Len, please tell Kahoko your feelings instead of your rival and free feelings therapist, Ryotaro, who also has feelings for Kahoko. PLZ.
I love these feelings challenged children.

A little bit of Azuma spotlight. Len, too (I keep forgetting his hair is blue). And a sneak peek at La Corda 3!

~4-4.5/5
I really did miss this series. I believe I stated this in my previous review, but it's so true. I love all of the characters, and it's so nice to get to read about them again. They're all just so great, and different, and fun, and I'm glad that I got to read two volume so close together (and, um, upset that the next one isn't out till August, but oh well).
Quite a bit of the volumes lately seem to be taken up with other things, that don't have to do with the main story. And, while I enjoy these stories, I also kind of want the story to get moving, or to get to see it moving more in a volume.
The first chapter of this volume, for example, is a small special about Keiichi's sister, who came to visit, and pretends to be him in order to see the friends he told her about and fangirl over them. This was very cute, though. She's older than Keiichi, but looks almost like his twin, and is very different. She gets very excited and loves clothes, and makes all of his friends frilly outfits to wear. Also, I love that we're getting to see all these things about Keiichi, since he's usually so aloof and blank-faced and asleep. It's nice to see him interacting with others, and doing things that people wouldn't expect.
His sister also mentions to him that Kahoko's cute, which makes it seem like he's interested. I really hope he's not, because there are enough guys wanting her.
Aside from that, the volume starts with Kahoko and Len practicing, and him walking her home. They do a little shopping along the way, and I believe that Kahoko buys a going-away present for him. They play some more. And Len comes to realize his feelings for her. Which is huge and exciting, and yes! Love it.
In the next chapter, Kahoko helps Kazuki take some pictures for the newspaper/year book, while waiting for a music room to open up. Azuma joins them when he sees Kahoko's discomfort around him. He bothers her some more, and she realizes that he doesn't hate her, which perhaps bothers her even more. When she leaves, Kazuki and Azuma talk about her, and how Kazuki likes her but is afraid to confess. Kazuki doesn't believe that there will be any distance between them when he graduates, and Azuma tells him that they'll be going to the same school after graduation (which is exciting, since that means he's going to take up music, despite what his family wants).
At the end of that chapter, and the beginning of the next, Kahoko and Len talk and tease a bit, which is super cute and sweet. I love them. I think that they're really good together, that Kahoko pushes Len just the right amount, and makes him open up, which is nice. On the other hand, though, there's Ryotaro, who is also good with her. (There are other people, of course, that are possibilities, but I think those two are the ones that work best, or at least are the most likely to happen, no matter how much I love the other characters as well.) Nami (the newspaper girl) talks with Ryotaro, mentioning that Kahoko and Len have been getting close lately. (Maybe something with happen between those two? Maybe that could work, and would make me feel less bad?)
We become aware that there's only a week left, till Len leaves (I believe?), and Len and Ryotaro talk some more. I like their relationship. It's sweet, and fun, and while they both like Kahoko, they're not mean about it or anything, even if they do insult each other. They're got an odd friendship, and I like it. The chapter ends with Len promising to come to the competition that Kahoko is participating in.
It's becoming apparent that Kahoko is going to get hurt when Len leaves, and Ryotaro has a talk with him about it. It's also obvious that Len is going to miss her (which is so sweet!). But Len tells him that he's not going to tell her, whatever it is that he's has to tell her (maybe that he's leaving sooner than she thinks?) after the competition, so as not to mess it up for her.
The volume ends with them going in to the competition, which is so very mean. I want to know what happens! There are only two volumes left, and I want to find out what happens!
There's an extra chapter at the end about La Corda d'Oro 3, which is the new video game that was coming out in Japan at the time, I guess. We got to meet the characters in it, which was interesting. They were all rather different, and did catch my interest, but my attention was mostly on the main story, because I wanted more of it. And it made it sound like we would be seeing them again? As in, there might be more extras with them in it in the next volume? Or just as in, if you go and play the game? While they were interesting to me, and I was glad they were so different (even with the same general plot, of going to the same school and being surrounded by boys), I just want more of Kahoko and her crew. I want to know what happens! (But there's such a long wait!)
Sidenote: I noticed that Shoko isn't in with the characters descriptions. Because there isn't enough space, maybe? This bothers me. But there should be several other characters in there, like maybe the teachers and Nami. With the people that are mentioned, it makes it seem like the only important people are Kahoko and the boy falling for her. Which might be the case, but shouldn't be.

