Protecting Carissa is by Shauna Allen. It is a cute book about falling in love with the right person. Kid is the youngest in his SEALs team but he makes u for it in pride and participation. He would like to have a girlfriend; but it seems it would be too hard when he had to leave on a mission. That didn’t stop him from stopping in the neighborhood diner for breakfast on Mondays to see Carissa. He thought she was the prettiest young lady he had ever seen. Finally, he got the nerve to ask her for a date. She agreed on Friday.
When he came to pick her up, she was crying. Her Uncle Abe had died and she felt guilty. He held her, not knowing what else to do. They ended up making love. He left and the next morning didn’t know how to feel. He found out she felt the same: but shortly after his team had to leave, this time for several months. To his surprise, when he came home, he found she was pregnant. He wasn’t ready to be a father and not having one himself, had no idea how to be one. What was he going to do?

Carisa has worked in the diner for a while and Kid is one of her favorite customers. They have formed a connection, so when he finally asks her out it doesn’t take much thought. But the night of their date she gets bad news and they never end up going anywhere, and the next morning he is shipped off on a mission. With several weeks passing and not seeing kid she begins to worry, until he shows back up. But when he does things don’t go over smoothly. There is a bump in things. And Kid doesn’t man up, he acts like a kid, causing Carisa to run off. But while Kid was gone there is a new customer that is trying to cozy up to Carisa that starts to freak her out now that Kid is back, and he get very possessive over her. Will Kid Man up and be able to protect her?

Carissa is shy and works at Maverick's, a cafe, and her boss is married to the seal it's named after. Cody is also a seal on the team, and after every run in the morning he stops in for breakfast just to se her smile. But he's had a rough life and doesn't know how to communicate with her. They finally had one night together before he left on a mission. Now she has a problem at work and a secret of her own. Pretty good book.

I love this series
I love this series!! I love that Cody shares the same birthday as me :) I also love how Cody steps up once he finds out about becoming a father. What he does is so sweet. All the men so far take care of their women. The simple little things is what counts. I can't wait to read about Tito!!!

Kid goes to Maverick's every Monday just to see Carissa. Carissa loves when Kid comes in. She has been crushing on him forever. Thanks to Rebekah, he finally asks her out. She had gotten bad news the day of their date and they never made it out.

Out of time
Was a good story line ,until for some reason a shift change happens a little early. I wanted to know what happened between Cody and Carissa after the hospital deal, the next story could have waited. Otherwise it s pretty good just fall out of focus on two very important people and the next step.🤔⌚👩🏾💻🍸

Cute
The military action was less in this story and just part of how Kid connects to the series. The romance was sweet and had to work through some hurdles as there was the surprise. The drama was slightly predictable, but Tex’s role made for a great read. Sweet ending and I am so excited to see what happens with Tito and Brianna.

I love this series, and the spinoff books to the series are awesome. This story is full of action, new relationship when Cody(kid) comes back from deployment to find Carissa pregnant.

Protecting Carissa was an amazing book. One night between Cody and Carissa, and their entire worlds changed. This story has the suspense, the hope and desire, the feel-goods, and the wonderment of true love. I really loved this story, and I highly recommend it.

Oh, What a kid
Beautifully written. There's plenty of action. Almost like getting two books instead of one. There's tangos and there's a crazy guy. Love this series. Very little sexual content.

Kid and Carissa have been dancing around each other at the cafe. When Kid finally asks her out they have one perfect night. Fast forward and both of their lives will be changed.
As usual great characters and a story that is romantic, angsty and full of action.

Military Romance
I love the Special Force’s teams. It’s great to catch up with the other guys. Cody and Carissa’s story was fantastic. Glad they worked out their feelings for each other. I can’t wait to see what happens in Shauna’s last book in this series.

Cody and Carissa, Well besides chasing bad guys, and working with Tex, Wolf and the rest of the gang, was a total wow for me.
Loved the story that came to be between Carissa and Cody and what finally came to be, well worth reading.

another great story ... mostly.... I love this series and have enjoyed all the others so far but for some reason this one does not resonate as much as the others. nothing wrong with it just not for me as much as the others were

A story of a young couple living and dealing with life and bumps that come along the way. Add in a bit of suspense. I really would have liked it but that ending. So abrupt, what the heck.

Fabulous!
This is definitely my favorite book of the series so far, I love Kid and Carissa. From one night comes an amazing and heartfelt story, of two people fighting to find their happily ever after, it is a story full of action, suspense, love, and family and it is such a good read.
