What do you say when your mother calls from her holiday abroad to say she married a millionaire she just met?
Elsie just decides to put it on her long, mental list of irresponsible things her mother has done and carry on with her normal life. Only that doesn’t last long when Elsie’s mother demands for her to come and stay for the Christmas break with the new family. Elsie knows she doesn't have any other choice but to go and get meeting the new family out of the way. Except her mother didn't mention her three new stepbrothers, or the fact that they all look like hot models in expensive suits with killer smiles. Christmas break was meant to be snow, fun and presents. Instead, Elsie finds herself spending every day avoiding her attraction to not one, but three of her new stepbrothers. 18+ **A Stepbrother Reverse Harem Romance**
For real? 3.7 rating. I hate to say this, but this book isn’t worth more than one star. There is no character development, no depth or feeling, no plot development... ugh. It’s just forced situations and telling not showing.
And the sex wasn’t even as hot as three dudes should and can be. I want my hour of reading time back.
Elsie’s mother has married a millionaire and she now begrudgingly has to spend Christmas. However, this may turn out to be the best Christmas ever for Elsie when she meets her three new step-brothers.
Resisting Them is one steamy little reverse harem short story.
This book doesn't have much in way of substance but it definitely covers the steamy scenes. I will say although I enjoyed this quick read it wasn't the best I have read of Gem's. To me it felt a lot like a fluff piece. The writing wasn't as engaging as normal and there wasn't really a plot to it all but it was good for a quick read between books.
Not very good. Very rushed story that was super unrealistic as well. No character development and some details were contradictory just a couple sentences later. Just bad. Too bad because the premise interested me.
The most ridiculous book I have read all year. Girl meets 3 brothers. After a couple of days she’s having a foursome. After 2 weeks she’s in love with them. Next thing you know the 3 brothers are planning this polyamorous semi-incestuous life with said girl and she’s fine with that, no worries or questions asked. Here are some questions I have: 1. How did Elsie go from normal, just got out of a relationship, moody student to flirting with her stepbrothers and banging them all (individually and together) within 2 days? 2. Why were the brothers fine with sharing? If they loved her, why didn’t they want her to themselves? 3. What did the 4 of them really know about each other? Do we even know what Flynn’s job is? All we got was details of jobs and parents. Hardly enough to fall in love with someone (or somethree in this case) 4. Why was the dad (John) so cool about it? 5. Why did the mum accept it so quickly? Surely the thought of your daughter being screwed by 3 men couldn’t be that easily digested with the help of a dream catcher 6. If she’s a teacher, how does she explain it at work? Which husband goes to the office Christmas party with her? 7. Which dad is on the birth certificate? None I presume. What do they say at nursery, this is the kids 3 dads? How are they planning to explain that mummy is married to her stepbrothers and doesn’t know which one is your biological father?
This book is stupid. I read it so quick, wanting to know how in the heck the author concluded it and it was just ridiculous. A realistic ending would have been Elsie writing off the 2 weeks as wild and stupid and creating awkwardness at every family get together but leave it at that and walk away because unfortunately, unless you live in a commune, 99% of society isn’t going to raise an eyebrow when you explain you have married and procreated with your 3 step-siblings.
The sheer stupidity of this story has actually put me off reading other books by this author 😒
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Sorry no spoilers of any kind, well I’m going to try to not give any spoilers that is. So this is what I’m going to say about this book and that is I thought it was good. But it took me awhile to get into it and it’s kinda a short story at that too so by the time I was able to get into the story it was getting close to the end of the book. Which shocked me because every other book that I’ve read by G. Bailey I’ve been sucked into the book before I even finished the chapter, but not this one. This book wasn’t exactly my favorite but I still found it good it just wasn’t my cup of tea for some odd reason. But yes I recommend it because I bet there’s plenty of people who will enjoy it.
I love how the title is 'resisting them' and yet Elsie didn't do a whole lot of resisting haha. The relationship between Elsie, Ezra, Flynn, and Max was intense, instant, and sparks flew off of the page. They were trapped at the boy's house for only two weeks, but they moved fast and fell hard.
The relationship between Elsie and her mother was interesting. Her mother had done some terrible things in her past, yet feels that she can judge her daughters decision. I'm honestly supposed Elsie decided to go see her mother, given their past encounters.
I really enjoyed this quick, intense read and will now devour all of G. Bailey's novels!
