Kaiden Jericho's life has been about rocking it like a solo artist, now he has to deal with a partner.

Who is he going to work with, and will that partner be able to handle him... Including his (shall we say) slightly inflated ego of himself?

Even if that ego is deserved, just a little?

Chief is learning to be a little more supportive, except when Chief of Security Wulfson decides a few students deserve a little more intense training.

With all of the additional injuries Kaiden suffers in his extra-curricular training, will he succumb to the blue goop pain killer?

You don't become the best of the best by staying alive. With the Animus, you are closer to perfection with each death you suffer.

For Kaiden Jericho, he'd rather skip the death part, thank-you-very-much.

In CO-OP Kaiden has to figure out how best to work with a partner, someone who is as good in their profession as he is in his.

Join Kaiden as he learns about Nexus, the Animus and the opportunities that one fight brought him. Never has helping someone benefitted him so much.

The future is looking bright, except for the pain.

Book two

Mistakes: I found one sentence that made no sense and coked should have been cocked.
Plot: More school, more test.
Characters: Starting to get a feel for the support characters. Don't mind the snark with the teachers, as I feel like the MC is also an adult.

You know that feeling you get when a really cool scene is ready to drop in one of your favorite books? Well, you won't find that here. This book was boring. The best I can come up with is something like this.
You're out there on the 4th of July, watching fireworks.
There's a really cool explosion with lots of colors, and plenty of sound to awe the crowd.
then it repeats with no variation whatsoever.
Then,
it repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats, and repeats.
Yeah, that's this book.

Fun read

A good second book with the same level of action as the first as the MC progresses through the academy year. Would like to see a little more depth in the characters and dialogue as about 80% of Kaidens dialogue is about how great he is which gets old. Still had fun reading it and will likely get the next book.

Good but not quite for me

This may well appeal to someone else a lot, but I liked the first book for its humor and character development. The emphasis of this book was running through different scenarios on how to kill lots of people. Just not for me.

I loved the story in this

This story is amazing and well written, I am glad to have run into it. The only reason it’s a 4 star is because I feel like it should be 3 books but of every school year. I do very much enjoy the books though.

An excellent follow up to an outstanding start. This book has captured my attention in the series and left me cursing that it wasn't longer.

Awesome

Truly a fun read. The battles were enjoyable the characters irreverent and the writers style full of flair and kick. I'll be reading all of this series for sure.

3.5 stars. Still an enjoyable read, but where as the first one had a good blend of action and character interaction, this one seemed to sacrifice personal developments in order to jam in as many action sequences as possible. Now admittedly, there was plenty of Teamy Goodness with those action sequences, and I am always in favor of Teamy Goodness in any form. But almost all of them were in the Animus in a battle setting, and there wasn't any noteworthy Real World character development. A few characters got a few nudges, and the author did try to stuff a little introspection in at the end, but it was *literally* in the very last paragraph of the very last chapter, give or take a few sentences, so it didn't really leave much of a lasting impression. Hopefully the group is able to refocus in the next book and remember that this whole thing so far has merely been *training*, in a Virtual Really setting where death and bad decisions only cost you points and a bit of passing discomfort. The Real World is significantly less forgiving and you only have one life.

Honestly this book could get virtually the same review as book 1. It has all the same flaws: Stupidity in lieu of good writing, weak resolution and a 'B' story more interesting and important than the 'A' story. It also still has the same strength, good action writing.

So the MC's career at a top secret academy depends on his tests. The next test is a cooperative test. Does the MC look into that at all? No, he just trains and pretends like everything will work out without his involvement. Which it does since a friend of the MC is smart enough to plan a team up with the MC and prepare him for the test.

The B story about a powerful shadowy group of xenophobic humans who apparently want to start an interstellar war receives minor attention. In the meanwhile a student passing a test is treated like its the resolution to the story.

Bottom line: I was able to enjoy this book because I like action but it may not be for more discerning readers.

DNF at the 7 hour mark I couldn't listen anymore I lost all faith in you Anderle. Sad when you see Anderle shows no improvement as a writer despite how many books he's written. As time goes on it gets worse and worse I was a fan of the first in this series and figured maybe he could stay on track with this series. But when the story lacks substance already and it's just the second book you know you might as well not bother with the rest. Anderle gets worse with his writing after he gets past a certain number of books in his series I think he just doesn't bother trying any longer. The Kurtherian Gambit it took 12 or so books before he went off the deep end. The next series about the damned it took around 6-7 books, here it just took 1 book. Trust me and don't bother with this sad excuse for a series.

This is sci-fi for 12 year old gamers, that also likes to watch Fortnite or Call of Duty on Twitch. There is lots of action and battles in it, but the problem is that they are all meaningless, since they are all VR battle training. There are never a risk for our lead character. And let me tell you about our “Hero”. He is a former gang member recruited to a top military academy, and might just be the most narcissistic juvenile moron lead character, that I have ever come across. He has no redeeming character traits. And to top it all off, his is constantly bantering with, what just might be the most irritating AI ever created in a sci-fi story. If you are over 18 skip this series.

