I’ve been waiting for Edwards story ever since I read the first Night of the Kings book with James. Though this book be the start of the series if you’re new to it I would recommend starting with book 1 cause these 3 kings intertwine with each other perfectly and you will love them all and get a better grasp of each one individually.
Edwards humor was absolutely perfect and it looks like he has finally tangled himself with someone that might be his match. Thea who in no way is looking for anything other then a distraction cause of wounds that are very fresh has found what she is sure won’t amount to anything other then a fun time which is why she gives it as good as she gets from Edward. She’s not what he’s use to and has peaked his curiosity to a new and sort of uncomfortable level for him and I can’t wait for more to see how this all unfolds!!!!!!

At last, the highly anticipated book we've been waiting for has arrived. "EDWARD", book 7 in Night of the Kings Series, and his story! Known as "The King" with his playful, flirty personality and his killer looks and body can have his pick of any woman who throws themselves at him. Trouble is Ed's bored with all that. He feels nothing but a moment's pleasure. There is no personal connection. Until he started using a phone app the first time. It was a game. A little flirting, a few pictures back and forth until it came time for them to meet. Of course, she didn't know who he was and yet she had ghosted him. He's the last King still standing who's still single.
Shayne Ford never disappoints with her stories and her characters come to life with such personality and vigor you feel like you know them personally by the time you're finished. Just like her other books, you won't be able to put this down until it's finished. The storyline and characters will keep you enthralled.

When ever I pick up a book written by Shane I know it going to be good and this one is no exception! I get hot sticky fingers that send me claws deep burning through the pages with a smirky smile on my face loving the anticipation and thrills that lap up the pages as suspense builds and the storyline grabs at you keeping you in a catatonic state of euphoria luring you in deeper giving you glimpses of a bliss that you know is there hidden within but still lurking within the dark words of print unfolding in front of you encasing you in but not willing to let you emerge until every last word has been read and still it consumes you reeling needing wanting more! Entertaining, enjoyable, exciting, emotionally charged, intense, intoxicating, suspense filled twists, sexy hot chemistry and impossible to put down! A fantastic must read!

~ The real rules of the game ~
We finally get more than a much-anticipated glimpse into the world of the still-elusive-player and third “King,” Edward Preston as he enters a phase in his life where he is just not appreciating enough of anything about his life, having all and still nothing, always restless. He is never looking for a relationship but something about the profile of “Cali Girl” has caught his attention. So starts the slow tease of a wickedly enticing headgame between them.
Thea Portman just had one of the biggest revelations of her young life but is now moving on with her life. She is feeling her way to putting herself out there, vastly unexperienced in the cyber realm of app connecting, never mind dating. Thea soon realizes that “Ghost Man” is not the usual type of man, and she has to reach deep into who she used to be or was on her way to being to find the courage to try to play his game with him.
Both Thea and Ed have people close to them who offer them sage advice. While both James and Lex were coming from the point of view of happily married men, Thea’s support group consists of women still searching for their someones, but offering their own honest scope of experiences. The wise words of the lingerie store woman really resonated, as well as with Chloe, who offered Thea their views on men and relationships; a lot of depth was breathed into their characters during these exchanges. We see that Ed is much more than he lets on, and I will enjoy the journey as we unravel more of his backstory at the same time he tries to unravel Thea’s in the next installments.

A Superb Start to Edward’s Story
Geez this first book in Edward’s story in the Night of the King Series kept me rapt and enthralled, a really great start! Ms Shayne is so insightful, I not only love her great reads, I learn so much about life and myself in every book she writes! A book I can highly recommend that you are going to be waiting expectantly for With the next of the 4 books written by the great Shayne Ford.
Edward Preston works too hard and plays the same way, but he is a jaded, lonely man. Who is devoid of emotion and only ever feels physical attraction! No romance or promises to any woman. Thea Porter is a young naive 22 year old who married at 19 to her Professor Nolan Polk! She finds out he is cheating on her with an older woman and whilst packing to leave finds pics of other young students he’s probably been with too. What an experienced actor he was, and what an idiot she was! She always had to play someone else in her marriage and is quietly relieved it’s over. She had been trapped in the only story she knew! Wasted time but no regrets.
Liz and Chloe close friends talk her in to downloading a chat app and now the game begins. Can she find her way and rediscover herself? Will she ever find her deserved prize? The chat with Ghost Man is getting racier by the day as she is now being entranced and enchanted with her pics for questions! Is Ghost Man out of her league? Can he peel back Thea’s layers while she wrestled with her mind? Is Thea clueless, should she stop this experiment now and why is she so afraid to be adventurous, and will she face her fears, now that her collapsed fake world makes sense?