I enjoy all of G. Bailey’s books and this is not different, however this book was over too quickly! I love all the characters in the book, however I just wanted more character development. It is a sweet, sexy story about Elsie and her guys (Ezra is my favourite 😝) but they do get down and dirty very quickly. The book gets better as the story goes on and I will admit the last chapter is my favourite..I would love s bit more out of this book but still enjoyed it and recommend it to lovers of RH and G. Bailey!
Well if you love RH and Christmas, you've just found your next book!! This is spicey and fast paced! There are a few uncertain and sweet moments that make you fall a bit in love with this group. Having a secret and hiding feelings is just such a difficult thing to do when you're stuck in the same house! The plot was expertly executed and I loved the cheeky dialogue! Ms. Bailey always delivers the most intoxicating tales and this novella is another jewel in her crown 💖💖💖
For a novella this was great, a quick read that can be finished in no time. Plenty of steam and a sweet and cute ending. Being that it’s a novella and not a full length novel there is little time to build a lot of relationship development between the characters but if you go in knowing this then it’s completely fine and was a really great read. I honestly enjoyed it so much that I wish it was made into a more lengthy novel, definitely something I could see myself loving even more!
This is a nice sweet read for the holiday's. Fun and light, with just the right amount of steam.
We have our main character Elsie who is having to go and stay with her mom for Christmas with her mom's new family. But there is one small problem, or maybe three. She has three new stepbrothers, oh yeah and they are hot as sin. Who is going to be Nice and who is going to be Naughty? Let the Christmas games begin!!
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
This book was a little different than I though. It is a Reverse Harem which I have been obsessed with lately. I was not expecting the reverse harem to be new step siblings. It was a really good book and I read it really quick, but it was not what I expected.
I have read many books by G. Bailey and they are all fabulous! This one is no exception to that. I look forward to reading more work from the talented author.
Hot millionaire triplets!! Elsie hit the jackpot this Christmas vacation. When her mom married a millionaire, Elsie got a lovely and caring new stepfather and three gorgeous stepbrothers. The attraction between Elsie and the three of them was instantaneous. But of course, those taboo relationships aren’t easy to accept or deal with. What’s in store for the new siblings? Nice and steamy holiday story.
This is a really good short reverse harem. I enjoyed all the characters. Even with it being a short book you got to learn about them which is usually hard to come by. I do wish it was longer. But I can honestly say that there was not one bad thing about this book.
This story is a short story. I was suffering from a bit of a book hangover, and this author is really good at sucking you into a story. The book didn’t disappoint. It was a nice, short, entertaining read, with some sexy scenes. What’s more it felt like a complete, unrushed story, which can be hard for some authors to do in one this length.
Elsie is forced to spend her Christmas break with her mother and her new step-father. Little did she know that she was about to meet Max, Ezra, and Flynn, who are triplets and her step-brothers...
It was an easy and quick read that I quite enjoyed. Sometimes I did wish it was slower paced, with more details about the triplets' life and their personalities. Same about Elsie.
This was a good, quick read. I liked the characters, even though their feelings and relationships were a bit rushed, as was the whole story. Despite the rush, it is a really fun read. If you’re looking for an easy, quick, lighthearted story, this is for you.
This is an amazing book. That's why I gave it a 5 star rating. I highly recommend it. I won't tell anything about it to ruin the surprise of it. Read it and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. G. Bailey is a great author.
this was extremely steamy. I loved the characters and thought they were really cool. The mother missed me off and I couldn't stand her. Otherwise this was steamy and I couldn't stay away.
I liked it. This book was a little fast paced. I feel like there wasn't as much story as I usually get from G. Bailey. That being said it was still a fun quick read! I love most of her work and can't wait to read more.
It was very good for a short story. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because everything happened way to fast, but it is short story so we can expect to much detailed.
This was a great heart warming story for the holidays. The three brothers were written really well. As was Elsie. Not much resistance was put up. But it was a great story over all.
Crazily quick insta love. Amazingly fast RH acceptance by basically everyone including the triplets dad...... which is weird....And soooo freaking cheesy.
BUT a HEA quick plane read that I did like a lot. What can I say? Guilty pleasure lol.
When I started reading this book it was not what I was expecting. But Gem didn't let me down, I read though this book in one day it was that good! I loved how Elsie and her Mom got close again! But is was kinda of sad that her dad couldn't be happy for her.
Loved this story and the three sexy brothers. I really enjoyed the story and how their relationship grew. Smokin hot sex and a good portion of romance make this story so good! Fabulous!
