A proud geek and video gamer, and champion of complex female protagonists, Jo brings her page-turning screenwriting style to books to weave well-crafted, suspenseful stories with twists you don't see coming. She writes YA books under Jo Ho and adult romance books under Joanne Ho - most of them featuring dogs!

A self-taught screenwriter, Jo's writing life began when she created the groundbreaking, critically acclaimed CBBC action fantasy television series, "Spirit Warriors," which introduced leading actress, Jessica Henwick ("Game of Thrones," "Star Wars: The Force Awakes") to the screen. Granted the biggest budget ever given to a CBBC show at the time, it was nominated for "Best Children's Programme" at the 2011 Broadcast Awards, with Jo herself, going on to win the Women in Film & Television's "New Talent" Award in 2010. Jo even made history for being the first East Asian person - man or woman - to have created a British television drama series.

Since then, Jo has worked with some of the most acclaimed producers in the world with several television shows and movies currently in development, she also writes for games. When she isn't working on her own stories, Jo helps others with their work - she is one of the BFI's (British Film Institute) recommended script consultants.

Jo suffers from MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities), a debilitating condition she has developed over the last few years which has left her mostly housebound. Unfortunately, it is still not officially recognized in the UK despite the World Health Organisation listing it as a physical disability. There is currently no help for sufferers of MCS in the UK. Unable to travel or attend meetings and writersrooms, she has lost many screenwriting opportunities but has refused to allow the condition to rule her life. Despite the wrench life has thrown at her, Jo started to write and publish books.

Her debut novel WANTED, Book 1 of the Chase Ryder series has been a bestseller in 15 YA categories. It also won top prize in the YA Sci-Fi category for the 2018 Readers' Favorite Book Awards. It is her dream to bring all of her book series to screen and she believes she can make it happen with her readers' help!

Jo lives in London and hopes to travel across America one day in a super kitted out, MCS-friendly, Zombie-apocalypse-ready RV with her lovely fella Matt, and three equally lovely kitties.

Twisted Series:
Hell Hath No Fury #8 - Pretty intriguing and plenty of suspense as Michael and the girls do their stuff to keep/find Allie and to find the two black magic containers. Ms. Ho wrote more of good plot and background storylines; it's quickly read and hard to put down. 5*

What Doesn't Kill You, Episode #1 - Totally awesome!, and it's just the first episode. It's a cliffhanger but it's written in episodes, which I totally dislike in any book. That pet peeve aside, Ms. Ho has done a jam up job with the start of a new series. This genre is right up my alley and I love everything I've read by this author. The story starts with the introductions of the main characters and touches on their background. I'm sure as the pages grow, the characters will develop more with time and experiences. So far, I like all of them, and I usually don't care for this age group, but I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the story. The last chapter pretty much gave a big hint of the future of these four young women and the roller coaster ride their lives will be now.

I wish I could tell what happened to Christian, but that's a spoiler; I let you enjoy the story with fresh eyes and no heads up. The story line can go anywhere from here and I know the ride will be fast paced and twisted. I thank the author for the clean language; yes, real people do not use vulgar language, whether they're Christians or not. 5 stars even though it's in parts - made for the screen, not to make more profits. 5*

Beware the Signs, Episode #2 - Intense. Intriguing. More players join the original cast as the storyline develops. The four young women start to recognize their special abilities as the evil begins. Well written with interesting characters and a plot that grows with suspense and twists. As with the first episode, it's a cliffhanger. 5*

See No Evil, Episode #3 - Intriguing. Suspenseful. Dangerous. Things are getting worse in this well written and well thought out episode. A lot of the darkness is interacting with the four young women. It's easy to get immersed in the actions of all involved. I love the way the present is mixed with Salem in 1693. The flashbacks aren't excessive; just appearing to build the present's horror or mirror happenings of 1693. 5*

The Blood That Binds #4 - Darn, another cliffhanger, but of course. Started a little slow for me, but quickly picked up the pace. Intriguing and suspense filled as the story progresses along with an interesting, developing plot. The back stories of all the characters are getting meatier and the evil is setting his play into motion affecting the young ladies mysteriously. This is a must read series, but it's easier on the reader to have all five books, the wait in between is hard. 5*

When Trouble Comes #5 - More and more nasty stuff is coming out of the woodwork. The girls are keeping too many secrets and are not learning to work as or be a team. Trouble is coming big time from many points and this is the creepiest of the series. Well written, well thought out and a continuously evolving story line keeps the reader immersed in the pages. Ms. Ho does a great job with her vivid descriptions and twists to the plot. Only complaint is waiting soooo long for the next part. 5*

Bad Habits #6 - More and more secrets and discoveries with this well written, well thought out episode. There's plenty of intrigue and suspense, while the girls are growing more as individuals and as partners. With this episode, some of the girls are getting more likable. Simon and Christian are getting their share of the pages. Michael is getting his licks in where he can and he's growing stronger, too. 5*