Shanye Ford- is a genius! I have been waiting for Edward’s story for what seems like forever…but this one was worth the wait. This book ends on a cliffhanger so for those who dislike them be warned. Edward is so amazing, I can’t wait to read more about him as this story continues. And Thea seems like a great match for him. Ahhh,I love Edward! Shanye is my go to author when I want hot drama. I have read several books / series from her and I continue to be in awe- and this story is no different. Edward is fantastic so far. I found the story line captivating and intense. I love a good tragic love story. This one is filled with dark and sensual romance and I highly recommend this to others looking for hot and sexy.

I'm not sure how I discovered Shayne Ford, but I can tell you it all started with her first Nights of the Kings books and I've been feeding my addiction every since there's never enough of her creative way of turning her imagination into written words. Last, but not least Edward has his own story to be told and it's full of dominance that has all the ladies vying for his attention, but he's tried of that scene. Thea fresh out of a divorce has allowed her friends to hook her up with a dating app and guess who she's corresponding with yep Edward the playboy. Now that I've had a taste of Edward and Thea intense sexting I can't wait to see where their journey leads me this book has already proven to be a thrilling ride full of possibilities.

This is book one in Edward's storyline arc. There are four books planned, so be aware that you will encounter cliffhangers. Edward's books could be read alone but for a complete picture, and complete enjoyment, I recommend reading all the books and in order. The story had some drama, humor and emotional turmoil. Edward is hot, jaded, charming and a player. Thea is much more serious, smart and somewhat shy and uncertain of herself. This book gives you a look at Ed and Thea's lives and shows what leads up to them connecting on a dating app. This starts a game between them of texts, questions and photos. I believe in full disclosure. I do think it is only fair to share that these characters never meet even once during this book (although they do have one close encounter). I'm interested in seeing how the story progresses but for me the pace was slow and the texting and the photos were just not enough interaction between this couple for me. This is my completely honest and totally voluntary review.

Excellent introduction to the story of Edward and Théa
Excellent story, very well written, but it's only the first part and the cliffhanger seems to have arrived too early.
I loved both characters even if they are not necessarily honest with themselves, they are exciting. Each one thinks to control what the other will want, without having ever met.
Thea comes out of a marriage where her husband has been cheating on her and deceiving her sexually and Edward does not want to get out of his role as a playboy, even though he is getting bored.
After signing up for an app, she communicates with Edward, who under the pseudonym of "ghostman," often leaves the conversation. Their exchanges are tough, but the fear of being faced with a catfish, a manipulator, or a tease, retains them while continuing their game of seduction: the taste of risk takes over until reality catches them and go back ...

Thea, fresh out of a loveless marriage, not looking for love but just a fling and encouraged by her two friends, uses a dating app to meet a new man. Thea’s profile catches Edward’s eye and what starts out as a fun innocent game turns into a hot obsession. I am a big fan of Shayne Ford books; she is a fantastic romance writer and weaves together a perfect blend of emotion, romance and hotness as well as cockiness in spades for Edward.

Wow! This is one captivating, exciting, intriguing, smack your lips, page turning tale that really pulls you in. Man, I don't know where Shayne got her inspiration but this read totally rocks. She wields her words as skillfully and precise as a surgeon with his scalpel. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches here and there make for one enjoyable experience. Shayne keeps you in suspense at a nerve racking pace. I was steady trying to flip the pages at the end. Now I'm holding my breath waiting for the next installment. Also we gets an update about the other 2 kings and their wives.. Shows how true and loyal friends got your back.. Ride or die.. Truly a great start to a wonderful book from a great writer..

