ALLY - He looked like he needed a “pick me up”, so I gave him one. In passing, I shoved my panties into the pocket of his leather jacket. It wasn’t typical behavior for me, but he wasn’t a typical biker. It didn’t matter. I’d never see him again. When he appeared at my favorite diner a few days later, my jaw hit the floor. My panties weren’t far behind. When I found out he was a thief, I grinned at the common bond we shared. Then, I took his wallet. I planned to steal his heart next. First, I’d have to tell him the truth. The entire truth. GOOSE – Finding my pantyless Cinderella wasn’t going to be an easy task. I told myself if—and when—I did find her, I’d make her mine for one glorious night. I quickly learned one night would never be enough. I knew relationships weren’t for outlaw bikers. Relationships required honesty. Being honest about club business was contradictory to the MC’s rules. The only way around it was if she became a member of the MC. We needed a member, no doubt. Not a smart-mouthed chick with a bold attitude, though. Unless she was a died-in-the-wool thief and a getaway car driver…

Stand-alone. No cheating. HEA. No triggers. Sexy. Angsty. Funny. Action-packed. Triple-digit chase scenes with the cops. Double-crossing. Cross pollination with characters from other MC novels.
Now, onto the meat of this review.
After using their simple-minded member, Cash, as a means of escape after a botched robbery, the MC is reminded that they are is in dire need of a getaway driver for their illicit work.
With GOOSE, Hildreth has taken us back to the world of bank robberies, kitchen sex, home invasions, disposing of dead bodies, bad detectives, good detectives (is there such a thing?), piles of not-so-hard-earned cash, outrunning the cops, sexy in cramped spaces, not outrunning the cops, sexy Heroes, and sassy heroines.
Goose is the slightly sensible resident weapons expert for the club. He spends his spare time tending to his flowers and landscape, because he can regulate (and control) it. His life (not admittingly) is in disarray, and the botanical perfection of his luscious floral garden allows him to believe, if even only on Sunday evenings, that everything's in order.
He encounters the woman we all met in the last chapter of GHOST, a pretty sneaker-wearing thing that happened into the diner in the closing scene.
While attending a funeral (of all places) she sees the turmoil in his eyes In an effort to lift his spirits, she tucks her panties (unnoticed-more on that later) into his leather jacket.
Her efforts work, but all too well.
They encounter one another by chance a few days later, and the sexual tension is IMMEDIATE (and funny as hell).
We find out early that the heroine is a slight-of-hand expert, and a pickpocket. Although her repertoire doesn't include (at least not yet) skills that the Disciples need, she has other skills that Goose feels he can put to use.
We later learn some background information on said pickpocket that are eye-opening.
Ally, our heroines, is sassy, smart-witted, and takes zero ounces of shit from ANYONE. She does not back down when challenged, nor does she cower when confronted by the club's biggest member, Cash (great scene). She is also a thief (hmmm).
Our hero is quiet, troubled, and devoted to his club. He's not a whore, a liar, or a cheat (although he is a thief).
This tale takes us into new MC territory with its unraveling of these two characters. In fact, I'll say that (to the best of my knowledge) no MC Romance has explored the territory that Hildreth explores with the tale of these two unlikely partner/outlaws.
A great fast-paced sexy read. if you enjoy the lifestyle of the MC, you undoubtedly love this book. Although this book number four of the Devil's Disciples MC Series, it can easily (and rewardingly) be read as a stand-alone. Hildreth has done a good job with this book (and with a few others) in explaining the club's backstory in such a manner that one isn't left scratching their respective head.
Prepare for the unexpected, because it happens. Luckily, this time, no one dies.
As this one started out I was so so on it. Goose was ok, Ally was ok. Quickly though I found myself loving Ally. Ally definitely marches to the beat of her own drummer, but in a good way. I loved how she was adamant to live off the grid as much as possible, loved how she was blunt with Goose, loved how her comments would throw Goose off, yet he came back for more. When things started to get serious and Ally and Goose started sharing secrets it was fun to see how much they had in common. But the best part was the way that Ally was able to throw the other guys in the MC off. It was great that after knowing Ally's name they realized she had a reputation and a good one at that. The way that Ally had suggestions to improve things left them all stunned, but more so when they saw how easy things were. Of course easy was in relative terms. But the best, the very best was the was that Ally dealt with Cash being an asshole. What a great way to screw with him!
