This is the first book in the Devil's Boneyard MC series.
Josie I spent an amazing three days with Jackal before he disappeared, back to his club, the Devil’s Boneyard. He’d made it clear what we had was a temporary thing -- he never wanted the picket fence and kids. I was fine with that. Then I faced the scariest thing ever. Telling my big brother, Tank, a Dixie Reaper, I was pregnant and alone at the age of nineteen. He wanted to go after Jackal, but I wouldn’t let him. I wanted this baby, and I knew Jackal wouldn’t. I never expected to see him again. Funny how fate has a way of surprising you.
Jackal I’ve thought about Josie often since I walked away from her over two years ago. When I’m finally back in Dixie Reapers territory, I knew I’d look her up, see if we could have some more fun. I never counted on the little girl glued to her hip, or the fact the kid was mine. So I did what I do best. I ran. But now I want something I’ve never wanted before. My family. Because Josie and our daughter, Allegra, are exactly what’s been missing in my life. I just have to do some groveling and hope she’ll forgive me. Easy, right? I’ve never had a woman tell me no.
Figures the one I want more than anything might be the first to send me packing. But when she gets an unexpected visitor who threatens her and our child, I’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe. Now that I’m ready to keep my woman and kid, I’m not letting anyone take them away.
Harley Wylde is the International Bestselling Author of the Dixie Reapers MC, Devil's Boneyard MC, and Hades Abyss MC series.
When Harley's writing, her motto is the hotter the better -- off the charts sex, commanding men, and the women who can't deny them. If you want men who talk dirty, are sexy as hell, and take what they want, then you've come to the right place. She doesn't shy away from the dangers and nastiness in the world, bringing those realities to the pages of her books, but always gives her characters a happily-ever-after and makes sure the bad guys get what they deserve.
The times Harley isn't writing, she's thinking up naughty things to do to her husband, drinking copious amounts of Starbucks, and reading. She loves to read and devours a book a day, sometimes more. She's also fond of TV shows and movies from the 1980's, as well as paranormal shows from the 1990's to today, even though she'd much rather be reading or writing.

Not rating, just adding my thoughts here as to why I refuse to read this book. I had such high hopes for it based upon the blurb, but nope, not spending my money on yet another book where the heroine is celibate while they're apart, because, of course, she's now a single mom, and the zero is with others. But oh, it's all good and Josie will probably be ecstatic to learn, after they're reunited, that he may have "gotten his dick wet a few times after leaving her, but he always felt empty afterwards and eventually stopped." Well, stop the presses, we've got another saint to celebrate.
Spare me. I'm so tired of this plot being written as romance. This book disappoints me and I never even opened it. Thank you to the reviewer who saved me time, money, and frustration by mentioning the lack of his, because I'm not calling him a Hero, he doesn't deserve it, character.
If it wasn't for him sleeping with other women after being with Josie, I wouldn't hesitate to hand over my money to buy this book, but since that isn't the case, I'll save it for another.
These thoughts in no way reflect on the author's talent but instead on my personal preferences, and that's why I noted this information, so others like me can avoid it.
2.5 estrellas No fue mi favorito muy rápido lo perdono y esta línea arruinó al H para mo gusto si no existiera en la historia me hubiera gustado mas. " I’d gotten my dick wet a few times since I’d parted ways with Josephine, but it always left me feeling empty. Eventually, I’d stopped trying to fill the void with nameless women. I hadn’t had sex in nearly two years."
Porque hacerlo celibato por dos años pero no al inicio no tiene sentido hubiera preferido que no estuviera con nadie mas después de la h . Sobre todo porque ella solo estuvo con el H fue su primero y durante dos años y medio no tuvo a nadie.

How I managed to miss Jackal and Josie's story of the Devil's Boneyard MC series, I don't know but I'm so glad they had their own HEA with their sweet daughter, Allegra.
Jackal and Josie take you on an action packed ,emotional, hot and steamy read full of twist and turns that you may not expect. You will laugh, almost cry and fall for these and the rest of the guys as you read it. Can't wait to read the next.
It's all fun and games until the double lines appear. Josephine "Josie" Baker and Eric "Jackal" are quite the pair. Sure, he reacts poorly to life altering news initially in this MC crossover story with the main characters coming from Dixie Reapers and Devil's Boneyard Motorcycle Clubs. I have to admit to loving how he goes about rectifying it.