This is an excellent Billionaire Romance. The storyline is well-written, with steam, intersecting plot lines for the other main characters of this series, suspense and a cliffhanger. The developed characters are realistic and have personality. I enjoyed this book. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

What the author’s creative writing gives us is a fun, flirty and oh such a tease entertaining read that is a thumbs up to my expectation. I love Thea’s character, her innocent sweet nature with a side of maturity is just the right woman to being down Edward. I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this game of love.

OMG Shayne YOU did it again, EDWARD is a great addition to Night of the Kings Series #7. Edward and Thea story starts of using a phone app with a little harmless flirting back and forth. Wow....just wow! Edward ever the player & Thea with a broken heart that needs mending. This story is sure to bring a world of twists and turns. Thea's life has been turned upside down and she has to start to her life all over again and her friends encourage her to use a Dating App.
There is so much behind the scenes in this book I cant wait to find out more in the next. An amazing book. I cant wait for book 8 in the in the series xx

Nice set up for the series! Loved the dating app idea though I can honestly say I wasn't thrilled when it was first introduced. Can't wait for the rest of Edward and Thea's romance!

just a teaser.
This book is nothing but the prelude to a story. It’s a good thing I am not paying for these individual books, cause I wouldn’t bother. Something good about Kindle Unlimited. I am sure the next three books will be: more tease, some engagement, and then the resolution. Good thing they are short reads. Oh, one final comment, the errors continue: ‘She drags her gaze down to checks my stilettos’. Gooder English….. lol. Need I say more?

Hoping Things Pick Up
I have really been enjoying this series, having read both James' and Lex's trilogies, but I'm having some trouble getting into Edward's story. It seems to be dragging somewhat in comparison to the prior two storylines. Certainly not so much that I don't want to read further. But I really do hope the pace picks up a bit in the coming volumes.
I'm also not as intrigued, so far, with Thea, the female protagonist in this part of the series, as I was with either Rain or Dahlia. But I do like Thea's cousin, Liz, and their friend, Chloe. And I'm hoping a more adventurous and fiery side of The a will eventually emerge.
There have been a lot more insightful aspects to this book than I've found in any of the previous volumes. A lot of the ruminating about how people act and/or respond and why struck a chord.
I'm wondering if the slower pace might be intentional, following the mindset and attitude primarily attributable to Edward. If so, that could be a very interesting methodology on the author's part. But only time and continued reading will tell.

Enjoyed, but seriously disappointed
I enjoyed read this so very much . Getting caught up in the two characters. What disappoints me was the craft that I didn't take a closer look at the next book I didn't know that this book would end in a cliffhanger. I don't care for these types of books. I then look and realize that there are four more books this story. What is upsetting is the fact being on a limited income there is no way that I can purchase these books they are that far out of my budget. So if you can afford the five dollars a book plus the combined interest on you credit card then be my guest. I don't have that luxury. This author will have to find her income from someone that has money to spar, or just doesn't care if they have the funds to pay for the next book that comes in the mail.

I have not read the other books in this series but this is book one in Ed's story so I read that it would be okay to read it. You will just have spoilers for Lex's and James' books. I like Shayne's sexy writing but this book is not even a complete book. I get that it is book one for Ed's story but nothing happens in this book. Ed and Thea chat online and send some pictures and then the book ends. This needs to not be a book by itself in my opinion. I would not have been happy if I paid money for this short story. Other people seemed to not mind a book of anticipation only but I need more if I am buying a book.

Interesting read.
It’s started as a game.Thea the newly divorced woman and Ed the pick and leave them type of man.Thea was only looking for a distraction from the wounds left from her marriage so going on the app would be fun.Ed ,she was not the usual type of woman he met so his interest and curiosity was peaked.Would Thea be the woman for him.You got to read to find out but be prepared it’s only book 1

This was literally half of the story. It just stopped smack dab in the middle of it. And tells you to read the next book. Wth? I’m not gonna buy and read 18 short books to get 7-9 full stories. Nope. Not for me.