The ending was great, loved the bit about the postcards and second chances and June does seem the best time for a visit from the past.
I liked how the guys met the Filthy Fuckers, an alliance of sorts made between the two clubs. I think both of them are going to need each other if the one cop has anything to say about it. It will be interesting where things go from here for all of them.
On a side note, it's hard to keep a dead character alive in a series, but with this book it was done right. If he couldn't be there right along side them all, this was is second best.
“All I had to do was be.” ~Ally The above quote is from Scott Hildreth’s latest novel GOOSE, fourth in the Devil’s Disciples MC series. This book had my overthinking, screwed up mind on the fast track to a twist filled wild ride. This author challenged me in this book. Which I LOVE, it just takes me some time to “just be” so that I can examine what I read and why I am challenged. For me, if an author pushes me past my own thought process and forces me to be open-minded enough to accept another point of view, then that book has achieved something magical. And GOOSE did that for me. Mr. Hildreth created characters that I loved, until they didn’t do what I wanted… LOL yes these characters were REAL. They did not follow any preconceived script on what romance characters ought to be, they pushed this reader to think outside my box. Let’s start with Ally, the more I read, the more I liked her. Shit, she was thee most patient person, an amazing listener, not to mention simply brilliant. As the story progressed we got more glimpses into her unconditional love to anyone that she put her trust in, and the journey the author takes us on can not be missed. ONE OF A KIND, is the only words that fit. Goose, hmmmmmmm….. I could very much relate to him, LMAO—he reminded me of myself in some ways, he seem to go into situations with a plan already mapped out and did not like when something different happened. I could very much relate to that…. Ally was perfect for him, reading their love story was special… I was half way through the book and reflected that I had not read a couple so likeable and real in a very long time. Their acceptance of each other was beautiful. *HUGE SMILE* ~ GOOSE is a book that should not be missed, as much as I LOVED these real characters, I would be amiss if I did not mention the action and suspense that this novel inspired. OMG!!!!! PEOPLE I WAS ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT…. Not just the edge of my seat but reaching out and was desperately looking for my seatbelt. Wild ride does not cover it, there were many, many, many, scenes that I was clapping at the end whispering “SSSHHH***TTT”, and went back to read again. Overall this book was an amazing read, filled with so much MORE - a review could never do it justice — so —sit back, let these characters be themselves, and enjoy the ride!!!! That is it, that is all I got….
I don't think I loved Goose any more than the other guys because you give them a bit of you so I end up liking them all. Now, even Ally brings a bit of your spirit as she fills a missing spot in both Goose's life but the club's. She's a breath of fresh to these guys who tend to argue like old married folks. I like her fun spirit and smarts. I don't know if it was "romantic" but overall I felt respect and love that would probably go longer in life than lust...oh, there is good lust here but this I'd no bodice ripper...lol
The plot was interesting. The sex scenes feel like how a guy thinks a woman would think. Instsrted skipping and started reading the plot scenes. I wanted to see how it ended
What a wonderful book! Goose is book 4 in the Devil’s Disciples MC series and a great addition to a series I have genuinely enjoyed. This is Goose and Ally’s story.
This book sucked me in from the beginning. I fell in love with Ally’s character and she was totally perfect for Goose. He’s struggling and taking Ghost’s death the hardest of the club members. He and Ghost were extremely close and Goose feels lost. He and Ally develop a strong connection almost immediately. The more time they spend together, the more they begin to open up and trust the other, and the more important they realize they are to each other. It’s true that likes attract because it doesn’t take long before they discover that they have a lot in common. This opens additional doors in their relationship and strengthens it even more.
The race towards the end had me holding my breath. I felt as though I was in the car right alongside the characters. I was sitting next to Goose holding that “oh shit” handle wondering what was going to happen next. So cool! I can only imagine the rush of adrenaline you get reaching those speeds.
I loved seeing the guys from the FF MC. It’s always fun when characters from other series make appearances. The ending was really sweet and I can’t wait to get Tito and Reno’s stories as well.