Left Behind #7 - Pretty intriguing and plenty of suspense as Michael does his thing. More secrets are unveiled; personalities becoming more pronounced; and magic is willing and jointly tried. There's a brief meet between past and present. Allie is more prominent in this episode. Ms. Ho wrote a good plot and background storylines; it's quickly read and hard to put down. 5*

What a story! Tyler’s sister is still missing and they have no leads for finding her. Eve is still confronted with a terror from her past and Cassie is hesitantly living her life normally with a cute boy. Marley has a few eye-opening revelations, but they’re only touched upon. I figure they will all have a chance to catch up in the next book, but there’s so much going on I can’t wait. I also liked the snippets of the detective. This will be an interesting tie-in to the mystery. And let’s not mention the light touches of romance for some of the girls! (Aka - my favorite part!) If you love suspense, action and magic then you should read this series. They’re so entertaining!

Hell Hath No Fury is the eighth short serial in the Twisted series.

Wow, I started this one as soon as I finished book 7 and guess what I am now off to start book 9. This series defiantly has me hooked and I would definitely recommend to anyone (no matter the age). Each book gets more interesting as it reveals a little bit more about the girls and there history. The action or demon attacks are getting more and more and in response the girls are getting a better grip on there powers. The book has a few twists and I can't wait to see how they develop in the series or where it takes us.
Michael has taken Tyler's sister Allie and the girls pull out all the stops to find her, even to go so far as to cast spells. But Tyler has been burning the midnight oil, as it is and the girls take action to help her slow down and think until the spell has time to work. The other three girls revisit the magic shop for help and advise only to get directed into a deadly situation that has them hiding something important from Micheal and Eve stumbles on a clue she is not sure she should share. Michael is fed up with not getting a reaction from Tyler and steps up his romance with Cassie. Can the girls find Allie in time?
I really like the narrator and think her voice for the characters is spell binding. So if you start listening to this series be prepared to have get the whole series.

I cannot stop reading these stories. I am hoping there are many more installments. After finishing this book, I tried to start another book but I kept thinking about what would happen next and wanting to return to the story. This is a very addicting story. This particular episode is as awesome as every other. The tension is building and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. I am very attached to the characters. The 4 girls and Christopher have hearts of gold. And, of course, there is the fact that these girls are so real and have the same insecurities that I grew up with and that many girls have as they try to make their ways through teen and young adulthood.

Another smash hit from Jo Ho in Hell Hath No Fury.

Emotion, drama, sadness, and heart-pounding action packs this installment. The characters are so well-developed, and the storyline is expertly crafted.

As a reader, I am immersed in the Twisted world, and I can feel every emotion these characters feel and the action that happens from the way Jo Ho masterfully crafts the scenes. Each scene has a purpose and is filled with such depth and intrigue.

The character dynamics are done well and there are some jaw-dropping surprises.

If you like fantasy, magic, and so amazing storytelling, pick up the Twisted book series. They are exceptionally great books to read.

As per her norm, Jo Ho brings it with this episode of Twisted! Hell Hath No Fury, indeed! Emotion, intrigue, action, character depth that continues to grow and expand with each new episode. The plot moves quickly, filled with rich details that bring you into the tale and don't let go, even after you've read the final words. Once you've read it, you'll either thank Jo Ho, or you'll curse her for writing such a great story, you can't wait for the next episode. I know I can't!!!

Even though our new witches are just learning their powers, they have enough knowledge and power to be dangerous. Unfortunately the danger is not always to the bad guys. In this installment Jo Ho introduces us to just how far these girls can be pushed. I feel very sorry for them in this one but also for those caught in the cross hairs. Little clues important to later installments are also included. I can't wait.

I received this book at my request but the opinion is of my own. Finally coming back to this series after doing some others. Allie has been taken and Tyler is in dire need of finding her. The rest of the ladies agree to help do anything in their power. Meanwhile Michael is still up to no good and trying to get more information by pretending to be someone else to one of the girls to get more information on them. Will they realize Michael is around them before it’s too late?

Another fast read with plenty of action.

Michael has really thought out his plan of attack as this book starts to demonstrate.
There are a wide variety of emotions that come into play, and the friends are finding that unity really is the best option. Magical skills are used from both sides to varying effect, and we find out more about the history of the guardians.

A fascinating story with quite dark elements that will have you diving straight into the next part.

Hell Hath No Fury, my tenth read from author Jo Ho & the seventh book in the new series that I began late last year & continued recently, an enjoyable, well-written tale well-woven over the entire length of the short book, the suspense building throughout. An enjoyable series that I look forward to reading. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Wonderful story. Each episode is exciting. The characters are intense and real. One drives me nuts on her stupidity. The others make me cheer. No sexual content and very little violence. Like always, I am looking forward to the next installment. It's like a good TV series. Making you want more.
