A brand new delightful adventure to celebrate 30 years of Percy the Park Keeper.
Fox, Percy and the rest of the animals are all enjoying a game of hide and seek. That's until Fox's haste to find a place to hide sees him covered in glue, it's not so easy to play the game with various items stuck to you!
A really joyful tale as Foxs attempts to stay inconspicuous is ended by various clomps and boings.
The illustrations are also charming, including a great fold out scene. A lovely family picture book.
Percy the Park Keeper books have sold over 9 million copies worldwide and Percy has had his own TV show in the past. Nevertheless I had never heard of him but having read this book and seen the illustrations I can see why people like him.
"Percy the park keeper works hard looking after the park and his animal friends who live there." These friends include badgers, mice, rabbits, hedgehogs, and of course a fox who is the subject of this story. Percy and his animals are playing hide and seek and Percy is coming to find fox who is outside Percy's workshop looking for a place to hide. "Oh dear. Percy said not to go in here, but... but..." He needs to find a hiding place so goes in but accidentally knocks everything over including Percy's super sticky glue which sticks everything in Percy's workshop to him, including a spring. The story revolves around this.
What makes the story really good is the illustrations. The drawings have great detail, great colouring and the animals look really good. There is one part of the book where a picture is made into a fold-out poster so you can see it in all it's larger glory. Now I can see why the Percy the park keeper books are so popular.
I love Percy the Park Keeper, and this book is no exception. Percy is playing a lovely game of hide and seek when Fox manages to get himself covered in Very Sticky Glue- and he's sticking to everything! Complete with a beautiful fold out page and gorgeous illustrations, 'One Springy Day' is an absolute delight.
A funny and lovely story about things going wrong after fox broke a rule, and natural consequences followed and he learned his lesson. His friends didn't yell at him and helped him untangle his mess is a lovely little Percy the park keeper way. Love these books for my toddler. Good language and full story lines.
Surely everyone loves Percy the Park Keeper as much as we do as a family?! Gentle, sticky story with the usual exquisite, charming illustrations. Does anyone else hear Percy’s voice as Alan Titchmarsh? No? Just me then !
Another fun-filled title in the Percy the Park Keeper series. What happens when poor fox has an unfortunate encounter with a bucket of glue? Total mayhem and adventures await.

One beautiful day, Percy the park keeper and his animal friends were playing hide-and-seek; Percy was the seeker. Fox didn’t know where to hide so he ran into the tool shed where Percy had said to never go. What he found there got Fox into a big, tangled, sticky mess. This is a very funny story and fun to read. The illustrations are wonderful