I had a hard time rating this one. I'm still mad about Ghost's book. I can't remember a book ever crushing me like that one did.
What I didn't like -
There were typos and left out words. It wasn't awful, but it was very noticeable and happened too many times. Such errors are common in drafts but should really be gone by publication.
The beginning was confusing. I was a little upset at first because I thought he was being that intimate with someone random. I was wrong. The whole beginning isn't what it seems, but it was still confusing.
I don't their attitudes about casual sex. They either admitted or all but admitted to doing so in the past, and they had sex before they were serious. This isn't talked about a lot, which is good, and I realize everyone has different views on sex. But personally, I believe sex is too intimate to be casual, especially oral or kink.
I know Ghost wasn't "with" Ally, but it bugs me he had a friendship with Ally to the extent he did.
Why I did like -
I love MC books because I love makeshift families. I love the brotherhood. This MC is dysfunctional but they still love each other.
The very end was amazing and done perfectly. I got chills, and I teared up. It was just perfect.
At first I had no clue where Scott was gonna take this... obviously he's def "got this"! Poor Goose was devastated when Ghost took leave. He didn't quite know how to go on. Meeting Ally was fate and heaven knew he needed help! Y'all gotta read it because I'm not giving anymore away! Just know thru ups n downs, Ally is all kick ass n take names! FAMILY OVER ALL! I'm ready for the next one, Scott! 😍
"When two people are in love, they make sacrifices for each other "
Usually when I read Scott 's books I fall in love with his hot alpha makes, but in this case it was Ally that I loved the most. She is everything that a broken biker like Goose needs, she is smart, spunky, fearless and most importantly loyal to those she loves. Ghost definitely had a part in bringing them together. Another brilliant story from Scott Hildreth.
Goose is the 4th book in this series and it shows us how the previous events have affected him. He is a man that likes organization and no clutter. When Ally comes along and surprises him with a gift and a connection to his grief that eases his pain he will do anything to keep her. Their story is angsty, steamy and action packed. A story of second chances, moving forward and finally finding your heart.
After the last book in this series I couldn’t wait to see where this author was going to go and trust me when I say he didn’t disappoint. Just when I think that one book can’t be outdone I’m proven once again to be wrong.
Goose has been torn upside down from losing one of his closest friends and he has struggled the most I believe with this. When he sees Ally the first time there is attraction there that catches him off guard especially with what he finds she left him. However, once he meets her he realizes that she is definitely unlike anyone he has ever met.
Ally is one of the strongest women I’ve see written in awhile. She is who she is no apologies and she is smart and talented beyond belief. She has this honestly about her that Goose is intrigued by however his biggest thing is TRUST. That’s his hardest thing to do and he struggles with this throughout.
Anyone who has read this series will definitely want to read this and anyone who likes a strong female will enjoy this.
Reading this book after Ghost was hard. I felt Goose's pain and grief after losing his brother. Scott has made it to my top 10 author list and I'm going to read all of his books. This one is Goose's story. He meets Ally and is drawn to her. She is quirky, witty, and a badass. They are perfect for each other and I enjoyed watching them fall in love with each other. I really hope this isn't the last of the books. I hope Tito and Reno get a book as well. Now I'm on to read Crip's story and start the Filthy Fuckers MC series. 😉

No one writes an MC book quite like Scott Hildreth. He has a way of giving the reader the real deal about motorcycle clubs with also adding the right touch of humor and humility. You feel as if you get to really know his fellas and the women who eventually win their hearts.
With Goose, a common thread that flowed through this book was the aftermath of Ghost's departure. Which I thought was really well done. Goose is still reeling and it's only when he starts to get to know Ally, does the sad fog that surrounds him, start to lift. I loved that his romantic interest is the woman who got to know Ghost while they had breakfast at a small diner on the outskirts of town. And who knew she'd be the one to finally make his heart melt a bit and find a love he never thought possible.
Ally is a great character. She is no nonsense, has mad skills and literally cut the Devil's Disciples to their knees!! Every single one of them. I was floored at how she could be calm and collected no matter the danger and how she tamed even the most powerful of men with her subtle brilliance. She is one helluva heroine and I was in complete awe of her.
