrina if Christina poses as his fiancee for the week. In order to keep power hungry and gold digging women away, but he finds that Christina is becoming more and more perfect in every way the longer they are together. Could they make a life with each other forever?

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 3rd book in a series. It reads well as a stand alone. It was not my favorite of Ms. North's books. It is pretty out there, as in car fetched! This is not to say that I didn't like it but for those of you wanting realistic romance- this would not be for you.
The cultural mistake Christina makes is sort of silly! Who stands in a receiving line and doesn't notice that no one is doing what she was advised to do! Also for a family strapped for cash, spends a lot to go to a far off country on what could be a wild goose chase! Regardless, I found it amusing, and maybe I rolled my eyes at some cliche parts but still an entertaining way to spend an hour or two when it's raining outside! I give it a 3!

This is the third book in the Desert Sheikhs series.

Christina and her sister Kasha and getting their family home ready for sale to pay for the medical bills for Hope who is desperate for a kidney transplant. When cleaning out the attic, Christina stumbles across a small tin box with documents and photos that lead her to Kattahar and on a journey to find a woman named Sabrina who she believes is Kasha's true mother.

The journey is unexpected and Christina finds herself attracted to the Innkeeper Dakaric. Unbeknownst to Christina, Dakaric is the King of Al Qalb and best friend to King Zatar.

With the King's help the whereabouts of Sabrina is discovered but unfortunately she has passed and the situation is becoming critical for Hope to find a donor.

Thanks to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Can the American woman be his queen?
Leslie is one of my top 10 authors and her sheikh stories are my absolute favorite! Catherine goes to Kattahar to try to find her newly discovered adopted sister’s biological mother in the hope she is a match for her ailing niece. Christina meets the inn’s owner, Dakaric, who just happens to be the King of Al Qalb. Dakaric needs a fiancée to avoid the women wanting to be his queen, so he can concentrate on helping his country. Dakaric offers to help Christina find her stepsister’s mother, if she poses as his fiancée for her trip. As they spend more time together, could it be more than just pretend? But Dakaric’s PR advisor interferes in their blooming romance? Will they have their happily ever after? You have to read to find out.

The Sheikh's American Fiancee, the third in The Desert Sheikh's series, and did not disappoint. I loved this one as much as the other two. Christina is looking for her sister's birth mom, to help her sick niece. In the process she meets King Dakaric who is not your typical King. Christina and King Dakaric has a great chemistry from the start, it went from fun and flirty to hot and sexy. Fantastic story line, perfect characters with a flow that keeps you turning the pages. You can defiantly read this story alone, but with the other two novels just as amazing, I would suggest read all three! they will not disappoint. An easy 5 star rating!

This book is the third in the series but you don’t have to read the others to know what’s going on. These two meet unexpectedly and she’s thrown into being his fake fiancée, but she’ll do anything to save her niece, even give away her heart. He’s such a sweetheart and you can tell he’s infatuated immediately, and as they bond, their love shows through the whole time. Of course there’s always a person causing problems and this story is no different. I cannot wait for more!

What happens when two desperate people find a way to help each other out, but then find there might be more. When Christina starts her search for her sisters birth mother, she never thought that she would need to pose as the fiancee of a man who wants more for his kingdom than a money hungry woman. Working together they may find there is more. Leslie is a great writer that pulls you into the story and the characters lives. I love the adventure as well as the love stories.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Fun read as we see Christina head to Kattahar when she finds out her sister was really adopted and there is hope for a donor for her niece.

A little mystery, lots of drama, and hot romance make this a fun, quick read and you get to see Zatar and Alex from the first book.

Typical man oblivious to a scheming woman adds drama to this romance, and along with the HEA, Hope gets her donor and new family members.

Loved reading the fabulous and fantastic romance story. Christina's niece needs a kidney transplant and no one in the family is a donor. Christina finds out Kasha, her sister, was adopted, and her mother, Sabrina, lived in Kattahar. While Christina is in Kattahar, she meets a devastatingly, handsome man, Dakaric, King of Al Qalb, who says he will help her and he needs her to pretend to be his fiance'. Read the highly recommended and wonderfully written love story.

A good book for a television series.

With Leslie North as the author, this story would be great for a television series. Dakaric and Christina are the lead characters and they are the best characters too. You will really enjoy this book as you discover the other characters.

A sweet, light read.

Christine goes to Kattahar to see if she can find a kidney for her adopted sister. She meets Dakaric who offers to help her. I like the characters and plot. This is a stand alone story in a series. There is no cliffhanger.