Beautifully done in true Anderle style

The first two books in this series are awesome. I lost sleep two nights in a row just because i couldn't put them down. I must say work sucked those next days mostly cause i wasn't able to read these books and run a machine. If you like any book put out by Anderle or his many cohorts you will love this series. It has all the greats in it snark, mystery, a likeable goof who is magicly good at something...sometimes and in true gambit fashion action that keeps you turning the page till your alarm clock goes off.

Cannot wait for more

Like all the books and series, from this author, there are three things to know.

1. The Author is one of the best that I have read in many years.
2. The co authors are top notch.
3. The premise, characters, and plots. Are Great.
4. Oops there is a fourth one ( my bad). This author and his co authors have developed many story lines, set in different places, times, and SPACE
All his story lines are great and will give hours of enjoyment.
Have fun reading, and Semper Fi

This is another lighthearted, action-comedy--with colorful language. The story is intense in that there is a lot of action, but not intense in that we never worry that anyone will die and there is no villain who is trying to do evil. It's young men and women (and a few aliens) in a battle school. There is a lot of colorful language, both in terms of vivid descriptions and in terms of creative cussing, so I wouldn't recommend this for everyone. But if you can get past that, the characters are rich enough to make it entertaining.

The plot points have the same progression as the first book. This makes perfect sense since it is the same author but it really feels like I'm just reading the first book again. Everything is really predictable.

The main character does get some character development and we see more of the main heroine but the friends just exist and don't really contribute much to the overall story.

The side story in the background barely moves but I didn't expect that to do anything until like book 5.

Great read

Kaiden and crew are advancing in their skills and friendships while strange goings-on continue in the background. Good action in the VR world while the professors scheme to gain points through their students. Liking where this is headed; looking forward to the next. I would classify this as a YA read.

Great Book, Great Series

Kaiden and Chief the AI must partner with someone for the next round of tests. Fortunately a friend, Chiyo, asks him to partner up. I like the action, humor and chemistry of the characters. Will their be any romance with Chiyo in the future? I look forward to the next book.

Sci-Fi Action

This story picked up right where the other one left off still non-stop action great characters. The story continues to make it difficult to put the book down once you start reading. I'm looking forward to reading the third book in the series and see what comes. If you love action Syfy then this is a series for you.

Another fun, fast paced story!

Happily, it is the weekend, because I finished books one and two today. I am really enjoying this series. The story is well done, the characters feel like real people, there is a nice dynamic between several characters, and in the background there is the slow build of a mystery. On to book three now. :)

Great Multiplayer GameLit

Has a Superpowereds meets Mass Effect thing going. I can see influences from a number of games here. Good action and great characters made this an easy fast enjoyable read. Going to grab me another one. I really like the character's relationships with each other.

This was a good sequel. There was action from the start, which was nice, although I wouldn't have minded a few calmer moments. I liked that Kaiden and Chiyo worked together. I'm interested in the Geno/Genos thing. I will continue the series. I do think it's a bit too militaristic for my tastes, but I like the characters. 3.5 stars.

Solid addition the a good series

Full of action and plot, excellent foray into a different scifi universe.

One thing I really hope changes is the continual use of "jeering", which to me is a negative action, where many other words would have been more reflective of a group interaction among friends.

Beyond that, totally looking forward to seeing the story continue to evolve.

It's getting better

This book is much better in terms of the author feeling more into it for lack of a better way of saying it. It's a great story and this one pulled me in from the beginning. There's a ton of action but it's been great to watch Kaiden's subtle changes and growth. He's still an egomaniac but I think the shell might be starting to crack a bit. Good job.

Very well written

I really enjoyed this read. The writing was so well done that every time I picked it back up I was instantly transported back into its world. I can't wait to see where the new adventures take me and look forward to the ride. Definitely recommend this to all of the sci-fi lovers.

A Humorous Killing Spree

Which isn’t a phrase you should hear often, but it fits here.

Once again we find our MC excelling at what he does best (mayhem) amidst a cozy group of friends who can barely keep his ego in check. He’s learning though: and getting better at practically everything. Recommended! (16+)

This is an amazing second book. Kaiden and his friends are continuously training very hard. You can help but root for all of them. Kaiden continues to shatter records at the Academy and he is feeling very good. There seems to be something sinister happening in the background and we will probably find out more in the next books. Love the series so far!

Kicking Ass

Really liked this book. The underlying threat from the World Council through out the story is great. This is a mystery and a thriller at the same time. I look forward to the next part of the first year and the rest of the years keep them coming.

Enjoyable Read

I read the first book a few days ago. I found this book today. They have both been fun reads. If you enjoy the first book, then you will get the same snarky style and continuing story in this book. I will happily read the next book in the series as well.

Cool second book!

Really looking forward to the next in the series! Kaiden is a fun character for a fighter and having the teachers handle the mysterious happenings works well. I also enjoy the litRPG aspect and fantasy football aspect. I also want to learn more about Chiyo!