As for Josie, she's a force to be reckoned with, and I LOVE it! She's takes nothing from no one and gives better than she gets. When her past comes knocking, I love how she rallies her friends, even if the MCs, aren't on board with it.
If you've read anything from Harley, you know to expect the heat. I have to say that this DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! They get up to plenty of naughtiness from plenty of angles. 💜🔥💦
I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrator, Umi Markkanen, continues to deliver worth listening to narration.
This was too much. They say a couple of sentences to each other before he whisks her away to a romantic crappy hotel room for 3 days. She’s never had sex before and he’s talking about doing anal and sticking a finger in her their first time. She gets kidnapped for no reason and everyone just seems to magically forget it ever happened. The h gets pregnant but doesn’t tell the H, hiding from his club every time they visited her brothers clubhouse for two years! Finally the beans are spilled (and STILL not by the h) and literally both clubs are pissed at the H for not “stepping up” when he LITERALLY DIDN’T EVEN KNOW! Their little girl is sick and is rushed to the hospital. When the girl falls asleep they have sex in the freaking bathroom of their hospital room and WITHOUT PROTECTION and they’re basically like “yeah wouldn’t be a bad thing if we got pregnant again.” Later back at the house the little girl is watching tv and h simply turns the H so his back is to the girl (still in the same room) and starts to give him a handjob then pulls him into the next room to give him a blowjob, no shut doors or anything. There’s a convoluted threat to the h and she freaking calls her FBI/DEA agent friends to meet her at the CLUBHOUSE. Surprise surprise they both wanted to date her back in the day and aren’t shy about showing their interest in the present. Then the threat was wrapped up in a nice little bow and that was it. Listen, I know this is short and you can only develop characters and plot so much in so little time but there was too much stuff going on. Just concentrating on their relationship and the babies health issues and them figuring out how to work together would’ve been so good. I really like this author and her age gap MC novellas usually so I think this one was just a one off for me.

so this was a bust , it is not often I stop reading a book because I dont like it
I started with a 19 year old who stomped her feet because she did not get her way , a brother who could not care less his sister needed his help to mc's who are friends , she leaves with a devil boneyard (Jackal) is on the pil is basically a virgin sleeps with him for 2 days gets pregnant
because he mentioned he did not want kids she keeps the pregnancy hidden from him and his mc , who regulary came visit (not the guy but the rest of the mc)
every guy in the reapers mc is mad at jackal for leaving Josie pregnant and alone yet he did not know she was pregnant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he finds out he leaves my guess shocked and then she gets mad ! this book was a waste of my money
Josie, our FMC is the sister of Tank, a member of the Dixie Reapers MC. Jackal, our MMC is a member of the Devil’s Boneyard MC and is a wandering Man Ho-Ho-Ho. They meet when she is having a rather dramatic moment at the Reapers’ clubhouse, and slip off for a weekend of passion. Fast forward two years and change and Jackal wanders in to the Reapers’ clubhouse, where Tank immediately punches him in the nose.
Turns out that that Weekend o’ Passion reaped (hehe) an unexpected benefit and Jackal is the unknowing father of Josie’s sickly little daughter. Jackal had been very adamant to Josie that he didn’t want children when they had the Weekend o’ Passion, so she decided not to tell him about the baby. They work out their relationship, have zexytime, and weather a health crisis with their daughter before a late book trafficking plot and a HEA.
Almost all of the action takes place with the Reapers, so this is only a Devil’s Boneyard book in that Jackal is a member of that club. Triggers include violence, threatened S.A., discussion of trafficking, language, explicit zexytime (which uses the P word and is about a 4.5/5 on the heat scale), and kidnapping. Tropes include One Night Stand, Secret Baby, Reformed Man Ho-Ho-Ho, Age Gap, and Surprise Pregnancy. I liked this story, loved that there was no third act kidnapping, and would give it a 5/5.
Listening to this audiobook was a good experience. Umi Markkanen was the narrator and she did an excellent job, as always. I could listen to that narrator read the traffic report and find it entertaining. She does a nice job with male and female voices, and she is clear and easy to understand. I’d give her a 5/5.
