I've read several books by this author so I"m pretty familiar with how she writes but even I was surprised and impressed with this book It's not at all the typical bad boy mafia son claiming the girl.
Ryder doesn't want his place in the family business, in fact he's done everything he can to distance himself from that life. But when his father dies and he is called home his whole life is going to change.
Adriana is so much more than the typical heroine, she's the "right hand man" to the head of the mafia and when he dies so does her position within the family. That is until she proves her worth to Ryder. Now he realizes he can't lose her for the sake of the family and his own heart.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Wow a great Mafia romance I loved Adriana and Ryder they were great together and when Adriana stood up for herself when she first met Ryder was great this story has plenty of action and steam and romance a lot going on no more hints to the story but if you like a mafia romance this is a great one to read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

This is an excellent, dark mafia romance and I found it to be absolutely fascinating and pleasure to read.
It is about: a new mob boss (Ryder) who is finally able to claim the feisty woman (Adriana) now that his father is deceased and can no longer protect her but his enemies are hiding in the shadows, watching and waiting for him to make a mistake.
There is: a conniving brother (Giovanni), a manipulative mother, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, some action, danger, enemies, family issues, secrets, deceit, lies, memories, misconceptions, anger, attractions, some BDSM, domination/submission, threats, ambition, betrayal, revenge, evidence, drugs, murder, human trafficking, manipulations, evil, confessions, abduction, conflict, death, passion, love, happiness & steamy scenes.
The story-line and plot is well-thought out and written, it definitely keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are quite well-developed with individual personalities and react with realistic emotional feelings. I really enjoyed reading this mafia romance and would recommend it.

I thought i’d absolutely hate it, due the cover and the synopsis, turns out, i didn’t hate it. this is definitely not the kind of content i’d enjoy, so i had extremely low expectations for this book, but it surpassed them. if, i were to like this genre, i would’ve rated it a three and half rather than two. the book itself is well written and i personally enjoy how ryder was very careful with everything. there was only one moment in this book that made me concerned and unsure if i should continue reading, but it soon faded away because it got explained. the only negatives part that i can point is the lack of an actual plot behind and the short story. i feel like the plot could be a lot more explored and developed in the first moment rather than focusing on the ‘attraction-at-first-sight’ thing, the story could be very interesting if only it was more explored. as much as id normally hate the main characters relationship, it only felt a bit hushed but not necessarily bad. that being said, it’s not a bad book but it’s not something i’d enjoy.

One should never underestimate the power of a Mama Rainieri UNLESS you are Adriana, the powerful assistant to the fallen Mafia head. As his assistant she knows intimate details about the organization which puts her life in danger. Ryder has not been involved in family for the past year and when he comes home to attend the funeral he is surprised to find he is to take over for his father. Something about Adriana calls to him and as their lives intertwine, they form a powerful couple which sends them into uncharted waters in their relationship as well as the Mafia organization. Can they survive long enough to see if the spark between the two can ignite into something more or could it send them to their death? Very riveting story!

This was a fabulous read. Ryder is looking for the perfect submissive and has almost given up hope. He is called home after his father's passing and discovers he's been left in charge of Rainieri Enterprises his father's company. When he meets Adriana his father's PA there is an instant attraction and connection between them. Has Ryder finally found his perfect submissive? I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and had an engaging storyline. The characters were well developed and had amazing chemistry. This is definitely a must read that will keep you turning the pages. Highly recommend. I voluntarily received an advanced arc copy for an honest review.

Dnf - there was just too much happening really quickly. Our guys father dies and he immediately hits on the dads assistant the very first time they meet. He invited her to dinner promising business only (like 20 mins in to their first meeting) 4-6 hours later they have dinner at his penthouse and he’s showing her his sex dungeon and talking about contacts. Very unbelievable and the writing style isn’t something I’m a fan of. The dialog is also a little cringe our girl goes “ you’re really smart sir” to which he replies ….Not like you. You’ve got big brains. I’ve got big… other things,” he said with a grin…….CRINGE!!!

