Florence Linnington stumbled upon writing historical romance at a young age, and has never looked back. What drives her to keep going at her writings are simple: joy and peace.
Florence's novels strive to bring characters to life, be they having a strong personality or an unassuming nature — it is this mix of disposition that makes novels a pleasant read.
New to discovering my mail order bride books?
You can start reading any of my books in any series — that's right, any one of them as each story is a standalone read even if they are in a series. You will not get lost; you can still immerse yourself in the story 'universe'!
13 year old MJ has a crush on Jasper Chapman. He however, doesn’t seem to know that she exists, which at this point in their lives is understandable as he is 10 years older than she is. As a grown man, he rarely runs into her and barely knows her name. Shortly after accidently discovering that Jasper doesn’t seem to consider her attractive, a heartbroken MJ and her family move to a farm in the town of Concord.
10 years later, following the death of her grandfather and learning that he had signed a document that gives ownership of the farm to someone else, MJ and her grandmother make arrangements to return to Pathways. They will be staying with a farmer by the name of Michael Samson, who will be marrying MJ and providing the two women with a home once again. He is a good deal older than she is, but not having any other options, what else can they do?
Before this happens, MJ again meets Jasper. She is no longer a child, and he is quickly infatuated with her. But being an honorable man, how can he even consider trying to win a woman who is promised to someone else? And why is it that she seems to dislike him so when they haven’t even run into each other in the past decade?
The most recent book in the Seeing Ranch series, this book is as entertaining as it’s predecessors. I would have liked to see it run through one more round of editing, to try and catch a few more of the typos I ran across, but the story itself was one I greatly enjoyed. It wasn’t your typical mail order bride story, but I found that to be part of the appeal of this book. I enjoyed the twist of seeing MJ as a girl who is infatuated with Jasper and then seeing their roles reversed when she is an grown woman who does not appear to like him, let alone still have any sort of feelings for him. I enjoyed this book just as much as I have the previous books in this series. I think others will as well. I would recommend reading it if you enjoy mail order bride tales.
Jasper and Mary Jean had a most unusual courtship. They knew each other's families more that ten years ago. She is quite a bit younger than him and she holds a huge grudge against him. Nadler doesn't even remember offending her as a young teenage girl. She has been hurt deeply by a former beau and can't seem to be able to overcome that offense. She still loved him and he has grown to lover her, but neither can or will admit it. Will they ever admit and realize the happiness they both so desperately desire? This is a good story and great read.
MJ as a child loved Jasper but he was an adult. Until she heard him agree with someone that she was ugly, then she despised him. Jasper liked MJ but she was just a smart mouthed kid. Ten years later she came back to the same town as where Jasper lived to be a bride to a neighbor of his that she didn't even know. Jasper couldn't let that happen so he stopped it from happening but at what cost? I loved this story and can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Seriously, the story IS good but the female protagonist needs to have some editing aka give the [figurative] poor girl a break. No one can be that angst driven and be believable or more importantly interesting. Her inner and outer dialogue became tedious, repetitive and cringe worthy. Hire an editor. Allow your characters a voice but not endless monologuing.
MJ has been through so much in her 23 yrs. She cares for her 80 year old grandmother. 6 months prior she lost her grandfather. She becomes a mail order bride to a man in his 50s so her grandmother will have a home. She sees a man she loved years before and had said she would marry him. So many twists and turns and 2 near death experiences later. You have to read straight through. So hard to put it down
This story tells how you will do almost anything to help a loved one when the need arises. This was a great read of the way life can bring on situations that you never expected . With an outcome that you never imagined when you rely on Gods plan and not your own.
Looking for a new author? Look no further Florence Linnington will keep to up reading.
MJ and Jasper, two of the most stubborn people i have ever read about. I wanted to climb in the pages and shake them. They made me mad and made me cry. Great story and the first i read by this author, I will be looking for more books by Florence Linnington.
In this book I met a new author, Florence Linnington. The Bride in this story has known the man she is to marry since she was a child. Through various twists of life her situation changes for the worst. I can't tell you much more without spoiling the story. Read and enjoy I did!!!!!!

This is one of the best story how an young girl can.overcome her.is trouble to seek.love.what.life has stored.for her.the ups.and.downs.she.knew.that at.earlly age.whom.she.wanted.and.still.had.problem of.trust she.learnt. To trust and.laugh
This is The second book of this series I have read. I was very disappointed in this one. The female main character was was an unlikable character. I felt no sympathy for her and found her to be a nasty self centered character. Casper deserved a more caring partner.
A fascinating look at life in Worming and a heartfeltb look at love.
A story of a young girls misconstrued idea of duty over love the life of a hardheaded women trying to always do the proper thing in life. Her only concern was. The care of her Grandmother after a bad deal selling th e ranch left them both homeless and broke.
Book 10 in unwanted bride and her desolate suitor.
Jasper and Mj finally got married. Mj has always thought she would marry jasper when she grew up She always thought no one could love her think I will like to read more of this series.
A Well written Mail Order bride story. A small twist changes the lives of a young lady and her grandmother. The twist involves a young man from her past. A good read.
I have not read a book from Me Linnington that I haven't liked. She writes good clean stories. I can't wait for the next book. I'm hoping it will be Logan's turn at romance.
I did not want MJ for Jasper. Throughout it all she was a brat. Jasper went through a lot of trouble for her and it was never enough for her to believe in him. The story was good but she is definitely one of those characters you can't stand.
I voluntarily chose to review. Jasper and Mary Jean's story. I actually liked the story... A little to long and drawn out for my taste... MJ is just a tad bit insecure... I would read Florence Linnington again.
Very well written story about a family that has to endure heartbreak and put the pieces together again. Would highly recommend this book to everyone that enjoys a great read.
I almost reached my limit with MJ. She stretched Jasper 's manly pride and understanding. I got tired of her reasoning but still wanted to see she and Catherine have a home. I stuck with it and so glad I did.
MJ declared she would marry Jasper when she was 13, then her family had to move away. Now she's back at 23 (10 years later) and he's the 1st person she sees as she is about to become another mans mail order bride. You will enjoy how this story unfolds!!!
The book is a really good example of how sometimes we women and those men we love just don't speak the same language. I enjoyed the ups and downs of Jasper and MJ's romance.
If you like it when couples bicker and misunderstand each other, then this is the book for you. I ended up skipping through it alot, because there are over 600 pages of constant bicker. Maybe more people like that in a book but I found it depressing and boring.
