I cannot tell you how much I have loved and enjoyed this lovely little series
It really has come far and beyond, we see so many characters grow into such important and powerful people. Some who have gone astray and some who do not know where to turn

But Amel and Raolcan will always be in my heart. They have grown the most in this series, especially Amel. She is no longer a cripple who only follows orders around and tries to obey everything from the authorities. Amel now realises that sometimes to do good you need to disobey, risk your life and try your hardest to save as many friends and allies as you can

In this book, we see how Amel has been captured by Starie, Raolcan is injured, and Leng is also captured along with Amel. But together they could find a way to stop Starie and convince the people that she is the false Chosen One.

We also learn a lot about Starie in this one, why she is considered the Chosen One and the powers she has attained.
We are so close to end, and yet it seems so very far away.

Our characters will have to face their biggest enemies but also themselves. For some, this battle will be a challenging one

I cannot wait to see what Book 20, the finale of this series will be like. I'm sad to hear that it I'll be over soon for Amel and Raolcan but at the same time I'm joyful to see that our characters will deserve a happy ending, where we will see them live in peace

I’ve been addicted to the Dragon School series since I jumped into the first book and am super eager to see how everything comes together. However, the last few books in the series haven’t wowed me in the same way the early books did. In fact, the last few books have received three-star ratings from me. Although I have given this one a three-star rating, also, it was the closest I have been to handing out a four-star rating in a few books.

Dragon School: First Flight, book one, sucked me completely into the world – it was so much more than I’d expected, and I couldn’t wait to get more. Dragon School: Initiate, book two, sucked me in even deeper – it showed me there was more to the story than I’d originally thought, ensuring I would pick up the next. Dragon School: The Dark Prince, book three, was a very important book in the series – it may not have been my favourite book, but it was vital to the overall story. Dragon School: The Ruby Isles, book four, continues to move things forward in a wonderful way – it may not be my favourite of the stories, but it is another important addition. Dragon School: Sword, book five, was another brilliant read, adding more to the series – it was also the book that reminded me why I was following the series in the first place, pulling me back in after a short hiatus.

Dragon School: Dusk Covenant, book six, added plenty of new twists – more than enough to ensure I remained ensnared with the story. Dragon School: First Message, book seven, brought even more to the table – more was added to the storyline, plenty of things leaving me curious as to what would come next. Dragon School: Warring Promises, book eight, left on a serious cliff-hanger – all the books leave on a cliff-hanger, but this was probably the biggest of them all. Dragon School: Prince of Dragons, book nine, was one of my least favourites in the series, but it continued to move things forward for us.

Dragon School: Dark Night, book ten, was one of my favourites in the series, increasing the level of intensity and leaving us with so many expectations. Dragon School: Bright Hopes, book eleven, was a pivotal book in the series, giving us so many new twists and making so many promises for the future. Dragon School: Mark of Loyalty, book twelve, blew all the prior books out of the water, earning it the label as my favourite in the series. Dragon School: Dire Quests, book thirteen, didn’t quite live up to the potential, but I did give it a rounded up three-point-five-star rating. Dragon School: Ancient Allies, book fourteen, was another rounded up rating. Dragon School: Pipe of Wings, book fifteen, was my least favourite, one I was unable to round up despite my desire to do so.

Dragon School: Dragon Piper, book sixteen, came close to being rounded up, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to do so. Dragon School: Dust of Death, book seventeen, felt like a bit of a filler book as not much happened. Dragon School: Troubled War, book eighteen, inched back towards what I liked about the series, but it wasn’t quite there. Dragon School: Starie Night, book nineteen, came extremely close to receiving a four-star rating, but it didn’t quite pack the punch that a penultimate book should.

With Dragon School: Starie Night, we moved back towards the kind of action and drama we were given in the earlier books. This book started off a bit slow, with quite a lot of talk occurring, but once we got down to it a decent amount happened. In fact, plenty happened to keep us crossing our fingers about how everything would come together. This is why I came close to rounding my rating up instead of down. However, as this is the penultimate book, I felt as though things should have been pulled together a bit more than they were. So much has been left open for the last book, and I feel as though we’re not going to get all our answers. In fact, I fear it's going to be a case of needing to continue into ‘season two’ to get all the answers – and I’m really not sure how I felt about that.