But, the way she 'manipulated' the fellas didn't always seem right to me. I hate to use the word emasculate but in some ways that's exactly what she did. I had a funny feeling about Ally being in charge of jobs even over Baker. And the attitude she brought out in Cash, made me really mad at him. And I loved his book a lot. He was not shown in a good light and that really bothered me.
In addition, there was no interaction with the other ol ladies, Andy and Kimberly, and I felt that that possible relationship would have added another layer to Ally's life. And shown her in another light. Not just as one of the boys.
Overall, I enjoyed this visit back with this MC and I look forward to getting Reno and Tito's stories in the future. They are a true brotherhood that has its ups and downs just like any club or organization. And the love they feel for not only each other but for the women who tame them is truly a beautiful thing.
Goose is a great guy. loyal to a fault and much more sensitive than he lets on. His story is well worth your time and I happily give his book a solid 4 stars!
Goose (Devil's Disciples MC #4) by Scott Hildreth is another story of these great Alpha guys in the MC club and mixed in with another MC to add a little bit more spice to life. I love Scott’s work, and no one writes a MC story like he does. He is a brilliant wordsmith and it is through his vision of the world and characters that you feel like you are just as much a part of it as them. These guys are tough, and no nonsense and they love there one and done women but to watch them trying so hard not to fall in love is fun. I love that they are family and are written with humanity and humour that just makes you crack up
We saw the death of Ghost and it has hit them all hard but non harder than Goose, but he did get to meet Ally, the woman who became friends with Ghost. Goose loves plants and loves things in order and Ally is not order. She makes him look at things differently, but she may just be what he needs, and she may have something the club needs as well.
I loved Ally she is sassy and a no-nonsense kind of gal. She is also hiding a big secret and she hates to tell lies. Meeting Goose has made her determined to make him hers, but she will not be pushed around. The Devil's Disciples soon find out this tiny woman is the answer to their problems and are awed with what she can teach them.
I was go glad when Goose released. I’ve become a huge fan of Scott Hildreth’s writing, but after Ghost, I really had to wonder where this series would go. While Ghost will probably remain one of my all time favorite books, it was certainly a game changer for the Devils Disciples series. And personally , I wholeheartedly suggest reading this series from the beginning as Goose picks up right where Ghost ended.
This book is full of surprises (like an appearance from the FFMC). Goose and Ally have got to be the most unique couple. I loved Ally’s choice not to embrace modern conveniences most of us feel are absolute necessities. Ally is not your typical heroine. I had so much fun reading the pranks on Cash (still my least favorite of this MC and he so deserved each and every prank). Goose now is my favorite DDMC man. The things he is drawn to Ally most, have very little or nothing to do with her looks. It’s all her attitude and “talent”. And he’s so adorable when he gets flustered like the verbal fumble when defining the relationship between himself and Ally.
This, by far, is Mr. Hildreth’s best book. Two club members left. And now with Marc Watson thrown into the mix... who knows what will happen now.
When you become so involved with a book series and its characters that you feel a part of the story then, truly then you know what an incredibly talented author you have come to appreciate. This is what Hildreth delivers!
I openly admit that I was completely devastated and in love with the story and character of Ghost (book previous to Goose). So Goose had me a bit nervous. But he more than delivered.
This story introduces us to MC brother Goose and Ally. Both are a connection to Ghost but effortlessly seem like they've been together for years. I guess that's a sign of a soul mate maybe.
Goose and Ally have so much in common but guard themselves. He because of Club business and she out of self-preservation. But unbeknownst to each, they are almost one in the same. Both need to prove their worth and their love. Ally faces tough odds with the Club.
I appreciate Goose and his protective side of Ally all while he admires her work and skills. And we're once again given a kick butt heroine that doesn't need saving, just equal opportunity and love.
We see some old MC friends and foes and a bit more of an insight to the remaining brothers. Looking forward to the next ride!
