Favorite Holiday Recipes - I haven't read the Love Christmas 2 boxed set, but thought I'd check out the recipes from the authors. The recipes are grouped by categories ranging from appetizers and drinks to main and side dishes to baked goods and desserts, complete with links.

A link will take you to the recipe complete with a photo and an overview of that story. The recipes range from scratch to preprocessed ingredients, and are basic to specialized comfort dishes. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. There is something for everyone and none are difficult to make. Personally, I would use better grades of cheese to mix with lobster (Lobster Mac & Cheese). There's too much salt in some of the recipes, which is an easy fix. Now, excuse me while I make some cookies to go with my coffee. 4*

Easy to follow recipes, which are not too complicated or require many ingredients and include pictures with an anecdote how the recipe is included in the story. The price is right. Great Recipes

I think I bookmarked almost every recipe in this cookbook. Some are so easy to make that I will probably make them throughout the year like the hot cross buns and the shortcake recipes. The punch recipe could also be used for any occasion, and the venison stew could easily be adapted to use beef instead of venison if you don't have access to wild game. Finally, a great and easy recipe for mulled wine, and I know I will be serving it this Christmas season.

While the stories represented in this book are not really my cup of tea the recipes sound excellent. With the holidays upon us I just might try a few of them. The bars and cookies are my favourites but the pancakes and breads look good as well. I always enjoy a good cookbook and derive much inspiration from them. I hardly ever stick to recipes as I love to experiment with my cooking but ideas are always appreciated.

What a Great Teaser!

While the recipes in this book are clear and the one I made , the apricot almond coffee cake was to die for, the real treasure is the story summary that accompanies each recipe. If it weren't one in the morning I'd run right out and buy the collection.

Each recipe has an excerpt from a story from.The collection, Love Christmas 2.
Ham, broccoli and Cheese Salad from, Can She Get Home For Christmas, by Rebecca York. This is cooked for a Christmas dinner in the book and it contains Splenda and red onions.
Busy Writer's Rotisserie Chicken Grilled Sandwich from, A Christmas Creek Carol, by Rochelle Ayala. This sandwich is made with leftovers. Leftover deli rotisserie chicken, how easy can it be? In the book, the lettuce is wilted and the recipe says that's okay. Use a toaster oven to heat it up. Like some generation says, Easy Peasy.
There are 4 recipes of Appetizers and drinks, 5 for Main Dishes, baked Goods and Desserts have 14, and side dishes have 4.

Too many good recipes and the reason I said that is because I ve gone from one to the next. Bounced all over this Cookbook and completely forgot about leaving a review. A lot of recipes I only make during the holidays, this book adds to the small section of cookbooks in my collection, that are reserved for those special times in life, that call for something extra special.

A sweet collection of recipes featured in the Love, Christmas 2 Anthology. Each recipe is accompanied by a snippet from the novella where it appears. The recipes run the buffet table from beverages to appetizers to entrees and desserts. They all have a homemade touch and are an easy to make favorite of the author. I must admit they tickled my taste bud curiosity and my interest in the stories. I bought the anthology and I’ve put 2 of the recipes on my holiday menus.

A collection of delicious sounding recipes from the authors of a collection of Christmas stories. The recipes are not specifically Christmas recipes and there are a couple that I'd like to try very soon. The special thing about this recipe book is that each other has provided a brief insight into how a particular recipe relates to her story in the collection. Very nice idea.

Each recipe has a preface from the author on why the recipe is important to their story. The recipes include appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. I enjoyed reading this recipe book.
