Pop star Leontyne Blake is about to introduce her new songs to her fans. But is her relationship with small-town nurse Holly ready for her return to the stage?
Facing the Music is a short story sequel to Jae’s f/f romance Perfect Rhythm.
Jae is the author of twenty-six award-winning romances between women. She lives in the sunniest city of Germany, near the French and Swiss borders. The writing bug bit her at the age of eleven.
She used to work as a psychologist but gave up her day job in 2013 to become a full-time writer and a part-time editor. As far as she’s concerned, it’s the best job in the world.
When she’s not writing, she is an avid reader of sapphic books, indulges her ice cream and office supply addictions, and watches way too many crime shows.
A couple of pages that should actually have been part of Jae’s Perfect Rhythm if you were to ask me. I actually liked this better than the “origin story”, I think because the pace here is better, because it’s super short haha. You have to read Perfect Rhythm if you are thinking about picking up this extra chapter as I am calling it. If the origin story had some edits, taken out some pages that made the story too slow this could have easily been part of the book.
An adorable, little short update on Leo and Holly. It’s time for Leo to do a few concerts, but she is nervous and worried. Holly comes with Apricot-orange cream scones, comfort and reassurances they both need, and a big surprise for Leo.

Super short story, or more like scene, between Leontyne and Holly, characters from Jae's novel 'Perfect Rhythm'. Even though incredibly short, there was so much tenderness in this scene that it warmed my heart tenfold. It made me want to read Perfect Rhythm all over again, even though I just finished it for the 2nd time through last month.
This is a one-chapter follow up to the novel Perfect Rhythm, by the same author. It wouldn't make sense to read this without the original book, but I would recommend that anyone who reads the first book grab this one too. This is a nice and sweet follow up that shows more of what happens to the characters after the books end.
4 stars. Just a sweet and cute little moment between Leo and Holly. Honestly could’ve been included in the epilogue for Perfect Rhythm but it was adorable either way.
