Three wonderful books about a little town in Texas and all the wonderful women who run businesses there and how the shop each other and their community.
Books 1 to 3 of this series in one book, and I loved them all. A story, even with romance thrown in, doesn't need to have lots of steamy sex scenes to be a good read. In "Secondhand Secrets", Darcy comes back from a life of glitter in the big city, as she has inherited her grandmother's small antique shop. She decides to continue with the shop, but when her ex-fiancé turns up, the new budding romance with the friend of her youth, Ramsey, seems to be in jeopardy. "Blessed Arrangements" tells the story of Lila, owner of the flower shop, who relies heavily on wedding to keep her shop afloat. When her egoistic sister moves in with her with her little son, and a competitor opens in town, she has to learn how to fight. And if that wasn't enough, there's this really nice firefighter who only saw her in her more clumsy moments. "Inn Dependence" shows us Sammi, who has completely shut herself in her little shell after caring for her sick grandfather for two years, and has nowhere to go. When her aunt, the owner of the bed and breakfast, invites her to come and stay, she takes her up on her offer. The budding romance between her and a youth pastor is threatened by his dangerous past. Simple stories, perhaps, but very well told, and passing on the message that with the help of God, you can overcome most obstacles, or become strong enough to accept them. Very likeable protagonists, a sense of humour throughout all the narration and the dialogues, good plots make these books a very enjoyable read - like snuggling up in a warm blanket on a cold evening.
This was the first book in this Miss Main Street Box Set. It kept my interest and it was well written.
Darcy Norman spent summers with her Grandmother when she was young. But Grandmother died a few months ago and Darcy was left with her gran's antique shop in Texas. She lives in L.A and she does not to give up her Gran's shop so she is moving to Texas to run the shop.
She runs into her old teenages boyfriend, Ramsey since he lives only down the street where Gran's Apt is.
She runs into a new resendent who wants to buy her shop, but Darcy is not going to sell!
She has a few runs in with Vera Greer and decides to stay where she is, her shop is doing very well and she even hires her old buyfriend's mother to help her run her shop.
The two of them stop Vera Greer from buying the shop and everyone is happy with the results, a win-win for everyong involved. o Good book and I was able to read it in one day and I was abl to read it in one day.
Book 2 Blessed Arrangements by Angela Castillo
This is the final book in this novel.
I enjoyed reading these books.
Lila has been in her flower shop for two years now. And has been friends with the people in town for time.
Wish I could find this wonderful town and move there! Yes things are bigger and better in Texas, she got the weather right too! The characters are awesome, entertaining, exciting, and Christian! The details make you feel right at home! There are wacky and wonderful adventures in all three books! You feel like you have stepped right into their world! I loved the animals especially the Potbelly pig, (not but a Humongous hog) that thinks she is a person, the baby goats, the deaf Dalmatian, all real to life pets and their wonderful owners. Each book relates to each couple with different problems who don’t let tragedies in their life hold them back! They let go and let God! Very refreshing and enjoyable I can't wait to spend more time in Wimble, Texas! Loved it !!
When I picked this out, I wasn't sure if I'd read more than the first book. I'm happy to say each book was connected to the others but in such a way none of the MCs was a brother or sister. Each of the heroines was so different from the others, as were the heroes. I also appreciated getting to know the Main Street Business Ladies better in each successive book. They're a sweet bunch, but strong and feisty. Also, the faith element was well done. These characters were either learning about faith in God, going to church, and/or praying. When characters live their faith, I love reading those kinds of stories. So if faith-filled, sweet, clean romances are your thing, you'll probably enjoy this set.
What a great series. So full of God’s love and grace. The characters will draw you in and make you want to set on the porch and drink lemonade out of a mason jar with them.
I enjoyed these three stories very much. The need for editing and formatting is the reason for the four stars. The characters are well written, and the setting is easy to visualize. The romances are sweet, and Christian values are woven through the stories.
This story kept me enthralled the entire time. Sammi and Grayson are so supportive of each other and compliment each other’s weakness in such a beautiful loving way. So many reminders that His Plan for each of us will happen inHis time.
This book set is great for tweens to fifty somethings! All of the stories are very touching with characters that are relatable. I am glad I took the time to give them a chance.
These stories were lovely about small town business women. I would have given them 4 stars but felt the endings were a bit weak.. may look at more books by this author.
Good stories, but uses a corrupt Bible version and doesn’t reconcile with the doctrine of repentance. Typical girl and boy meet go out together, get married stories. Good character depth.
Thank you so much for taking me to this town. I feel like I live there and cheered each of these ladies along during the everywhere Thursday business meeting.