Although Dragon School: Starie Night was one of the more enjoyable Dragon School books of the last few releases, I do feel as though it wasn’t quite everything a penultimate book should be.

You will never not be bored by this story, by these characters and by this writing. Could not stop devouring these books.

An entertaining and interesting read. I had such a lovely time reading this book. Once you open this series, be prepared to read all of these books at once - that is how addictive they are.

Full of surprises, danger, dragons, dragon riders, secrets, ancient prophecies, enemies, loyalty, battle, darkness, action, suspense and allies.

Perfect for readers of fantasy romance.

Another quick action paced book as the final war has finally begun! I cannot even begin to articulate my thoughts on how good this book and overall series has been! This book has such profound realness and depth to it! It's amazing! I really love how the book perfectly, accurately and realistically captures the reality of two differing perceived realities clash against one another - the faith and belief of the Lightbringers vs the faith and belief in the Dusk Covenant. It really shows how wars start because of differing ideologies and differing views of the world.

I really liked how we got more information on the motives of the Dusk Covenant. At least the people who hail Starie as the true chosen one. I really like how the book shows that the people in the Dusk Covenant are not necessarily evil, rather they truly seem to believe in what the Covenant stands for - doing whatever is necessary so that their country, the Dominion, does not fall into ruin and is not further weakened to be at the mercy of foreign powers. I also liked the explanation of how the old magic was starting to tun out hence the critical state of things too.

Yet, at the same time it's all questionable because just how much of Starie's mirror magic is influencing and forcing these people to fight for her? How many truly believe in the Covenant's cause. I really hope it is the first that they chose to fight for Starie, because again it is that much more realistic and amazing. And even if Starie has influenced the people on her side, well in a way, that too is realistic as ideologies can truly become so ingrained within people it is nearly impossible to change their mind. It's just how people viewed Amel as a fool who had been led astray about the prophecies, that she was the one who was wrong; the Lightbringers; not them, the Dusk Covenant. And then there are those like Amel's once dragon teacher who seemed to falter, yet kept on insisting that she believed, she DID believe in Starie and the Dusk Covenant. Talk about some major cognitive dissonance and self justification! I am glad that old teacher was killed, was waiting for it to happen all throughout the book. Lol.

Also, I an continuing to love the beautiful, respectful, and accurate portrayal of those with disabilities. As I've said before, as someone with a disability, I cannot emphasize enough how much appreciate so much effort and beautiful portrayal. Especially, Roalcan's wisdom and words on well everything. All that he says is something that I think you can really live by and apply to real life. But most importantly what he had stated - just because both him and Amel are disabled, does NOT mean they are worth nothing, they have and will always have worth. Just like Amel said, it does not matter the body you were born into. You have worth. Just, such beautiful messages all around. I really feel them in my heart and soul.

I am so sad, yet happy at the same time that the next book is the final one. It all ends and comes together in the final installment. I will miss all these characters so much as I have grown to love these beloved characters. The journey has been so very much worth it. I look forward to seeing how it all ends :')

Easily my favourite of the latest few books, a really enjoyable penultimate instalment that’s tying up loose ends but in no way feels rushed. Let’s be honest, if you’re looking at the nineteenth book on here, you’re almost certainly already a Dragon School addict, so you’ll already know the wonder that is Raolcan. Starie Night is on a Raolcan-level of excellence and it’s instalments like this that turned me into such a fangirl.

That said, I do wish there was a touch more proofing. Couple of errors, although nothing too distracting, in the story and also with the book list at the rear listing Starie Night as Bitter Night (previous book was the same, so guessing this list is just copied in as is unchecked)

Dragon School: Starie Night is Book 19 and things aren't looking good for Amel and her friends. Starie is using Amel as bait and Raolcan is missing. Starie also has control of The Pipe of Wings. Her followers, The Dusk Covenant, believe in the prophecies, but their version is different to the Lightbringer's. Amel has an epiphany when facing the end. She realizes that she is so much more than a cripple. This episode ends on another cliffhanger.

