Business analysis (BA) is an important business operation, and with some coordinated effort, it can become an efficient and valuable business service. This book takes you through the creation and management of a BA service, from setting strategy to recruiting business analysts, to continuous improvement, through to useful supporting tools and technology. Top tips, case studies and worked examples are included throughout.
In some sections this book reminds Babok but with the crucial difference - this book is easier to read and understand. Partially, this is because of a huge number of different visualizations(e.g. tables, diagrams, drawings). The most useful this book will be to those who are only started to manage business analysts or are about to start. Special attention paid to standards, performance measurement and personnel improvement approaches. Especially appendixes are very useful and by revising them before the main content you will definitely get the idea described in the book.
Maybe it is not the best thing I have ever read, but definitely it’s one of that kind of things
I found this to offer a good level of insight for how to approach Business Analysis as a service. It’s clear the authors have put a lot of thought into this book, and they covers a wide range of topics.
This won’t teach you many techniques (as that’s not the purpose of the book), but it does provide lots of guidance for how an organisation can foster a community culture of business analysts, where continued development is sought. There are a couple of tepid chapters, but for the most part I found the book engaging and have several tabs in it for future reference!