Gemas liat Tsukimori yang nyadar sama perasaan sukanya ke Kahoko. Tetap aja tampang biasa-biasa aja nggak menggebu-gebu gitu hahaha ^^. Ahh,, Kak Hihara masih jadi favorit. Enak kali ya kalau punya teman atau kenalan kayak dia huhuhu #maubingo.

What’s with the hold up? Why doesn’t anyone want to confess? Well, at least Len is realizing his feelings. By the way, couldn’t the back to the past story be slightly longer - what a tease. Anyways, still a fun series. 3.9/5.

Pasé de querer pegarle una piña a Len, a llorar, a patalear por la emoción, TODO EN UN MISMO CAPÍTULO. Igual espero que el final sea un poco más elaborado que lo que se está perfilado por ahora, porque creo que la historia da para más. Dedos cruzados.

I would like to announce a few things before I start this bootiful review of mine.

1. DUDE. The expected publication is on March 6th and I found this book at my library on March 3rd, and today is March 4th. WHOOOOOA.

2. I believe this is the first review for La Corda D'Oro Volume 15. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY I'll make this review a good one.

3. There is indeed a volume 16. (IT ISN'T OVER YET!!!)

So yes. Here is my review, YAAAAAAAAAAAY!

First of all, I WANT TO WARN YOU GUYS ABOUT SPOILERS! I'll put up a Spoiler Boundary Line (since I can't handle spoiler tags) when we get to that part, but yeah. If you haven't gotten your hands on this book 3 days before the expected publication like I did (which is weird because if I had gotten my hands on this book on March 3rd, it must have been published BEFORE then), or you didn't set your eyes over the pages of this book, I suggest you be VERY VERY CAUTIOUS!!!!

So my review portion of this book that I need to type for EVERYONE to see that is SPOILER FREE is . . .

"Oh my god, this volume is awesome. Go read it, now."

See, basically, this volume just makes things a little more exciting. YOU KNOW, we've been waiting for this moment since Volume One of this series! DUDE, IT'S FINALLY HAPPENED!
But it's continued in volume 16 and I DON'T HAVE THAT BOOK YET.

4 sparkly sparkly stars are awarded to this volume of La Corda D'Oro!!

Anyway, onto the spoiler section........urgh, most of my manga reviews have spoilers in them. It's purely to explain my opinions on what happened.
It's not meant to ruin my fellow review readers' lives. SO IF YOU DO "accidentally" READ MY SPOILERS, do not yell at me.
I am warning you. Turn back now before it's too late.

Mwah. Ha. Ha.

--------SPOILER BOUNDARY LINE---------

Alright. So basically, the whole entire thing I said earlier about what we've been waiting for since Volume One of this series has finally arrived in Volume 15...well, basically....

YES. Len has finally found out his feelings for Kahoko.

(IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!)

Anyway, it's a BIG DEAL in this series because THE PACING OF ROMANCE IN THIS SERIES IS A BIT SLOW. I appreciate that it doesn't fast-forward the romance, but seriously. It's torturing.
But this is definitely not the climax of the story. I think that's in volume 16. Siiiiigh...

ANYWAY, THE ART IS BEAUTIFUL. It makes me shriek in fangirlness.
(EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!)

Will Len tell Kahoko how he feels???
(Answer: Well, find out along with me in Volumes 16 and further, because I have no idea either.)

Kahoko Hino is in the general ed program. There is really nothing remarkable about her, but she is able to see a fairy that no one else can see. The fairy gives her a magical violin and she finds herself auditioning for the school musical competition, one in which general ed students never make the final cut. Kahoko is one of the finalists, but it is only because she has the magical violin.