I have really enjoyed this entire series. Ally and Goose's story is the latest reason to recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable read. Goose is cool but I love Ally. She's interesting and smart and exceptionally good at what she does. I also like how Goose and Ally's relationship played out. Things progressed between them quickly, yet it didn't feel like insta-love. Their relationship felt very natural in its formation. I thought them communicating via dry erase board at the diner was a nice touch. I also like that they weren't having sex constantly. There was just the right amount written into this story. And I liked that they helped each other deal with the loss of their loved ones., especially Goose who was having a tough time coming to terms with things. Ally's relationship with the members of the Devils Disciples ultimately is the best and most exciting part of the story. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see not only how she would deal with Cash but the outcome of certain events that involve the club. As always, I love that characters from previous books make an appearance in this one. Overall, I just completely enjoyed my reading experience with this book.
After the heartbreak of the last book, even though I understood the reasoning of the outcome, this book was more upbeat after the initial chapter. This is about moving on from loss, adapting to the new circumstances and finding love. It isn't all straight forward, when is it with these Bikers? but it is refreshing and felt a bit like a second chance type story. There are rough bits, coming to terms with loss and figuring out how to carry on as a club, as well as tying up some loose ends. I loved it, couldn't put it down. Some excitement and a little bit of violence, graphic sexual content. Also has suspense and some risky driving. As always Scott has a way with pulling you in and keeping you gripped until the end, with a fast flowing book that gives you emotions galore. I think fans of Scott's bikers really needed this after the last one, I know a few weren't happy with some aspects of it even if it depended on how you took it. I loved the romance of this one, ok maybe some might not see it but in Biker terms I felt it was right, it was in the small things on both sides. It is also about acceptance and respect. A truly uplifting and rewarding read.
I'm pretty sure that Goose and Ally are my fave couple of the series thus far. After the tragedy of the last book, I think its so great that this group was able to regroup. Goose is lost at the beginning, and thats clear, but then he meets this girl who is like no one else (starting with the fact that she doesn't have a phone nor does she want one), but he knows that since his brother was close to her that there must be something very very special about her, and there is. I loved them, the way their relationship developed and how they were keeping secrets but still about to be honest with each other, and once the veil was off, they were just the best - partners in crime (and I do mean that literally). I liked Goose from the time that he cooked for Baker and Andy's date, and with each sucessive book I've been loving him more, and i'm so happy he finally got his HEA. Also I have to say that I really don't like Cash, and I hope for his sake that he can redeem himself soon, because gosh he is an absolute DICK.
Holy Sh*t this dude can write!! That’s what goes through my head every time I pick up one of his books. The way he writes always has meaning and a message, most of the time at some point or another each book gives me all of the feels. And yes, most of the time I have shed some tears by the end of the book. But it does not in any way take away from the story or how much I want to get to that last page so that I can get all of Scott’s message. Goose was amazing, I love that Scott picked up where Ghost left off and that he helped the brothers find peace after losing one of their own. As always I did not want to put this one down, I wanted to see what Ally would do to gain Goose’s trust and to find the love that she was always looking for. Boy did Scott deliver and answer all of my questions that I was mentally asking. You can never go wrong with a book from Scott. I definitely recommend picking up this series and then every other book that he has written.
After the devastating loss at the end of Ghost, Book #3, I wondered how the MC was going to move forward and could they make it together.
We met Ally towards the end of Ghost as they met in the diner at Abby's table. Goose is the club's cook and gardener. She's the daughter of a master thief who taught her everything she knows. Which incidentally would fill the void in the crew left by Ghost as he was the getaway driver.
They have the typical trust issues but more so as they are both on the wrong side of the law and one slip on the tongue and either one is looking at lengthy time behind bars.
When Goose first suggests Ally be brought in as she has a certain skill set they could use most of the guys are willing to at least see what she can do. Cash for some reason is being a whiny pain in the ass.
Their adventures are something, intense and comical at the same time. The love story, well Scott doesn't let us down with that. Nice way to end the series.
GOOSE is Book 4 and a great addition to the Devil's Disciples MC series by the awesome author Scott Hildreth. This is the story of Goose and Ally. Goose and Ally are perfect for each other, their chemistry is of the charts and the way they meet it was fate. In the last book Ghost, I cried a lot and in this one I began to cry in the fist chapter but from the second chapter till the end of this amazing book I was crying , laughing, cursing and loving all the characters that make this story so worth it. The plot is fast pace and entertaining with lots of emotions, drama, action, bit of suspense, humor, hot sex, sexy bikers and a feisty and smart heroine, romance plus great characters from other Scott MC books. I really enjoyed and I couldn't put my kindle down. Scott Hildreth has done it again, AWESOME JOB!!! I can’t wait to read Tito and Reno’s books.