The final battle is nearly here and Amel is a prisoner of Starie and the Dusk Covenant. Starie intends to use her as bait against Savette. She also has Leng as a prisoner, so that she can threaten to do him harm so as to keep Amel in line. Raolcan and Amel were separated when they were knocked from the sky by an Ifrit, so she doesn't have the support of her dragon and she is being abused by the Magikas and Grandis Elfar. She would have to find a way to spread discord amongst them if at all possible. Otherwise all may be lost.

In this, my twenty-second read from author Sarah K.L. Wilson & the twentieth in the Dragon School series, I've run out of superlatives to describe her writing. This is another amazing read in The Dragon School series! It's all coming to a head & I can't wait for book 21 to come out, although when completed I can see this being republished as an epic with each book being a chapter. What other blurbs can I use to describe these books? Oh well, buy the book, read the books, get into a good author and some good characters as I have. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Getting closer and closer to the end of this series and realized that I have become so attached to Amel and Raolcan that I will be a utter mess when the series is done. Of course we follow Amel and Raolcan to see just how strong their bond is, while dealing with the heartache that they are put through. The character growth for both of them is off the charts and I must say this is a must read series! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I love this series, and while I will be sad for it to end reading it is just amazing. So much has happened over the course of the series, and as we are coming to the end the books just keep getting better. I love Amel and how much she has grown since book 1. Starie's powers are finally revealed and hostages are taken. The final showdown is coming and there will be even more tears shed I am sure.

Amel has lost everything. Raolcan has been knocked from the sky and assumed dead. Amel has been captured by the dark "Chosen One', Starie. And the Pipe of Wings has been taken by Starie, putting her in control of the dragons. But as the saying goes..."It's always darkest before the dawn." "Then the lame and the blind shall lead them, and guide them from the storm."

"Terrific"

This is book #19 of the Dragon School series. I can hardly describe it except to say it is " Awesome " and exciting! A couple of twists I did not see coming and the fast pace action is absolutely wonderful. Another example of Sarah Wilson's fantastic storytelling. The end is near, who will triumph, the Light or the Darkness? One more book to go and I can hardly wait! Definitely a must read!

War, bravely, loss, injury, excitement, holding your breath because you get sucked into the endgame that's unfolding in this episode, what could possibly make it any better? Well.. maybe a wonderful conclusion of Amel's arc when it comes to accepting herself the way she is, helped in a wonderful and unexpected way by (who else) Raolcan, maybe... I might have shed a few tears over some parts of this, but only for the better. Now... on to the conclusion!

I really enjoyed reading this story. This is an emotional read, as you try to figure out what has happened to Raolcan along with Amel, and the girl that has tricked her way into gathering followers as the false 'chosen one' attempts to overpower all of those around her. I'd recommend this short read to fans of fantasy stories, dragons and YA writing with a bit of mystery.

This was a good episode with high highs and bottom lows. We learn about Starie's magic (although I haven't completely grasped it) and the final stand between Starie and Savette is there.
I can't wait to read the end in the next and final book of this fantastic series!

The penultimate book in this incredible series is everything you could hope for. The end of the war is so close and things are very bleak for Amel, Raolcan, the dragons, their friends and allies. This book made me cry, made me angry and made me desperate for the final book. I have loved this series from the very first page of book one. I cannot recommend this book and series highly enough.

I could not put this down. I never read books that are so riddled with pain and suffering. But, Sarah your writing is so interesting and the characters are fantastic. I wish ever one I like could be saved and I needed to know what would happen next. Looking forward to next novella.

Amel and Raolcan never fail to hold my attention!

I am continuously caught off guard by how quickly I get sucked into this series. I had taken far too long of a break, and am SO glad I am finishing this series.

What an adventure! Starie is still an egotistical young lady, and Amel is still fighting against the odds.

Now, to dive into the final Dragon School book!

Oh wow

Fabulous page turner. I was caught up in the fight against evil and almost gave up when Amel was captured and Raolcan was missing. I should have known better, Raolcan came to the rescue and Amel found her true courage. Totally utterly awesome, highly recommend.

Amel and her dragon Roalcan. what happen to him? But is it good? maybe.
I had to read on, and cried with Amel.
Action packed but emotional with her dragon Roalcan.

I was intrigued by story-line, characters and dragon antics. Sarah writes a wonderful fantasy with dragons and gives her characters so much development, they feel like real people. Love the main character and how she over comes her handicap to strive and win.