Ryder gets a call that his father has died to come home but when he does he finds his father left him the mafia business and his assistant Adrianna. Ryder thinks the worse of Adrianna that she was his fathers mistress but when he finds out how far off he is, he offers to discuss the business at dinner at his home he finds a lot about Adrianna that he has been looking for. His brother Giovanni and his Mama want Adrianna gone and anyone else who stands in the way. Good story and Ryder and Adrianna make a great team.

Ryder has lost hope of finding the perfect submissive, and when he is called home as his father has passed, he meets Adriana, who is his deceased fathers PA. These two are instantly drawn to each other. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written flawless story from this talented author, and is filled with action, drama, betrayal, and is a gritty and sexy read. I was totally captivated throughout. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers.

I did enjoy this book, which had a good storyline, however thought that the second half was definitely better. I grew to like the character's more in the second half and found the it full of suspense, action and drama. For those that like steamy sex scenes, there is a couple, however they didn't do anything for me. To much "oh yeah fuck me" type language. I found myself skimming through these scenes. However they didn't take up a large part of the book. I did think that the early play room scene reminded me of fifty shades.

Good story but missing something
It was a good story with some great scenes, but it felt lacking. The big mob boss seemed too nice; didn't carry a gun, no lackeys following for his protection. It just made it a little too unbelievable. I understand there are storylines that more on the fantasy side of fiction, but it seemed like she was trying to set a more serious tone for that. Overlooking that it was a good read

Really enjoyed this book it was so different to what I had been reading and I was absolutely enthralled from beginning to end. When Ryder's dad died in his will he appointed Ryder the head of the family but his conniving mother thought otherwise and made the rest of the family vote for Giovanni his younger brother. It is a proper mafia story and keeps you on edge right to the end

Loved this book. Quite a dark story of dom and sub. When Ryder's father, who is the head of the mafia dies and passes leadership to Ryder, he meets his father's assistant. Adriana is loathed by Mrs Rainieri and Ryder's brother, Giovanni for different reasons. Lots of twists and hot loving.

Excellent Mafia Romance. The storyline is very good with passion, submission, danger, some mixed emotions and developed main characters that have personality plus. You will be turning pages, engaged and entertained. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Writing not great here -- just a little meh all around. Didn't find it particularly sexy nor did I like Ryder or Adriana as characters all that much. Would like to see something else by the author, could just be this wasn't my favorite of their titles. Will try again!

This story is ridiculous and thats saying a lot for the genre.
Plot:
Estranged from family Rich boy bored with life looking for his one true sub.
Boys father dies. Boy must return and run family empire.
Enter girl. Poor innocent just trying to make enough money to support her sick father. For some unexplained reason no one would hire her except a mob boss and he made her his right handman.
Creepy brother threatening to rape girl tells brother girl is dad's mistress.
Boy meets girl. Oh shes so beautiful and she sits when I tell her to sit she would make a great sub...but I won't be sloppy seconds to my dad. Tells girl he wont be sloppy seconds. Girl: *righteous anger* I quit! I dont care if I just spent past 15 minutes talking about how I am desperate to keep my job I will not allow you to imply I am a whore. Boy: I am so sorry let me make it up to you with dinner and my place. It will be STRICTLY business! No pressure! I just want to opportunity to apologize for my unprofessional behaviour and show you how dedicated I am to being the best mob boss with your help.
Later that night. Here have some wine and food in my penthouse. Oh I want to show you something. Here is my most private secret lady I just met and invited over for a professional business meeting since I'm your boss. I want to engage in bdsm. Here read this contract and let me know.
Next day at work girl explains all the ends and out of mob business. Boy thinks oh she knows too much I may have to kill her...but I want to have sex with her first. I like the plot but I feel like it could have been written much better with more emotions. Especially when it is scene that requires more emotions.