Reviewing a book can be difficult. How do you explain the power of Scott’s writing?
Hmmm
This is the fourth book in the series, yet it reads so well-it can be a standalone. The storyline is not something I was raised to understand. Or want to be a part of. However, Scott manages to tell a story with care, details and precision. He ropes you in. Creates a bubble around you and has you loving the characters...AND their actions.
So, should you read this? Yes! Would you enjoy it? Yes! Scott’s MC books are always enjoyable to read. Hell...all his books are outstanding! His talent to write shines even more after the way he ended Ghost’s book.
Scott’s written a LOT of books. I’ve read them all. I’ve never met him. Bucket list for sure! I owe him nothing. My reviews are for me. I refuse to sugarcoat a book.
I am officially JEALOUS! Ally is one of the coolest characters I have ever read. She is an enigma wrapped in a aura of humbleness. I love that she has this way about her that lets her just be herself, use her "special" talents, and still be able to have moral values.
Goose, as with most of the MC character's Scott writes about, has his own persona that does not fail to draw you in. His personality is magnetic. He may seem a bit surly, but he is my kind of guy. My heart hurt for him and the fellas at the loss of Ghost. This book was written in a way I could feel the sadness, but still appreciate his life.
I really enjoyed getting a revisit from the FFMC. I see trouble brewing on the horizon. I can't wait to see what develops. Goose was a great read. Scorching HOT with a LOT of heart. Another well done addition to the SD Hildreth library.
For the most part Scott's books are 4 or 5 star reads. I most especially enjoy how he writes female characters. I like his female characters much better than 90% of the female characters written by female authors. There's one scene where they come back from a heist and Cash had lost his wallet. Ally goes back to retrieve it. In reality she pickpocketed his wallet in order to set up that she'd go back to get so that she could earn Cash's respect. She never says that's what she did to Cash's face, just gives him his wallet back. In a female author written book, without exception, they would have Ally shove it down Cash's throat that she saved him all to one up him and then would lord it over him continually. You know, the typical feminist view. So, 5 stars to Scott for not presenting it that way.

My Amazon Review. Yip I wanted to punch Cash in the face as well , every time her opened his mouth , to me thats the sign of great writing that I have all these feelings just from reading , I the last book Ghost his story ... wow , Heart broken ! this book all his mates are feeling this way & it comes through in the writing , feelings!! they are all really at a lose , after reading this story to me it feels like with Ghost having breakfast with Alley every morning its like he was all most interviewing her to take over his job with the guys telling her things that would make them run into each other & almost knowing she was Goose's one so to speak. An excellent book ,great writing & an awesome read loved it . How long till its on Audio . :-) Get One Clicking People .
This, I think this put me back together after reading Ghost. Ally bumps into Goose at one of his lowest moments and he can't get her out of his mind. There is something hauntingly familiar about her but he can't put his finger on it, he just knows how he feels when he is with her is unlike anything he has felt before. The parallels are unmistakable and made my heart smile. This MC is unlike any I have read before but like most MCs, the brotherhood, the bond between the men are strong and deep. And this brotherhood have been cut deep, they are all struggling in their own way. Ally may be the one that brings them all together. You all need to read this, especially if you have read the others in this series!
After Ghost, Mr. Hildreth knew exactly what readers needed.
Goose and Ally, their story is phenomenal!
I fell in love with Ally, she is fierce, she is humble and she is perfect for Goose and the crew.
Goose is recovering from the loss of his brother Ghost. When he meets Ally it’s kismet.
I have yet to read a book from Mr. Hildreth that I haven’t fallen in love with. He writes dirty, but he also writes something worth reading. He’s smart with his words and his characters. It’s more that just the physical in his stories.
Mr. Hildreth writes with heart and soul. He brings you into his world of bikers and you will thank him for it!