Josie is a bit of a wild child but it's mostly an act. She doesn't have the best home life with her mom. Her brother is there for her but he is busy with his club. One night she visits him at the club desperate for his help. That is where she meets Jackal and spends an amazing couple of nights together. Jackal then leaves without a backward glance to head back to his club, not knowing that Josie is carrying his baby. Two years go by and he can't get her out of his head. Circumstances bring him back to the Dixie Reapers territory so he decides to look her up. Surprised to find her with a little girl on her hip, he makes a scene and leaves. His club helps him get his head straight and he heads back to claim his woman and little girl. But will Josie forgive him and give them a second chance? Oh my gosh, it is so fun when Harley Wylde's guys put their foot in their mouth and sometimes follow it with the other one as well! Josie really had a rough time with her pregnancy and her brother and the club supported her in every way. Jackal has a lot of making up to do and he is lucky Josie didn't make it too hard on him. As always, I really enjoyed my time with the guys from Dixie Reapers and Devil's Boneyard!
Josie meets Jackal when she goes to the biker club her brother belongs to. She sneaks in anyway this is where she meets the gruff man. Jackal gives her a proposition she can’t refuse. Jackal was not the settling down type his club did not claim women like other clubs. He dies feel a pull to Josie but he just wants to have fun with her.
When he sees her two years later things have changed for her she now has a young daughter. Jackal is in shock and what dies he do run again , but he gets his act together and goes back is it too late? Josie did not tell him about his daughter was she right for doing this. Then Jackal has to find out that Josie had a tough pregnancy and almost lost her.
Jackal has some severe making up to do. Not only does he have to make up but Josie’s father is back and part of a biker gang that’s into human trafficking and they think he may want to sell Josie. This story just ended way to fast for me but I’m looking forward to reading Scratch’s story.
This is Jackal and Josie's story. Josie is the little sister to Tank, another mc (different series). Jackal and Josie have 3 nights together before he heads home to Florida. Two years later, the other mc needs more hands to protect an old lady and Jackal volunteers to go. But when he arrives he realizes everyone is hostile to him. He decides to have it out with Josie but realizes he is a Dad. Scared off, Jackal returns home to Florida but his Pres kicks him in the a$$ and Jackal buys a home and readies it for his new family. Then he heads back to Josie to fight for his family. But Josie and Tanks dad shows up. Turns out he is a bad dude associated with a really evil mc. Can Jackal protect his new family? Can he convince Josie to come home with him with their kid?
Very good book Hot scenes and some damger but no torture or anything in this book (unfortunately). But still a good short read. I enjoyed it.
A fast, fun read with drama prompted by a familiar rival gang—I can’t say there’s anything to dislike here. I really enjoyed seeing a couple of rival clubs come together to protect one of their own, and bringing in law enforcement was fun.
There was just a hint of suspense and action, overall it was a fast, sweet story with misunderstandings promptly resolved. Would love to read more in this world.
Motorcycle club / bikers everywhere. Fast-burn. Secret baby. Miscommunication. V!rgin FMC. Age gap. Tr4fficking. Suspense. Rival clubs. Second chances. Instalove. Found family.
Overall: I think I’m officially a fan of Wylde’s MC romance, will seek more out for sure.
🎧 Audio: Absolutely perfect narration and sound quality. This book has a single narrator but manages to sound almost full-cast. Excellent. 5 stars.
This is the first book in the Devil’s Boneyard MC series, and it definitely sets the tone! Josie and Jackal’s story had me hooked right from the start, it’s got that raw, emotional punch you expect from an MC romance but with enough heart to balance out the grit.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator Umi Markkanen was fantastic! Her pacing, tone, and especially her male voices were spot on, she really brought Jackal and the other characters to life. It made the whole story even more engaging.
I really liked that this book wasn’t just about the steam (though there’s plenty of that!). There’s a solid plot, real character growth, and a believable emotional connection between Josie, Jackal, and their little girl. Jackal’s struggle to step up felt genuine, and Josie was the perfect mix of strength and heart.
It’s steamy, a bit wild, and full of that “found family” vibe I love in MC romances. My only small complaint, I wish some of the emotional moments had gone a bit deeper, but overall, it was a great start to the series.
Sometimes it takes something life changing to show a man what he really needs in order to have a life. Jackal and Josie thought their one night was enough-that was all he was willing to commit to. What Jackal doesn't know is that he gave Josie a keepsake to remember him by. When he finds out that Josie not only had his baby, he's going to have to fight to earn his way back into her life and the life of their baby girl. Josie's brother Tank has been Josie's main support along with the club and when Jackal comes back she's not sure she wants to go for another round and her daughter has needs she can't just ignore for the sake of a man like Jackal but deep down Josie can't deny her heart. This book was a non stop ride and well worth the read. Get the kleenex
No matter what Umi Makennan reads, it is always good.