The other contestants are:
Len Tsukimori, violin, who has a real attitude problem. He seems very conceited and looks down his nose at everyone, including other music program students.
Keiichi Shimizu, cello, who is very sweet tempered, but he is usually asleep or snacking on junk food.
Kazuki Hihara, trumpet, who is probably the most likable of the contestants. He has a real positive attitude, is friendly with everyone and really just enjoys himself.
Azuma Yunoki, flute, who is the demon of the group. He shows one face to his fellow students, but to Kahoko, he shows a dark, twisted, demonic side. He may seem like a pleasant guy, but he has a mean streak.
Ryotaro Tsuchiura, piano, who is also a general ed student. As it turns out, he is a bit of a piano child prodigy and he is a later addition to the competition. He's also on the soccer team.

Kahoko finds that through her experience with the competition, she really does love music. She really respects Len and his talent, even though he acts like a jerk more often than not. She makes it through the competition, doesn't win, but decides she wants to keep learning how to play for real. She may be rough around the edges and needs to learn finesse, but she still has a pure passion for music and the violin that wins people over.

Like so many other shojo manga, it seems the course of love doesn't run smooth. It seems Kahoko is developing feelings for Len, but is it possible he is starting to reciprocate? Kazuki is certainly crushing on her. Then there is is Ryotaro, who looks out for her, but is there something more to it that motivates him? And what is up with Azuma? At times he seems cruel to Kahoko, but then there are times he seems to like her.

Len seems to soften towards her when he agrees to help Kahoko by tutoring her on the violin. Matters are complicated further for her when Len decides to study abroad and annouunces he is leaving Japan. Has she become proficient enough to be able to compete on her talent alone without the aid of a fairy and magical violin?

I like how 8 out of every 10 reviews I write for this series boil down to 'I like everyone! Shame there aren't more girls though' I'm a broken record. V_V I can't help it guys! Like with this volume I spent five minutes having warm fuzzies over Azuma and Kazuki's friendship (it's so great! And Azuma is so stupid god, he works himself into these knots over how he's totes different from his friends, he is a mean cold soul, you don't even know! And Kazuki responds in the same 'what, do you mean you hate me? DDDD:' way Kahoko does and once that's cleared up he's like well then we're good, bffs for life! Azuma is really lucky he's got all these nice straightforward people around him) and then I was like but gosh, wouldn't it be nice if Kahoko got something like this with one of her girl friends? V_V I am a parody of myself.

It's okay though, I'm capable of caring about dudes too. Like Len! Look at him with the dose of self-awareness he caught this volume! :DDDD Yes, my friend, I do believe you may be experiencing love. Now go tell Kahoko when you're leaving, there's a good lad.

Also re: the last chapter, I like the new kids! Particularly the history with Kanade, Ritsu, and Kyoya, that seems like it'll take us some fun places. :) 3.5 stars

This is another solid installment of the series, but it's still lacking that extra little something to make it an excellent story. I'm enjoying La Corda, but I'm glad it's wrapping up in another two volumes or so.

Speaking of wrapping up, that really could have happened by now. I am more than a little irritated with too many side stories that pull away from the main story, and in this volume it's a completely different story altogether (set 8 years in the future with a whole new group of students) that takes up nearly a third of the volume. The series could have ended books ago, seriously. Couple that with a 6+ month release schedule between volumes and yeah, I'm annoyed.

One of my favorite things is a reverse harem type of series and this one did not disappoint. The correlation between each of the different boys and their musical instruments was excellent and I loved how music helped to progress the story line along. Hino was such a cute character!

Anime: One of my favorites! I loved all of the music!!!

I have to admit that this series is progressing at a snail's pace, but it's just so darn cute. Definitely one for my shoujo fans, though, not much else happening here.

I read a few chapters of the manga, and watched the anime. The only thing that kept me watching was the brilliant music presented in the anime. Nothing more. I really despise this type of heroine.

Len questions what his feelings are toward Hino as he helps her with playing the violin. Interesting moment with Azuma. Like this volume.