This is the first time I have read (listened) to anything from Harley Wylde, but I like the style. It reminds me of Marteeka (hhmmm???). The simplicity of the story and the fact that they truly deal with serious personal issues says a great deal about paying attention to yourself and your feelings.
I live how Jackal was willing to step up and admit he was wrong and never laid blame. I think Josie recognized she was wrong in her action, but she was young and took Jackal at his word. I also think their daughter needed her father, and that may have been why she was so sick. Children pick up on stress and pain.
I am looking forward to more The Devil's Boneyard and the Dixie Reapers...and especially Umi!!!!
Josie wild child is an act. Her home life is not brilliant . Her brother owns a club. It is there looking for her brother she meets Jackal and the two spend an amazing couple of nights together. Jackal then leaves back to his club, not knowing that Josie is carrying his baby. Two years later go by and he can't get her out of his head. fate brings him back to the Dixie Reaper. It is then he sees Josie and toddler and it all comes together. He storms out leaving her again.
Really great story. Jackal and Josie had a three day rendezvous and she ended up pregnant, but Jackal had said that he didn't want children, so she kept it to herself and went to her brother, Tank and stayed with him. Two years later, Jackal comes back and it takes a while for him to get his head and life straight, so he can get his Josie and daughter Allegra to move back home with him. Some other twist and turns throughout. Happy reading.
Visiting his sister club, and taking off with the baby sister of that club for a few days has consequences for Jackal. Granted he has been kept in the dark and when he returns to help with another situation he realises what he has missed and lost. Suddenly he needs to reassess his whole life. Then there is another surprise on the way, but he has his woman by his side and the clubs agree to remain talking, the bond strengthened between them.
I knew I’d love to hate Jackal in Bull from the Grim Reapers! Every time you come out with a new book I don’t think it get any better than the last, and you always out do yourself. I grew to like Jackal after I no longer wanted to punch him in his junk! LOL! And Josie was the bomb! Can’t wait for Scratch‘s story!
Once again Harley has written an amazing story. I loved how everything turned out and it was nice to see Josie in a different light rather than the bratty girl I read about it Bull’s story. Jackal kind of had me ready to deck him in the beginning but by the end I loved him as well.
Definitely loved this first book in this series. Jackal had me ready to strangle him but he definitely redeemed himself. Josie has transformed into a completely different woman than she was during her appearance in the Dixie Reapers series. This book needs more stars and I have already recommended this to some fellow MC loving ladies.
I liked jackal but after reading most of the Reapers series, I kind of want more from her books. I wanted more groveling!! These books have so much potential and Harley is SUCH a good writer, but she always speeds things up and make it faster. PLEASE give me the same type of book but like 50-100 pages longer!!! Still recommend reading anything from this author
I actually read this one after reading the newest released #6 and liking it enough to read the series from the beginning.
The author's writing it very good. I didn't see any glaring errors. The shallow depth of the characters is par for a short read. These would be great if they could be 25-50% longer so more could be fleshed out.
Jackal and Josie are a hot couple once they get their act together. They have a short affair and Jackal leaves Josie with a surprise she never bargained for. So when years later he comes to see her he get ps the shock of his life and runs, again. But once he pulls his head on straight he is determined to win her back and save her from her past.
This is a great first book to this series. I always wondered what happened with Josie and Jackal. Jackal had some this he needed to deal with but once he came to his sense he did everything in his power to protect Josie. So glad they had their story. Can’t wait to meet more of the Devils Boneyard. I totally recommend this book
I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. I have to say Umi Markkanan does an excellent job presenting these characters. She really brings them to life. 5 stars for her.
Jackal and Josie's Story is very good. Surprise baby. A tough mama. MC alpha. Danger. Complications. Proves to be a wonderful father and bf. Very enjoyable.
A quick k read. Jackal finds amidst one of her temper tantrums, and it turns both of their worlds upside down. A second chance romance that was a really good read.
Hacker ran off with Josie Tanks sister 2 years ago and he's back. But will he except all the changes and secrets that Josie has. Another great series begin in this newest spin off
